@Jannyapple66 I'm not following any specific plan. Basically, if it is sweet, I want to eat it. I could quite easily ditch savoury food and live off chocolate, cakes and biscuits. I can easily sit and scoff two family bars of chocolate and not even feel a teeny bit sick. I have no cut off point. I am not one of those lucky people that can have one biscuit or small piece of cake and be happy. Unfortunately I have to ditch sugar completely if I want to lose weight.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:47

@sevendevils
We are 100% twins

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 21:49

@Jannyapple66 soon to be skinny twins.

DulciUke · 27/06/2020 21:49

I love sugar AND salt. Wish that I had cravings for broccoli when I get the munchies.

prolefeed · 27/06/2020 21:50

I am the opposite Grin give me all the cheesy, salty, crunchy goodness. Sugar is not my nemesis Smile

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 21:52

@DulciUke if the broccoli was covered in chocolate, I might consider it 😂

PowerslidePanda · 27/06/2020 21:54

@Vilt

Can I join you? I think I'm the fattest here SadConfused at 12:12 and only 5'1'' I was already overweight and lockdown has just sent me into a crazy spiral of out of control eating. Every night I go to bed determined to do better the next day and every day its all gone out the window by lunch time. I've been resisting calorie counting, telling myself that I don't want to have an unhealthy obsession with what I eat but in truth I think I just don't want to face up to how bad the situation is.
Aww, @Vilt Flowers I've been there ("I'll start properly tomorrow"). I think that getting going is the hardest part. Once you've got a week or two under your belt, it gets easier because you know you can do it, the new habits are becoming normal, slipping up will undo the hard work you've already put in, etc.
sevendevils · 27/06/2020 21:55

@prolefeed it's weird isn't it, I can have a cupboard full of savoury snacks and I wouldn't want any of it. Cadbury's whole nut is crack to me. You can keep your cheese.

Jannyapple66 · 27/06/2020 21:57

Well I'm a jock so I'd probably deep fry the broccoli and then drizzle it in chocolate
Night ladies , thank you OP for starting a shortie thread , I'm away to dream of a bag of haribos
Good luck to us all for a good day tomorrow
Can't wait to catch up thank you @sevendevils

@Feckmesideways - I've started using Huel as a time saver & diet tool

They suggest 2 scoops as a meal portion but I half it and have 1 scoop in 200ml of water - 200cals. That makes it pretty good value compared to the ones you can get at Holland & Barrett.

If you want a £10 off first order I can refer you - just DM me

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 22:01

Night, twin @Jannyapple66

Chocolateteabag · 27/06/2020 22:03

Just to add you have to give it a proper good shake to really mix Huel but it's pretty satisfying and the chocolate and vanilla options aren't too bad. You can also get flavours to add to it

Vilt · 27/06/2020 22:08

Thanks @PowerslidePanda for the flowers, and the kindness. You're right, if I can just get going then over time the new habits should become more normal

jessycake · 27/06/2020 22:14

Im 5ft 2 and weigh 12 stone 4lbs , I have put on a stone over lockdown . Most of this was in the first month or so , I couldn't go 10 minutes without looking in the fridge or cupboard and accidentally ate all the easter eggs that didn't get given out .

sevendevils · 27/06/2020 22:15

@Vilt I feel the same as you. Every night I go to bed stuffed to the brim with chocolate and I promise myself that I will start tomorrow. Tomorrow comes and by lunch time I have failed. It is so depressing. But, today I have made a start and have got through the day. If I can get a few days under my belt I know that I will be ok. Starting is the hardest part. At least I can wake up in the morning and be a little more positive.

I am just so fed up with the constant beating myself up about my weight. I can do something about it, we all can.

KarrieKay · 27/06/2020 22:17

That sounds good @PowerslidePanda. I’m calorie counting on mfp. Which is how I realised wine and snacks at weekend are my downfall. I’d like to try 16:8 but I start work v early in the morning so OH and I can both work and homeschool during lockdown and I’m usually starving by 8am!

daphne87 · 27/06/2020 22:40

I feel a bit of a 'fraud' joining in here since I'm not even technically overweight.

I'm 5ft 1 and 8st 5 , which is the highest I've ever been. It's not the weight itself that bothers me, it's the fact that it's gradually creeping up.

Pre lockdown I was really really active. I walked 8 miles a day (to work and back), and on my feet all day at work. On days off walked to my allotment and 4 miles school runs.

I used to eat A LOT and get away with it. Huge portion sizes, anything I liked. I like all food, healthy food, small amounts unhealthy food, wine, everything. People at work would comment on how much I ate.

Since lockdown the only exercise I get is some housework and a walk twice a week.

But I'm used to eating a lot so feeling deprived.

The weight has settled a lot on my stomach and feel frumpy.

Feckmesideways · 27/06/2020 23:16

@Chocolateteabag Thank you for the offer, but a friend gave me a £10 discount code earlier today. I’ve ordered two bags of the vanilla, I can’t wait to start!

Mumneedingadvice78 · 27/06/2020 23:19

I'm 5ft 2 and 10st 11. Horrendous!!!

MoonBaby1 · 28/06/2020 08:25

I went 145 kcal over my 1200 last night. Bloody crisps! I don’t know what I’m going to do when I fancy a drink. It was a very dry Saturday night.

How’s everyone else doing?

ZetaPuppis · 28/06/2020 08:42

I’m 5’2” and 11st 10lbs. I got up this morning and thought ‘right, that’s it! No more’ so I’m glad I found this thread Smile
I’m a bread addict. If I could live off marmite on toast and cheese sandwiches, I’d be happy. And crisps. They would add extra joy.
I want to give bsd a go as I’d love to see quick changes and I am fed up of being this weight. Especially in the summer, when every slim person looks great in their cool, light clothes.

MoonBaby1 · 28/06/2020 08:47

zeta bread (any carbs) are my downfall too. I could chain half a loaf with loads of butter and marmite!

I can take or leave chocolate and sweets.

OP posts:
Purplequalitystreet · 28/06/2020 08:49

This sounds like the thread for me! I'm just under 5'2 and last week I was 11st 5lb. My size 16 wedding dress wouldn't zip up! A week later and I'm 11st 1.5lb but still a long way to go.

ShortieOnaDiet · 28/06/2020 08:50

5 weeks in I’m finding it much easier. I’ve got out of the habit of constant snacking and always reaching for the bread when I’m hungry.

Now that I’ve seen changes in my body, and other people have too I’m more and more motivated to stick to it. I think starting and committing to start are the hardest.

MoonBaby1 · 28/06/2020 08:53

Starting is the hardest for me. I have to wait for that ‘enough of this’ moment before I can do anything.

Which is why I’m feeling positive! I’ve had that moment and I know I am going to do it!!
