Morning all! Welcome to the monthly thread for 7lbs/3kg per month! All are welcome whether new or old. There is a huge varieties of diets and exercise regime and loads of helpful hints.

All I ask for is the positivity and support that's been shown in every single one of these threads so far. You are all AMAZING!

Despite only losing 3 of my planned 7lbs last month I am ON IT for September and working hard for a much better loss.

My total loss so far is 8 stone and 2lbs and I still have 4 stone to go. Breaking it down into these half stone targets makes it feel much more manageable for me :)

Link to previous thread is here per month - its August! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosschat/3983285-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-its-august

@DownUdderer you have made amazing progress with the skirt. So nearly there.
@cricketmum84 I can’t get over how amazing your weight loss is. You’ve done so well and you look great.

I have just finished watching the Freddie F documentary. Poor guy. I feel so bad for him getting slammed in the press for being overweight (he didn’t even look fat fgs) and it’s horrific lasting impact on him. It made me realise that men are just as susceptible as women to developing eating problems. If anything, it has gotten easier for women recently with lots more plus size models being featured in magazines, whereas there isn’t really that for men and the ripped muscular look is still the ideal.

Estrellente · 29/09/2020 20:47

Hello, can I join you?

I’ve lost just over two stones in lockdown. Need to lose another 1.5-2 but I’m flagging a bit. People are really starting to notice now though which is nice.

DrivingAgain2020 · 29/09/2020 21:19

Yesterday I accidentally had two lunches, I must have been hungry.

Today I had a small bowl of porridge, then we went out for lunch. I had soup and dahl/rice and 1 scoop of icecream. We had a long walk then for dinner I had 1 chicken breast and salad with a bit of rice, and some fruit.

cricketmum84 · 29/09/2020 21:54

It was a hard watch wasn't it @Shedtheload! I was over emotional and cried through a lot of it. A lot of what he said about the guilt after eating really resonated with me. Made me realised I need to start eating more but healthier as DH was really quite concerned about how much it upset me. Less starving and much more fruit and veg. I was bulimic as a teen so it was very close to home for me!

Welcome @Estrellente you are more than welcome to join :) it's so lovely when people notice!!

Welcome @Estrellente. That’s a brilliant loss, especially in lockdown!

Estrellente · 29/09/2020 23:13

Thanks for the welcome :)

Have struggled to keep momentum going the last month or so, so a target for half a stone in October will be a good kick up the slightly smaller arse for me :)

DownUdderer · 30/09/2020 05:41

@Estrellente welcome. I find the camaraderie on this thread really really helpful, checking in really helps me stay focused in my goal weight.

The cat dress sounds good cricketmum. I sorry to read you suffered with an ED. You've done so well with weightloss I hope you can continue and stay healthy at the same time.

I've had a good day. I had a late breakfast because I was busy, so that's a longer fast for me. I had a late lunch, I heated up some chicken curry, no rice. I need to catch up on my water now.

I've had a good month overall, and I'd like to lose 7lb in October. If I can lose 4lb I'd be in the 9 stone bracket which would be very exciting.

NerrSnerr · 30/09/2020 07:32

Good morning all. Just done my final weigh in and it's 11st 1. That's a whopping 9lbs for September. Think it's the most I have ever lost in a month. I'm really pleased.

Shedtheload · 30/09/2020 07:33

@cricketmum84 Flowers yeah it resonated with me too. I have never made myself sick but I’ve suffered from binge eating since i was a teenager and have often tried to compensate by being really strict with my diet. I also totally understood what he meant when he said he feels he will always be overweight. I’m now nearly at a healthy BMI and I look absolutely fine and size 12 clothes are loose on me, yet nearly all health apps and stuff like that tell me that my optimum weight is 9 stone something, so nearly 2 stone lighter than what I currently am and a BMI of 19. That sort of stuff is really damaging, especially to people who already have a bad relationship to food. There is nobody who would look at Freddie Flintoff now and say he needs to lose weight, yet the constant message that we should all be a really low weight makes him feel that he always needs to lose more. I remember crying as a teen when I read magazine articles about celebrity weights and they were all apparently 8 stone despite being taller than me. I realise now that it was all bullshit and that the magazine just made the weights up but it really stuck with me that my weight (regardless of how my body looked) was a number to be ashamed of. I hope Freddie can gradually recover from his eating disorder.

Shedtheload · 30/09/2020 07:36

@NerrSnerr oh wow that is incredible! 9 lb is a huge amount. Well done.
I am going to weigh tomorrow as I have already had breakfast today but I think I will be happy if I have stayed the same for September given that I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times and overeaten. Going to get back on it for October though!

Howmanysleepsnow · 30/09/2020 07:47

Final weigh in for September
Starting weight 10st 10lb
Weight today 9st 13lb
Loss 11lb!!! (Though 7 of that was August’s holiday gain Blush and I think it came of easier than my longer term weight has)
Goal weight 9st 7lb so only 6lb to go!

I finally hit the 9s!!!

@NerrSnerr congrats on your weight loss.

NerrSnerr · 30/09/2020 07:52

Well done @Howmanysleepsnow and congratulations on being in the 9s!

cricketmum84 · 30/09/2020 07:59

@Shedtheload yes definitely. For me it was his talk of the guilt he feels over eating and even just eating a small portion.

My DH makes quite big portions and I feel disgusted when faced with a big portion. I physically can't get it down. I also used to follow a few slimming world members on insta but I actually can't bear their portion sizes! I know that sounds very judgy but that's my issues not theirs.

Totally agree on the magazine stuff too, it's everywhere! And not just the imaginary weights but also the imaginary dress sizes!! Like they keep telling me that Gemma Collins has dropped to a size 16?? I'm not being cruel but I really don't think she has! And then that enforces comparisons between her body and mine and I feel so much bigger.

Almost forgot check in for the end of the month!

Weight was slightly up this morning but I know that's from water retention as my thighs are killing me from exercise so I'm taking yesterday's weight!

Total loss for the month of 3lb. Still not good enough but I'm hoping that the increase in exercise is going to help next months losses! 8st 5lbs off now.

I'll get the new thread going this evening :)

Amazing loss @NerrSnerr and @Howmanysleepsnow you have both given me a mega kick up the bum!!

Well done everyone. Some amazing losses.

I haven't been able to weigh today so I will have to take Mondays weigh in as my figure for September. That means I only lost 3lb in September..and didn't get into the 10s.

I need to look at why I have only lost this, I recalculated my macros and stuck pretty well to them. Perhaps I need to go clean keto and ditch the keto bakes and substitutes Hmm

I am staying positive though, its all progress and I am so far from where I started.

Its a gloomy day here. Just back from work, having strawberries and paleo granola with alpro plain sugar free yogurt for breakfast. Then swimming again. Eggs for lunch and roast beef with broccoli for dinner.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 30/09/2020 13:09

Sad I've put 10kg back on since early summer. Checking in ready for the link for the October thread.

crivit · 30/09/2020 15:10

Some excellent numbers and NSV in the thread again! I wish I could add to it but the last 3 days have not gone kindly weight-wise. 66.5, 66.8 and then 67.3. A whole 100g down from the start of the month and that's with a dose of gastro. Also, my waist is measuring 2.5cm more than 2 months ago.. Argh!

Debating writing down all my food intake for next month to see if that helps but very mindful of getting obsessed with it given my history. I may try it for a week and then re-assess.

Loving the pics @cricketmum84 and @DownUdderer !
This month has been a bit rubbish. TOTM (which is sporadic atm) and then I was ill and ended up in hospital at the start of the week. I've to rest until I'm better which tbh is disappointing because I'm sure I'm going to lose all my yoga progress.
Will check the scales, then post on the new thread.
