So today is day 1, I've just taken my before pictures had a little cry and weighed myself.

I've got 3.5 stone to lose and then some more that I'll assess when I get there.
Because I WILL get there!

Starting off with calorie counting, no choc/crisps and either a bike ride or c25k every evening after dc2 goes to sleep. And will tweak as necessary as I go.

I'm planning on posting here A LOT as dh is less than helpful and tbh is he's annoying me during lock down so I'll probably moan about him here too!

Feel free to join in, share tips, try stay sane and on track. Halo

Another one that would like to join- have three and a half(4) stone I would love to lose. I will be over the moon at 3.
Two weeks in and doing mfp and couch to 5km (week 5)
Hoping to get support and give encougment to us.... You are pushing me to go a walk now with all your outdoors activities today.... It's cold and rainy here. (North east Scotland)

Spongeface · 14/05/2020 14:13

My dream is to get my 'thin clothes' out again (including pjs- loose comfy PJ's that I am too fat for) and wear them again.... I have one pair of dream shorts that I was last in 8 years ago..... Sigh.
Chicken fajitas tonight with no wraps

Justabadwife · 14/05/2020 14:19

@spongeface I gave all my 'thin clothes' to charity, except one pair of fcuk jeans that i bought 8 years ago and still have the tags on.
Apparently they are a 14, I think they are having a laugh and are a size 10.
Enjoy your wrappless fajitas :)

shellby28 · 14/05/2020 14:47

Can I join too please?

I've got 3.5ish stone to lose as well, all pregnancy weight as I ate like a horse the whole way through. DD is 8 weeks (almost) so ready to firmly shove a boot up my behind and get shifting the weight.

Well done everyone and good luck!

RedScarf · 14/05/2020 15:48

I put on 4 stone when I had ds..he's 10 now... I did manage to lost about 2 stone before having dd but then that went back on too!

I couldn't even manage to lose weight for my wedding- turns out I'm a stress eater, a emotional eater, bored eater, greedy eater...sure there's a few more I could put in there as well.

This time feels different though, I can't put my finger on it but I really think I might get somewhere this time. I think starting this and seeing so many with a similar amount to lose is helpful ... I hope it comes off as quick as some of you as theres incredible losses so well done.

I've got mfp set to 1200 cals, aim to do 10k steps, try to eat in 11-8 window, 10 floors on the Fitbit, 2l of water and either a bike ride or a walk a day with the dc.

It's all written on a whiteboard on my fridge and I tick each one off each day, it helps as dh and ds check it in evening to see how I'm doing (they don't they couldn't care less but I still feel like I've something to prove with it being there!)

I've now written an essay sorry Grin

Ah I’m a terrible yo yo dieter. I need to get the weight off and stick with it this time. Or I’ll hit 40 still feeling fat and bleurgh. I’m also actively avoiding alcohol in the week now, it was just too easy to have a drink every night in recent weeks. I haven’t had a drink since Sunday afternoon and there’s a bottle of Prosecco with my name on it for tomorrow evening!

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 14/05/2020 17:31

Good day today. I'm on one of my twice weekly low(ish) carb days. I hit the carbs a little bit hard yesterday and didn't feel all that good for it.

I did a brutal chest, triceps and shoulders workout earlier. I'm feeling pretty good today Smile

I'm enjoying reading all the posts. Keep up the good work, everyone.

PenfoldsFive · 14/05/2020 18:39

Can I join in please? I need to lose 5 stone according to the BMI thing, but I think 3 stone has a better ring to it.

I've lost 11lb since lockdown started. Trying to eat less than my usual nightmare diet, and am running pretty much every day.

lifesbetteraftertea · 14/05/2020 19:11

@RedScarf perhaps it feels different this time because you're just doing it for you to make yourself feel better? That's how I'm feeling. Always stressing to lose weight for an occasion and failing miserably whereas this time I just feel like I want to do it for me to feel healthier!

Good day here for me, 1200 cals although no exercise going to be possible today but heyho.

Love reading everyone's updates

RedScarf · 14/05/2020 19:35

I never thought of it like that but you are right Thanks

I didn't manage to do a bike ride today or a big walk but I did move around my furniture 3 times before deciding to keep it how it was so I'm not feeling bad, just annoyed I wasted an afternoon.

I can't stop thinking about chicken fajitas now, what's weird is I want the filling..on a salad!! What's wrong with me?! That just shows how much my mind has done a 180!

Cornishbelle · 14/05/2020 20:20

Please can I join? @RedScarf I'm pretty much in an identical boat to you approx 4 stone to lose and that plan sounds fantastic I may have to steal the idea of the chart on the fridge! 1200 cals is an ideal limit for me but I really struggle just greedy! Any tips welcome good luck everyone

RedScarf · 14/05/2020 21:02

I've found trying to drink the 2 litres (can be anything not just water) definitely makes a difference to my calories, I'm not anywhere near as hungry or have slip ups so might be worth a try

RubySlippers77 · 15/05/2020 00:00

@RedScarf I am loving the chart on the fridge idea Grin

I would love to join, just over 3st to lose. In fact 1st to lose just to get to 'overweight' rather than 'obese', depressingly Sad. Still haven't worked out how to get there as I have zero energy or willpower at the moment but am aiming to find some... my DTs are 4 now and I'd love to have more 'get up and go' to have fun with them when they're not trying to kill each other

@Zazu44 how are you finding WW? I was tempted to join as they have some great special offers on, but it won't let you see any plan details before you hand over some money, annoyingly - I'd like to see the new plans as it's all changed since I last did it!

Zazu44 · 15/05/2020 00:45

I really love it Rubyslippers really just healthy eating. I'm doing it just online and it's a fantastic app.

Justabadwife · 15/05/2020 07:24

morning everyone.

I found some motivation this morning and went for a quick 30 minute walk before breakfast.

Does anyone have smart scales? I've had digital scales before but they were always set wrong. At the moment I've got analog scales, but they are a nightmare to read because the dial is soo small. So I thought I might treat myself if they are any good :)

lifesbetteraftertea · 15/05/2020 08:10

Morning all

@Justabadwife well done for getting up early and doing a walk! Day off work for me now so will have to try and shake the weekend feeling that encourages me to eat all the junk! Going to try to save calories up for some evening treats to try stay on track.

RedScarf · 15/05/2020 08:42

I now want smart scales after googling them..

Givemestrengthorgin · 15/05/2020 08:47

Morning. Sounds like everyone is doing great! This is my first week using MFP and loving it. Been a bit of an eye opener about how easily the calories mount up and I'm definitely keeping more of a handle of that by logging them. Weighed myself this morning and I've only lost 4 ounces which is a bit of a bummer but will persevere as I'm definitely not eating more than I should and I've been doing running or a Les Mills class every day.

gggrrrargh · 15/05/2020 08:54

Morning!

I would like to join too please. I’m trying not to think about how much I’ve got to lose overall, I’ve got 2.2lb to get under the stone so that’s my mission for moment, and if I do that then I’ll reset to another smaller goal.

I’ve got new scales this week, I think they are smart ones? It links to an app and tells me my fat percentage etc. Hoping that’s further motivation to see any numbers go down. They weren’t expensive so would recommend.

TinkerPony · 15/05/2020 09:05

MFP have lots of bad reviews lately what another good alternative app to this?

RedScarf · 15/05/2020 09:40

Why what's wrong with mfp?

OP posts:
gggrrrargh · 15/05/2020 09:47

@TinkerPony yes mfp seems like it always was?

lovinglavidaloca · 15/05/2020 10:26

I love Nutracheck but I pay for it. Totally worth it though IMO.

3rdNamechange · 15/05/2020 10:28

Probably 2 to lose here. Also blurghh.
Been working all along (NHS) but been VERY lazy on days off.
No motivation and knackered.
Hope this thread will be a kick up the bum.
