Hello & Welcome

Following on from the September thread...

This year is going by so quickly; before we know it festive movies will be on the TV and we'll be prepping for Christmas. I for one am going the extra mile to make it special for my beloved family and bugger C19 (must add we won’t be breaking the rule of 6!)

Every year part of my Christmas prep includes going all out to feel that bit healthier, fitter and slimmer. I’m happy to say this year I’m ahead of the game due to the people and support on these LOSE IT! threads. Thank you!

If you yourself want to feel healthier, fitter and a little bit more svelte, jump on board, there’s plenty of room. The ladies already here are supportive and knowledgeable!

This bit is copied from my post on here.

Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 40lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up in a few short weeks! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with lite weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

@MrsJonesAndMe you're not wrong!

I have a feeling if we were to wake up tomorrow and the sun had disappeared we'd all just shrug and say 'yup, that's about right, it's 2020 after all' and crack on Grin

salad49 · 18/10/2020 08:00

Morning all, sorry I seemed to join the thread and then run, I don't know where the last 2 weeks has gone really.

Feeling very sorry for myself today, I was down to 12st4 last week, so 4lb over 2 weeks, which I was feeling good about even though it was probably just water weight, but then have seen no movement at all this week! I've been exercising everyday (bike/rowing machine or long hilly walks with the pushchair) and have really been watching what I eat. I've kept calories in to between 1200 and 1400 every day, which is around 200 more than I would do if I was trying to lose without breastfeeding, and I definitely haven't got any issues with milk supply.

Last night DH wanted a Chinese, I didn't but he persuaded me, I probably had half but had instant regret afterwards because it just wasn't worth all the extra calories, I then spent the rest of the night in a sulk.

I've just been looking over my weightloss from last year before I got pregnant and from when I started on January 1st to January 17th I lost 7lb, I guess I was expecting to see the same again this time round.

Apologies for the long post, I think I just needed to vent to some people who would understand.

Today is a new day though I suppose. Hope you're all enjoying your weekends Smile

SunshineCake · 18/10/2020 08:27

Hang in there @salad49. If you aware going to go over calories it has to be something that you really enjoy and is worth it. Your dh needs to be more supportive and accept if you say no. He can still get a takeaway if he wants. Making you have one so he doesn't feel guilty is just crap behaviour. Today is a new day. Have lots of fresh fruit and veg and protein and you'll be back on track.

Today I am taking doggy to the beach so I she can have chips Grin.

salad49 · 18/10/2020 08:59

Thankyou @SunshineCake, I totally agree that extra calories have to be on something I really like. I don't really think I can blame dh unfortunately, he offered to go get me my favourite takeaway and I said no, I'll just get something from the Chinese Hmm wish I'd just stuck to my guns and made something though.

Enjoy your chips day at the beach!

Candacewasalwaysright · 18/10/2020 15:33

@salad49 perhaps you're one of the unlucky women who can't lose much weight while breastfeeding? I was and I got so disheartened, friends I'd made at ante natal classes seemed to be getting thinner every week and my baby weight came off so slowly.

I just tried to focus on eating well and moving about and not get too upset about still being what I felt to be huge. It did come off eventually after I'd stopped breastfeeding, and I felt that the payoff of me being fatter for longer was worth being able to breastfeed.

SunshineCake · 18/10/2020 17:25

That's good @salad49 and it is all a learning curve. Once you are in the zone, and see results, it gets easier to keep going.

Lovely time at the beach. Doggy had the best time. Paddled, shouted at the waves, sat nicely for her chips Grin.

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 18/10/2020 18:39

So healthy breakfast, soup for lunch and pie for tea! Only had a small bit though and still seem to be within my allowed calories. I'm making sure I dont pick at food. Really hope I've got the willpower to keep this up.

SunshineCake · 18/10/2020 21:49

. Please keep trying. Months ago I was sulking and stamping my feet as I wasn't losing or was losing the same couple of pounds over and over, and then something clicked and I'm now 18lbs lost, go running, cycle at home and feel so much better about myself. Believe me, if I can do it with all my issues then so can you.

We are all here to support and help each other.

fallfallfall · 18/10/2020 21:53

i hope everyone is hanging in there, 12 days till the end of the month.
I'm crazy busy, and doing my best to fit in all the exercise i need to succeed with this months apple watch challenge. 1000 move calories per day.
the scale isn't budging much .5 lbs loss if that.
but i feel good so i will try to push on with the challenge although i honestly feel the amount of time i need to commit to this is nuts.
new keyboard and desktop not yet configured so bear with me on the typos.

FatGirlShrinking · 19/10/2020 08:14

Bad weekend! Naughty, naughty weekend of pasta and bread. Scales are showing it too so I need to be better today and tomorrow with lots of water.

SunshineCake · 19/10/2020 12:46

@fallfallfall was that a 5lb loss or half a pound loss? Your win is that you feel good!

Doesn't matter @FatGirlShrinking unless you didn't enjoy the fresh bread and pasta!

I did my 73rd run this morning before I took ds to school. Was thwarted by a barking dog so just did 6.42km but was good to be out. I don't like the weekend off but I will stick to it as I can see myself going every day which is too much.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Dinner today is fish, salad, new potatoes and tender stem broccoli.

fallfallfall · 19/10/2020 14:51

@SunshineCake, half a pound so far. But I feel fit. I know the weight will come down. How’s your DS?

SunshineCake · 19/10/2020 15:00

Feeling fit is a great NSV!

DS is okay, thank you. Will have repeat blood tests in two weeks, though looking at the form the GP hasn't ordered the more obscure ones to be redone, so not sure if they will be that helpful. But the main thing is he feels okay, thank goodness!

FatGirlShrinking · 20/10/2020 09:26

Ok, good day yesterday and scales are back where they were, would like for them to creep down into the next pound by tomorrow so I don't have a 'stayed the same' week.

I have my meals planned for today and water getting cold in the fridge as that always helps me to drink lots.

DD is at home this week for half term, DH has time off work to play while I WFH. I always find it hard to stay on track weekends and holidays as I seem to eat more often with my little snack fiend DD.

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/10/2020 12:54

Hi all

Well done for getting back on the wagon @FatGirlShrinking

Busy beaver @fallfallfall you must be really fit!

Congrats on the running @SunshineCake

Breastfeeding can indeed mess with everything @salad49, so be a bit patient with yourself. You've spent 9 months growing a new life and now you are still single handedly keeping that new baby alive with your milk - that's a super power if ever there was one!

You can do it @Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese

I've weighed early today, but total loss is 10.1kg so maintaining Smile

SunshineCake · 20/10/2020 14:13

Also hello to @Foreverlexicon.

Hi everyone.

I have been running yesterday and today. Didn't have time to do 10km but I'm going more often and I have had a win so happy. I did a different route today and have already planned a tweak to it for tomorrow.

Just had some scampi and lemon fries and put half the pack bag as I had had enough Shock. Old me would have mindlessly eating all of them.

Dinner is roast chicken and I have already made mash and prepared roast potatoes for dh.

Shortly I'm taking doggy to the vet as she has a sore ear.

With all your crazy busy life's, make sure you take some time for yourself and if you can't make your partner do more.

FatGirlShrinking · 20/10/2020 21:15

Week 4 c25K is a bugger. That progression from 3min jog to 5 min is a big jump!

Ate well today, had my water, did my jog/walk. I'm hoping for good news in the morning.

SunshineCake · 20/10/2020 22:08

I'd forgotten Wednesday is weigh day. I weigh after every run. Dh says I can't run until I feel better but I'm ok when running.

Good luck for your next run, @FatGirlShrinking, and tomorrow's weigh in.

Ellsloosingit · 20/10/2020 23:56

Hey

I need the motivation and I'm using online as my tool to help kick start this.

Iv been stuck at the 18st mark for 4 weeks after loosing 32lbs. It's so frustrating but my motivation has gone to 0!

However reading these comments has helped and so I was to loose atleast 5lbs by the end of october! Start november right!

I'm blogging my progress along with other things if your interested 😊

ellesloosingit.wordpress.com/

Will get my butt into gear and get going! I know my issue is lack of excercise and then that brings about binge eating.

Good luck all! Tomorrow is a new day! 💪

21/10/2020 - 201lb, BMI 30.6

Total loss since starting - 32lb

Trisolaris · 21/10/2020 09:10

Hey, not much progress for me. I’m at 59.1kg this week but I’ve been quite relaxed about my eating as I’ve been visiting the family before we go into Tier 2 this week. I’d like to be consistently under 59kg by the end of the month.

I have managed two 30 minute runs so I’m pleased with that. It’s looking rainy this week though so not sure how much I’ll get out. Also tricat gets her leg chopped off tomorrow so will need me here for support!

CescaNicole · 21/10/2020 10:35

My WOW update:

Start Weight: 12st 1lb
09/10/20: 12st 0lb (-1lb)
14/10/20: 11st 11lb (- 3lb)
21/10/20: 11st 10lb (-1lb)
Total loss: 5lb

Only 1lb off this week but still progress in the right direction. The week has been a little stressful trying to organise this last minute wedding we booked, and have also had some family drama surrounding it all. A wedding wouldn't be a wedding without a little drama right?!
I had my dress fitting yesterday so I actually need to be careful not to lose too much over the next 8 weeks or it will be too big. I don't really think that will happen though.
The past week I have done 2 x 1 hour long walks with the pram/baby carrier. I was also inspired by @Candacewasalwaysright and did a body combat and body attack workout from YouTube. They are most definitely not suitable for post partum but I really enjoy them.

How much water does everyone drink per day roughly? I'm aiming for 2 litres but I'm so rubbish at it!! I have only actually achieved that about 5 days of the month.

@salad49 I'm definitely with you on the breastfeeding thing halting everything up. Its so frustrating!!
@Ellsloosingit I love a good blog so will definitely be following along Smile

Hope everyone is doing good!!

SunshineCake · 21/10/2020 13:10

Welcome to our newbies.

@FatGirlShrinking you are star pupil Star. Well done.

Poor little @Trisolaris Cat. SunshineCat1, SunshineCat2, SunshineCat3 and SunshineDog all send best wishes. You might not have gone down much but you haven't gone up loads and you've exercised.

Well done @CescaNicole and good look with the wedding plans. I hope it all goes well.

Hi to @TheRealHousewife, @TheRealHousewife and @MrsJonesAndMe.

I nearly fainted when I saw the scales this morning. I am 1.4lb down with total month loss so far of 4lbs. Very happy. Lowest I've been for nine ish years.

I have run every week so far and very happy about that.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

fallfallfall · 21/10/2020 17:00

Not weighting in as it’s a 0600 morning start for our market day :), I picked up the cutest little red cabbage. I have given myself permission to not attempt this months Apple Watch challenge. It was all consuming and interfering with life as I know it.
I’m not gaining and have seen 141 a couple times so new low numbers.
My triathlete neighbor complimented me on how great I looked :), gave me some hints on how to improve my lunges.
My DD, is equally athletic and I consulted her as well. So I’ve now found the spot to do them (we’re talking 8-10, nothing insane), where I can support myself for balance. And discovered a better foot position.

RomanMum · 22/10/2020 05:27

Another early start. Roll on half term. Lost 1lb. Got to first target. Yay! Now the hard bit. Would like fo lose for next week, that's my goal.
