They look amazing Monstera ! I'd guess at about 400 too...maybe a bit less but I think 400 would be a safe bet.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 22/07/2020 13:16

Hi all,
My brain is in proper holiday mode. I'm gonna keep checking in with step count to be a bit accountable, but I won't list what I'm eating so I'm not a bad influence! I'll get back on it in a couple of weeks.
I'd agree with 400

Heygirlheyboy · 22/07/2020 13:23

Yes 400 a v decent allowance there.

I had a lot of chocolate yesterday and a cappuccino and a caramel slice mid morning today but am so bursting now I have no desire for more. Ratatouille with broccoli and feta salad for dinner later and will leave it at that for the day. Long walk needed also and will aim for a run tomorrow. Hounds you're great for being active! I had hoped to cycle to work but after last week's news it's now a 12 mile commute so won't be possible. However with an hours change I may fit in exercise on the mornings..

MonsteraCheeseplant · 22/07/2020 13:45

I was secretly hoping you'd say no, it's 300 max!

Iggle - good to see i'm not the only naughty one here, even if you're not advertising it!

Heygirlheyboy · 22/07/2020 13:56

Oh listen my morning coffee break was probably 500 cals!! Blush But these days will happen. We'll keep on. Enjoy every morsel.

TheHoneyBadger · 22/07/2020 14:09

Morning. I didn’t look at the item in your freezer to avoid temptation Grin

Weird night. Went to bed early but then was awake about 1am till about 7 and super thirsty and drank lots of water so stayed off the scales.

Went back to sleep for a few hours so am now over 17 hours into fast with no effort or hunger.

Planning to fast all day and then eat a healthy calorie light meal tonight. Need to get ahead of the calorie fest my weekend away is likely to be.

Kittens are definitely the cure for low mood x

Octopus37 · 22/07/2020 18:23

Wow Honeybadger you're doing well. Weighed 9st1.75 this morning. Haven't had a brilliant day today either
Cereal bar
Terry's chocolate (90g bar)

Well done all! I'm getting bored of my food choices
B: porridge
L: tomato soup
S: duck gyoza
T: peaches
S: smoked salmon, pepper and lemon juice
I've lost 16 lbs overall, 12 stone 12 lbs.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 22/07/2020 20:03

That's amazing @SnowyMouse you're doing really well! Maybe give yourself a change up to some different types of soup & fruit to keep yourself interested :-)
I've been good in that I've had loads of fruit and veg and no booze, but bad in terms of bread and sweet treats. Done about 16000 steps too

SnowyMouse · 22/07/2020 20:09

Thanks @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket That's a good idea Smile Well done on the fruit and veg!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 22/07/2020 21:14

Well done everyone! Your continued efforts are inspiring.

The mood has lifted in this house today and things instantly feel so much easier. We got out for a nice long walk as well. Only a week and 3 days until kitten collection, not that i'm counting.

B: Yoghurt, toast and honey
L: Chicken noodle soup
D: Spag bol
S: 1 french fancy, decadent brownie, mini Reese's cup

I lost 1lb but anticipate a big weekend - takeaway Friday and family birthday dinner on Saturday. so am continuing 1400 a day for the rest of the month. Then I plan to continue adding 100 cals per week to find maintenance.

TheHoneyBadger · 22/07/2020 21:22

Well done snowy.

Got to 24hrs of my fast and have now had a 200cal can of veg soup with a bit of halloumi chopped in and a handful of nuts.

Will brave the scales tomorrow. Bit tempted by yoghurt and honey but will try not to.

Hangoverstruggles · 22/07/2020 23:18

Evening all,

1400 today and similar planned for tomorrow. I'm up to 10st1 with period two days late (😳) - 3lb heavier than my lightest but with hormone fluctuations plus a big good weekend I'm ok with that.

This Weekend we're going away, bbq & takeaways planned etc. I'm going to eat mindfully but enjoy myself, and will deal with the gains afterwards!

Continuing with the exercise. Long fast walk tonight, and Hiit workout class last night.

Keep going everyone.

Well done Badger! Fingers crossed the scales are kind! Monstera - sounds like a sensible plan.

KatherineParr4 · 23/07/2020 05:19

It’s making me quite depressed reading about some of the things people are eating and still losing weight! I just could not eat any cakes or treats and still lose weight. I’m tracking everything and lost about 3 pounds last week. So far this week have lost nothing.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/07/2020 06:35

3lbs in 1 week is amazing @KatherineParr4!! Don't be surprised if you loss is inconsistent though week on week, it's never going to be nice and linear unfortunately! How are you going about weight loss? Fasting, calorie counting, low carb etc?

KatherineParr4 · 23/07/2020 06:38

Calorie counting. I have done low carb before but this time it’s not the right approach. I haven’t done much exercise in the past three days and that’s probably the problem. Thanks for the encouragement @MonsteraCheeseplant!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/07/2020 06:48

I'm a big fan of CICO (calories in calories out) because of the ability to have treats. It's why low carb didn't work for me before, I can't cut anything forever I reckon! I like this facebook group called lose weight, eat pizza. It follows CICO principles. Have you calculated your TDEE?

KatherineParr4 · 23/07/2020 07:01

Yes I have but I am not sure what MFP has calculated for me. I should check.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 23/07/2020 07:12

tdeecalculator.net/ is good. Losing 1lb a week should roughly equate to 500 cals below your TDEE per day, or 3500 over a week.

TheHoneyBadger · 23/07/2020 07:15

My weight is up 2.4lbs strangely.

Will hope it’s a weird fluctuation but I did predict I might have a delayed gain coming from the few days I felt poorly and was inactive and eating higher in calories food than usual in the evening.

Have a good day everyone

Octopus37 · 23/07/2020 07:54

It will balance out HoneyBadger, could it be hormones? KatherineParr, 3 pounds in a week is amazing. I agree with the others about not low carbing, cause I dont think its sustainable long term.

9st1.75 for me this morning, two pounds off by the end of July would be amazing. Going to try and be more focused for the next few days.

everycowandagain · 23/07/2020 09:44

Morning all. Today I am living proof of wild weight fluctuations caused by bowel related things. Had a really dodgy tummy last night, down 3lb today compared to yesterday. Not looking any leaner at all, so it's definitely not fat loss!!

Feeling quite drained (literally!!) and also really struggling with a pulled back muscle, so it's not going too well for me.

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

everycowandagain · 23/07/2020 09:49

@KatherineParr4 stick with it. One thing I have learned is that it's all about patience. Double check your calorie allowance and keep logging a consistent deficit.

I am also a fan of calorie counting because nothing is banned, I can load up on veg and feel really full without using all my calorie allowance and I can tweak the calorie level depending on how hard I want to push it.

KatherineParr4 · 23/07/2020 10:54

@everycowandagain

Yes, I agree. What I have found is that if I eat my exercise calories I don’t lose. I haven’t done much exercise in the past three days so haven’t had a deficit. I think that’s the problem. Thanks for the encouragement!

TheHoneyBadger · 23/07/2020 11:33

I’m not stressing octopus. I wanted to stay at lowest because I’m going away for a few days and know eating and drinking will be higher but it’ll be ok. At the minute I seem to be pretty chill with fluctuations and the fact that this is going to take time. Hopefully I can retain that attitude as my previous stressing didn’t achieve anything other than stress Grin
