Thought I would start a new thread. Hoping that April will be a better month for all of us, especially with places opening up again and hopefully continued better weather.

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning. I'm not setting a weight goal this month, instead I'll be focusing on trying to improve my fitness and general well being. Hoping that a bit of weight loss might follow.

Weigh day here: 80.2kg so with a lot of walking and quite a few chocolate calories instead of vegetables (oops), that's 1.2kg/2.6lbs off last week. Happy with that.

I work in metric so it's significant for me that I've passed the milestone (no pun intended!) of 10kg off since I started.

I think I'm now close to roughly what I weighed when I was doing competitive sports 10-12 years ago. I have a recollection of massaging the figures on a spreadsheet to avoid telling the coach I'd tipped over 80kg. Going to see if I can find my spreadsheet for comparison.

I hope everyone has a good day. It will be so much easier when this sodding cold weather goes away!

I got on the scales today after my week off. 3lbs up. Could've been worse I guess.

@TheHoneyBadger everything you say about sugar etc makes sense. As you say, with kids around (not even going to say young, mine are 13 and 11) you need to have stuff thats quick and easy to eat in the house, Think the same goes for adults as we're all so busy. Also the problem for me has been whenever I've eaten less crap, I've never felt better physically, only mentally cause I feel as though I am being good and getting slimmer if that makes sense. One day at a time

The sugar thing is really interesting. I remember kindly being given £5 from my grandma and also from an aunt for Eater eggs, and it didn't take me long to work out (probably aged 11 onwards) that I could get a lot more chocolate for my money if I just bought the biggest bars possible for £10. That was all that mattered, quantity of chocolate.

I also don't think I fully appreciated the effect of carbs until I had gestational diabetes a couple of years ago. I knew they weren't great, but thought I needed more than I actually do for energy and didn't understand the relative calories. Specifically how bad pizza and white bread are.

Nodding along furiously reading the latest post! So much resonates.

The cold weather, low energy levels, sugar cravings, kids treats & snacks! After my sugar overload on Sunday I've really struggled. Perhaps because the house is full of crap, but I also think that having a splurge resets my cravings!

I need to go cold turkey for a few days.... period due any day though so unlikely!

I'm off work next week for second half of school holidays. Need to find a good balance, don't want to go rogue all week.

What I don't get is maintenance!! I get to a weight im happy with but still feel like I have to 'diet' to keep at that weight 😳 meanwhile DH has a second dinner most nights and doesn't gain a lb 🙄

V little exercise done and too much cake. Have not managed my usual sugar free days either. Will try for one of those tomorrow but not got much hope for a loss this week.

Nutella you probably haven’t really gained 3lbs. My upswing was gone in a couple of days.

I slept from midnight yesterday till 6pm tonight. Only woke up because ds(14) came to check if I was alive.

Weighed in at 13:13.4. Official weigh in is tomorrow.

I haven't been as strict with myself this week. It's ok. Not every week can be perfect.

Yep. Then I slept another 8hrs last night.

Have checked my weigh ins and I’m 0.6 down on last Friday so a piddly loss but a loss.

Back to the gym and work on Monday so hopefully better results next week.

Glad you've got lots of sleep @TheHoneyBadger, had quite a lot last night as well. Well done on still loosing this week. 9st4.5 or might have been 9st4.25 this morning, so quite steady, but no loss. Headspace still isn't in it to to be honest, not sure when it will be again, all I want is carbs and sugar. Got my Dad coming down again next week for a few weeks, will be good to see hi but challenging.

Astonishingly despite an awful week I'm only up 1/4lb, but often I find there is a bit of a delay so I'll try and be on target this week quite firmly.
