Morning all! Welcome to the monthly thread for 7lbs/3kg per month! All are welcome whether new or old. There is a huge varieties of diets and exercise regime and loads of helpful hints.

All I ask for is the positivity and support that's been shown in every single one of these threads so far. You are all AMAZING!

Despite only losing 3 of my planned 7lbs last month I am ON IT for September and working hard for a much better loss.

My total loss so far is 8 stone and 2lbs and I still have 4 stone to go. Breaking it down into these half stone targets makes it feel much more manageable for me :)

Link to previous thread is here per month - its August! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosschat/3983285-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-its-august

Hello my lovelies.

Still feeling pretty rotten @Howmanysleepsnow and @DownUdderer. Managed to get a home test delivered yesterday which has gone back today. God it made my eyes water!!!

Weight hasn't moved but I've been so ill that I've not expected it to. I've not felt healthy or fit at all.

Lovely DH has made a sweet and sour quorn for tonight which I will have with brown rice. I'll restrict carbs more once I feel better.

@NerrSnerr I hope your DD is feeling better? My 11 year old is quite prone to a UTI. Last time the GP said is really common in pre teen girls night go have just started periods and puberty so we need to keep an eye out and make sure she is drinking enough. I've just ordered her one of those water bottles with the times on to encourage her to drink when she is at school.

Thanks @cricketmum84. My little girl is only 6 but it's been ongoing for about 3 years. She's much better today and is bouncing around and should be asleep considering she was awake from 10pm- 1am last night!!

DownUdderer · 22/09/2020 23:11

I'm due my period today or tomorrow and I'm not sure how it's going to effect weightloss. I'll just have to see in a few days!

Sorry to hear about uti's they're rotten.
I hope you don't have coronavirus cricket!

Howmanysleepsnow · 23/09/2020 07:56

Weighed in this morning at 10st 2lb. Maybe my weekend off helped? Definitely back on it now, as this is the lowest I’ve been since 2016!

NerrSnerr · 23/09/2020 07:57

Morning all. I'm 11st 3 this morning so that's 7lbs off for September. Hoping to get a little bit more off before the end of the month so I can get to the 10s as soon as possible.

I'm still feeling tired today but going to take my 3 year old swimming once the eldest is at school. He lost a lot of confidence over lockdown in the water but he asked me this morning if we can go swimming.

Howmanysleepsnow · 23/09/2020 08:01

@NerrSnerr well done, that’s brilliant! And still a week to go!

cricketmum84 · 23/09/2020 08:01

Morning all :)

Still feeling horrendous and coughing all sorts of rubbish up. Weirdly I actually kinda hope I do get a positive test as at least then I won't be terrified about catching it every I go out!

Amazing @NerrSnerr wish I could get close to the 7lb target! God knows what's going on with me but my losses are just so bloody slow at the moment!

Plan for today is:
B - soy yoghurt and special k flakes
L - vegan cauli cheese soup (made with nutritional yeast so no fatty cheese in it)
D - quorn sausage and veg

Have a lovely Wednesday!

Thankyou @Howmanysleepsnow and @cricketmum84 . @cricketmum84 I hope you get your results back soon and you feel better soon.

Fornit · 23/09/2020 09:16

Could I join the thread please. I know it's almost the end of the month but maybe I could lose a pound?
Some fantastic losses on this thread. It's very inspiring.
Am 11st 12 right now but am very short.
Would love to lose a stone to start with.

Heffersclub · 23/09/2020 10:56

Just found this! I'm joining to get some advice and I'll do the proper challenge in October from the start ...

GetTheStartyParted · 23/09/2020 11:10

Well done @Howmanysleepsnow and @NerrSnerr Star

Hi and welcome @Fornit and @Heffersclub

Sorry to hear you're still unwell @cricketmum84 Look after yourself Flowers

I'm worn out! I started work at 3am, I have done 12,000 steps already today. I finished work and went and swam 1km. Going to have some brunch and then soak my aching bones in a hot bath Grin

DrivingAgain2020 · 23/09/2020 16:09

I think colds are doing the rounds now. Unrelated to weight loss but I just had a blood test and they had to do two needles as could not get the first one. Arm sore now.

Think I have lost a pound this week. I planned my meals using a calorie counter, it seems to work for me as it takes away having to make so many decisions-which when I am tired are my downfall!

I do think the higher/lower carb days is good too but works better with an exercise routine, keen to try that when I get to the maintenance stage as it feels a bit more intuitive.

Finding the small decisions are often the big wins, or at least they add up to them. I went into town today and almost decided that I deserved a Baskin Robbins icecream just because I should, almost got to the counter then decided nah. Realised I am just really tired today. The weather seems to reflect the mood of the nation lol. We can do this!

I do have some treats planned...making a crumble one day as it is a lovely comforting seasonal dish.

DownUdderer · 24/09/2020 00:22

I've bought some low carb crackers to try, some look ok, some look gross! I'll have to try them to see what they taste of, maybe they'll just taste of cardboard!

cricketmum84 · 24/09/2020 08:17

@DownUdderer a number of threads ago someone told me about their seeded high protein crackers that they made, I had a go and they were gorgeous. It was just chia seeds soaked in water until you get that gloopy egg white texture then stir in whatever mixed seeds and nuts you fancy with seasoning (I think I used rosemary, garlic and salt and pepper) then you spread it thinly on a baking tray and throw in the oven. Can't remember how long to cook it but basically until it's golden and looking crispy then you can break them up. Might be nicer than cardboard!

Sorry no veg pics this week @recklessgran. I totally over ordered last week and the produce just lasts so long! I've got one coming Monday though :)

Welcome @Fornit and @Heffersclub ;)

Had a giddy evening and couldn't sleep last night!! I haven't had caffeine in months but decided to drink 3 cups of tea in a row to help my chest feel a little better and i got a caffeine hit lol. It was quite funny.

Plan for today is:
B - soy yoghurt and muesli
L - leftover portion of black bean chilli and quinoa
D - creamy mushrooms

Have a lovely Thursday everyone!

I’m another lb down today. My weight seems to be going in fits and starts now. I plateau for a couple of weeks, then lose 2-3lb in a few days, as improbable as that seems.
Anyway, I’m at 10st 1lb so the lowest I’ve been in 6 years. I was aiming for 9st 7lb, but I’m wondering now if that might be too low. I’m 5’6” so it’d be right in the middle of the healthy range, hence why I picked it, but looking at how my body is changing shape I’m wondering if it’s necessary to go that low. My stomach is close to flat (in the morning at least!) and only sticks out maybe just less than an inch. My waist has gone from 33” to 28.5”. Has anyone else revised their weight loss goals upwards? Part of me feels I should, but part of me feels it’d be quitting!

recklessgran · 24/09/2020 08:29

Morning all and welcome to @Heffersclub and @Fornit - hope you'll be very happy here.
Still hovering in the 12's eating biscuits although I have kept off the bread completely wich is no mean feat!
Tuna and tomatoes for lunch and sausages and cauli/broccoli cheese planned for dinner.
Middle 3 DGC are coming today after school and have requested cottage pie for dinner and Daim Almondy tart for dessert. I won't have any trouble resisting either of those but DH will enjoy it.
Hope you start to feel better soon @cricketmum84, there are some awful things going around now schools are back - hope it's nothing more serious than that but completely get your point about getting it over and done with!!

NerrSnerr · 24/09/2020 09:24

Morning all and welcome @Fornit and @Heffersclub. I have loved these threads, everyone is very supportive, especially when you're on the naughty step!

Nice to see you around @recklessgran, hope things are calming down for you. Well done on keeping off the bread, I don't think I could manage that.

We're having a quiet day today, eldest at school and it's my day off so I'm home with the 3 year old. We may go out puddle jumping this morning as I need to post a letter. No idea about food yet, probably some wholewheat pasta with cheese and vegetables. That's my staple.

DownUdderer · 24/09/2020 11:06

@cricketmum84 that idea to make crackers is a great idea! I would never have thought of anything like that! I bought chia seeds just the other day. Rosemary seasoning sounds good.

Howmanysleeps it's funny how weightloss doesn't follow a straight line, it can be different for us all and different during the month etc etc

I'm going for a walk tomorrow, I'll aim for maybe 8km. I've got to drop the car off for a service so I'll walk home but I'll walk around a few different roads to get my steps in.

I'm thinking about maybe making soup tomorrow if I can be bothered, I've got cold roast chicken to be used up.

crivit · 24/09/2020 15:16

I'm bouncing around all over the place post-gastro. Was at 66.6kg again this morning (is the world trying to tell me to be devilish?). Have acidophilus on order and using the last of an old tub until they hopefully arrive tomorrow.

@Howmanysleepsnow - a weekend off can definitely help. Sort of a reset button. Congratulations to both you and @NerrSnerr for the losses 😁

Hello to both @Fornit and @Heffersclub 😊

Love the chia seed crispbread idea @cricketmum84 !

@Howmanysleepsnow - If the weight is still coming off and you're still feeling good then I'd carry on. If it's heading towards unhealthy, stop.

DownUdderer · 25/09/2020 07:09

Recovering from gastro must be quite hard going. It's been a few years since I had it, but I remember just eating anything was a win because your stomach really can get out of wack. Look after yourself and build up your strength.

DownUdderer · 25/09/2020 07:12

I've walked 11.37km today, a bit more than I had planned because I forgot the footbridge at the end of the road is shut for repairs, so I had to double back and follow the detour!

I listened to the secret world of slimming clubs podcast today, I've been listening along to it for ages, I always find it funny!

peanutbutterdog · 25/09/2020 12:27

I have managed this week to lose the princely sum of 0.5 lbs bringing me to 11st 11lbs, a 4lbs loss this month. Its very frustrating but at least its going downwards.

Well done to those who are recording better losses than mine, and get well to anyone struggling with illness.

Howmanysleepsnow · 25/09/2020 14:19

@peanutbutterdog it’s still a loss though, and well done for keeping going! It’s always so much harder when you hit a bit of a plateau isn’t it?
@DownUdderer I was wondering for a minute how you’d managed to fit in such a huge walk before 07.30am, then I noticed your username! Are you in Australia?

Shedtheload · 25/09/2020 16:30

Well done everyone for your losses. Great news. I have been feeling a bit rough the past few days and anxiety has been really bad even though I normally keep it well under control. I am going to give myself a break I think and not weigh until next week at the start of October as I know I haven’t been good with my diet lately.
