Morning all quick update ..... huge efforts from me have paid off, I'm now 10 stone 7 from 11 stone 4 5 weeks ago, 3 pounds more & I've lost a stone Smile

The last week I've really ramped stuff up, I'm now eating strict low carb & I'm doing the spin classes x 5 a week instead of 3/4 & I'm doing more difficult classes than I was previously. I've also bought a 10 kg & 15kg weight plate & I'm doing quick exercise rounds with them.

It may well just be water weight I've lost but hey ho, I can't remember that last time I saw 10 stone 7 on the scales Smile

@artyandtarty that’s brilliant Smile

MirandaWest · 16/07/2020 09:58

I did week 4 run 2 of c25k this morning before work. With new trainers (I discovered my current ones had holes in and I have had them for a few years so was justified in getting new ones Smile)

Feel like eating a lot of snacks but have just had a babybel that will hopefully tide me over for a while

wrensandrobins · 16/07/2020 10:22

I did 2 miles this morning before work :) got a good time so pretty pleased with myself! My body is definitely finding it easier now I have shifted a bit of weight, my chest feels less raw up the hills!

artyandtarty · 16/07/2020 10:34

@MirandaWest well done to you too Star

Running is so blughhh when starting out, you've done good girl loosing your 5kg !!!!

MirandaWest · 16/07/2020 10:46

I have done c25k a number of times - think I first did it in about 2009 and have done it nearly every year since. 2012 was my best year when I could run 5k in about 28 min but has gone a bit downhill from then on!

DH and I were intending to do 20 parkruns in 2020 but that has also gone rather wrong. My parkrun times were around 35 min which was frustrating mw.

So am hoping that I will be able to get a bit faster and maybe one day do 30 min for 5k again.

I think my body is still in shock at the reduction in sweets Blush. But at least I'm still motivated to keep going :)

MoonBaby1 · 16/07/2020 19:27

artyandtarty that is a brilliant success. Well done!!

I met with a friend and we made the difficult decision to pub or walk this evening and we walked! Feeling pleased. Im a bit miffed that the weight isn’t dropping off yet but I’m losing a little each week. Keep going shorties!!

Thank you @MoonBaby1

Although it's fab to see the drop on the scales I suspect it is water weight I've lost as I've always been prone to a little water retention

The indoor spin sessions I've been doing have been gruelling.. uphill & HIIT ... I've been doing them first thing in an empty stomach for maximum weight loss.

I guess we will see as I'm expecting to hit a plateau soon weight/scale wise ... and if I do my suspicions of it being water weight are confirmed.

I'm just going to carry on with the 45 min bike exercise & low carb as that's all I can do really. I've noticed that my legs have toned up really fast.

Keep going girls it's worth the hard work x

Normandy144 · 17/07/2020 08:26

Starting point for me was 12st 11 which was 3 weeks ago. Dropped to 12.8 after week 1 and then no loss last week due to high wine consumption at the weekend. This week however has been good even if a little exercise light. I've checked and am 12.5, just need to not blow it over the weekend before Monday's weigh in. Good work every one.

Jellybluebean · 17/07/2020 20:17

Hi Shortie's! I've been reading this thread over the last week or so and it's really helped keep me motivated so I thought I'd stop lurking and introduce myself!

I'm 5ft and a week and a half ago was 12st 7lbs which puts me in the obese category and my highest weight ever (including when I was pregnant x2)

Last Monday weigh in I was 12st 3lbs which I'm delighted with and I'm hoping to continue the downward trend! I really want to be strong and healthy again!

I'm finding drinking water in the evening rather than snacking is definately helping but really need to up my exercise. Sitting in front of a computer all day is definately not helping!

MirandaWest · 18/07/2020 06:29

Got DH to take some photos of me last night (don’t worry you are spared having to look at them Grin) but they made me feel a bit down. I think in my head I still see myself as thin but there’s the evidence - rolls of back fat and a stomach that looks pregnant.

I will go out for week 4 run 3 soon. It sounds like it’s raining so I will borrow one of DHs hats.

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 18/07/2020 09:13

11 stone 11 for me today which gives me a total loss of 1 stone in 6 weeks. Really pleased to have got to that milestone and want to continue to lose as still a long way to go - it's great being able to do this together.

Well done to everyone on their weight loss journey.

MirandaWest · 18/07/2020 09:17

Well done on your weight loss - that’s great 😀

Did my run - now doing some more marking...

beenrumbled · 18/07/2020 10:25

Brilliant weight loss!

I'm still working on my knee so can't run yet, how was your run?

How many calories does 2 hours ironing equal? Grin

Still trying to keep to sensible eating and 18:6. I definitely did not appreciate how many calories I used to burn walking to and from work 5 days a week. When I started working from home the pounds piled on.

Imissmoominmama · 18/07/2020 10:49

@hopeidontforgetthisusername- that’s brilliant! After a rubbish week last week, I’m back on it. I’m cycling to work and going for long walks in the evenings. I’ve also stopped eating crap. I did polish off a bottle of Prosecco last night though 😬. I haven’t weighed myself properly because DH changed the scales to kg- that reading gave me a shock! Grin

MirandaWest · 18/07/2020 11:16

Run was good and now I’ve finished the marking as well. Am still a bit down about the old picture of me but maybe it will become a new picture of me in the future

beenrumbled · 18/07/2020 12:03

miranda don't be hard on yourself.

I've not let anyone take any pictures of me for the same reason. I think we do need to be kind to ourselves while we make changes.

I have had to accept that at almost 5, having had 3 kids and 2 csections and being peri menopausal my body will never be the same again - it's hard.

beenrumbled · 18/07/2020 12:18

almost 50 Grin

MirandaWest · 18/07/2020 12:26

My problem is that my before picture was when the DC were 10 and 8 so I can’t blame them at all. However I do suspect I am peri menopausal plus have been on antidepressants for 18 months which I think may have affected things.

But at least I am doing something about it 😊

MirandaWest · 18/07/2020 17:59

Think I must have shifted my thoughts on what how many steps I do each day as I haven’t done that many for me today but it’s still over 12,000 Smile

KarrieKay · 19/07/2020 07:48

@MirandaWestyou are doing great! I strongly suspect my weight gain is also linked to both depression and the meds I’m on for it. I’ve decided now is time to address that too, I’m 40. I don’t want to be 50 and still hate myself!

Imissmoominmama · 19/07/2020 09:28

Oh dear- the not drinking didn’t last (but it was worth it). I’m going for a bike ride to try to burn off the extra 70 million calories I consumed in wine and tapas last night...

wrensandrobins · 19/07/2020 10:13

Girls night last night, and I was fairly good! I treated myself but I also limited the damage by avoiding the nibbles and only having the dinner! I had a fair amount of wine though! No hangover this morning which is excellent news, so back on it this morning!

Weigh day tomorrow!

MirandaWest · 19/07/2020 10:40

Sometimes I wish I did drink alcohol so I could cut down on it. But I have reduced my sweets intake a lot Grin
