Well, for the second night in a row, I broke down and had a candy binge. And for the second day in a row, I'm down a pound! Could candy be the key to weight loss? Very weird. At any rate, I'm not counting calories, but trying to eat less in general and greatly increase my vegetable intake.

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 14:53

@DulciUke
Wish I could eat sweets and still lose
My problem is I can't have one sweet biscuit chocolate or cake
Once I've started I can't stop Smile
That's my aim to just follow healthy eating habits and increase the good stuff whilst getting rid of the bad
I'm just doing this 1:1 as a boost for as long as I can stand it

DulciUke · 28/06/2020 14:54

The last time that I was this weight was 1994! I tend to weigh in on Mondays (easier to cut back on weekends), but there's no reason that I can't weigh in on Fridays too. Joining the Friday's weigh in club.

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 14:54

Yes @Jannyapple66 we really must stick at it. I decided to have a bath earlier instead of a shower. You get to see a lot more of yourself in the bath. It really wasn't great, even my feet look fat. It is much worse than I originally thought. But, we can do something about it. Just got to stick at it. First hurdle is to get through to Friday.

DulciUke · 28/06/2020 14:56

Oh I'm a binger too JennyApple66. I'll buy a box of sugary cereal and eat the whole box dry, all in one night. Same with crisps and pretzels. Some foods I simply can't bring in the house.

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 14:57

@DulciUke @sevendevils
That's great news
I'm planning a pamper session later
Face mask hair mask file nails shave legs body moisture... bloody hell the cat won't recognise me

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 14:57

@DulciUke glad that you are joining the Fat Friday weigh in.

BarelyMerry · 28/06/2020 15:00

Hello fellow short tubsters! I am 5'1'' with norkage and a belly. I tried intermittent fasting a couple of years ago combined with a daily 4 mile walk - that worked well, but although the walking has stayed, I found the intermittent fasting tough! I am mid-menopause, and am finding my belly fat expanding....help!

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 15:05

@BarelyMerry my tits are massive, but not in a good way😬

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 15:07

Hi @BarelyMerry welcome to the shortie club Smile
I had a hysterectomy when I was 31 so thankfully did all that a long time ago
Come and join the kick ass bunch of Friday weighers who are absolutely determined to do this

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 15:07

@Jannyapple66 bloody hell we really are twins. I am planning a pamper session later too. It's going to take a lot of products. I'm looking forward to it.

WhatALearningCurve · 28/06/2020 15:25

Hi,

I'm 5ft 4 and on the 20th April I was I was 12st 10

This morning I was 10 stone 12. Still got 6lb till healthy BMI and I want to get to around 9 1/2 stone to maintain but I'm getting there!

I've been sticking to under 1400 calories (as per MFP) and making sure I walk 10k steps a day - quite easily done as I've got a 1 year old so I put him in the pram for exercise. Most days I try not to go over 1200.

I have a Protein World shake for breakfast then tend to have a meal late afternoon / after sons bedtime - I can make quite a big portion because it's the majority of my calories so I don't feel restricted and still have a treat in the evening if I feel like it.

The threads on the weight loss boards regarding losing 7lb a month have been really helpful and motivating!

Just thought I'd let you know that even as a shortie the weight loss is possible!

WhatALearningCurve · 28/06/2020 15:29

@chocolateteabag @feckmesideways

If you have a blender thing I'd do your shakes in there rather than physically shaking them up. Makes them a lot thicker and satisfying and more like actual shakes so they feel like a sweet treat

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 15:38

I agree about the blender
Bought this fab one off Amazon last week
Best 21 quid I've spent
Portable , chargeable by USB , perfect size and looks so good
Love it ... I'm new to MN so it won't let me post a pic
It's called Topesct blender ... love it
No lumpy powdery bits at all lol

WhatALearningCurve · 28/06/2020 15:40

Ha @Jannyapple66 I've got this one off Amazon too, different brand but sounds similar.

It’s come to my attention that I’m fat. Pre obese in fact.
Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 15:42

Yes @WhatALearningCurve looks very similar idea
It's amazing how this gadget has spurred me on Smile

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 16:01

I was given a Fitbit years ago but didn't really use it. I've worn it for the last two days and I love it. I didn't realise that you can log food, water intake, weight etc on the app. Also didn't realise that it gives you mobile notifications when you get a text or call. So far today I've done 12,000 steps as I've walked the dogs. I've also just read that on the newer fitbits you can use it to pay like Apple Pay. Mind blown!

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 16:11

@sevendevils this is getting spooky lol
I love my Fitbit too , it's quite up to date but I don't think it pays like Apple
It's great for when my phone is on silent I can see texts and calls
You've just made me go and put it on charge so I can get it on tomorrow and try do my steps
Wonder what other spooky thing we can find out we have in common

sevendevils · 28/06/2020 16:19

@Jannyapple66 you are right, it is spooky. I may as well use my Fitbit. It's just been gathering dust in the kitchen drawer. I'm surprised it still works.

LemonPeonies · 28/06/2020 17:22

Hey everyone, I've done a lot better since yesterday! Had a cheese salad for dinner (with a bit of bread) 😬. But today I downloaded a calorie tracking app and so far so good! I should be having 1200 cals a day to lose weight but with breastfeeding can have an extra 400, although I'm going to try and have less than that for maximum weight loss and cut out the carbs and sugar.

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 17:38

Well done @LemonPeonies
That's great , looks like we are all staying on track
I admire you having that will power if breastfeeding ( which means small child ) it took me about 4 years to get out of my pyjamas never mind anything else

Chocolateteabag · 28/06/2020 17:43

Ooh I love a gadget - will have a look at blenders once I've got the DC in bed. Huel is a bit of a bugger to mix so that might just do the trick.

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 17:47

@Chocolateteabag wish I could upload a pic
Love your name ....Smile
Honestly best thing I've had off Amazon in a while and some lovely colours

Polkadotpjs · 28/06/2020 18:06

May I join? I was in severe denial after gaining 2 stone in 2 years. I blame sertraline. But in reality it's the wine and late night chocolate. I was 11,4 at start of lockdown. I'm now 10,9 but want o be be below 9,7 as at that weight I look 'ok'. I've been using Noom to calorie track and tonnes of exercise. Yoga 6/7 days and some HIIT or Joe Wickes at the start.
I need to eat less bread and the Noom thing is slowly making me think about if I want to eat stuff but this straight talking about that weight being nearly obsess is what I needed. Plus how I looked in the bath! Vile. I don't eat meat and find myself hungry after meals pretty quickly but have been denying the weight for so long. Gradually only wearing jeggings and buying a size 16 raincoat made me a bit "hmmm maybe it needs to be halted"

Jannyapple66 · 28/06/2020 18:26

Welcome @Polkadotpjs
Of course you can ... the more the merrier Wink
