HELLO & WELCOME! March already and the start of Spring! We’ll all feel better with the onset of warmer weather ☀️.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The founding members of these threads are inspirational and supportive in equal measure. I’m sure @SunshineCake & @halfshrunkmoretogo won’t mind me using them as Poster Girls.
They have both demonstrated that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will heap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

Thanks both. I feel really bloated and uncomfortable so hopefully that will serve as a bit of a lesson and I can do a fast day and get back on track tomorrow Smilehope you get back on track to puff.

SunshineCake · 28/03/2021 08:39

If it makes you feel even more okay about it I'm not going running today. I haven't been since Friday but I'm feeling sore so am being sensible. My next run will be my 150th so I will run even faster after two days off Grin.

joysmoy66 · 28/03/2021 08:54

Thanks sunshine. Wow 150! That's amazing! I usually take Sunday as a rest day but will go for a long walk later I think.

Very well done on the 2 stone loss @CescaNicole! I bet if you google 2 stone of fat, there will be some astonishing photo of what that looks like somewhere Grin

Hello Everyone

Started the new thread ladies.

[[https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/4206214-LOSE-IT-April-2021?watched=1 LOSE IT! April 2021]

So sorry to hear you’re unwell @SunshineCake ... wishing you a speedy recovery!

Just a quick visit. Finger won’t type and mislaid my stylus. On a positive note I tried on a new dress in size 12 and it fits. Considering how big my Twins are thats a surprise! Would like more wiggle room so I’m setting a tentative target for myself of 4lbs for April. No pressure due to health.

Have a great day everyone!

Thank you for the new thread @TheRealHousewife and congrats on your NSV with you dress! Hope you feel better soon. I still feel really tired and sick so didn't run today but I'm determined to tomorrow so I can log a real last day of the month weigh in.

132orbust · 30/03/2021 12:45

Day 85
SW:151
CW:137.75
GW:132
After the great drought of weight loss who would have thought that at 6.45 on a Tuesday morning it would restart - a whole 0.25lb.
That has taken me 3 weeks of slightly up and back to achieve too.
Anyway, it's in the right direction so......
Onwards and inwards

SunshineCake · 30/03/2021 16:33

Any loss counts @132orbust. One week I lost 0.2 lb but it was a loss so I celebrated it Grin.

I am definitely going running tomorrow. Can not wait!! Currently drinking a Baileys so need to get my backside in gear Grin. Really hoping I stayed the same as a minimum but secretly hoping for a loss of course.

Drybird2020 · 30/03/2021 22:18

I've fasted today so currently swigging herb tea and looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. I've stuck to logging calories religiously and drinking a glass of water every time I consider eating anything, so I'm pissing like a racehorse but hopefully it will have paid off, despite PMS .

CescaNicole · 30/03/2021 22:54

Haha @halfshrunkmoretogo that's amazing!!
I'm intrigued and surprised and elephants penis weighs more than it's heart! 😆

joysmoy66 · 31/03/2021 07:40

Ending the month on 10 st 2. Didn't make my target of 10 st but haven't been that strict and still lose 2 lb so am happy with that. Smaller goal of 2lb off in April. Overall goal of 9 st 10 . Hope you all have a great day!

CescaNicole · 31/03/2021 08:29

Finishing March at 10 St 2 Lb as well, so up 1lb this morning (the "officially" lost 2 stone thing lasted long 😂), and I lost 1 inch on my hips. Didn't lose any inches elsewhere. 3 lb in total lost for March which I'm happy with 😊

See you all on the April thread!

SunshineCake · 31/03/2021 10:05

Good luck for your weigh in @Drybird2020.

Well done @joysmoy66. A loss is a loss.. even if smaller than you wanted Star.

That's great stuff @CescaNicole. We are twins. I was in the 10s for only a short while, lost inches when no pounds were registering and have also gone up this week.

I have to admit I was gutted when I weighed this morning. I am up 1.2lbs on last Wednesday but my nett loss for the month is 2.6lbs. The positives are

I've just run my 150th run since I started in May.
My times are faster which means I am getting faster.
Haven't used my inhaler in 2.5 months.
I know why I haven't lost this week - no running for four days, a couple of nights when I ate when I was supposed to be fasting.

Still need a hug or maybe I need a kick up the bum.

I will try and loss the 2.4 I am over the 11 stone in April so I start May as 10 stone something. Nice way to celebrate a year of running.

TheRealHousewife · 31/03/2021 10:25

Good Morning Ladies

@SunshineCake Here’s a heartfelt hug 🤗 You’re doing great!

Copied from April.

Good Morning Ladies

@SunshineCake That as well 😊 These threads are full of generous of spirit posters who are super supportive about life in general I ❤️ you all.

@132orbust That’s a really insight piece you’ve written there! Spot on. My GW is very similar to others on this thread as I’m happy to settle for mid range bmi. My fighting weight was tiny in comparison 😬. Anyways a bit extra in reserve as you get older is good for cushioning and health reasons.

Post as little or as much as you like @Crazzzycat. It’s whatever works for you. It’s always lovely when people share and touch base when they can.

@CescaNicole I’m cheering you on for you to reach the 9s 📣 !

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo I’m in awe how consistently you’ve lost! Not just inspiring but also very impressive!

@Puffalicious You’re welcome and thank you. I’m still mainly in my 14s and I enjoy the looseness of them. All my smaller clothes that I own are ... shall we say vintage. I’m wanting to trend up a bit but not too much. I recently bought a fit and flare midi dress & linen shirt, both 12 (in sale) and was half expecting to have to return but pleased I don’t have too. All my jeans have remained smaller sizes. I’ve even got size 4 😳 but clearly they have been vanity sized. I enjoy clothes and like to look smart casual.

I had a better day yesterday (I do more than is good for me whilst I can) but suffering today. I had my Covid jab last Friday. I’ve been ok apart from waking in the night in a sweat and being unable to get back to sleep (not a great sleeper to start with). Also have a sore throat. How can you get ailments if not mixing (apart from jab).

On another note. I’ve got a ticket for Glastonbury alternative event in May. I’ve always wanted to do Glastonbury 😬

Gosh that’s a long post so must be feeling somewhat better. I’ll copy this to March thread too.

Have a great day!

@CescaNicole that’s still great progress 👍

@joysmoy66 you’re inching closer and closer to gw. You’ll do it!

It’s good that posters are re-evaluating their goals month on month. As we all come to realise, the nearer to gw we get, the slower the loss. But it all still counts. Onwards and downwards.
