Hi, here's the new thread. Always love the new start that September brings with back to school and all the jazz. I'm unfortunately starting the month heavier, 9st2.5, bit cross with myself to be honest, know I have been comfort eating, its got to stop. Aim for this month is as ever yawn, 8st13.

It's a cold, hungry, can't be filled day today for me. But I have logged. Dh did homemade pizzas and tbh I was dreaming of Thai takeaway all day as don't feel pizza fills me! Grin Anyway I ate it and have logged. Up to my 1646 cals and I think my lower cal day yesterday didnt help today's hunger.. Maybe Thai tomorrow! Happy Friday all. Hope your dad OK Octopus.

Octopus37 · 25/09/2020 20:06

Thanks Heygirl, he's about the same. All very difficult tbh will see how he is after the weekend (his antibiotics should have kicked in by then). Will have to see what happens in the longer term, tbh he probably needs to go into a care home. Really need to get back on track with my eating, I know I could easily slide down a slippery slope with bad eating at the moment and end up putting all my weight back on. Must get back on track. Think my motivation will be that I will regret it so much, cause its so hard to lose weight.

You have done absolutely brilliantly to hold onto your loss. It has certainly stuck but allow yourself some leeway too if you need it. I know how hard it is for you now. My mum stayed home till the end but it was a mammoth effort and maximum care package plus private care, it took an awful lot out of us all. The fact your dad agrees might mean now is the time to start looking?

Octopus37 · 26/09/2020 08:41

Thanks Heygirl, sounds as if you had a touch time, but at the same time did amazingly for your Mum. I knew this was coming. Dad's partner (she has dementia) has been in a home for three and a half weeks already). He wants to go in there for a couple of weeks, to see how he feels and also if she remembers him or wants him around. I get the feeling its going to be very hard cause I dont think things will work out how he wants. I helped him send a postcard to her through TouchNote yesterday. Think he will probably end up in a home near my Sister (Cheshire), but not sure how his health is going to go. 9st1.5 this morning, feels a bit irrelevant now, but know I could easily let go of the rope and be back where I started.

Howdy, can I share a Non Scales Victory? My light coloured trainers were getting dirty on our walk recently so DH offered to carry me off the grass to the path. I hopped on his back and he said "Wow, that's MUCH easier than before" Grin

What's our October thread going to be called? I've been thinking about this for days bizarrely! I can''t think of anything relevant that begins with O. Aside from "Oh we're something in October"

IDontMindMarmite · 26/09/2020 12:38

Oh and a gorgeous fairly pricey fitted coat that never really fit me before looks perfect now!

Heygirlheyboy · 26/09/2020 14:11

Ah octopus it is hard buy maybe staying on track can be something you're doing for yourself?

Idontmindmarmite fantastic!! I had similar with a v light cream top the other day which is not stomach skimming rather than stomach visible Grin October... Hmm I'll get thinking!

Heygirlheyboy · 26/09/2020 15:41

Now it's stomach skimming I meant Hmm

Heygirlheyboy · 26/09/2020 18:23

Just made Jamie Oliver Norma here, my god it's so high cal with rice (wholegrain), comes to almost 700cals Shock Chicken, chickpeas, coconut milk and desiccated coconut. Only 50g uncooked rice. Isn't that mad. Kinda wish I'd just got a takeaway now! Anyway that brings me to 20 under today and will leave it there.
B: omelette with feta and tomatoes and beans... Delish
L: homemade chicken soup and soda bread, Strawberries, blueberries and Greek yoghurt (50g)
D: korma w/brown rice
Will walk to hit around 12k steps.

Heygirlheyboy · 26/09/2020 18:29

Dh, curry hater, now says that korma was delicious and I should do it again. Eyeroll.

Heygirlheyboy · 27/09/2020 08:09

Morning all. No move for me this morning, 8st9.25. I'm posting my delicious breakfast this morning. No one can say I'm restricting! Grin Plate is massive, I have been in the habit of using a much smaller one but I wasn't washing up for you guys WinkSalad for lunch and who knows what dinner!

Looks good Heygirl. Went out with my friend for her Birthday last night, was fantastic to have a break and great to see her (she fully understands the background of the situation with my Dad as she has known him her whole life). However, after eating too much during the day prior to this, I then ate some chocolate Birthday cake drank two pints and ate chip shop scampi and chips. The result, I weigh 9st3.5 this morning. I am back on track as of now, I refuse to end September heavier.

Hello everyone! Very busy here so minimal focus on diet. Still recording everything but definitely keeping my mind busy makes me less obsess with food
B: pancakes with fruit. Tea
L: oven roasted chicken and veggies.
D: lentil and butternut squash soup

Hangoverstruggles · 27/09/2020 19:17

Can see myself ending September with a gain if I carry on like this! Went out for dinner on Friday - 3 courses and wine. Slightly hungover yesterday so wanted ALL the carbs and sugar. Started today well but been starving this afternoon and now DH wants a Chinese to see out the weekend and I can't resist!

Only saving grace is that I did a workout class yesterday and went for a 5k run today!

I seem to have lost it the ability to diet!

Thinking I might try not tracking in October as a new challenge. Just to see how I go. New goal was 9st 10 but seem to hover between 9st12 - 10st. Maybe that's just where I need to be. The final 2lb seems too hard!

How's everyone doing this weekend? Beautiful sunshine today but so much colder 🌼

Heygirlheyboy · 27/09/2020 20:19

Lalanbaba your food always sounds really lovely.
Hangoverstruggles you're doing very well! I'm definitely not ready to go it alone yet.
I've logged and I'm under by a little but I'm also under the 10k step that's part of my allowance so definitely stopping there.
B: omelette with feta, mushrooms and tomatoes
L: Chicken in parma ham with a cheese sauce, baby new potatoes and veg
D: ratatouille
Lunch was out so hard to log. Breakfast 400 and tea 300.
I'm thinking ahead to work lunches this week. I've got my ratatouille and mushroom soup in the fridge. I'll do a feta and broccoli salad with chickpeas and I'll add them to the ratatouille also as I try to increase cals slightly but keep up the nutrition. Long walk tomorrow and a run Tuesday on the cards. Super busy week, 5 hours of appointments outside of work plus full time training weekend next weekend so I need to be really organised. Dinners for tomorrow and Tues planned.

IDontMindMarmite · 27/09/2020 20:31

Evening all. I've been eating more this weekend as planned and been looking at my calories for the week to make sure i'm evening out. Apparently i'm 200 under which is cool. We've been for 2 x 10 mile walks over the last couple of days and I don't usually log my exercise. Had fish and chips and cake over the weekend. Haven't drunk enough water though. I've got half a week of work then a couple of days off. I imagine i'd be best taking a few days off the scales after that.

Octopus37 · 28/09/2020 07:57

Had a good day yesterday, weighed 9st1.75, determined now to get to the other side. Obviously things have been really hard the last couple of weeks, but I'm feeling a bit more optimistic Happy Monday all

Morning all. I'm starting again today with logging everything and being more active thanks to the school run. AF is here so I've not weighed myself but seem to be maintaining my weight loss generally. My jeans fall down without a belt so all is good! Lentil soup for dinner tonight.

TheHoneyBadger · 28/09/2020 08:16

Morning. I got a negative result so back to work today.

13st13.5 this morning. I’ve basically maintained fluctuating around 14st for September. Would be good to see a new low at least before we enter September.

Haven’t been keeping up with thread but hope everyone is ok.

Lalanbaba · 28/09/2020 09:01

Morning everyone,
64.6 kg this morning. Slowly but steady, better keep going.
B: cottage cheese with a spoonful of mincemeat. Tea
L : chickpeas, cous cous, leftover roasted veggies maybe some spinach to bulk
D: defrosting ox cheek stew. Mash.
It's 3°C this morning and need the comfort food

HoneysuckIejasmine · 28/09/2020 09:46

Right. I've sorted my head out. I've got time to exercise and i am in control of what I eat. I will get to where I want to be.

B mushroom omelette
L bacon, salad, cup of soup
D bean and Squash Stew, crusty roll
S rocky road

SistemaAddict · 28/09/2020 12:35

16,000 steps so far and 6.5 miles. I am ravenous!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 28/09/2020 13:53

Gosh! That's equivalent to about 12km for me.

I drive DD to school as we live rurally so no school run to get steps up. From next week I do plan to go on long walks immediately after school run to get more active (as dropping ds off too - lots of walks not pushchair friendly and his stamina is low)

Monochrome4 · 28/09/2020 13:57

Hello all. Just clocking in here after being away at the weekend and not logging. Fortunately all the walking we did seemed to do the trick and I was pleasantly surprised at the scales this morning. I just need to concentrate on not snacking at home - that's my downfall.

Hope you're ok @Octopus37. Sounds as though you have loads on your plate. (Not literally!)

That breakfast looks nice @Heygirlheyboy

That reminds me... at the place where we stayed over the weekend I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. The first morning the salmon was artfully arranged in a perfect circle so you could see the eggs in the middle. The second morning the salmon was arranged in a pointed oval shape with the eggs in the middle. It looked like a vulva! Sorry I didn't take a picture. But I thought you might like a chuckle.

Heygirlheyboy · 28/09/2020 14:47

Great to see you so chipper octopus and determined honeysuckle! Would love the stew recipe!

Well done Bercows!

Lol monochrome, hope mine didn't resemble anything! No move on scales for me but hopefully 8st 9 by end of week.
B: berries and Greek yoghurt and coffee
L: ratatouille, salad and chickpeas
D: roast chicken and veg and potatoes
