Hello & Welcome

Following on from the September thread...

This year is going by so quickly; before we know it festive movies will be on the TV and we'll be prepping for Christmas. I for one am going the extra mile to make it special for my beloved family and bugger C19 (must add we won’t be breaking the rule of 6!)

Every year part of my Christmas prep includes going all out to feel that bit healthier, fitter and slimmer. I’m happy to say this year I’m ahead of the game due to the people and support on these LOSE IT! threads. Thank you!

If you yourself want to feel healthier, fitter and a little bit more svelte, jump on board, there’s plenty of room. The ladies already here are supportive and knowledgeable!

This bit is copied from my post on here.

Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 40lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up in a few short weeks! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with lite weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

@Aurorie11 job hunting is soul destroying but the right job will come along, good hunting and try not to let it get you down.

Yesterday on a whim I dug out a dress that's lurked in the back of my wardrobe since 2013 unworn as I couldn't get into it. It only bloody fitted! Not a perfect fit still a little snug around the arms and chest but I could get into it and breathe!

Aurorie11 · 04/10/2020 08:05

Yay! Great NSV @FatGirlShrinking

MrsJonesAndMe · 04/10/2020 16:41

Hi all

Another quick check in. Life so busy! Feeling much better and had my flu jab yesterday so arm a bit sore.

Scales have dipped to 9.8kg so that's not too bad all in all. No motivation with all the rain, but back to walking M-F of course.

Well done on joining the gym and the dress @FatGirlShrinking

Check in with you all soon

SunshineCake · 04/10/2020 17:46

Well done *@FatGirlShrinking. It is great when N item of clothing becomes wearable again. I've had a couple and it is like new clothes!

Haven't run since Wednesday so really hoping I can tomorrow.

Well done *@MrsJonesAndMe. Dh and I are having our flu jabs his week but I've been coughing a bit today. Eek.

Candacewasalwaysright · 04/10/2020 18:16

Hello and thanks for the welcome!

Not planning to weigh myself again until next Friday, so will see what this week brings.

I am also a member of the huge boobs club, am sure I'm carrying a good half a stone on them! Fortunately I don't suffer with upper back pain because of them, my issues are all lower back and hip flexors. I think I quite literally tip forward because of their weight. Getting as much off them as possible is my primary goal, actually, as far as how low I'd like my weight to go. When I'm at a settled weight I am also seriously thinking about having a reduction and lift. I had a mammogram this week and was chatting to the technician and she said that she's never had a woman in who regretted a breast reduction, so who knows?

Bit of a bad day yesterday in that I ate rather a lot of garlic bread. DD made dinner as I was outside gardening all day and it was just the two of us at home. Very healthy and tasty bean and corn and broccoli dish, so not all was lost.

Making a giant cottage pie for dinner to last us a few days, will mix cauliflower into the mashed potato and a load of veg into the mince, so relatively healthy.

SunshineCake · 04/10/2020 18:43

I did once weigh my boobs and I can confirm they can and do weigh 7lbs Grin. Each.

I've weighed mine once too. Surprisingly hefty Grin Eating-wise I've done alright for the back end of the week. I'm going to really push out carbs this coming week though. Should suit me like when I dropped about 6 kg last year.

Mmm, maybe I should try and weigh mine, it might make me feel better Grin
fallfallfall · 04/10/2020 19:17

I’m pleased I went through with the breast reduction. LS does HIIT on almost all her videos so I know I wouldn’t have participated to my fullest.
So I think it’s led to increased physical activity.
I’m hoping to deal with the belly on my own.
My scale isn’t working well since the latest IOS upgrade.
I’m on a good/bad 3 week plateau.

AIMD · 05/10/2020 01:07

Can I join?
Want to seriously diet after weighing myself and realising that I am the heaviest I have ever been.
Also just checked my BMI and for the first time ever that has come in the overweight category.

I think I want to loose about 1-1.5 stone and will try doing it via calorie counting and exercise like running and walking.

Any tips for motivation will be appreciated.
I am particularly bad with eating u healthy food late in the evening.

TheRealHousewife · 05/10/2020 08:44

Good Morning All

@MrsJonesAndMe you must be really petite at 9.8kg 😬

@Candacewasalwaysright my OH prepped beef, carrots & onion yesterday for a cottage pie today. Great minds think alike. One mammogram I went for; the technician got my boob positioned on the plate, then she wandered off muttering ‘gonna need considerably bigger plates’ ... 😳😅

Welcome @AIMD, jump right in 😊

Zoom yoga later today ... really not in the mood but will force myself and JUST DO IT.

Home made soup for lunch, cottage pie (Sweet potato & carrot top) and veg later. Got to get that water in 💧 ... one of my downfalls is not drinking enough.

Have a good week!

Sounds like big boobs abound on this thread 😁 I was that 10 yr old that everyone thought was 16, now I'm what could politely called 'curvy' or 'voluptuous', 5ft 8, big hips, F cup boobs and currently big belly although that's reducing slowly. I will never be a skinny person!

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 10:58

Hi everyone and welcome *@AIMD.

I need my gang today. Just waiting for doctor to ring as DS2 blood results are in. They aren't good. First got a message saying ring to discuss ASAP then before I had chance another message saying appointment has been booked for you. I forwent my run and just did 19km on the bike instead so I'd be by the phone.

Can't think of anything else but him so will chat later.

Have a good day everyone.

Galvantula · 05/10/2020 11:33

@SunshineCake virtual hand holding, sounds like a tough day. Flowers

@FatGirlShrinking I remember my "chest" being discussed by my mum at around that age - i was mortified! 😳😳 Mine are a lot reduced after losing weight at the moment, but will still never be little. 😅 I also don't think I'll ever be super skinny, I have a young friend at work who is just a totally different shape to me. Feeling happier at the moment than i have for a long time though.

I'm also relating to your bag lady comment - my work trousers are comically loose right now. But I'm worried if I order the smaller size this year they'll be uncomfortable. 🤔 maybe I can get one smaller one to try. ( they're supplied by work).

I've a few hours of day left while all the kids are at school, must go and achieve things.

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/10/2020 13:23

Any news @SunshineCake??? PM me if you want...

Ha ha ha @TheRealHousewife that's the loss not the total weight probably one arm or leg may weigh that Blush And can't remember whether I answered you or not, but yes I'm a CM.

All this talk of big chests and I have very little!

It's been a very Monday-ey Monday, hope a bit better for everyone else.

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 14:50

Hi again and thanks for thinking of us @Galvantula and @MrsJonesAndMe. The doctor was very confused why DS2 had had the tests he had and then after speaking to me said he wasn't a well boy and she needed to speak to a paediatrician. Before I'd even dressed after my shower she asked me to take him to the surgery. She has checked him over and all his observations are fine so she sent us to hospital for a chest x-ray. We await the results and then have a repeat blood test in a month.

I'm a nervous wreck. He's quite happy as he's got the afternoon off school and is eating hotdogs that dh bought him. Grr.

Weight is down. Stress is up.

fallfallfall · 05/10/2020 15:05

@SunshineCake, positive thoughts coming to DS and you on the jet stream.

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 17:11

Thank you very much *@fallfallfall. I'm trying not to fret but I am scared. I can't deny it.

fallfallfall · 05/10/2020 17:23

@SunshineCake, i have broad shoulders and up long after the UK time zone so if ever need be just message for an ear.

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 18:36

Thanks again *@fallfallfall. The next month will drag. He says he feels fine and I am thinking of the questions I should have asked but with ds there I didn't want to worry him.

fallfallfall · 05/10/2020 20:03

@SunshineCake, i understand. would the dr. consider a phone appointment or is the practice open to e-mail questions? or is there any point until further test results are back?

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 20:13

I'm wondering whether the doctor asked questions of the paediatrician and they said what the doctor was concerned about wasn't the issue and that was why she didn't mention it again. I'll keep a close eye on him and hopefully it I'll just be a blip. He says he feels fine.

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/10/2020 20:59

How worrying.... but I'm guessing if it was urgent they wouldn't be waiting a month to repeat the bloods. Thinking of you x

SunshineCake · 05/10/2020 21:34

I really don't know. I think the doctor might be thinking more he had a virus and she was happy his heart, chest, blood pressure and temperature were all fine. The repeat bloods are to make sure I think.

TheRealHousewife · 06/10/2020 08:33

Sending hugs @SunshineCake Hope your ds is ok.
