@cricketmum84 I hope your stomach bug has cleared up. Fingers crossed it was only a 24-hr one.
@GetTheStartyParted hurrah! You reached the 11s! Star
TOTM again here. Honestly the irregularity or over-regularity of being peri-menopausal is getting me down. I never know when it's going to be TOTM. It affects my weight, my hip, my energy levels. If there was a grumpy smiley I'd post it. Scales were jumping about today so will try again tomorrow.

GetTheStartyParted · 22/06/2020 11:09

Thanks everyone Smile

@JessJonesJumps TOTM has been the worst side effect of this diet. They are longer and can be heavier too. I hoped it would settle down but I've been keto for 21 weeks now and given up all hope! I totally agree with how much it effects, its really frustrating isn't it! I'm 34 but do have endometriosis. Fingers crossed for tomorrow for you.

Onesmallstep67 · 22/06/2020 11:17

Happy Monday everyone, some good updates this morning, lovely to see people generally sticking to things and keeping on track.
I am a lb or more up from my lowest weight mid week last week but my weekend involved alcohol, take away and a Sunday roast. ( and definitely not enough water ) So looking to eat mostly salad and veg for the next few days and drink lots of water and green tea - woohoo !
Hope you are feeling better today @cricketmum84. Stomach bugs are horrible Flowers

MonicaBingaling · 22/06/2020 12:02

@GetTheStartyParted and @JessJonesJumps this is interesting because my TOTM has been worse since this diet. The day before starting my last period I felt like i was coming down with flu, sore throat, muscle ache and fevery. The next day period started and I felt horrendous!

SconNotScone · 22/06/2020 17:13

sheepish wave I disappeared down a hole for a couple of weeks. The hole may or may not have been filled with afternoon teas, biscuits and ice cream, all of which needed eating in order to climb out!

Thankfully, the damage was fairly minimal, I’ve stayed below 10st (9st 13.5 this morning, up 1.5lb from a couple of weeks ago). I am back to it today, feeling better and more motivated!

Sorry not to comment individually, but hope everyone is doing ok, will get back into the thread this week!

cricketmum84 · 23/06/2020 08:20

Morning my lovelies. Thank you for all the well wishes. I think it's pretty much out of my system now and starting to feel a bit more normal. That was one horrible bug!!

Plan for today is lots of fruit, I have lots of cherries and had some beautiful flat peaches delivered yesterday. Lunch is a toasted wholemeal pitta with low fat hummous and dinner is bubble and squeak jacket potatoes (my attempt to get some greens down littlest DD)

Hope everyone is doing well and that naughty step is finally empty!

Glad you’re feeling better @cricketmum84

I have weighed in today at 14st4 so that’s 1 and a half pounds off this week. I’m pleased with that but there’s no way I’m hitting my June target! As long as it’s coming off I don’t mind if it’s slow.

Have a great day everyone!

recklessgran · 23/06/2020 10:26

Morning all. I'm off the naughty step and determined not to go there again. Just scraped into the 11's this morning so I'm feeling slightly encouraged and motivated again.
@cricketmum84 I'm so glad you're feeling better. Your food always sounds so interesting and makes me think I'm in a bit of a food rut!
Boiling here already so hope everyone can get out and enjoy the sunshine.

JessJonesJumps · 23/06/2020 11:49

@recklessgran I feel you are my spirit twin - I sneaked back into the 11s today too Grin But, sadly, we are not weather twins. It is raining and miserable here. I was just saying to DS if we go for a walk today we'll need anoraks and wellies. Welcome to summer in Scotland Hmm
@cricketmum84 glad you're feeling better.
@MonicaBingaling that's interesting that you're feeling worse at TOTM too. I wish someone would do substantial research on dieting and hormones. Most of the studies don't touch on it. I remember Michael Mosely being asked about it on a webchat on here and he just ignored the question.

recklessgran · 23/06/2020 12:09

Ah @JessJonesJumps so glad you made it too. I agree we do seem to be joined in our efforts although you are FAR better than I am at the exercise - one thing I do know is that I couldn't have done it without all the support and friendship from here. I do think that weight loss is a lonely and personal journey!
Sorry about your weather - I do love Scotland - it's such a beautiful country. My father was Scots and I have a cousin living in Lewis but it does seem to rain a lot there however I like the misty, damp feel when out walking. I have no hope of getting off my desk for a walk today that's for certain so I'll have to try to make wise food choices. Not sure what I'll be having yet. Will try to avoid the icecream though.

Hollyhead · 23/06/2020 13:07

Hi everyone, I think I'm almost at TOTM - just want to eat everything in sight today, but trying to keep it healthy(ish) rather than just a stream of pure carbs!

Glad you're feeling better @cricketmum84, hopefully you'll get a scales bonus for not being able to eat for a day or two!

WhatALearningCurve · 24/06/2020 07:59

Morning all

@cricketmum84 another one who's glad you're feeling better

@HundredYearOldMan @recklessgran @jessjonesjumps congrats on the losses!

@hollyhead I can't remove what diet you're following but if it's anything along calorie counting (that's what I'm doing) then I'd see if you're still craving carbs today. If you are then let yourself have them. It's not sustainable to just never have them if you want them. Just account them into today's calories and you'll be fine.

I've got something I need to shout from the rooftop.

MY WEIGHT STARTED WITH A 10 THIS MORNING.

My weight has never started with a 10. At least not since before I can remember starting to weigh myself in my early 20's. It was 10 13.5 so it could easily be a blip and go back to an 11 tomorrow but either way it feels massively motivating.

I go back to work next Friday so I'm going to have to work super hard not to start slipping. Ordered some new work clothes off ASOS last night - got a size 12 in everything. Not sure if they'll fit but I know If they don't fit now they'll fit in a few weeks.

As a side note - anyone else feel like they they spent so long buying 'anything that fitted' that now they don't know how to shop?!

HundredYearOldMan · 24/06/2020 08:18

@WhatALearningCurve that is very exciting! I know exactly how you feel about buying anything that fits, I can’t wait to buy something I really like rather than something that fits! I have been overweight my whole working life so I don’t even know what my style is because I just wear plain clothes. Usually long sleeved high necked jumpers!

Today’s menu
B - never have it
L - kind of feel like lazy carbonara...but might change it to something healthier!
D - salmon, rice and broccoli

cricketmum84 · 24/06/2020 08:49

Morning all! Looks like it's going to be a scorcher today! My little weather station (yeah I know I'm a geek) was already showing 30 degrees at 7am. Very thankful for wfh in these conditions as I can wear much less clothing lol and have the fan trained on me all day!

You are doing great @HundredYearOldMan well done on the loss :)

@recklessgran the naughty step is staying empty until June 30th 😂 re meals I'm trying lots of new recipes at the moment. Dd(11) is extremely determined to stay veggie so I treated us to a few new recipe books and trying to find out what she likes and dislikes as she's so fussy! Doesn't help that she loves potatoes, pasta and rice so my carb intake has definitely increased unless I fancy making 3 different meals every night! Huge well done to both you and @JessJonesJumps for getting into the 11s!

@Hollyhead silly me forgot to weigh this morning but yes fingers crossed for a little bonus push tomorrow! My weight has been so up and down this month, there's been no logic to it at all!

@WhatALearningCurve amazing!!! Congratulations :) yeah I'm a bit rubbish at shopping at the moment. It's hard on sizing when you can't try things on!

Plan for today is lots of fruit and water during the day for hydration. Probably some kind of salad for dinner with the heat here! Thinking either shopska style with fresh parsley or a quinoa salad with avo, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, spring onion, fresh mint, chilli and lime. Mmm I think writing that out just made my decision for me 😂

Hope everyone has a lovely sunny day!

Morning all. Staying on the wagon here and weight staying in the 11's [just].
Congratulations on the 10's @WhatALearningCurve you must feel GREAT. I completely understand what you mean about clothes buying. I've spent lockdown buying a whole new wardrobe online [on a budget]. I decided in the beginning that I would only keep the things I loved - there would no "that'll do" about it. I'm amazed that these new clothes make me look slim [ish] and "shapely" [rare compliment from DH who is rubbish in that department and takes a week to notice that I've been to the hairdressers!] The main thing I've noticed is that I've now got a much brighter wardrobe colourwise and the clothes I've kept are fitted and more feminine rather than loose, stretchy and comfy. It's taken my head a while to catch up with the mirror if you know what I mean. [Sometimes I'm still seeing a chubster!] I'm sure your 12's will be fine. I've bought all 14's and actually a lot of them are on the big side and I'm a stone heavier than you.
It's hot and sunny here again so going to try to get out in the garden as this lovely sunshine is only here until Friday when apparently we are getting thunderstorms. Foodwise, OMAD today and lots of water. It will be salad of some sort this evening.
Have a good day all.

MonicaBingaling · 24/06/2020 10:19

Big congrats @WhatALearningCurve that’s amazing well done!! Have fun shopping for your new wardrobe 😍😍😍

SconNotScone · 24/06/2020 10:29

Congratulations @WhatALearningCurve, that is amazing! And even if it is just a blip, it will only be a blip for a very short while, and soon you will be consistently into the 10s!!

I have been ordering shorts recently, which is usually a big no-no for me and I find the whole thing very traumatic! But have actually managed to buy a few pairs online which fit, AND look nice!

WhatALearningCurve · 24/06/2020 10:45

Thank you everyone!

@sconnotscone had to reread your message twice because at first I thought you said you'd been ordering shots 😂 this daytime drinking weather is clearly getting to my head

(disclaimer: I've obviously not started drinking already today but if lockdown had happened in a past child free life I'd probably have an ice cold midday glass of wine.......)

JessJonesJumps · 24/06/2020 17:51

@WhatALearningCurve congratulations on getting into the 10s - that's fab! Star and a teeny, tiny daytime drink for you Gin Wink
I'm managing to cling on to the 11s by my fingertips ...it's fair to say I will not be meeting my target for this month.

NerrSnerr · 25/06/2020 07:30

Hi all. Sorry I have been AWOL for most of the month. Too much chocolate and pasta have been consumed but I'm back on it. I started the month on 12st6 and am now 12st3 so at least I'm down and have some time to get that a bit closer to 7lbs.

About to sort the school run but will catch up with everyone's posts with a cup of coffee later.

recklessgran · 25/06/2020 09:17

Welcome back @NerSnerr! I wish I'd known you were misbehaving as you could have joined me on the naughty step where I've been most of this month with my pile of toast and marmite, the biscuit tin and the sweetie jar. One or two others have sat with me briefly but they soon got bored and got back on the wagon. I think 3 lbs is great - I'll be lucky to have managed a pound this month. I'm with @JessJonesJumps just about holding on in the 11's by a quarter of a pound. Oh well, a pound is a pound and I feel better about it by visualising 2 packs of butter.
Have a good day all.

NerrSnerr · 25/06/2020 09:56

Thanks @recklessgran. I hope to join you scraping into the 11s soon.

I put on about a stone since March and now I don't have many clothes that fit so I'm desperate to get that stone back off and then I can work on the rest.

cricketmum84 · 25/06/2020 10:14

So I weighed and I'm a pound above June starting weight. How??? I am so so annoyed as I've been eating well, had 2 days of sipping water and vomiting and couldn't even face eating last night because I was too hot.

Might have to join the naughty step in retaliation against my stupid fat body.

OMAD today. Pea and mint risotto with a side of asparagus and broccoli.

Onesmallstep67 · 25/06/2020 12:35

I feel your pain @cricketmum84, I haven't been eating loads, drinking quite a lot of water and resolutely stuck on the same weight. Still 4 lbs down so far for the month but it would be nice to see another 2 go this week, fingers crossed

JessJonesJumps · 25/06/2020 13:07

@cricketmum84 I feel your pain. I suddenly shot up 2lbs this morning even though since Monday, I've been walking a couple of miles every day and doing OMAD. I've no idea what is going on this month.
