I’ve just downloaded the nutra check app and plan to lose 2 stone by autumn.

Anyone need to lose a couple too?

Any advise please? I’ve never been so fat in my life Sad

What is everyone’s plan to tackle this? I feel a bit lost! When I did it the first time I was on 700 cals a day and it worked but was brutal. I’ve put it all back on again too!

I’m going to aim to stick between 800 - 1200 calories a day using MFP. Exercise for 30 mins a day. And not eat anything in the evenings and just drink water.

What works easily for me is sticking to 1,200 calories per day but I have that as 2 meals per day plus snacks.

I don't eat when I'm not hungry and I'm rarely hungry before 11.30am.

I actually think restricting calories to far is counter productive because it's not healthy or sustainable where as upping fro1200 to 1400 once the weight is lost is actually allowing yourself a couple of alcoholic drinks and the occasional snack.

I'm only 5' and 1200 was fine for long term sustained weight loss and then maintenance.

I am planning on 1,200 calories a day or less if I can manage it. Also I hate exercise so I'm not kidding myself that I will do it. Instead I will be walking the dogs at least twice a day. I am aiming for 10,000 steps a day. My plan is to not eat in the evening after 7pm.

Im bloody starving, my stomach hasn't adjusted to less food and it doesn't know what's hit it.

Just about to watch my 20 year old get stuck into pizza, garlic and cheese bread and rainbow coleslaw. I hate my life! 🤣

I never had this problem before hitting mid thirties. My weight in adult life has fluctuated between 8-10st and now (35yrs) I just can’t control it. I used to have a fast metabolism and even weighted less than I started after pregnancy.

I used to be under 10 stone and really quite fit. Now... not so much

What's the plan? I try to calorie count but struggle to stay below 1400

This was me earlier in the year! I'm 5"1 and was 11 stone 2 as well (3 pounds away from obesity). 4 months on, I'm now 9 stone 7 and only 1 lb away from being a healthy weight again (but still a little way from my target weight of 9 stone 0). It's definitely worthwhile - I can see a big difference, and my size 10 jeans fit again! I second the suggestion to get a Fitbit - really helpful for figuring out what treats I can allow myself without harming my progress and it's definitely motivated me to be more active too.

Good luck - you can do this!

How have you done it? That's great progress. I honestly don't lose a lb even if I am good for a few weeks

I’m another one of the shorty lockdown weight gain club. But to be fair I’ve crept up and crept up over the last 3 years until I’m 11.7 at 5ft2! I’ve started pilates and hiit and limiting to 1300 calories - on alcohol free challenge day 6/30 so hope that helps!
@PowerslidePanda how did you lose your weight? All tips welcome!

@nephrofox are you truly weighing portions and tracking what you eat? I found that I didn't lose a pound every week but would have suddenly lost 3lbs.

Some days I would eat on 1,000 others more like 1,400 because I only ate when hungry and it is what you eat over a period of a week or so.

If you are eating only 1200 per day and not losing you need to up your activity and down your calorie intake but also ensure it is low carb and high protein so you burn fat. This is why my fitness pal is good.

I'm 5 ft 4 too and weighed Thursday at 12 st 7lbs .. started CWP 1.1 as a kick start but won't be able to keep it up as it's too expensive , bit boring and not realistic
I'd just like to see a loss and then continue with good habits

@nephrofox and @KarrieKay - @RandomMess has already summed it up pretty well! I agree with tracking everything you eat (even a little nibble of something) and making sure it's accurate - don't just estimate. Some meals that I previously thought were healthy actually have huge numbers of calories, it turns out. Like fajitas - if I was having it for dinner, I'd usually have 3 and it turns out there's 510 calories in 3 wholemeal tortillas alone, never mind the fillings and sides!

Also to exercising when you can - and if you hate it (like I do), find something that works for you. Since lockdown started, I've been doing 30 minutes of dancing a day with my toddler to keep her active, but that burns 200 calories a time!

The only other thing I'd add is give 16:8 fasting a try (you eat during an 8 hour window and then stop for 16 hours). It's easier than it sounds - just avoid snacking after dinner and have breakfast (or brunch) mid morning instead of first thing.

Yeah I really cut down on bread - WB wheat is actually a more processed food than you realise.

One of my main brunch meals is one slice of toast, 2 poached eggs with spinach, mushrooms and tomato on the side no dressings.

Ok by 5pm I 'm starving but it's sustainable. If I want to reduce calories I miss out the toast.

Thanks yes I know you're right. It's just hard to put into practise but I really really need to. I hate getting dressed every day.

I actually know lots about calories and intermittent fasting and all sorts of nutrition things so just need to focus.

Exercises wise I try to walk a lot. I used to go to gym but obviously can't at the moment.

Today I've had 1350 cals & 12k steps

I was already overweight and lockdown has just sent me into a crazy spiral of out of control eating. Every night I go to bed determined to do better the next day and every day its all gone out the window by lunch time.
I've been resisting calorie counting, telling myself that I don't want to have an unhealthy obsession with what I eat but in truth I think I just don't want to face up to how bad the situation is.
