Morning all! Welcome to the monthly thread for 7lbs/3kg per month! All are welcome whether new or old. There is a huge varieties of diets and exercise regime and loads of helpful hints.

All I ask for is the positivity and support that's been shown in every single one of these threads so far. You are all AMAZING!

Despite only losing 3 of my planned 7lbs last month I am ON IT for September and working hard for a much better loss.

My total loss so far is 8 stone and 2lbs and I still have 4 stone to go. Breaking it down into these half stone targets makes it feel much more manageable for me :)

Link to previous thread is here per month - its August! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosschat/3983285-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-its-august

cricketmum84 · 05/09/2020 09:26

Thank the lord for the weekend! It's been a long old week here.

Down to 17 exactly again (I swear I've been losing and gaining this same 3lbs for a month!!!) it's given me a kick though to have my quorn chicken burger tonight with salad instead of in bread with wedges on the side!

Plan for today is some melon this morning. Going to throw some veg in the soup maker at lunch as I need to use up some bits before tomorrow's veg delivery. Then the quorn burger tonight. I soooo want to see the 16s and never see 17 again!

Welcome back @crivit lovely to see you back!

Welcome to all the new joiners from the last few days. It's lovely to see new people :)

@NerrSnerr did you get the Covid results back??

OP posts:
NerrSnerr · 05/09/2020 10:47

@cricketmum84 yes we did- luckily they were negative so my daughter has gone back to school. Thank you for asking. I really hope you see the 16s soon!!

crivit · 05/09/2020 23:22

Yesterday went differently to planned... No beer or vegan hot dog as the place was silly busy. Went to a lovely crêperie instead and had a very fresh, salad filled one and a little cider (less than a pint). Then today... Breakfast as normal, but lunch wasn't until about 5 because the car broke down on the way back from shopping. I toodled off to get the bus part way back with fridge related stuff while my partner tried to make the car work. Said car is now sat back in our parking spot. It had better be ok to take us into the mountains tomorrow shakes fist.

On the plus side, down to 66.8kg this morning. May go up again tomorrow as to keep me going this afternoon (was actually light-headed etc. with hunger) I had to open the packet of lotus biscoff creme biscuits. Only had three though and they are cutely small.

@MonicaBingaling - yay on the lb and I hope you enjoy your more relaxed weekend.

@GalOopNorth - welcome to the thread Smile

@cricketmum84 - resisting bread is a rare thing in this house! In fact, had it twice today... Once with houmous and salad for lunch and then with bean salad for dinner.

@NerrSnerr - congratulations on the negative test Grin

NerrSnerr · 06/09/2020 09:04

Morning all. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend. Well done on your loss @crivit!

I am down to 11st9 this morning after staying the same for a week. Had a lovely swim yesterday and about to go to a yoga class. Was hoping to take the children swimming but my daughter's cough is getting worse so we'll keep her in and hope that improves before school tomorrow as we don't want her passing on a cough to her friends and teachers even if it isn't Covid.

I sorted my winter clothes this morning. I have a couple of hoodies that are just a bit too tight so hoping I can get into them after another half stone and I have my hoodie nemesis which is a size small and I love it- if i stick to this I could fit into it by February (and that's with December accounted for). Trying to stick with it.

Dottydoodoo · 06/09/2020 10:12

Hi everyone, please can I join you all?

I’ve put on so much weight during lockdown I think I am the heaviest I have ever been right now Sad you are all doing so well! I weighed myself on Thursday and was ashamed at what the scales said, so I seriously need to get on this and do something about it!!

cricketmum84 · 06/09/2020 11:30

Ok I am defo gonna be in the 16s by tomorrow.

Plan for today is ultra low cal (I'm trying to do this 2 days a week)
B - skipped, just water and a lemon and ginger tea
L - galia melon
D - celeriac and fennel soup

I've also been mega brave and just booked my first ever yoga class for tomorrow night! It's new private studio that's only just been allowed to reopen due to the local restrictions and I've had a good chat with the instructor about my fitness levels (total lack of) and my dodgy painful discs in my lower back so will start slowly! And I'm absolutely over the moon to see that our local pool can reopen!! Yay!!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone and welcome @Dottydoodoo you are more than welcome to join!

@NerrSnerr hope DD is feeling better soon!

Foresttheout · 06/09/2020 17:10

I've had a fail of a weekend eating wise DP had some clients that needed entertaining and I was roped into helping with the schmoozing so dinner out both today and yesterday Chinese restaurant followed by pizza place. Managed to avoid the alcohol so at least that was something. Hoping to get back on track tomorrow and not beat myself up about it to much as the food was delicious and free

JessJonesJumps · 06/09/2020 19:44

I haven't weighed this weekend but I've managed 4 yoga sessions. DS has developed a cold this weekend so may need to arrange a Covid test.

Dottydoodoo · 06/09/2020 21:32

Thank you! I am about to go and prepare my salad to take to work tomorrow and make a sugar free jelly. I am determined to lose this weight! My DS starts in reception the week after next and I am really hoping I can get myself into a better routine with prepping and eating healthier meals and no snacking. Also the school run will be a 20 minute walk so four of those a day and I should surely be onto a good thing!

bellajay · 07/09/2020 06:49

Hi everyone! First week of September has been a nightmare for me. Really busy, very stressful at work, lots of social stuff. I actually daren’t weigh in this morning but I really want this week to be a good one. Lots of healthy food in the fridge and it seems the weather is looking decent so I can do lunchtime walks to keep active.

Thinking positive Monday thoughts for you all and feeling determined! We can do this! Star

crivit · 07/09/2020 09:19

Back up to 67.1 this morning but the entire weekend was all over the place so not hugely surprising. The car broke down again yesterday on the way back from the mountains. Took over 5 hours to travel maybe 40km in short bursts followed by a 30 minute break. A new part has been ordered and the car stays where it is until that is fitted! So, while breakfast and lunch were ok, dinner was a few more biscuits I still had in the car followed by bread and peanut butter when we got home just before midnight 😐

This morning I'm having a normal porridge-y breakfast with added fresh raspberries. Lunch will probably be salad, houmous and bread. No idea on dinner yet though. Have also done some weights, abs focused cardio and yoga this morning.

@NerrSnerr - I hope little nerrsnerr is feeling better this morning and yay on your lb loss.

@Dottydoodoo - hello and welcome to the thread 😊.

@cricketmum84 - yoga can do wonders for the back if you have the right teacher. It's not an understatement to say it completely changed my life. I hope you enjoy it!

@Foresttheout - let's both forget this weekend happened food wise and start again ><

@JessJonesJumps - good yoga-ing!

@bellajay - we can indeed do this 😁

Gordonsgrin · 07/09/2020 09:34

Hello can I join? I need all the help I can get! I am trying to make this the last time I find myself in this position of needing to loose significant amounts of weight. Would like to loose around 3 stone (I am very well practised at doing this) more importantly I need to learn how to keep it off. Clearly I am some way of needing to address this issue, sigh!

SW 11 stone 7 lbs (3rd Sept)
TG 8 stone 2 lbs, or thereabouts

bellajay · 07/09/2020 12:35

I braved the scales and weighed in at 109.6kg today so about 1.5kg up on the start of the month. At least I know where I’m at and what I need to do! Walked up to nursery instead of driving this morning so started the week off well.

Good luck with the yoga class @cricketmum84, sounds like a really positive step!

Cavagirl · 07/09/2020 15:43

Can I join please?
Have lost a stone since end June/start of July, hoping for half a stone in September which will put me close to target.
Have had a definitely off-plan weekend so need to be good this week!!

JessJonesJumps · 07/09/2020 16:43

Welcome to all the new faces! Flowers

@crivit what rotten luck with the car! I hope it gets fixed soon.

Well, DS developed a very high temp so we had to take him for a Covid test today. I'm hoping to catch up on yoga tonight to give me a little space from all things Covid-related.

cricketmum84 · 07/09/2020 22:11

Just back from yoga. If anyone ever tells you a yoga class is an easy hour of gentle stretching and breathing DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. It's bloody hard work!

Already booked on for my next session and committed to 15 mins online class every morning because I will not be the person sat on the floor because they don't have the strength for a downwards dog into a lunge into a stand next week!!

OP posts:
JessJonesJumps · 08/09/2020 09:08

@cricketmum84 well done! Star 15 mins every morning will make a massive difference too. You should take your measurements just now because you will lose inches everywhere with yoga. I wish I'd measured my arms and my legs because they are definitely smaller now.

DownUdderer · 08/09/2020 10:14

Hi, I'm jumping on. I was on this thread for a few months, then I dropped off the thread, and I've put on 17lbs.

I want to do low carb and no snacking! I did really well for months on end and I lost weight every month, then I just started snacking again and really put weight back on!

I found the threads really helped me stay focused last time.

I think I've had a good day. I've resisted snacks. I had chicken and veggies for dinner. I'm in Australia so my timings are different than the rest of you!

Good luck for everyone today.

NerrSnerr · 08/09/2020 10:21

Well done on the yoga @cricketmum84. I have been doing it regularly since July and I can see the improvements and I agree with @JessJonesJumps that is makes a huge difference to body shape.

I am now down to 11st 8. I am only 2lbs away from losing my first stone and 4lbs away from being overweight!! I am feeling very motivated at the moment so making the most of it and trying to lose as much as I can before life gets in the way. I usually go down a dress size every stone I lose so just clinging to the clothes I will fit into by the end of October. Can't wait to get these size 14s to the charity shop.

crivit · 08/09/2020 21:23

And up further to 67.3 this morning. Obviously things going very well so far sigh. Still, I've waxed my top lip since then so I expect to be a full 2kg down tomorrow morning 😁

@Gordonsgrin and @Cavagirl - welcome ☺️

@JessJonesJumps - fingers crossed for the little one's test!

@cricketmum84 - I regularly swear during my yoga. It helps. Also, good luck with the home practice as I see you have a kitten... So do I (11 weeks old and utterly beautiful). Apparently yoga means playtime in kitten world.

@DownUdderer - welcome back. Those 17lbs will disappear soon enough.

@NerrSnerr - yay on the loss 😊

cricketmum84 · 08/09/2020 22:42

@crivit hahahair totally does!! Pics of wee kitten below for you 🥰

Another busy day today and I'll be honest I have barely eaten.

The second day yoga pain is very strong!
