Hi, here's the new thread. Always love the new start that September brings with back to school and all the jazz. I'm unfortunately starting the month heavier, 9st2.5, bit cross with myself to be honest, know I have been comfort eating, its got to stop. Aim for this month is as ever yawn, 8st13.

Morning. Weight is up a bit this morning but that’s to be expected as I ended up having Chinese last night and quite late in the evening. Plus the last time I weighed in was after a couple of very active days with very low calorie intake.

Frien and I are signing up to a couples membership (cheaper) at the gym and my aim is to go swimming at least twice a week and do a class. We swim in the evenings after I’ve had a work day so it’s definitely extra exercise for me if that makes sense.

I’m not disciplined at all octopus. Totally winging it and losing pretty slowly

Morning. D and I spent a couple of hours painting a fence this morning and plan to walk a bit today.

Can I rave about this pressure cooker chicken Tikka Masala recipe? It's brilliant! Obviously you need to find the lowest calorie coconut milk and yoghurt as you can and I tend to omit oil and butter where I can. But alongside this naan bread recipe (minus the sugar), the whole meal came in at 488 calories and is very satisfying.

That does look good. I have to be in the mood for curry though. I'm all about the poppadoms and mango chutney. And onion bhagis.
I love Chinese though. Sweet and sour tofu, noddles, veggie spring rolls and crispy seaweed.
I should maybe get a slow cooker.
I've got pizza dough on the go for tonight. I am so hungry today. I think my body is trying to tell me that it needs more if I'm going to try and kill it by walking Grin

I have an actual slow cooker which is rather different to what she’s using. Someone posted a slow cooker chicken tikka masala recipe before and I meant to keep it to try with ds. Hopefully someone will say that was them and repost it.

You could use the same recipe, just put it on for the day.

Hello there,
This morning I made the mistake of weighing myself up just after the shower (usually I do it dress up) and now if I go back to the old way it looks like I put a kg back.
Also since seeing the Xmas food all I think is start buying non perishables (aka sweets and chocolates) and drinks in case of a new lock down in winter.
Today's food also is a bit of mix as I am wet emptying odd bits of food from the freezer.
B: French toast with berries. Tea
L: chicken croquetas, turkey and courgette patties, wedges and salad
D: chicken makhani with naans and broccoli. But I'm too stuffed right now to even dream of dinner in 2h.
Also I have like 300 cal allowance left so will be a very small portion for me.

I'm also planning the stocking up in case of lockdown and of course brexit. We do t go mad at Christmas but we do like quality street, heroes etc.

I ate half a homemade pizza and 3 chunky chips. I'm stuffed now.

But there weren't shortages of food during lockdown, were there?! Not here anyway (Ireland). Just caught up on all. I have been online all weekend training, and again today and I am exhausting with raging period pain and no walks fitted in Sad. I will force myself out for fresh air tonight, in bed by 8 Fri & Sat.
B: berries, yoghurt, seeds and coffee
L: ratatouille and salad
D: tbd
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

Morning morning, online training for a whole day sounds horrible and exhausting, especially in this nice weather.

I did have a stock of pasta and tinned tomatoes prior to the pandemic as i did worry about food supply post Brexit but I don't feel worried anymore. Fair enough i think its reasonable to have a few things and choccies have a long shelf life (couldn't keep them in the house myself!) but we didn't run out of food in the first lockdown, shopping just became more inconvenient.

Another lb down this morning so that's 4/5lbs holiday weight gone in just over a week. Nice!

We went for a 10 mile walk yesterday. It's looking like a beautiful day today so we'll probably do a bit of DIY and a shorter walk. Enjoy everone!

Well done Idontmindmarmite! I'll hopefully be months into the end of emotional eating so I'll be OK with Christmas. So far, no effort, almost 3 weeks in.

Well, despite not moving and a non existent calorie burn, I'm down. 25lbs to 8st13.5. 8st 12 is next target.

@Heygirlheyboy, how was that Emotional Eating book? Worth a read? While we're talking about Christmas...

Well done HeyGirl, hope you are feeling better today. 9st1 this morning, steps reasonable. Was very hungry this morning so just eaten a Nature Valley bar and a Muller Corner for breakfast. Just about to do some assessments for a job I am applying for.

Roaring at my typo Grin Obviously down 0.25 lbs not 25!!

The book was excellent, it painted it as it was and included a lot of what I'd been thinking myself, took away the 'treat' as left and said it for what it is, for me, totally understand not everyone has that negative relationship with junk food but it was definitely a drug of choice for me and I now feel free. I take a massive sigh of relief actually when I think of it.

@Heygirlheyboy when lockdown started I was shielded and couldn't get any delivery slots for about 2-3 weeks. I relied on my brexit stash and the local mutual aid group to bring things from the health shop. I couldn't get flour until about a month ago and now there's not much available again. Pasta was something we couldn't get either. Milk too. I ended up getting the food delivery boxes from the government which were helpful but certainly wouldn't have fed all 4 of us for a week. In the end I bought a 16kg sack of bread flour from Amazon. Thankfully Waitrose soon got me on the priority delivery list and I could get weekly slots. Tesco were useless and charge for delivery too. I keep my pantry well stocked with essentials now. I also keep a good supply of toiletries and medication. I'm on my own with no one to help so it's been an exercise in finding different ways of doing things all round. Still no bread flour online. I'm getting 16kg a time off Amazon as I make my own bread and pizza.

Wow. Such a difference if shielded, of course, didn't think of that.

@Heygirlheyboy my two local supermarkets were very bare for a couple of weeks. No pasta, rice, potatoes, eggs, flour, meat, tin anything (toilet paper Grin)
We were not even close to starve but did have to do with what was available. So I now keep a small stash in the garage, mainly dry stuff and tins which I rotate in my normal larder. Anyway the idea is more getting some things in advance for not paying everything in one go (being made redundant myself need to watch the penny. Also get some bottles of alcohol /wine when in offer. Also I usually start preparing some things around now, like homemade mincemeat.
B: cereal with oat milk. Tea
L: chicken makhani that we didn't eat yesterday.
D: probably eggs in some form.

Report
TheHoneyBadger · 06/09/2020 11:13

Same here no flour, eggs, pasta etc at one stage no veg and barely anything in meat aisles etc.

Been stocking up on tinned mackerel, beans, soup, bit of extra pasta and rice and cat biscuits. Not crazy levels just a few bits extra here and there.

Total blowout here yesterday but not feeling too bad about it. Was my first week back at school. Must do better next weekend though.

Yawn, i'm tired. We walked 10 miles today as well as yesterday and lunch was those slim noodles, prawns and pesto. Have a brownie too. Lazy afternoon now.

I'm hungry today. Proper hungry. Perhaps the exercise of the week is catching up with me? I've got lots of walking to do tomorrow again as need to take mum's shopping up so that will be another 10 mile day.

Lalanbaba · 06/09/2020 16:45

I've calculated that the chicken makhani with the works (rice, naan, onion bhajis, samosa, poppadoms and sauces) has more than a 1000 cal.

I'm round and happy.
No regrets.

Evening all. Lazy Sunday feeling here today!

I did an early gym class this morning for an hour so that was a good start. Planned my breakfast to allow for post - work out hunger damage limitation which seems to have worked mostly.

B smoothie of banana, oats and protein powder, rice cakes with peanut butter
L roast chicken, sweet potato, swede & carrot mash, steamed greens, gravy. Couple bites of DH's brownie
D not sure but needs to be minimal! Although could go either way!
S Huge piece of birthday sponge cake which I have counted as 500. Cake is ridiculously calorific!! Loads of cups of tea

I'm already at 1600 before dinner 🙄

Have maintained my low weight though! BMI now 20.98 which is lower than I set out to achieve so certainly not stressing about a few treats here & there!

Wow hangover that's a great bmi! Your dad sounds great. Bercows I definitely feel the hunger up to days after extra activity so I fuel up on good food then. With that calorie intake compared to your v high activity levels, it's no surprise.

I'm logged for the day:
Berries and Greek yoghurt
Ratatouille and salad with seeds and dressing
Chicken curry and brown rice
S: grapes and almonds.
1250
Hope to get even a 20 min walk in later to stretch my body a bit after 3 days of zoom... Zzzz
