@Jannyapple66 I'm the same age as you 😃

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 20:40

Cambridge weight plan , no apology needed
I’d not heard of it until recently

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 20:41

Oh fab .. lol
I’ve only registered here today looking for some support with this journey but wondered if I was a bit old for it all
I thought it was for mums with babies lol my youngest baby is 25

Quackersandcheese3 · 27/06/2020 20:44

I’m similar height and weight as you OP. I just started the 5:2 fast plan and have lost some inches after couple weeks.

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 20:44

@Jannyapple66 my youngest is 20 but I also have a 25 and 27 year old that no longer live at home. I'm happy that we have found each other.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 20:48

@Vilt

Can I join you? I think I'm the fattest here SadConfused at 12:12 and only 5'1'' I was already overweight and lockdown has just sent me into a crazy spiral of out of control eating. Every night I go to bed determined to do better the next day and every day its all gone out the window by lunch time. I've been resisting calorie counting, telling myself that I don't want to have an unhealthy obsession with what I eat but in truth I think I just don't want to face up to how bad the situation is.
You the not the "fattest" here Vilt Think of it as you could be the one having the biggest success Our weight are all relevant to ourselves I have a friend who's 8 stone and thinks she's fat .... silly cow Smile
BurnIt · 27/06/2020 20:49

6 to 10 thousand steps isn't active. 10 thousand should be your minimum. Aim for 15000 and you'll do better.

I'm enormous by the way but joined team RH in January, bought a step counter and went from 5 or 6 (on a good day) to 15000 plus. The food side of things is an education too.

BurnIt · 27/06/2020 20:50

I've gone from 19 stone to 17 and I've been slack really.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 20:51

@sevendevils
Yes me too
Seems like there are lots of us in the same boat
Let's do this !!! Wink

ShortieOnaDiet · 27/06/2020 20:53

I’m 5’3” and 6 weeks ago I weighed 12.2 stone - squarely in the obese category Shock

I’ve never been this fat. Even pregnant with DC 4 I barely tipped the scales at 10 stone.

I’d been squeezing into my size 12s and was totally in denial.

I’ve now lost 20lbs. I reckon I’ve got the best part of another 30lbs to go to get to ideal weight but taking it one step at a time.

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 20:56

@ShortieOnaDiet you have done really well. I hope that I can stick at it as I am really unhappy with my weight.

ShortieOnaDiet · 27/06/2020 20:58

Thanks.

Lockdown has helped I have more time for exercise as I’m not commuting and I’m barely socialising.

I wish I’d started in March but at least I’ve started now.

Vilt · 27/06/2020 21:00

@Jannyapple66 you're right, of course, it's all relative.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:01

That's what I was thinking ! If I'd started at the beginning of lockdown I could be at target by the end .. it's unfortunately made things worse for me lol
I'm a key worker so haven't been stuck at home but have been so fed up and bored evenings and weekends

RandomMess · 27/06/2020 21:07

I gained weight after being at home with the DC for 6 years and then returning to my office job Sad

I lost a few stone about 6 years ago and felt great... then one Christmas I got lots of chocolates and I binged on them and put it all back on plus more.

November I was 9.10 I lost a stone in a few months then lockdown happened and It started going back ups Got it back down and now time to lose at least another stone especially as I have high cholesterol Sad

Pre kids I was 6.3 so I still feel huge and need to be under 8 stone. Need to start being disciplined again and not fall off the bandwagon when my period is due 😂 I have a huge wardrobe of gorgeous clothes waiting for me...

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 21:07

I have gained loads during lock down. I'm glad that today I have at least started. Chocolate is my down fall, I know no limits. I've managed to get through today though, just need to keep it up.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:12

@sevendevils

Are you following a specific plan ? I'm on day 2 , am also a chocoholic with sweets biscuits cakes and all things sugar being my addiction
Not had anything in these 2 days so feeling positive ... for now

DulciUke · 27/06/2020 21:14

I'm only 5' and weigh 13.8. I've been saying for the past few years that I would lose the weight by the time I was 60. Just turned 60 and I am still morbidly obese. However, shortly before lockdown in March, I started working on it a bit and have lost 15 pounds so far. It isn't coming off fast, but it is slowly going down, just by eating a bit less and walking a bit more. Looking forward to hearing about others' journeys for inspiration.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:20

@DulciUke
That's a great start , well done you
I think you gave those 15lbs to me ! Smile

RandomMess · 27/06/2020 21:22

@Jannyapple66 stick with it! Ditch the sugar and carbs- hold out for 2 weeks, no sweetners either after that the cravings go massively and just substitute with fruit.

Sugar and sweetners are so addictive!!!

DiploCat1 · 27/06/2020 21:22

Can I join in too please? 5ft 1 and 10 stone 5.5. Am 5 months postpartum and would like to shift at least a stone, preferably a stone and a half. Have a definite mum tum after my c section, and never really lost the weight between my first and second babies. I downloaded Noom yesterday and will do the 2 week trial and see how it goes. Trying to cut out sugar as that is my downfall and also watch portion sizes. Walk for an hour a day with the buggy but that's it for exercise.

prolefeed · 27/06/2020 21:26

I’m 5’2” and discovered two days ago that I’m 13.10. I knew I’d put weight on during lockdown but I can’t really ignore that, can I?
Fuckit. I’m 49 and my metabolism has ground to a halt. I used to run marathons.
My babies are 16 - 20yo.
I put new batteries in my scales yesterday, hence the shock.
I don’t weigh food and I don’t calorie count.
Now that I’ve got all the ‘I, I, I’ off my chest, I’ll be scouring for tips. Smile But mostly I’ll be kicking off with Anna Richardson body blitz because it fits in with my aversion to weighing food and counting calories...
Yay for a shorties thread!

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:27

@RandomMess
Yes , that's the aim
I really need to do this , it's got harder as I've got older and I know when I lose a bit of weight I look so much younger
I also need to think about health , blood pressure cholesterol diabetes etc and most importantly... some skinny jeans hanging in my wardrobe Wink

ShortieOnaDiet · 27/06/2020 21:32

Yes to the wardrobe full of lovely clothes that I can no longer wear. Hopefully another 6 weeks and there’ll be a whole lot more I can get into

RandomMess · 27/06/2020 21:36

@Jannyapple66 I know I'm Peri and always been apple shaped even when skinny but now I just look pregnant even though I am now not technically "overweight"
