Hi, here's the new thread. Always love the new start that September brings with back to school and all the jazz. I'm unfortunately starting the month heavier, 9st2.5, bit cross with myself to be honest, know I have been comfort eating, its got to stop. Aim for this month is as ever yawn, 8st13.

HoneyBadger sorry to hear you are poorly as well. Hope you manage to get a test soon. You have done so well with your weight, just concentrate on looking after yourself 9st0.25 this morning

Are you using an app @HowLongToXmas? My fitness Pal and Lose It are popular ones and they will calculate a target for you depending on your stats and goals. I couldn't have done calorie counting without MFP, it makes it so easy, just scan a barcode.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/09/2020 10:40

Hi everyone! 9st 13.75 this morning. 2.75lb heavier than my lowest. I've been exercising but eating more.

Looking back over MFP I've been coming in at maintenance across the week for the last month or so, so should not really have gained. I average 1500-1700 a day, which is my tdee for sedentary (and I would say I'm more active than sedentary!)

I don't really want to go back to 'diet cals' but also don't want to risk gaining.... maybe it'll balance out.

Sorry to hear some of you are still under the weather. It all feels a bit shit and depressing. Grey & wet weather here, Covid restrictions.... blah!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/09/2020 10:43

Hi all, sorry I've been AWOL. I'm still battling through September.

DS starts preschool in October so I'm hoping to get back on track properly then, and in the meanwhile I'm trying to tread water.

Hangoverstruggles · 23/09/2020 10:46

@Bercows ooh soup is a nice idea. Might make some tonight. Just the weather for it here!

HowLongToXmas · 23/09/2020 12:54

I am using MFP and ranging between 850 and 1,150 calories a day.

IDontMindMarmite · 23/09/2020 13:49

Less than 1000 as a long term strategy (as opposed to a days fast) seems risky and unrealistic. Won't you be really hungry then binge?

IDontMindMarmite · 23/09/2020 13:49

How tall are you?

HowLongToXmas · 23/09/2020 14:00

I'm on week six or seven and I'm really happy with how not hungry I am, actually...

I am 5.4 and a half tall.

IDontMindMarmite · 23/09/2020 14:03

How much do you weigh?

Monochrome4 · 23/09/2020 14:47

Hello! Can I join late to the party? Need a bit of solidarity.

Heygirlheyboy · 23/09/2020 15:08

Does MFP recommend those low cals? Lose it will jump in, say if I try to lose a pound and half per week it will say this goes under recommended minimum, something like 1200.

I jumped on and off the scales a few times this morning, it said error, it said 8st5 lol, it said 0.0 so I'll try again tomorrow!

Honeysuckle good to see you, *Hangoverstruggles well done on moving from the diet cals. I'll be doing that soon and it does feel like letting go of control. Plan on a twice weekly weigh followed by once a week and so on.

I had to have my lunch at 10. 20 this morning due to work breaks Hmm so I am now sitting down to my dinner lol. I've treated myself to food out, quiche and side salad at local super healthy cafe. Lots to tempt on the menu. I will have a decent snack later too plus hopefully a half decent walk.

Lalanbaba · 23/09/2020 15:32

Hello everyone!
Feeling much better today.
@Heygirlheyboy new batteries maybe?
@HowLongToXmas I calculated TDEE and took 500 cal, that put me at 1300 days but I was starving on that so I'm doing about 1450 a day. No specific diet, just record everything and smaller portions
B: tea and toast, soft boiled egg
L: spaghetti bolognese
D: pork loin and salad

SistemaAddict · 23/09/2020 15:42

I've made lentil soup for dinner. I'm looking forward to it especially as there'll be veggie dumplings! I think we'll watch GBBO tonight and live vicariously.

HowLongToXmas · 23/09/2020 15:48

@IDontMindMarmite

How much do you weigh?
Not sure - I don't weight myself because I'm a wimp. I'm a curvy size ten with 34G boobs.
HowLongToXmas · 23/09/2020 15:50

Lunch today was a jacket potato with baked beans, dinner will be potato gnocchi with a veggie tomato sauce and I'm snacking on a couple of pieces of fruit. Breakfast was avocado on toast.
Heygirlheyboy · 23/09/2020 15:56

That certainly seems a nutritious menu. My quiche slice was massive, will I input 500 for it?

Heygirlheyboy · 23/09/2020 16:00

Perhaps Lalanbaba will see in the morning!

IDontMindMarmite · 23/09/2020 16:25

ok, without weighing yourself it will be hard to calculate your TDEE, just wondering why you're aiming so low?

HowLongToXmas · 23/09/2020 17:54

Because over the past two years I put on some weight. I used to be 110 pounds (yes I looked slim but good slim, not overly slim - at least in my eyes) until then. So I'd like to go back to that.

TheHoneyBadger · 23/09/2020 19:59

That’s under 8stone! Have you ever had an eating disorder? Sorry but your goal and approach don’t sound healthy

TheHoneyBadger · 23/09/2020 20:07

Bmi of 18.7. With your size g breasts (which a calculator can’t figure in) I can’t see how that’s healthy and realistic. Don’t want to judge, and you haven’t told us how much you weigh but I think you could be putting yourself mentally and physically at risk Sad

My appetite returned. I’ve had overnight oats with all the trimmings and fish, rice and green veg. Sucking on humbugs at the minute in the hopes they’ll soothe my throat.

Heygirlheyboy · 23/09/2020 20:37

110lbs is down as lowest healthy bmi for me at 5ft2..I've never been so low tbh and I've a v slight frame.

Great appetite is back Honeybadger hopefully you're on the up!

Monochrome4 · 23/09/2020 21:48

Anyone else had a week when they thought they'd done everything right and stuck reasonably well to the exercise and calorie target but stuck at the same weight (even put a bit on)? So annoying!

Heygirlheyboy · 23/09/2020 21:55

Jordan Syatt posted on this just yesterday, here's link to tweet twitter.com/SyattFitness/status/1308475199906607108?s=19

He also says plateaus are very normal and part of the process. Now I've gone up to 1686 I'm sure I'll have some when activity level is low.
