RedScarf · 11/05/2020 08:42

So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

Ohhh me too with the hip dips @InTheNorth123! I hate them. Even when I’m really skinny they’re still there. It’s so annoying. I’m getting married in a fitted, crepe wedding dress this year and I’m actually wondering if the seamstress could do something under the dress to smooth them out because I know I’ll be conscious of them all day Blush

Ten is a good goal weight first and foremost I think.

@lifesbetteraftertea that's brilliant, well done you.
I weighed today, have lost half a pound in the week. I had way too many temptations at the weekend which I did not resist, but I've done my big food shop now and have meal planned for this week so hopefully wont make the same mistake again.

Well done on everyone's losses!

So this weekend has been a mess, lost 1lb but I know it was way more than than when I had a cheeky weigh in on Thursday so that sucks a bit.

Doing my first bit of freelance work this week so least I'm guaranteed to get out my pajamas! Grin I've been a right skank Confused

7 off for me today - which is a classic week 1 type loss for me, next week will probably be a lot less. I gained 12lb during lockdown, but the rest was there before.

Well done everyone. I need to make sure I stay on track now, I can usually manage one magic week then I fall off the bandwagon.

Can I join you? After weeks of pretending to myself that stuffing my face for the whole of lockdown was OK because I was exercising a bit, breastfeeding (DD 18 months so not getting a huge amount of calories from me) and my size 12 clothes still fit, just getting a bit tight... I finally faced the scales today and I weigh 78,9 kg Shock (sorry, I'm British but have lived abroad for a long time and I've forgotten how stones work), which puts me in the obese BMI category. It's a real wake-up call. I have lost 16kg before, years ago, and so I know what I need to do, just got to be strict with myself. Being at home all day is so tempting - I never snack in the office! For the moment I'll be happy getting down to 70. Hopefully in a week's time I'll have something positive to add to the thread!

Well done to everyone who's lost so far!

How did the screen free day go @RedScarf? Worth repeating the experiment?!

morning everyone.

When I first posted last week I was 15st 2lbs. That had fluctuated all week, upto 15st 4lbs, back down to 15st 3lbs. Yesterday and today it has been 15st 1lbs.

1 more lb and ive lost a stone 😁😁😁

I've had a rubbish few days, the weather hasn't been great so I've not done much walking, I have drank alot of water though instead of snacking (its a good job im not on a water meter 🤣)

Hope everyone has a good day. 😀

Weigh in day and I've only lost 1lb. Bit despondent as I really increased my exercise and logged all my calories of MFP. Apparently my body doesn't agree with MFP that I should have lost at least 2lbs this week. Will persevere though as going back to my old ways isn't an option. And i have already lost 8lbs which I won't lose sight of.

I've only lost 1lb

I googled a picture of what 1lb of fat looks like and just keep looking at that whenever I think "But Ive only lost 1lb"

Also with increased exercise I will be putting on muscle 😁 loads and loads of muscle each week 😂 so 1lb lost could be 2lbs of fat lost and 1lb of muscle gained 😁 works for me

I'll join on here. I'm on a few threads. I lost 6st 2 years ago. I reached 10st I'm 5'8. Unfortunately with work/life over the last year I've gained 3st back. None of my clothes fit. I'm doing 1200 cals a day and walking. My aim is to fit into 28 waist Levi's.

Hi All,
I lost a pound in my first week up to Monday, had had a rubbish weekend though with far too many treats in the evening.
From Monday morning I've been really good, I check my weight every morning and I was down a pound yday morning and another pound this morning, so that's giving me encouragement to keep being good and hopefully have a bigger loss for this week.

Report
RedScarf · 20/05/2020 14:50

Ok. So I tried to put on a pair of work trousers yday and actually couldn't breathe and when I got back and took them off I could see every stitch of the waistband imprinted on my belly.

@RubySlippers77 the screen free day is a ploy to make us feel like shit mums! I can do a whole morning or a whole afternoon but not both... I saw a thing saying something along the lines of "if you are finding it tough atm...it's coz it bloody is tough atm and nothing to do with your parenting" which made me feel better!

Can anyone recommend a watch/app they use for tracking steps?
I got a new watch but then realised it counts steps by when the arms swing, but my arms dont swing when walking with the buggy Confused

I remember my old doctor saying small steps, aim for 1/2 a stone at a time, wouldn't mind but that was in the late 1980s, I was probably only about 10 stone! I blame my fella, I say it's your fault I'm fat 😂

@Dk20 depending how much you want to spend I got a Garmin Venu last month and love it but it’s pricey. Apparently the Garmin Vivoactive 3 is really really good too though and cheaper.

Evening all, good day calorie wise for me and managed a short walk. Was feeling a bit demotivated there because I had a sneaky weigh in (even though I keep saying I'll only do it once a week) and i was up on my Monday weight Hmm HOWEVER for fresh motivation I joked out 3 pairs of good jeans (only buy jeggings these days because of my size) all three pull up over my thighs then don't stand a chance over my belly so I'm going to try and not focus so much on the scales and try those on every cpl weeks till I get back into them!

@lifesbetteraftertea keep it up. You can do it. Those jeans will soon be fitting. I was going to weigh the other day but decided not to, incase it demotivated me.

Ok so I haven't been as good as I should have been this week but I'm over it now and feeling motivated again.

I kept thinking I should be kind to myself and allow some treats during this shit show...but it's actually kinder to myself to stay on track and get healthier sooner so I can walk up the stairs without losing my breath or run about and join in and not watch from the sidelines because I'm unfit and wobble everywhere. My boobs on the trampoline are dangerous. It's now just a very large seat in the garden..

@Dk20 I have this fitness tracker - but it doesn't count when I push the buggy (used to have a Fitbit and that didn't either!) - I just take it off and put it in my trouser pocket where it does count.

I wondered if screen free days were just a myth @RedScarf Grin I took the DC for a walk first thing this morning to keep them out of the sun later on, they then moaned constantly when we got home and just wanted to play on their tablets... sigh. I get my own back by only letting them have educational apps on there

Made these brownies earlier as a sweet treat - they are very nice - MIL is doing bits of shopping for us and keeps popping chocolate bars in there, I need something to resist them! She means well (and is a very kind lady) but it doesn't help my weight loss resolution...

Oh blimey, I would never risk the trampoline without my sports bra on!! I look like one of the 'well proportioned' ladies in a Beryl Cook picture at the moment Confused
