HELLO & WELCOME! March already and the start of Spring! We’ll all feel better with the onset of warmer weather ☀️.

This thread is for those of us who enjoy healthy eating, exercising and feeling motivated to reach (or maintain) a healthy weight/bmi. The founding members of these threads are inspirational and supportive in equal measure. I’m sure @SunshineCake & @halfshrunkmoretogo won’t mind me using them as Poster Girls.
They have both demonstrated that if we eat right, get outside & move more your mental health will heap the rewards. Better mental health = better choices. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on these threads. We are in this together.

Jump right in! If you’re not too shy, post a bit about yourself 😊. How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

You’ll be glad you got on board this time next month 😊

End of this plateau thank goodness
Couldn’t resist the scales
Sw 16-10 mid January
Cw 14-4
Mini gw 13-7
6 pound down all in one go after after being stuck since end of feb haven’t a clue why but yay 👍

Drybird2020 · 25/03/2021 14:34

Congrats to people managing to get off the plateau! I want to be like you so am back for a kick up the arse and some inspiration. Here is a selction of my weights since Christmas;
11 st 1
11 st 0
11st 1.3
11st 0.8
10st 13.8
11st 0
11st 1.8
10st 11.3
10st 13.3
10st 12.8

...spot the pattern? I'm so tired of hovering around the 11st mark and I know in my head what I need to do so why can't I actually do it???

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 25/03/2021 14:50

@Drybird2020 starting today you will drink 2lts of water a day. Before you have a meal or snack you will have some water.

Do this for a week and then weigh and see what the scales say.

I don't know if it's actually the water, or the act of delaying food and making yourself have some water before you eat so that you think more about what you're eating, but whenever I do this for a week I end up losing.

The trick is to keep doing it which is where I fall down Grin

Today I baked a loaf of bread in the bread maker, now I'm trying to resist eating it all, had 2 slices with jalepeno primula on and it's bloody good!

TheRealHousewife · 25/03/2021 15:04

Good Afternoon Everyone

Thank you @SunshineCake and others for keeping the thread moving.

Still really unwell. A few hospital appointments still to go. Bottom line is I’ll only get worse over time, which I knew about. MRI confirms deterioration in spine. Happy to say brain remains unaffected which is a massive positive. I look for the good in everyday and remain full of gratitude for the reduced mobility I do have.

I have a favour to ask. I was wondering if I start April’s thread would someone take the reins of April’s thread? @sunshinecake seems to have developed a positive with posters (no pressure) if you’d like to do it. Or any other volunteers?

I’m hoping to be back posting regularly when I have my pain under control. Yesterday for example I had the worst headache again. Constant pain in back, joints, muscles etc. Sorry for moaning, I’m just explaining my absence.

Sending loving support to all you fabulous ladies. Take care & stay safe.

PS sorry to hear @CescaNicole about your Wedding cancellation, that must be really disappointing!

Right, doing that!! Thank you. Grin

@TheRealHousewife I am sorry to hear that you are unwell and that the news was not more positive. Thank you for these threads and the support you give everyone Flowers

SunshineCake · 25/03/2021 16:00

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo that is great advice. I have been so busy all day I've barely had any water and now have a headache so it is important to drink water for that reason too.

Huge sympathies @Drybird2020. I have been similar. I was high ten stone weights December to the middle of January then I've been 11 2, 11 1.4, 11 2.4, 11 3.2, 11 1.8, 11 2.6 etc etc until now. It's so frustrating! My win is I have only weighed myself once a week for three weeks and have gone down each time.

@TheRealHousewife Hello! So, so lovely to see you but I was so sad to read you aren't well at the moment. Is there anything you need or we can do? Happy to try and keep the threads going, no problem starting one if you need me to. We have a nice group here and it is going well.

AuldFox · 25/03/2021 16:30

@TheRealHousewife

I’m not sure of the details of your condition but I’m inspired by your resilience and really hope that the pain is alleviated soon. Do take care of yourself Flowers

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 25/03/2021 17:44

Sorry about everything you're going through @TheRealHousewife it sounds really hard ThanksThanksThanks

Squashbanana125 · 25/03/2021 18:40

Weekly weight in was 10’2 1/2 so down 1/2 a pound from last week. A little slow but in the right direction. Hopefully a good week and scale may move more next week.

fallfallfall · 25/03/2021 22:15

@TheRealHousewife, Flowers and Brew
i hope you are pain free very soon.

poshme · 26/03/2021 08:34

ThanksThanksto @TheRealHousewife

Well I was feeling frustrated & I felt like I wasn't making any progress.

But I'm now 3lb down in March, which is brilliant, and I looked at the graph on Fitbit which shows a definite downwards trend since the beginning of the year which is making me feel very positive. (Had gained at the end of Feb which was frustrating)

Sadly tried on a very nice fitted shirt that DH bought me last year and it wouldn't do up. Aiming to be able to do it up by the end of April!

I am trying to keep the water intake high- the advantage of working from home is that the loo is close by!!

Now must just resist too much wine over the weekend.

CW 66.6kg
GW 60.8kg
Loss in March 1.4kg

joysmoy66 · 27/03/2021 07:15

10st 1.6 this morning so lost 0.8 lb

CescaNicole · 27/03/2021 08:21

Well done for all recent losses, I love reading them 🤩
Also love reading where everyone is upto on their journey, helps me stay on track definitely!!! So thankyou all!

We had a cheeky takeaway last night, so I am feeling very bloated today.
My eldest walked in front of a swing yesterday and was hit in the mouth full whack 😢 these things happen but it shook me up a little - so much blood!! Shes fine though thankfully and all teeth intact.

Just started the weekend with a 40 minute fiit low impact workout.
It was hard after the salty food last night but drinking water like a fish today!!

Meal Plan:
B: Veggie Fritters
L: Lentil & Mozzarella Salad
D: Spicy Pork

Hope you all are well and have a fabulous weekend ✨

joysmoy66 · 27/03/2021 08:24

Ouch to your eldest cesca, these things happen. Hope they are ok. Well done on your workout. I plan to do mine when I have had several more coffees 🤣

TheRealHousewife · 27/03/2021 09:33

Good Morning Everyone thank you for your lovely messages, they brought tears to my eyes ❤️

It’s lovely to read all your updates. Such progress, such support and lovely friendships developing.

I’ve been prescribed pain patches as too many risks with tablets (stomach bleeds). I haven’t dared attach one yet as the packet has warning of opioid addiction :( I don’t want to become a prescription junky.

Thank you @SunshineCake for your kind offer. I’ll create April’s thread and pop on from time to time. I’d really miss not being part of these threads and hearing everyone’s progress. I’m still mindful of what I’m eating but to be honest I’m not weighing food like I was as oh is making most stuff at the moment. I’m still IF and Mediterranean diet based, absolute lifestyle change and is totally in line what my body likes. I’m not weighing myself either at the moment, choosing to be led by clothes fit, which remain stable.

OAN it lovely the restrictions are starting t lift. Might go to the coast next week for a day trip (50 minutes away) and if not too cold have a dip in the sea. My body finds seawater really therapeutic and invigorating.

This is still your group @TheRealHousewife and you will always be our leader. Post as much as you can and I hope things get better very soon.

Puffalicious · 27/03/2021 15:57

Spent the afternoon baking lemon drizzle cakes with my 2 eldest DC: exDH's birthday and one for our house. My slice was so worth the calories. (Sending you a slice virtually Realhousewife). Will now make tomato and basil soup so I can feel virtuous!

SunshineCake · 27/03/2021 20:32

I'm having a night off from 18 hour fasting and have enjoyed four chocolates from my box of Hotel Chocolate that my BIL gave me for Christmas. We all deserve a treat, @Puffalicious!

joysmoy66 · 27/03/2021 20:47

I've eaten a ridiculous amount today 🙄Saturday is my treat day but I've took it to far today. So annoyed with myself but will try to draw a line under it and start fresh tomorrow.

joysmoy66 · 27/03/2021 21:34

Thinking of maybe a fast day tomorrow to try and balance things out 🤨

SunshineCake · 27/03/2021 22:12

We've not done anything terrible. We've just eaten food!

Puffalicious · 27/03/2021 23:07

You're right Sunshinecake. I wobbled off track today too. Will perhaps fast tomorrow or go under 800 at least. It's never not fixable.
