I love to swim too. I'm sure stopping that 3 times a week has slowed my weightloss and I don't feel like I'm toning up like I would have. I have tried to do sit ups a few times and I'm terrible, but I'm sure that probably means i should keep trying!

You sound like you keep very active.

SconNotScone · 05/06/2020 20:53

Hope your boy is on the mend soon @GetTheStartyParted.

I have had a much better day today so far. I have an evening of watching Netflix ahead of me while my husband is on a Zoom call with his friends. Just waiting for my daughter to go to sleep (this is late for her, she is only 6, and has been struggling to settle off to sleep for the last few weeks - we have usually got her asleep by about 20:15, but tonight it’s a bit more of a battle!) I am really in a poor mindset regarding food and snacks at the moment, and quite frankly would love nothing more than to sit and have a munch on something sugary while I watch TV. But I will resist! I have managed to do a YouTube workout for 5 days in a row, which is something I guess, in amongst a load of poor food choices so far this week. Hoping to pull it together today, tomorrow and Sunday, and find that I have at least maintained come Monday.

Happy weekend everyone!

WhatALearningCurve · 05/06/2020 21:26

I am so hungry tonight. I'm blaming my period because I've not felt hunger like this since I started on the 20th April. Ive got a ton of work to do and I'm in bed doing it to stop myself going downstairs and eating half a loaf of bread. (God I miss bread).

WhatALearningCurve · 05/06/2020 21:26

(Started my diet. Not started the period!)

Smarshian · 05/06/2020 22:05

I usually find if I’ve got a massive craving then sometimes the best thing to do is have some of what you fancy.
Just a small portion, account for it in your calories and move on/ try to reduce the next day.
For those of you who have been doing this a while hoow long did i is t take for you to start noticing weight loss on your body?
I started about 11st, so not massively outside of a healthy range but wondered when I might start noticing my jeans looser etc.

recklessgran · 05/06/2020 22:48

Evening all, lovely to read about all the great losses - well done everyone. . I'm with you @SconNotScone. Reckon I've just about pulled back my misbehaviour from Tuesday so I just need to toe the line over the weekend as Monday is my weigh day too. I'll be amazed if I've lost anything. Today I had bacon and egg for lunch and tuna mayo salad for dinner followed by sugar free jelly and raspberries.
I've finally sorted out my clothes and am now wearing all my new smaller stuff and feel much better for it. I chucked some tatty things away, filled 2 bags for the air ambulance but kept a few of my nicer "fat" dresses. I've moved them into one of the spare bedrooms out of my sight until my mind catches up with the fact that I'm actually not as fat as I think I am. Tomorrow I need to sort out my bag and shoe collection and then I think I'm done for the time being. I think this is the first time in my life that I've really indulged myself and I'm quite enjoying it. It's quite a challenge to keep within a reasonable budget but there are some cracking sales and discounts about. Can't make up my mind about whether or not I'm single handedly keeping the economy afloat though. [DH jokes about this, well at least I think he's joking.........] Anyway, hope everyone is O.K. and keeping up the good work. Nothing planned here for the weekend but might drive over to have a little chat with DM who is struggling with the loneliness now.

cricketmum84 · 06/06/2020 08:19

Morning everyone, happy Saturday! Had a little sleep in yesterday and then it was lovely to be able to concentrate properly on homeschooling with littlest DD. Then I finished my Harlem Coben book with a white wine spritzer. Didn't eat during the day but had a lovely spicy bean burger in the evening.

Forgot to weigh this morning!! I feel like I've gained again so I may wait until after birthday treats now... feeling a little sad today as I was supposed to be out at a big vegan food festival and then out for cocktails with my sister.

@WhatALearningCurve I really really miss garlic bread 😍

@Onceuponatimethen and @GetTheStartyParted I'm also really missing swimming. Actually craving that feeling of getting in the water and those first few strokes. Can't wait until the pools open again! Good news about your DS @GetTheStartyParted I bet that was a worrying 24 hours waiting on those results.

@JessJonesJumps yeah a lockdown birthday should be interesting! Hopefully we will get out to see my sister and mum at lunchtime and then DH and DDs are putting together a living room picnic for me with champagne. I've requested a vegan pork pie and some Brie and chutney and a scone with clotted cream and jam but left the rest up to them :) my mum has said something is arriving for me today too! Exciting!

Good luck with the exams @StudentHelp sounds heavy going!!

Hope you are feeling better @Tryingtwo

Great loss @MonicaBingaling well done!! I think I need some of your motivation!

WhatALearningCurve · 06/06/2020 08:22

@smarshian I'm not very good with "a little bit of something" so I've started holding off on cravings then if I'm still craving it the next day then it's a legit want and I'll have it.

@recklessgran it feels so good when your clothes change doesn't it. It's like a new boost of motivation.

I'm glad I held off one eating last night because I woke up this morning and I've dropped 1.25lbs since yesterday. So 3 since Monday.

Got a zoom call with friends tonight but I've already accounted a lot of wine into my calories for the day so it shouldn't be too detrimental. I'm refusing to buy new clothes yet because I'm determined to get as close to target as possible to know what size I am. But I've got a skirt I bought back in November that was way too tight and realistically I shouldn't have bought. My friends and I have started going full hog for zoom calls - dressing up, make up / hair done etc. Just tried the skirt on thinking I might be able to wear it tonight. It's genuinely a little bit big on me!

cricketmum84 · 06/06/2020 08:36

I had the same with a gorgeous top this week @WhatALearningCurve I bought it for Spanish holiday in 2018 and it was a lovely layered chiffon/lace floaty vest top in a dusky rose colour. Too small for that holiday, tried again last summer and still way too small. Tried this week and it was like a Boy Scout tent. Gutted! It's gone in the charity bag while I try to hunt down something similar.

Onceuponatimethen · 06/06/2020 08:38

Morning everyone Smile

@recklessgran that sounds like a lovely feeling to be enjoying! I am really looking forward to getting a few new summer dresses and feeling nice in those. I bet your dm will be happy to catch up with you.

@cricketmum84 Happy Birthday Flowers it does feel really funny and sad to miss all the plans I know but I’m sure your family will still want you to feel really special today. I hop you have a lovely day and enjoy your treats.

@WhatALearningCurve so good that your skirt is now a little big! Shows the progress you’ve already made. What you’ve lost in less than a week this month sounds really good too.

cricketmum84 · 06/06/2020 08:40

Sorry my post is confusing when I read it back!

Birthday and living room picnic is tomorrow :)

Today is Mexican quorn and black beans with salad :)

Chimchimcharoo · 06/06/2020 08:45

Happy birthday @cricketmum84
Sounds like you have a nice day planned out.
My birthday has also been in these strange times and I had theatre tickets and meal out plans. Instead I sat with a glass of fizz by myself.
I had a reasonable day yesterday although did eat a fair few sweets in the evening but I tend to let myself relax on a Friday evening. Going to try a sugar pop workout this morning. Have a great day everyone.

Onceuponatimethen · 06/06/2020 08:48

@Chimchimcharoo that workout sounds great! Might take a look myself. And a few treats are definitely ok Smile

Onceuponatimethen · 06/06/2020 08:50

Just weighed and I’m suddenly down at 73.7 kg which is great but bizarre!! Expecting to go up a little with TOTM expected any day now so going to try not to be too disheartened if that happens.

Ginandtonic31 · 06/06/2020 09:00

Morning everyone.

@recklessgran I can't wait to go through my wardrobe and sort it! Right now I'm clinging onto maternity clothes! I've a pair of pre prep shorts i tried on the 1st June and took a pic. Far too small. But will try them every 1st day of the month to see progress (well I hope progress).

I also miss swimming!!

Yesterday I went over carbs slightly. Had a low carb porridge at breakfast, chicken wings and salad at lunch then lamb, swede and carrot mash and peas for tea. I also had a sugar free jelly and cream and a fibre one bar.

Weigh in today and 3lb down from my start weight on Monday. I just hope I can carry it on! 11lb off my pre prep weight then another 1.5 stone to lose.

Irishstout · 06/06/2020 09:52

Well done everyone. Its fab hearing about everyone's losses.

Yesterday turned into a proper cheat day with leaving cake and then DP arrived after work to pick me up and took me on a trip with takeaway to the beach to watch the sun set. I didnt eat all my pizza like I would normally and I did hit 12k steps so I'm hoping that it will balance out. It was a nice celebration for a big change/step up career wise and lovely of DP to sort it all so I couldn't feel too bad.

Plans for a long walk today and hopefully better on the food front.

JessJonesJumps · 06/06/2020 12:18

Irishstout that sounds like a lovely day.

Weight sts here. I am desperate to get into the 11s ... but I'm also desperate to eat some chocolate toffee ... so I'm not sure which will win Grin

Tryingtwo · 06/06/2020 12:34

Good morning all, GetTheStartyParted so glad you got the negative result back and so quickly. I hope your ds had a better nights sleep and feels better soon.
recklessgran bet you look and feel fabulous in your new clothes - well done you!
StudentHelp good luck for next week.
cricketmum84 your plans for tomorrow sound great even if not what you planned. I had planned a nice meal out for my wedding anniversary last month including dessert if I had made it into overweight range - didn't happen obviously.
Ginandtonic31 3lbs since Monday is a fab loss.
Irishstout good luck for your new job and what a lovely thing for your dp to do.
I didn't make it downstairs yesterday but seem to be better today fingers crossed. After sticking to plan for 3 days then eating a grand total of 643 cals in 2 days I have lost all May's gain and have reached June's target of 11st 10lbs! I know my weight will probably go up again in the next few days as I start eating more but what the heck I'll take it.

Onesmallstep67 · 06/06/2020 12:42

Well done everyone. Sounds like lots of you are feeling positive and seeing results.
I am half a lb up this morning but I consumed a fair bit of wine during the family quiz last night which then lead to the late night munchies. Oh dear Grin
Hoping for a good day today with some time on the exercise bike and lots of water.
Happy birthday @cricketmum84. Hope you are having a lovely day CakeFlowersWine

GetTheStartyParted · 06/06/2020 15:39

Thank you. DS is still coughing well but did sleep much better than previously.

DD and her bf have just left after a very rainy bbq. It was lovely to see her, I know she has been homesick.

Hope you all enjoy your weekend.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow @cricketmum84

recklessgran · 06/06/2020 21:43

Evening everybody. Good day food wise - egg mayo for lunch and sausages and runner beans for dinner tonight. I was a bit naughty this afternoon and pinched half a dozen dolly mixtures from DD1's sweetie stash. I haven't had them for years - gosh they were sickly.
@JessJonesJumps - don't do it! [The toffee I mean] I can't talk though after my meeting with the dolly mixtures .
@TryingTwo I'm sorry you have been so poorly but I'm really jealous of your loss - we have the same goal weight for June and I am STILL trying and failing to get into the 11's. Really pleased for you though!
@GinandTonic31 well done on your loss. That's brilliant, you're doing so well.
@Studenthelp good luck with your revision and exams - that really sounds hard especially at the moment when times are just not normal.
@IrishStout your DH sounds lovely and thoughtful - good luck with whatever you're doing next - do you have a new job?
@GetTheStartyParted I'm glad your DS is negative and hope he'll feel better soon. So worrying at the moment to have anyone poorly.
@CricketMum84 hope you have a lovely birthday tomorrow and feel spoilt - thank you for all your support - it means a lot to all of us to have the camaraderie of this lovely thread. x

Smarshian · 07/06/2020 06:32

Morning all. My first full week completed and I’m down to 10st 8lb. I can’t quite believe it, 6lb in a week. I’m sure most of it will be water weight but as long as I continue to lose this week I’ll be very happy. I’m aiming for around 9st 7lb overall so hopefully it won’t take too long to get there.
Happy birthday @cricketmum84 and good luck with the exams @StudentHelp sounds like a tough week!

Onceuponatimethen · 07/06/2020 08:05

Happy Birthday @cricketmum84Flowers Flowers
This time on the proper day!

Hope you have a great day!

Ginandtonic31 · 07/06/2020 08:06

@recklessgran I ate some chewy sweets yesterday as well so now thinking I've undone the hard work! I think also 4lbs is due to it being week 1! I'm hoping not too much damage yesterday so can keep up with 1-2lb a week. Yesterday I had protein shake and soya milk for breakfast, Brie and bacon with spinach salad at lunch and chilli with cheese for tea (slightly took me above carb allowance due to beans but thought of it as a treat meal). I also did no exercise yesterday.

Today I'm planning for a workout, probably eggs for breakfast of some kind, smoked salmon and cream cheese for lunch and steak and roast veg for tea.

SconNotScone · 07/06/2020 08:07

Morning all! Happy birthday @cricketmum84 I hope you have a really lovely day celebrating!

I think I may see a tiny downwards shift this week, but only teeny tiny. Proper weigh in tomorrow morning, will keep fingers crossed. I won’t be disappointed if I have only maintained, just don’t want a gain!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend. I’m pretty bored to be perfectly honest, although meeting a friend for a walk later with our daughters, so that will be nice!
