Morning all! Welcome to the monthly thread for 7lbs/3kg per month! All are welcome whether new or old. There is a huge varieties of diets and exercise regime and loads of helpful hints.

All I ask for is the positivity and support that's been shown in every single one of these threads so far. You are all AMAZING!

Despite only losing 3 of my planned 7lbs last month I am ON IT for September and working hard for a much better loss.

My total loss so far is 8 stone and 2lbs and I still have 4 stone to go. Breaking it down into these half stone targets makes it feel much more manageable for me :)

Link to previous thread is here per month - its August! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosschat/3983285-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-its-august

I'm so pleased its good news for your ds, GetTheStartyParted - its bad luck for him for 6 months but that time will fly.

@peanutbutterdog thank you - it will, I mean the last 6 have flown for sure!

What a relief @GetTheStartyParted- I'm sure those 6 months will fly by for him- fingers crossed it heals so he doesn't need surgery.

I have been feeling a bit stressed today and I'm not sure why but I have managed to stick with my calories and made it to my yoga class. I'm going to have beans on toast for tea as some comfort food. My eldest has been complaining of feeling a bit unwell (luckily not a cough or a temp) so we're keeping an eye on her and hoping nothing will come from it.

GetTheStartyParted, I'm glad your son had a good doctors visit. Such a relief for you!

I managed one whole day without cheese! I might try the same today, it really helps that we've run out of cheddar! I had to really concentrate not to use grated cheese as a garnish!

I have to concentrate most of the time to avoid bad habits! I find if I promise myself I can any type of treat I want maybe at the weekend I can be good, sort of delayed gratification.

I think I feel better mentally with low carb, I have a clearer mind and don't get the anxiety feeling in my stomach.

Good luck everyone.

Thank you!

I'm going out for brunch today, I've read the menu and decided what I'm having so its easy to stick to. Portobello benedict.

I tried a paleo granola with cream for breakfast (ravenous after work, can't wait until 12!), it was delicious.

Dinner will be chicken drumsticks with vegetables.

I'm worn out after a sleepless few weeks, worrying. Back to normality at last.

Well done @DownUdderer

@NerrSnerr I hope that both you and your DD feel a bit brighter soon Flowers

I haven't weighed but had a NSV at the weekend when I wore a pair of size 12 hiking trousers I've not worn for ages and there was space at the waist Shock inspired by the home edit I was rearranging my wardrobe yet again and that's how I found them
Now, I'm going back to catch up.

Report
NerrSnerr · 16/09/2020 16:20

That's a great NSV @JessJonesJumps I can't wait to get back into my size 12s I have loads of jeans and trousers in size 12s and 10 waiting for me to fit into them! The 10s are pre children so I haven't worn them for almost 7 years so it'll be like having a new wardrobe again.

I'm down to 11st 5 so that's 5lbs off in September so far so still on track. Only one pound to go and I'll no longer be obese (and then 2 stone to go to be in the healthy range!)

I'm down a pound this morning! I'm so happy! I didn't have cheese yesterday, so two days no cheese! I'm definitely having some today!

I had egg mayo with toast last night for dinner, yum.

Fitting back into old trousers is a great achievement! I've got two new skirts that only just do up, I haven't worn them out yet as I'm scared of bursting out, especially if I sat down!

Everyone is doing so well, well done!
I weighed myself last week and was 4ib down from my starting weight which I was super happy about, fast forward to today and I’ve just weighed myself a week later and have gained 2ib 😬 I have been mainly good but did eat too many biscuits at work over the weekend but would that really cause a 2ib gain? I think maybe I need some new scales! Oh well, I’m into the swing of things now hopefully next week will be better. My son started school yesterday so I did loads of walking dropping him off and collecting him, 17000 steps by bedtime!

Hey all, so glad it's Friday tomorrow!

Have been doing relatively well with a calorie deficit each day but no further movement from the scales. Had a lovely homemade lunch today of toasted sourdough topped with garlic and thyme mushrooms. Dinner is a leftover portion of quorn keema curry and cauli rice.

Still doing the yoga practice each morning but unfortunately no sat morning sessions for the next 2 weeks :(

Huge well done on all the losses and I'm so glad it was good news with your DS @GetTheStartyParted

Got a bit of a busy evening so I will start catching up with the thread properly in the morning!

Thanks Smile

Well done for staying on track @cricketmum84

I've felt exhausted all week, TOTM and finally being able to relax means I've crashed! I've still been making good food choices but have been unable to swim and not mustered the energy to do any other exercise.

I'm having a day of doing a bit of housework and relaxing. Have a lovely Friday everyone.

Well done, NerrSnerr - you are doing really well this month. I have lost 1lb, bringing me to 11st 11.5lb so 2.5lb this month so far. Don't think I will manage 7lbs overall but still pleased its moving downwards and glad to be well into the 11s and not just hovering on the edge.

@GetTheStartyParted good news about your son. You must be so relieved.

I’ve been stuck at 10st 3lb for the last 8 days, and gained 0.5lb today despite being good. I’m going to just stick at it and hope there’s movement soon!

DownUdderer · 18/09/2020 09:25

@Dottydoodoo drink loads of water, flush the weight down the toilet!! Honestly drinking lots of water helps me so much :)

I've had a good day food wise. Bolognese sauce without pasta, deli meats and salad, yogurt, banana, handful of nuts. Lots of water.

I had a long walk today, really enjoyable.

Thanks @Howmanysleepsnow I hope the scales reward your efforts soon!

@NerrSnerr I have just read your post - so excited for you. I was so pleased to become 'only overweight'. 5lbs so far this month is wonderful.

@JessJonesJumps Well done, I love a good NSV.

@peanutbutterdog 2.5lbs is good progress. My loss has slowed down now but I just look at the positives. Its slowed because I don't have as much to lose, and overall it's still on its way down.

@Dottydoodoo keep making good choices and it will happen. @DownUdderer is right, drink lots of water. It works miracles Grin

Hi again all. I disappeared for a few days as I was having a bad run emotionally. Was going to start posting again on Wednesday with my weight not having changed much but then I got ill. A gastro thing caught from one of the children I work with. Even discussing food gave my waves of nausea... On the down side I feel drained. Went out for a short walk earlier and that's me for the day I think. On the plus side, I'm down to 65.3kg which is about 2kg less than the start of the month. Probably all come back once I eat a little more again but I can hope 😁

Some good S and NSV I see in the thread!

Shedtheload · 18/09/2020 14:40

@crivit sorry to hear that you’ve had a rough time physically and emotionally. Hope you start to feel better. And yes, the one silver lining to gastro stuff! I remember once when I had norovirus and lost nearly half a stone.

NerrSnerr · 18/09/2020 18:00

Thank you for the kind words. I'm in the zone at the moment so trying to keep it up for as long as I can before I end up on the naughty step again- I know it'll happen at some point.

I hope you feel better soon @crivit and hope some of the weight stays off.

I have been busy with work today and been swimming with my daughter. Hoping the children go to sleep early so we can have a relaxing evening after a hectic week!

I'm 3lb down from last Saturday. Its already Saturday morning because I'm in Australia! I'm so pleased! I weighed this morning and stayed the same as yesterday, then an hour later I did a wee and weighed again and was actually down a pound!! Amazing!

I will have water in a bit and then I'll have a yogurt at 10:30, that gives me 16.5 hours fasting from yesterday's dinner.

I'm really happy that the scale is moving down it puts me in a good mood, I know I have to remember that I can't get grumpy if I hit a plateau, I know the scales shouldn't rule my mood!

Well done on the losses @DownUdderer and @DrivingAgain2020.

I am now 11st 4 so I am officially overweight. I'm slowly getting towards the 10s which'll be a nice milestone.

My daughter has tennis today and we're then going shopping for a bike/ scooter/ skateboard helmet as she has an awkward shaped head. Hoping a skateboard shop will help.

Report
cricketmum84 · 19/09/2020 09:24

@DownUdderer that must have been a big wee! 😂 well done on the loss!

I've been with you @crivit so many things going on at the moment that are stressing me out and a little extra wine has crept in so I haven't lost anymore weight as yet.

Doing fab @NerrSnerr!

Feeling like I may struggle the next few days as me and DH are really ill. Absolutely horrendous coughs for us both although I'm 99.9% sure it's not Covid as we have cold symptoms rather than the listed covid symptoms. Think I'm going to make a couple of batches of soup up so I don't turn to hot buttered toast. I fancy a cauli cheese soup and then I'll do him some sort of chicken and veg to help him feel better.

So today is fresh orange this morning for extra vitamin C, soup at lunch then I have some veggie "lamb" koftas for dinner with salad. Lots of water and lemon and ginger tea for me today!

Have a lovely Saturday everyone!
