Morning all! Welcome to the monthly thread for 7lbs/3kg per month! All are welcome whether new or old. There is a huge varieties of diets and exercise regime and loads of helpful hints.

All I ask for is the positivity and support that's been shown in every single one of these threads so far. You are all AMAZING!

Despite only losing 3 of my planned 7lbs last month I am ON IT for September and working hard for a much better loss.

My total loss so far is 8 stone and 2lbs and I still have 4 stone to go. Breaking it down into these half stone targets makes it feel much more manageable for me :)

Link to previous thread is here per month - its August! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosschat/3983285-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-its-august

Morning all!

Well didn't get my swim in :( tried to book online yesterday but it was full. Never mind back to yoga tomorrow.

Aww your kitten is so beautiful @crivit and she's so cuddly! Mine is like a wriggly gremlin and HATES cuddles more than anything. I feel rather rejected. At least I get cuddles from Ivycat.

Happy birthday @MirandaWest even though it's late! Hope you had a good day!

Welcome @Mmanma

Am STILL 17.0 today! Still!!! I'm getting really annoyed now with the lack of movement!!

Pic below of big cat and little cat especially for @peanutbutterdog

Thanks, NerrSnerr and Cricketmum. I get your frustration, Cricketmum. These weight stalls always seem to happen just on the cusp of the next stone down, never in the middle! Thanks for kitties picture, they look very contented. We have an old grumpy ba@@tard cat whose life work has been to torment our now very elderly, arthritic, dementia-ed dog as much as possible so no chance of such lovely pics here!

Well done on all the losses and thanks for the kind wishes Flowers
Scales are jumping everywhere atm and it's TOTM. I'm hopeful that means a loss by Mon.
I'm going to try to do yoga today. I was too wiped out yesterday with this cold.
Loving the kitten pics! They're so cute!

@cricketmum84 shame you couldn't get a slot for swimming. I still book a week in advance to make sure I get the time I want and it makes me go when I really don't want to

I went swimming this morning, I felt like I swam faster but my fitbit says I didn't Hmm

@JessJonesJumps hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

@peanutbutterdog that really is a great loss, well done.

@NerrSnerr plodding on yields results in the end Smile

I am still having a good week food wise, tracked everything and I am feeling hopeful for a loss this week - it's been a while! DD has just turned up though (she lives a couple of hours away) and wants takeaway for dinner. I will stay strong!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Woke up a bit late to do a run before work so ran at lunchtime instead. Think I've been having a bit too much home made fudge at the moment though Blush.

My mum and dad are here for the weekend and I'm having my hair cut and coloured tomorrow so suspect I won't move as much as I usually do and will eat more than I should do as well Grin.

Planning a longer (for me anyway) run tomorrow morning.

I've lost 5lb since starting back with intermittent fasting and low carb. I'm thrilled! A good initial loss really motivates me. I've given up coca-cola, I was drinking two cans a day. I have had a tiny low level headache since stopping but I guess that's what's to be expected. I ran out of cokes and didn't order any more with the next supermarket online shop.

I'm really trying to drink plenty of water, this really helps me. I staves off hunger pangs and I know it's good for me to stay hydrated.

I've got smoked salmon for lunch today, I'd planned on eating it the other day but I had bacon that day instead. The one thing I love about low carb eating is having bacon with cheese and also having butter with everything! I do miss having bead sometimes but there are really nice low carb breads, I just have to remember to buy some!

Morning all and happy weekend!!

Me and DD have outdoor yoga at 10. I thought it would be a good way for her to wind down after her first week at high school plus she has been asking a lot about what she can do for fitness after 6 months of sitting around! Hopefully I will ache a bit less this time!

I'm just sticking to fruit and water today and then DH and DC want takeaway pizza tonight. I only tend to eat 2 slices when we order in so actually shouldn't be too bad. Plus I'm still stuck at 17.0 even after a very low calorie week. Maybe not eating enough??

@DownUdderer that's fantastic well done :)

Thanks @cricketmum84 you are an inspiration!

I have lost 3lbs since the start of September.

Now 11st 4, aiming for 9st 7. Done meal plan and just off out food shopping.

Just a not to anyone contemplating trying outdoor yoga.... don't wear bright colours or was your hair with body shop banana scented shampoo and conditioner. The wasps bloody loved me! And I'm petrified of the evil little blighters! Probably burnt more calories running away.

Weighed myself this morning and I was 69.05kg which is 10 stone 12lb. As I started at 79.5kg or 12 stone 7lb on 24th June I’m feeling pretty good about my weight loss so far.

Am aiming to get to 60kg but 66kg when I’m not overweight any more will be good as well

MirandaWest · 12/09/2020 13:33

I did weigh myself after the 45 min run which was 6.8km and the longest I’ve run for a while.

Yassssss 16.13 this morning!! I'm in the 16s at last!! And the scales have finally moved. Let's hope it continues.

Yoga ache is in full flow this morning but I'm going to do some practice in the garden shortly (but not in bright colours 😂). It's definitely not as bad as the first time though.

Plan for today is some chopped apple and soy yoghurt abut later this morning. Then a roast to make for the family and a baked sweet potato and creamy mushrooms for me.

That's a really fantastic loss @MirandaWest! Well done!!

Have a lovely Sunday all!

Morning all. I am down to 11st 6 this morning which means I have lost a stone. Very happy with this. Just 3lbs until my next mini goal which is to be no longer obese.

Well done @DrivingAgain2020 for the September loss so far and @MirandaWest you've done amazing since the start of June. I can picture you @cricketmum84 running from the wasps! Hopefully you'll have a massive Whoosh in the next few days.

My in-laws are visiting today and we're putting a buffet out for them (there's only 2 of them but with small children a buffet is easiest). They are massive feeders so I'm glad they're coming here so I can control what I eat more.

Whoop whoop @cricketmum84 & @NerrSnerr Star. So nice that you’ve both hit a milestone - something psychological about getting into a new stone bracket or a stone / half stone.
I have lost 3lbs this month which I pleased with but off to see poorly dad today which may lead to me falling off the wagon ......
Fingers crossed we can all hit our 7lbs this month as then I would be less than I was as a 14 year old when I went on my first diet Blush

Thanks@NerrSnerr it feels so good!

Haha I tried to be really zen at first and remain still and calm but then it started buzzing round my head so they had to stop the class. The lovely instructor came and wafted it away 😂

Well done on the loss!! I need to check the BMI chart again and see how close I am!

A great loss @MirandaWest!

I've had a good day with food. I managed no snacking on the beach. I had a banana and a raw carrot instead of biscuits and crisps. I'm trying to drink plenty of water.

I had a Thai beef salad yesterday evening. It was from the take away and normally I'd have had something with rice. It was really tasty and it just felt good to try and make a good choice rather than just follow old habits. When I'm starting out with eating better I like to really try my best to make good choices in the first couple of weeks to try and get out of old habits.

I don't want to rule out a piece of cake or biscuit once in a while as long as I plan it, rather than mindlessly stuffing it into my mouth!

The wasps sound like a nightmare @cricketmum84!

@cricketmum84 that’s awesome!! So pleased for you that the scale has finally moved and you’re in the 16s.

Am staying off the scales until Friday. I had a bit of a blowout a couple of days ago and don’t want to get disheartened due to water retention from that. The next ‘milestone’ I am aiming for is 40 lb lost. I am at 38.8 at the moment so not long to go. I measure in lbs, stone AND kilos to give me the maximum number of goals I can hit, lol.

Also, I got properly measured a few days ago when I had to go to the GP. Turns out I am a centimetre and a half taller than I thought I was and I thinks it’s cos I used to slouch quite a bit around the last time I got measured (many years ago and just assumed that was my height ever since). That means that my BMI is down a little bit from what I thought it was (yay!!!) and is now 25.9. So I am very nearly in the healthy BMI range now which I am pretty excited about.

Report
NerrSnerr · 13/09/2020 10:48

Good news that you're taller @Shedtheload. I just checked and if I grew a foot I would be slap bang in the middle of a healthy BMI. Maybe I should concentrate on growing as well as losing weight!

Lol if only growing in height were as easy as losing weight! Fingers crossed you’re also taller than you thought @cricketmum84.

Report
cricketmum84 · 13/09/2020 11:26

I am actually a whole inch taller! DH thinks that's because of my "stretchy class" and holding my back in a better position 😂😂

Just done all my BMI calls and I've dropped my BMI from 55.2 to 35.9. Still 42lbs away from the overweight section though and 77lbs away from top healthy weight. Hopefully this is going to give me a biiiiiiiig push though.
