So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

I'm feeling very energetic but have to stay in for a delivery, will try and do 2 bike rides today, one with kids and one on my own when they are in bed.

Have told them no screens today which I'm already regretting!

Hi all, catching up on the last few days.
Was working Tuesday to Friday and only managed a walk on Tuesday, by the time the evening comes around i have been too exhausted to walk, I'm struggling to do anything after 6pm - wondering if I should start taking vitamins again?
Will get out today and tomorrow for a long walk though with plenty of hills to walk up (and will be pushing the buggy).
Will be going shopping tomorrow so going to go through the SW app today and find dinner recipes and make sure I'm stocked up for the week with plenty of options.

@RedScarf I am in a similar situation with the screens - had to take drastic measures with ds(6) yday, I was trying to WFH, the baby was in bed having a nap and DS was just being awful and shouting. In the evening I took all his screens off him. Luckily today hes gone to work with his dad (they are just making stuff in a yard close to home and will be the only 2 there)

Morning all. I started Level 2 of 30 Day Shred yesterday and it was a big step up from Level 1! I then did some Zumba Slimdown Party which actually put a smile on my face. Despite sticking to a net of 1200 calls per day, the scales aren't budging much at all. It's frustrating but I am determined not to just give up as with previous attempts. Really thought I would have lost more by now.

We should have been on holiday in Greece now so we are having Greek Day at home! Going to eat Greek food and watch Mamma Mia!

GreenTeaMug · 16/05/2020 09:22

Can i join too? i am just about to join slimming world online.

Also 3.5 stone to lose!

I am 13.7 stone. Actually I'd be happy with 3 stone.

I am feeling inspired!

Greek yogurt, half a banana and some nuts for breakfast.

Dk20 · 16/05/2020 09:34

@greenteamug
I'm also doing SW online - rejoined last week.
I've just looked through all the recipes on the app and chose dinners for the week, there is so much choice!
Also love the new app for keeping tracking of what I've eaten throughout the day.
Good luck Smile

A late joiner here, I've been doing mfp for about 2 weeks, weighed myself last week and have 3.5 stone to lose.

Im doing over 10,000 steps a day over hills and have lost 1 inch on my bum and on my waist since last week so that's excellent.

I need to do more exercise in addition to the steps. MFP is adding approx 200 calories to my 1200 a day, I'm going to start deleting these as I'm managing 1400 quite easily and I think need to tighten up a bit.

I've stopped my massive addiction to chocolate, crisps and biscuits. I could quite happily scoff 3 bags of crisps and a big bar of chocolate in the evening but now enjoy savouring just 1 or 2 small cubes of the chocolate far more than I enjoyed the whole bar.

I need to buy some scales as I weighed myself whilst at my mums, going to have a google of the smart scales....

Justabadwife · 16/05/2020 13:10

I've been up since 5.30am, I have little to no motivation and I've had a bottle of coke this morning. (I did add it to my meals though)

Dk20 · 16/05/2020 14:43

I got out for a 50 minute walk with plenty of hill parts while pushing the 11month old in the buggy. Now I can think about what in going to have for dinner.

NotPawPatrolAgain · 16/05/2020 15:22

I want to join but I have joined so many threads and failed, so not sure it is worth it. The title of this thread called out to me as also have 3.5 stone to lose. I have pcos so sticking to a low sugar diet works for me but I'm finding it hard with lockdown. My tummy is getting bigger and bigger, it's where I hold most of my weight. I actually look pregnant. It's not good. Are you tending to check in daily?

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 16/05/2020 15:41

Good day thus far. I've done a heavy back/biceps workout. Workouts always suppress my appetite and make it much easier for me to manage my eating during the day.

It's 11 weeks exactly until show day; it may not happen this year due to the current situation but I'm working on the basis that it will in order to say in shape.

Current weight is 56.5kg; stage weight probably nearer 52kg. I'm getting there one day, and one workout, at a time Smile

lifesbetteraftertea · 16/05/2020 20:51

Evening all, doing my best today but have always struggled on the weekends... but 4 mile walk done whilst pushing buggy which bought me more calories and I'm going to enjoy them tonight. Depriving myself too much just ends in disaster.

Can I ask you all WHY you want to lose this weight? Might offer some inspiration to us all. For me it's mainly to be healthier and less self conscious / feel confident in my own skin.

Moonlite · 16/05/2020 21:27

Just checking in for the first time! I've been doing really well food wise but wine & beer in the evening is my downfall Hmm however managed 10,200 steps today and 1/2 hour on my exercise bike, so far I've eaten 908 calories and currently drinking red wine though lol.

I want to lose weight to fit into my size 10 clothes again without having a muffin top and I am so self conscious of my arms so almost always wear a cardigan. I've always been a size 8-10 and now nothing at all fits! I'm small framed with a short neck so I dont carry weight well at all!

Givemestrengthorgin · 16/05/2020 21:31

I've done really well this week with hitting my calorie goals on MFP and exercise every day. And then Saturday night came and, on top of my dinner, I've had a cheese board, millionaire shortbread, gin and crisps! But using MFP is helping me to stop being all or nothing like I usually am. I can look back on my week and see that I have a decent window of calories left and haven't undone all my hard work.

I want to lose weight to look better and be able to wear nicer clothes, to be healthy so that I hopefully live as long as possible and because I love feeling fit. I like running and want to be able to get better and better at it.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 16/05/2020 21:43

Can I ask you all WHY you want to lose this weight?

Because I'm on stage in a (very unforgiving) sparkly bikini in August (situation permitting) Shock

RubySlippers77 · 17/05/2020 00:00

I wish my DC were little enough to go in a buggy again, I actually had reasonably toned arms at that point!! They would only nap in their buggy so I used to push the (double!) buggy for miles. Now they're too old for a buggy but not big enough to walk for a long way; it's fine when we can cut back home/ to the car easily at any point, but not if we set off on a big hike and can't get back quickly.

I keep thinking about trying a no screens day for them @RedScarf but sometimes I need to bribe them with a bit of Peppa in order for me to get the cooking/ washing/ tidying done!

Thanks for the WW advice @Zazu44, I did like the app more than the SW one (although not keen on Connect) and whilst I preferred the SW diet, WW seemed to have better online facilities. I've heard that one of the new WW plans is similar to SW anyway? I wouldn't have the opportunity to go to meetings regardless, therefore it makes sense for me to join the one that has the better website/ app (unless it's £££ more!)

I want to lose the weight because I'm finding now that the extra lb's are doing me no favours at all - I get quite breathless even going upstairs, my knees are bad, hardly any of my clothes fit. And I used to be so slim and fit pre-DC Sad @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace I am in awe of your bikini-wearing, I cannot imagine me ever wanting to do that Shock good on you!!

InTheNorth123 · 17/05/2020 01:30

Hello, I've also got 3- 3.5 stone to lose. I'm 5ft7 and weigh 13st7. I have been using MFP for the past couple of days and I'm shocked at how quickly the calories add up. I'm aiming to stick to 1200 calories a day.

PenfoldsFive · 17/05/2020 07:49

Argh, too scared to get on the scales today. Been running very diligently but eating everything I can get my hands on.

lifesbetteraftertea · 17/05/2020 15:53

Well I definitely went over on calories a bit last night through alcohol and crisps... but I'm aiming for 1200 a day, my exercise yesterday amounted to about 350 and I think I consumed about 1800 so not too bad. Considering before I started this I could come close to 1800 in an evening meal Blush

lovinglavidaloca · 17/05/2020 15:55

@InTheNorth123 what’s your goal weight going to be do you think? We’re the same height. I honestly feel that even when I’ve been 9 stone I’ve not been happy. Two stone to go to get there anyway so plenty of time to worry about that!

Lalotai47 · 17/05/2020 16:22

Scales finally moved down this morning despite last night's wine binge. I am 5 ft8 and am now 13 stone 5.5 having got down from 13 stone 13 since 20th April. Progress is much slower than last time I did this 3 years ago. Back then I was losing 3-4 lbs per week. Surely my metabolism hasn't slowed that much?! Anyway, am just going to keep going with the shredding and calorie counting.

Dk20 · 17/05/2020 16:28

Having a good day so far today, had a plain omelette for breakfast, jacket potato with beans for lunch. Got out for a 5k walk while pushing the buggy and found the hills much easier to manage today.
Have a SW dinner cooking now, colcannon cakes with lean bacon - it's a new recipe in trying for the colcannon cakes and they look and smell great so far.
Tomorrow is weigh in day, I think I've lost a pound this week.

Givemestrengthorgin · 17/05/2020 17:27

I'm having a much better day today too. Honemade smoothie with carrot, spinach, banana and berries before a 6k run, scrambled egg and one slice of toast for lunch and then lasagne for dinner but only half my normal portion size and filled the rest of my plate with salad. Would usually have a big dollop of homemade mayo with my salad but managed to resist making it.

InTheNorth123 · 17/05/2020 17:30

@lovinglavidaloca I want to get to 10st first then I'll re-assess I think. I have a really weird body shape so I've never been happy even when I was a 10/12. I carry a lot of my weight on my hips and I also have obvious hip dips so it's not a great combination Sad

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 17/05/2020 18:04

Good day again today. I weighed in at 55.4kg this morning, so getting nearer to stage weight Halo

I did a chest/triceps/shoulders routine earlier, so yeah ..... good day Smile

Keep going. We all get there in the end.

Mcmole · 17/05/2020 18:13

Hi guys, can I join you? I've got a good 3st to lose, probably more tbh but I'll start there. Piled it on when I stopped breastfeeding a few years ago but kept eating as if I was still feeding a baby all day and night!

I'm also worse when I'm working in the office as I eat out of stress/anxiety, so I think being at home right now is doing me a lot of good in that respect. I've really cut back on snacking between meals since the lockdown started.

I fear I'm peri-menopausal which will also make the weight harder to shift, and it also feels like most of it is around my horrible flabby belly.

Exercise-wise I'm going out for a walk every day, dancing on the wii with DD, and doing a few wii fitness activities (EA active mainly). But I feel like I need to ramp up the exercise, but not sure where to start. I am so, so unfit in the sense that my muscles are weak and crap (I'm better with cardio) and all the fitness videos I've seen feel too advanced! I can't do a push up or a sit up or a plank....I am quite embarrassed by my awfulness at this! If anyone has any good ideas of where to start I would be really grateful.
