Me personally? In the main it’s been a way of life for nearly 3 years and I’ve lost over 30lbs. I had a bit of blip at the start of C19. After all my hard work I just started eating with impunity. Before I knew it I was10lbs up! I needed to get back on it and COVID proof myself 😬 I calorie count, log via MFP app, Intermittent fast, eat-low carb Mediterranean style aka Fast800 Plan and try to stay well hydrated.

There are so many enjoyable lifestyle options out there without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by doing walking vids & strength sessions with light weighs.

As no one size fits all members need to follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless this thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

There is no shaming, competition or harsh words to be found on this thread. We are in this together.

How do you plan to do it? What do you want to achieve? What excites you about your future self? Together, we can create a whole new you!

Jump in 😊. You’ll be glad you did this time next month 😀.

Oh dear @SunshineCake is he drinking and eating? Otherwise I think you need to get him to the vet, poor thing!

SunshineCake · 09/08/2020 10:56

He's not eating but last night perked up a bit when I spoon fed him some water. I can't bear the thought of not being with him if he needs putting to sleep as last time I went to the vet they weren't letting anyone in.

I have just put some home grown mint, parsley and broccoli leaves in for him plus more water and a dish of treat food. I'm going to leave him for a bit now to hopefully sleep off whatever it is. It is a bit cooler here today so hoping that will help. I'm wondering about putting him in the playpen in the kitchen but that might be too much at the moment.

Happy Sunday 🌞

Yesterday went to plan. Today has been OMAD. Roast salmon, mozzarella & massive salad with balsamic & olive oil dressing. Followed by Greek yoghurt and chopped pecans. Latte & 2 cups tea with milk = 1100 calories. Fully satiated and done for the day. Sparkling water & herbal teas until bedtime. Hoping for a decent weigh in tomorrow.

@SunshineCake ❤️

Hi all. Today has been a good day so far, 7 days in a row I've hit my step target, mainly because of DDs park obsession. Just need to figure out when to fit my walks in once I'm back to working tomorrow.

B - nothing
L - snack plate from the fridge, 2 boiled eggs, cottage cheese and a couple of carrots chopped up
D - will be beef casserole and green beans

rivierliedje · 09/08/2020 18:35

Had an up and down weekend. Yesterday did some work that needed doing but only had a small walk (did hit my step target though) and today finished off a second lot of work, and headed off for a lovely walk along the coast, was about 11km in total, but no idea on steps as my phone battery has given up the ghost and is only lasting about 45 minutes now. Which is a shame as all my excericise runs through my phone.
I'll have to dig out my ipod and download the cough to 5k and strength and flex podcasts there until I can get myself a new phone (or get it fixed?).
I made a lovely loaf of bread yesterday and had some of that for breakfast, lovely salad bowl out for lunch (with treat slice of cake) and orange as a snack.

CormoranStrike · 09/08/2020 19:15

I’m doing juicing for two of my meals if I can - absolutely delicious and time will tell of it helps my weight loss, but it definitely helps my healthy eating.

SunshineCake · 09/08/2020 19:57

Can you all keep your fingers crossed please for SunshinePiggy to survive the night ? DS1 is coming home tomorrow and really wants to see him. He's coming earlier so he can stroke him and has said to put the flag out if he is okay.

Galvantula · 09/08/2020 20:19

Positive piggy thoughts @SunshineCake. 😔

On paper this has been a good week for me, but the scales haven't budged at all. I guess because AF is imminent. Hoping for a whoosh next week! 😅

Still trying not to stress at whether I'm ready to send 3 kids to school this week. It's been a very long time of not having to herd them all out of the door. 😱

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 09/08/2020 20:35

Sending good thoughts @SunshineCake

@Galvantula DD is due to go back in 2 and a half weeks and we're in a lockdown city so I'm feeling a little apprehensive too. Trying to wrap my head around the facts that the experts feel it's unsafe for us to go into other peoples private homes or leisure centres, swimming pools, beauty treatments etc but it is apparently safe to send my kid into close contact with 30 other households for 7 hours a day???

CormoranStrike · 09/08/2020 20:53

Best of luck to little piggy x

fallfallfall · 09/08/2020 21:06

Positive piggy vibes from way over here heading your way :)

SunshineCake · 09/08/2020 22:18

Thank you everyone. I've put him to bed with a big handful of hay. He has treat food, a dish of veg, carrot slivers, home grown mint and parsley and two water bottles.

Education is so important as we all know. My younger two are due to go into year 11 and 13. Schools need to go back and I think it is partly because generally children don't suffer if they get the virus and there has been no cases of pupil to teacher transmission.

If we could have done a lock down like New Zealand did then we'd be in a better place now but sadly there are too many people like those queuing for pubs and beaches stood centimetres away from each other for it to have been accepted; and some people lack the intelligence, empathy or maturity to know we needed to suffer in a different way to not suffer in a bereavement way.

wizzler · 10/08/2020 07:15

Hope piggie is ok this morning.

It's my weigh in day and I am at 11 st 13 which means a steady loss of 1b, and 15 lbs in total.

I often lose motivation at this stage... Need to keep going this time... 11 st by xmas is definitely doable .

Foreverlexicon · 10/08/2020 07:46

Well done @wizzler slow and steady is the way!

@SunshineCake hope piggy is okay this morning.

I had a better day yesterday.

B - fruit and fibre cereal
L - carrot sticks with humous, packet of pop chips, tiny sliver of cake
S - nectarine
D - pork chops, roasted broccoli and sweet potato
S - ice cream
E - rode the horse

On a late shift today. Plan to go for a quick run then ride before work.

TheRealHousewife · 10/08/2020 10:18

Good Morning

Stayed on point over the weekend. Was rewarded by scales this morning with a drop to 9st 7.1lbs. I’ve not seen that weight since before my SCI 4 years ago. I honestly thought I’d never see it again.

Today’s menu is prawn salad for lunch and chicken curry for dinner. This is a picture of my roast salmon I had yesterday on OMAD.

@wizzler Well done 👍 Your Christmas target is very doable. Keep on it. Come Christmas you’ll be pleased you did 😊

@Foreverlexicon your menu looks very appetising as always 👍

@SunshineCake how’s the little guinea pig? ❤️

@Galvantula hope your whoosh comes soon!

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 Well done on the consistent stepping! My ‘good’ days are always followed by a not so good day. Muscles can’t do it every day.

@CormoranStrike welcome, you’ve come to the right place for support. You can achieve your goals if you’re in the right head space. You’ve made a great start cutting out unhealthy snacks 👍

Wishing everyone a great week!

SunshinePiggy died on DH's lap this morning 💔 💔

Galvantula · 10/08/2020 12:55

Aw sorry to hear that @SunshineCake. :(

SunshineCake · 10/08/2020 14:22

Thank you @Galvantula. We are all devastated. DS2 has been crying in his room and I am worried about him. He popped out but then saw dh taking the run down Sad so went back to his room. Hasn't eaten. I keep crying when I see his things around.

fallfallfall · 10/08/2020 14:24

😢 sunshine

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 10/08/2020 14:54

so sorry @SunshineCake ThanksThanks

SunshineCake · 10/08/2020 15:43

Thank you @fallfallfall and @TorysSuckRevokeArticle50.

I rang the vet and they couldn't give me an appointment until late afternoon Shock. I would have thought given it was clear he was very poorly they would say come immediately. I know they were busy but even so. I was looking for the number of another vet when dh called me in and said it was time Sad. Horrible to think if he has been a cat or dog they would have fit them in but Guinea Pigs..

I keep looking where his bed was and when I was preparing some herbs I put some aside for him.

RIP gorgeous boy, back with your friend ❤️💔

SunshineCake · 10/08/2020 15:44

He went about but ten minutes after DS1 came home so I like to think he waited for him.

MrsJonesAndMe · 10/08/2020 15:59

Sorry to hear it @SunshineCake they do become part of the family whatever pet they are.

Wow, well done @wizzler and @TheRealHousewife and never mind @Galvantula it will go down if you keep it up. wonder what part the heat is playing?!

Your menu sounds lovely @Foreverlexicon

We are having a BBQ. Might melt! Dreading the next 2 days which is going to be very full on and also Friday afternoon which involves multiple shops to sort school shoes, return uniform that doesn't fit and a hair cut for DS.

Catch up with you all later!

fallfallfall · 10/08/2020 16:29

go mrsjones go! sounds like you need to get your roller skates on (it's an expression).
my scale is resisting going below 150 ;) i'm patient and i know it will happen.
i'm away from home tuesday-thursday, going to visit my eldest. i know i'll go okay with steps once at his place but the two 6 hr car rides will be hard to make up for.
then there will be food choices...
it's not so much will power that will be needed but simply choice.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 10/08/2020 16:37

@MrsJonesAndMe we did school shoes last week at Sainsbury's. Just a heads up in case you're planning to get from a supermarket, lots of them are not allowing trying on. We got lucky and the pair we bought fit but nearly bought 2 pairs just in case and would have returned the others.

Today has been a sat at my desk working kind of day so I need to get out for a walk later.

Food has been leftovers for breakfast and lunch, having pork chop and steamed veg for dinner.

Weighed this morning and stayed the same but it's AF week so hopefully that will change in the next couple of days.

Had a wonderful dream last night where I'd lost so much weight none of my clothes fit me anymore so I just emptied my whole wardrobe and undies drawer into bin bags and bought all new clothes. That's what I want! I'm a 22 now, I reckon if I could get to a 16 none of my current clothes would be wearable at all, even baggy jumpers and T-shirt dresses and I'd be able to ditch the lot.
