Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 30lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

Jump in 😊. You’ll be glad you did this time next month 😀.

Hi @GalaxyGirl24 :)

Sundaypolodog · 01/08/2020 20:28

Hi can I join you all, please

I've reached a point where I know I can't possibly get any bigger and I've never in my life been this big 13 stone 6 lb - blame it on lockdown - but only partly - 1 stone. I'm 5ft 7. I feel like a big fat bloated slug

I've been finding it really hard to stick with a diet for more than a few days - blame it on COVID maybe??

I tell myself I need to eat less to lose weight but I want to eat what I want too, within reason. I don't want to cut out food groups - I tried that and it made my eating habits a bit crazy.

I'm thinking I'll do calorie counting - it gives me choice and flexibility - then I wonder about going back to weight watcher but I can't stand the commercialism of it.

I'm worried about COVID being so fat too

Any thoughts on, or advice on calorie counting or weight watchers is welcome

Thanks for reading

Inspired not only to post lunch but get off my butt and add in the Swiss chard.
I’m really enjoying Leslie Walk Walk Walk! real are you doing any of her videos?
sunday yesterday I listened to a you tube video from Harvard Medical School, Dr. David Ludwig was speaking. He’s the author of the book Always Hungry. MY TAKE, is you need to eat real food. Old fashioned oats, bread made with older simpler grains, lean meat. Avoid any chemical substitutes. And eat regular meals, three times a day then no snacking.
I’m also drinking an immune boost combination; 1 1/2 tsp turmeric (yup powdered spice stuff), 1 1/2 TBSP of maple syrup, and the juice of 1 1/2 lemons. This then gets diluted into 16 oz of water. This becomes the base. I’ll pour myself 4 oz and again dilute in 8 oz of water/ice and sip throughout the day. Ginger can also be added.

@Galvantula what spam?

Welcome @GalaxyGirl24 & @Sundaypolodog.

Heres a TDEE calculator. Put your stats in and it calculates what you need to stay the same, or lose or gain depending on individual needs.

@fallfallfall that looks delicious 😋

Chips were a bit disappointing as the gang were stuck in traffic taking four times as long to get home as usual. Nice enough but I've had better.

You're welcome *@TheRealHousewife. I only started the thread, didn't post the helpful links but it was nice to start a thread and have people join in Grin.

Galvantula · 01/08/2020 22:35

Most have been deleted. Usual user spamming all the weight loss threads with the AMAZING links! 🙄

fallfallfall · 02/08/2020 07:13

11:15 pm and my neighbors backyard wedding is still going strong...meanwhile the chocolate covered raisins are calling my name I’m NOT hungry just craving the flavor.

TheRealHousewife · 02/08/2020 09:16

Happy Sunday ☀️

@Galvantula do MN remove the whole thing now? I thought they posted something had been removed? For a minute I thought you had been referring to my post 😅

@fallfallfall great that you recognise you’re not hungry and it’s a taste craving. Not always easy to separate. Hope you managed to get some sleep.

Morning all and welcome newbies!

Yesterday was much better.

B - rice cakes with peanut butter and banana
L - Greek chicken wrap, soy broad beans and an apple
D - fruit and fibre cereal
S - chocolate
E - ran 7.6k and rode horse

Just a light dinner as I got in from work at 10 and didn’t fancy anything else. Felt much better listening to my body - I guess after being either on or off a diet for so long I need to re-educate myself in eating intuitionally again.
Working 22:00-02:00 tonight and woke up too early because next doors kids were having an almighty tantrum.

About to pop out for a run. Another one of the badges I’m missing is 7 runs in a week so I’m trying that this first week as it will get me ahead of the mileage!

Have a good day everyone

Galvantula · 02/08/2020 13:13

Well after I reported the post, I searched the username and reported them as a spammer. Grin Maybe the whole user got pulled from the site?

@fallfallfall I love chocolate raisins😍 I'm glad M&S do a mini packet of their Belgian chocolate ones now as I used to end up eating a whole 125g bag fairly quickly Blush

Nothing to report, I skipped weighing this morning. Eating ok today and keeping out of the snack cupboard. :)

TheRealHousewife · 02/08/2020 16:29

Here’s my main meal of the day, Spicy Chicken Burrito Bowl with quinoa & home made hummus. The lettuce I grew in the garden. One of the more calorific dishes I do but it’s so delicious and keeps you full. Full of protein, healthy fats and some healthy carbs too. To set me up for tomorrow’s FD.

@Galvantula I’m pleased you had the eagle eye to spy them and well done MN for kicking their butt off the site 😬

@Foreverlexicon have a good shift! You seem to be right on it in regards to exercise. I’m unable to do much but not done anything today as the pancy that I am, I pulled my back yanking a weed up. Yes really! 😬

Bit of a frustrating start to the day, went to donate blood and as I arrived at the donation centre got a text to say they had to cancel due to staffing issues. 9am on a Sunday morning so nothing else open to do. Also meant I had to start my eating window early today as couldn't go on an empty belly, so had a very early dinner and will be drinking a lot of water to avoid snacking later.

Breakfast - scrambled egg with spring onions and sausage pieces in
Lunch - crustless quiche
Dinner - turkey, mushroom and babycorn stir fry
Snack - skinny latte coffee drink (emmi brand)

Galvantula · 02/08/2020 19:49

@TheRealHousewife that looks delicious 😍. We had a home made pizza day, very tasty but not v healthy.

Weight loss threads seem to be a major target for spammers, I get irrationally annoyed about it 😂

Aurorie11 · 02/08/2020 20:02

Can I join please?
I lost 3 stone and put it all back. Lockdown has been rubbish, my Mum died of Covid, and been working through it plus two kids homeschooling so stress through the roof. I think I put weight on but didn't dare weigh myself.
I know my fitness had dropped as my resting heart rate went up to 68 bpm, so have made a conscious attempt to walk daily. My resting heart rate is back down to 63-64.
I know my weight was 14.1 in January it had gone up, I weighed myself in the week and was 13.10, I'm aiming to weigh monthly to even out small fluctuations. I need to be about 9 stone

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 02/08/2020 20:29

Hi @Aurorie11 welcome and so sorry to hear about your mum Thanks

Lockdowns been a right fucker weight wise. I'm 16 stone 5, my ideal weight according to the calculators is 9 stone 8 which is about what I weighed when I first went to weight watchers as an 11 year old with my mum. Don't know if I'll ever get there but I want to see how close I can get!

TheRealHousewife · 02/08/2020 20:33

A warm welcoming embrace @Aurorie11, you’re safe here. To say you’ve been through the mill is an understatement. What a terrible time you’ve had. Here is a safe place to vent, share the trials, tribulations & celebrations of life. I’m the same, my long term goal is around 9st. I’m a slow loser though.

I agree @Galvantula spammers are very irritating.

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 what a disappointment for you. BTW your menu looks appetising 😋

Hello all

Some lovely menu plans and photos. We had a paella for tea which was delicious.

Welcome to the new faces!

@fallfallfall this week I'm alternating Leslie one night and Adrienne (yoga) the next.

I saw the spam, but didn't bother to report it was too early so thanks @Galvantula We are making pizza tomorrow night.

Well done on the food and exercise @Foreverlexicon and hope you manage that odd shift time.

Uhm... brain a bit blank now...apart from Grrr @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 I know they wouldn't want to cancel willy nilly, but wow that's annoying!

happinessischocolate · 03/08/2020 06:06

Thanks for the welcome @TheRealHousewife, I had a proper lightbulb moment about 3 weeks ago when someone on another thread said they'd lost a stone and a half doing 1200 calories a day, and I thought how? That's not fair, I'm doing 1200 and I haven't lost that much.....then it occurred to me that I was eating my exercise calories and going over my quota by 200-300 on a regular basis 🤷‍♀️ so since then I've started counting "properly" 😁

I weigh myself everyday as I don't have a big expectation once a week, it's amazing how much my weight can change in a day, but the general trend is downwards so all good.

I'm trying to get a kettlebell, so I can tone up my sumo belly but can't find one for love or money.

Happy Monday everyone, have a great day

TheRealHousewife · 03/08/2020 07:36

Good Morning 😊

Let’s have a great week. This time next Monday you’ll be glad you did. That’s not saying if you fall of the wagon, you’ve ruined the week, that just means your human and sometimes life gets in the way. Vent away and and we’ll pull you back on 😬

Happy to say I stayed on plan all weekend and the scales rewarded me with a small loss. I must admit last night was a struggle. I was so tempted to have something, anything but I didn’t want to spoil my IF window. It was a hunger feeling but I knew it would pass by this morning and it has. I know I’m sleep deprived and that plays havoc with the leptin that regulates hunger.

@happinessischocolate We are all different. There are so many variables in regards to weight loss or maintaining. How active we are, Illness, medications, age, gender, muscle composition etc.

Menu Today
Portobello Mushroom Pizza

Cod, mixed greens sweet potato.

Drinks 1skinny latte, tea and water ... lots of water. Sometimes it just won’t go down.

We're off to a farmpark today, me and DD are ridiculously excited, this will be the first time she's played on slides, swings etc since March, and the first time we've left the city boundary.

Not sure what I'm going to have for food as I think the cafe will be mainly sandwiches and I'm staying away from bread but I'll figure something out.

Foreverlexicon · 03/08/2020 10:29

@TheRealHousewife I’m determined not to let the exercise slip - it’s been massively helping my mental health and I think it will be key to me maintaining as I have a terrible sweet tooth and nature of the job means plenty of snacking on rubbish. That dinner looks delicious!

Good day yesterday. Felt like I ate a bit too much sweet stuff but it was a long day (awake 8am-4am) and I had to bring cake to work for making a mistake earlier in the week. It was all small portions too. (Cake fines, it’s a thing) Feeling slim though which surprises me given how I ate towards the end of last week but we will see.

B - yoghurt with granola and berries
S - grapes and melon
L - risotto with garlic bread and salad
D - fruit and fibre cereal
S - few chocolate truffles, 2 lotus biscuits and a tiny piece of cake
E - ran 10k and rode the horse

Basically having the same day as yesterday. Will run (shorter one today), ride and work 22:00-02:00.

MrsJonesAndMe · 03/08/2020 12:44
