Hi, here's the new thread. Always love the new start that September brings with back to school and all the jazz. I'm unfortunately starting the month heavier, 9st2.5, bit cross with myself to be honest, know I have been comfort eating, its got to stop. Aim for this month is as ever yawn, 8st13.

Your day not your dad!

Hangoverstruggles · 06/09/2020 19:49

@Heygirlheyboy my dad is also pretty great 😁

That's amazing hangover! I can't imagine having a bmi of such dizzying lows. Mine is 23.8 now. I don't pay much attention to mine normally but it being more than 25 at the start of this felt awful. I feel much happier now. I will always have chunky thighs, wide shoulders, chunky arms, and a rounded belly (endometriosis and ibs) and due to the hills I traipse up and down my calves will always be chunky too plus I have deviated knee caps, and genetics that mean I will never be svelte 🤷🏼‍♀️ plus I'm a short arse so there really is no hope.

I am amazed that I have resisted eating tonight as I'm really hungry. I had my mind on the hot cross buns again but I remembered how much pain I was in afterwards and how they affected my sleep and ignored my wandering mind. Plus I'm over my calories today. Still, it's been a positive week full of activity so I'm happy with my efforts towards my goals. Next stop 9st 7lb.

SistemaAddict · 07/09/2020 06:33

Morning all. 60.9kg this morning. Slow and steady losses.

Octopus37 · 07/09/2020 06:56

Ate far too much red velvet cake yesterday. ie a nearly a whole cake (lets be honest here) and not enough steps, 9st2.25 this morning. Heygirl, I know you've mentioned a book on emotional eating, please could you let me have the title. I know that tbh that's where I am going wrong at the moment, eating cause I'm tired and I've got a lot on my mind, feel a bit (a lot) cross with myself, which obviously doesn't help, negative cycle. Thanks

8st13, a full pound off the 9 now. Very pleased and going to aim for three good walks or runs during week this week. Didn't manage it last week with First week back. Well done bercows, please don't be so tough on yourself!!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/09/2020 07:47

Hi. September has not gone well so far. Feeling blob like.

B chicken omelette
L salad
D not sure, need to do a meal plan.

Dropping DD at school and going for a walk this morning. She is adamant she doesn't want to go so wish me luck.

Lalanbaba · 07/09/2020 13:39

66 kg in the scales today that surprised me after the Indian feast yesterday. Not complaining there. That's 4 kg down since the start. I'm going to try to do a long walk in the mornings at least 3 times a week as I have been very inactive lately. Inspired by you ladies!
In the other hand I went food shopping this morning and got some extra Xmas bits and the things for making mincemeat. Oh the smell of mixed spice!
B: just tea and then life happened.
L: Korean noodle pot with extra kimchi and veg. (obvs I went food shopping hungry)
D: slow cooked pork with roasted veggies and sourdough.

SistemaAddict · 07/09/2020 14:54

We are self isolating so no walking for a while for us Sad I was looking forwards to my 10 miles today. I was going to pick up some Christmas treats but that can wait. I did get some delivered with the shopping. Chocolate for mum and things for the advent calendar.

IDontMindMarmite · 07/09/2020 16:49

I initiated a "no spend September" because I got fed up of DH buying pointless random shit. When really, I just wanted him to stop spending. Now I can't buy the plant I've been dithering over for months and finally decided that I needed 😭

Lalanbaba · 07/09/2020 17:45

Sorry to hear that @Bercows hope everyone is OK. Are you getting tested?
Mincemeat in progress, I'm telling myself it needs at least a month to mature. Also doing small jars so if/when I open one I'll go through it quickly

SistemaAddict · 07/09/2020 18:07

Thank you. Yes, going to get tested. My chest is really tight. Ds a bit sneezy now but not as warm. I skipped lunch and went for a chip buttie for dinner. Bad idea. I feel slothful today with doing no walking. Early night tonight, I'm shattered.

TheHoneyBadger · 07/09/2020 18:08

Would he actually notice? Is there not a windowsill that he barely even registers somewhere? You have to be able to pull off, that's been there for ages, are you blind? lol

Teaching again today - hectic running back and forth across the school so steps definitely up BUT I went to the shops and bought beer as there was no alcohol in the house and I really fancied a drink and then couldn't resist beer as I've already got wine coming with my delivery tomorrow.

Work is definitely going to keep me more active but could equally incline me to drink more and then potentially eat shit Hmm

I am, of course, going to have to find some discipline but I suspect I'm going to struggle to find that whilst trying to get to grips with the, 'new normal' (aka totally dysfunctional) way of doing my job. I need to give myself a bit of leeway but not let that turn into too much leeway itms?

It is nice to be Miss Badger again though on the whole. I try to convince myself I've just gone back into teaching for a while whilst ds gets through secondary but in reality I'm a teacher and it is what I am and where I thrive (or drown sometimes). Nice to be around young people and the classroom again. Just need to find a way to keep losing weight through it.

Heygirlheyboy · 07/09/2020 18:25

HoneybadgerI find planning helps with the bit if discipline. Plan some nice lunches for school and a few dinners so you know where you are at. Off for first proper walk in a week tonight. Just logging now.
B:berries and Greek yoghurt and coffee
L: wrap with pesto, mayo, salad and turkey
D: mac and cheese (so sad how small my portion was!!) with broccoli and veg. Feeling virtuous lol.
Within target of 1250
Bercows I hope you will all be OK very soon.

Octopus37 · 07/09/2020 19:09

Bercows, hope you feel better soon.

So so day for me, not healthy but here goes
Breakfast - Nature Valley Bar (196)
Lunch - Greggs Cheese & Onion pasty (426)
Dinner - Bag of Malters (294)
Dinner - Youngs fish fillet (223)
Some potatos and carrots roasted (?)

Hoping around 1700 in total, too much I know. However, steps are 18,158 and still have a dog walk to do so hopefully ok
Muller Corner (165)

@TheHoneyBadger he'd notice the spends on the credit card, he'd see the delivery (can't get it any other way, it's v specific) and i'd be a hypocrite. It's all good natured, but I can't lose face!

Hangoverstruggles · 07/09/2020 21:38

I can't stop eating!

Period due sometime this week so hoping it's that. 3 days in a row now at around 2000 😩 Saturday was planned. But I pigged out last night and have done the same today.

Can anyone help with my new routine? My working hours are now 7-2:30. My plan today was to have a bowl of overnight oats with added protein powder & dried fruit at 11am. Then have a snack at home just before 3pm when I have to walk up to the school. I only have about 20 mins to grab this 'snack/lunch' Today I went for rice cakes & peanut butter x3. I figured this would be enough until dinner.

Problem was I was starving for dinner at 5pm, and then starving again and raiding the snacks by 7pm 🙄

I can only really take one break at work so meals are at weird times which means I'm starving in the evening. Any suggestions on what I can fill up on quickly in the 20 mins turnaround before school run?

TheHoneyBadger · 07/09/2020 21:41

Last minute swimming session. Only 40 laps as we only get a 45min slot (covid) but happy with that after a day at work and it has taken me way over calorie burn and active minutes targets.

Paid my friend to deep clean my kitchen while I was at work and it’s lovely! She has done everything that I mean to but never get round to.

Yes to planning. I don’t eat till evening on work days but I need to plan dinner otherwise knackered and to overloaded to think and it’s easy to reach for crap

TheHoneyBadger · 07/09/2020 21:44

Eggs are filling hangover? Personally I’d skip breakfast and fast till after work then have the overnight oats to break fast and then have dinner but I know fasting isn’t for everyone.

Hangoverstruggles · 07/09/2020 21:54

Thanks @TheHoneyBadger but I think I'd struggle to fast 😬 my stomach was growling by 11am. I think because I'm up at 6am on a work day - days off I'm quite happy to eat later but I guess the day starts slower.

Eggs is a good shout. I could hard boiled some and make a quick wrap or with toast before I head out to school. I need to spread my cals out or I really start in the evenings and find it hard to stop!

Great work on your swim - 40 lengths is very impressive!

Heygirlheyboy · 07/09/2020 22:12

How about eggs at 3 with some brown bread? But tbh I'd never quench the hunger of that early fast, it would follow me all day but I wake up very much hungry for breakfast each day. I'm in bed now reading and I'm already licking my lips at the thought Grin I didn't eat enough today as I upped my steps so much compared to the last week but I'll leave it at this stage.

Lalanbaba · 07/09/2020 22:50

@hangoverstruggles I would meal prep the day before.
Pasta bake, soup, stew, salad, wraps, sandwiches. Leave it ready the night before. Quick zap in the microwave if needs to heat up. Eat from the container.
Prep everything down to cut cheese chunks or prep fruit that way you only need to worry about eating.

Is 9st2.5 overweight? I would love to be so slim!
Hangoverstruggles · 08/09/2020 06:28

@Lovely1a2b3c no one is saying 9st2 is overweight.

We all started heavier and are at different points along the weight loss journey - some are just have the last few pounds, some are working hard on maintaining. It all depends on individual goals - and height!

Octopus37 · 08/09/2020 06:52

Lovely1a2b3c I'm still tying to lose a few pounds, as Hanover said individual goals, I'm not that tall 5ft5 and quite a small frame, still pretty much a size 12 in trousers and skirts at this weight. 9st0.75 this morning. Its our wedding anniversary today (19 years), wont get the chance to go out but may manager a drink/take away.
