Morning all! It's Day 4 of May (and what feels like day eleventy billion of lockdown). Feeling a bit flat today, miss my mum, miss being able to go shopping and sick of feeling constantly anxious!

Fruit and veg delivery coming today which should cheer me up. It's a surprise box so apart from the usual potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and tomatoes I don't know what else is in there.

Also have a naughty treat planned in the form of contact free mr whippy delivery to be shared amongst the four of us. The kids don't know about it yet :)

Plan for today is to snack on fruit during the day, ice cream treat later and then 2 LM sausages with a swede bubble and squeak cake for dinner!

Great loss @recklessgran!! For the water have you tried using a brita jug? I don't like the taste of the tap water here so always use my jug and end up drinking more at home.

Welcome @SneakersandSocks and @Darbs76 :)

Hi everyone, there will be lots of you who have joined since I sloped off to consume copious amounts of sugar and alcohol during lockdown. I have been ridiculously stupid with my eating and drinking and as a consequence I have put back on more than a stone of what I had lost.
I can clearly see that for me food is like an addiction and as soon as I fell off the wagon I reverted to very unhealthy eating habits.
I had a tough day yesterday trying on clothes that I had bought when I was at my lightest that now no longer fit. So I am back and want to rejoin the thread for motivation and accountability.
I had 2 meals yesterday and no alcohol. I am 1lb down this morning and I definitely want to shift 7lbs before the end of May. I will post my weight when I feel a bit braver.
Well done to everyone who has been sticking at it during lockdown. Star

ploughingthrough · 04/05/2020 12:48

Onesmallstep67 it's great to have you back. Don't beat yourself up lockdown has been tough - you've got this for May!

Virago1 · 04/05/2020 13:00

Hi all, do you mind if I join?

I had such a good start to the year, only to end up pretty much where I started thanks to lockdown. I'm so annoyed with myself because it feels like I've wasted those four months.

I've realised I need some form of accountability otherwise I just keep promising myself I'll start tomorrow!

SW: 12 st
GW: 10st 5
Goal for 31st: 11st 7

The plan is to stay pretty low carb, portion control, and restrict wine to a couple of nights a week.

Good luck everyone! Smile

Losingitihope · 04/05/2020 13:08

I’ll join in. Hoping it will give me some accountability!
Start weight -11st5 post pregnancy
Current weight - 10st8.4
Target -9st 7

Trying to improve my gut health as well as losing weight. Cutting sugar is going to be my biggest challenge. Trying to low carb and will start calorie counting too.

@cricketmum84 your veg box always looks amazing! Enjoy your Mr Whippy, I bet the kids will be thrilled.

SneakersandSocks · 04/05/2020 16:50

Thank you for the warm welcome @cricketmum84

I hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine today.

I’m finding it motivates me to write down what I eat each day. I started jotting down on my phone a couple of weeks ago and even though I knew I was overeating, it shocked me just how many ‘snacks’ I was eating, especially sugary ones. I generally eat quite healthy meals but I’ve been eating most days 2 slices of banana bread / brownies plus lots of biscuits at night.

Today’s menu....

B - 2 weetibixs with oat milk and banana
L - Small Baked potato with tuna salad
T - will be veggie curry with brown rice

Snacks - an apple

Drinking lots of water in between and had a green tea.

Went for a 45 min walk with my dc in the carrier this morning.
15 mins of weights.
Will do another 15 mins worth of exercise this eve.

ishouldtryabiteachday · 04/05/2020 17:56

What is your go to snack if desperate? I just had a banana then a handful of raisins because I was craving a biscuit. So I'm fully sugared up now.

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 04/05/2020 18:24

My go to snack is a cracker or a clementine or a apple. Also t mini breadsticks and carrot batona are a favourite of mine also. Hope that helps. What's everyone else's?

SconNotScone · 04/05/2020 19:49

Ok, I’m veeeeerry quietly creeping in here, having been absent for the whole of April, and obviously the beginning of May as well!!

I had a period of almost a month between weighing, as I was originally using scales at work every Friday, and had none at home. I’ve not been at work since the end of March (furloughed) and finally got round to buying some scales towards the end of April! Rather miraculously (or my new scales are completely off), I had lost a little bit during the 4 weeks I’d already had at home by that stage.

My original goal weight was 10st, I’m not 10st 3. Really I would like to be 9st 12, so that’s 5lb to go. I feel like if I put some work in, I’ll be able to do it this month, but I am struggling to keep on top of the snacking and grazing. If I get to 10st this month I’ll be happy to be honest. But when I finally get to 9st 12, that will be a 2 stone weight loss since beginning of the year.

I really hope everyone is doing ok. This is such a bizarre time. I haven’t read back over the threads, fingers crossed all have been well and are being kind to themselves!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 04/05/2020 20:24

Evening All,

@cricketmum84 That veg box looks fab!

I'm feeling ever so slightly more in control the last couple of days but still not expecting a loss on Weds.

B- weetabix - 198kcals
L- Mexican steak salad wrap - 492kcals
D- chicken & bacon carbonara - 398kcals

I've also walked 10k today earning 700kcals.

howsoonisnow85 · 04/05/2020 20:32

Im desperately trying to resist a piece of toast! Help!!

Hurtsrighthere · 04/05/2020 21:48

Well I haven't had the best day, I skipped insanity and had the first take away I've had in over 5 weeks. But it's a smell set back and tomorrow is a new day. I do hope I lose weight soon though, I've been eating very sensibly, exercising a lot more and drinking more water and the scales seem to be stuck...

PlanetSlattern · 04/05/2020 21:49

Sorry I'm late @howsoonisnow85! Did you manage to resist? I know such a time will befall me very soon so maybe keep an album of inspiring pics on your phone... pics from when you last felt great, clothes you want to fit into?...

I think the only reason I haven't felt like that myself yet is because I'm easing myself in... just trying to eat healthily (as I consider it, I know everyone's perspectives differ depending on what plan you're following) but eating quite a bit. A LOT, compared with some of you, which makes me think it's hardly surprising I've been struggling to lose weight. 😬

Today:

  • Bircher muesli with pomegranate seeds and pistachios
  • Roasted cauliflower with feta and butter beans
  • x4 oatcakes with houmous
  • Colcannon (new potatoes, cabbage and bacon with a soft-boiled egg)
  • x1 G&T
howsoonisnow85 · 04/05/2020 22:04

@PlanetSlattern Yes! I had a satsuma instead! Your daily menu sounds delicious! Smile

Tryingtwo · 04/05/2020 22:04

Hi all, my earlier post didn't Smile. I've eaten way too many snacks since Friday lunchtime, today has been better but still over my allowance. I got up late this morning and the scales were kind but I'll weigh at my usual time tomorrow and have breakfast properly - the last few days I have missed breakfast and had extra at lunch because I was hungry and had all those 210 breakfast cals to use up which has lead to picking at snacky things throughout the afternoon and evening. Tuesday I will get back on track!

WhatALearningCurve · 04/05/2020 22:24

Good evening!

I was on this post back in January and was super motivated for all of about 3 weeks and then life got in the way ha. Trying to make the most of lockdown to get myself into some new habits.

I'm calorie counting using My Fitness Pal - 1200 a day limit which I can stick too quite well as long as I plan.

My biggest issue is I suffer from ARFID and my "safe foods" for main meals are basically bread and potatoes.

I manage it though by having protein meal replacement shakes for breakfast and lunch and then making chips in my air fryer or having a baked sweet potato etc. I find that I can deal with having one main meal.

I've been using my Fitbit to track activity and tbh I'm loving lockdown because it's making me more active than I'd ever be in normal life!

I do a "main weigh" every Monday and log that one - but do weigh every morning as like pp's I learn my body's habits and I'm less disheartened if I see a gain.

Weight this morning was 12st 3.5

Would like to end May at around 11st 11 and overall goal weight of under 10 stone. ** I'm 5ft 4 so that would put me in the healthy BMI bracket.

I genuinely can't remember ever being under 12 stone so the fact I'm this close is very motivating. According to MFP this evening - if every day was like today I'll be 11st 2 in 5 weeks so tbh I'm hoping lockdown isn't over too soon because once I'm back at work and my 1 year old is back in nursery - I'll struggle to be as active as I am now (using my one exercise to do a route that's about 5k and sends my little one off to sleep at naptime!)

HundredYearOldMan · 05/05/2020 08:57

Weigh day here, down a lb from last week and into the 14s - just! 14st 13.

I feel a bit disappointed only losing 1lb when I have so much to lose, but I know I should be happy that I’ve had a loss every week and I was excited to get into the 14s. Not sure why I feel a bit flat about it. I just need to keep going.

Today’s food
B - banana
L - leftover risotto
D - not sure yet!

Have a great day everyone.

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 05/05/2020 09:17

Morning everyone, well done on your weight loss hundred, any loss is great!

I have had a bad couple of days with lots of extra snacks, probably putting anything I managed to loose back on Sad. I have managed 15,000 steps most days except yesterday though, so hopefully something good. Anyway, a new day today, so fingers crossed it goes better today!

Onesmallstep67 · 05/05/2020 10:08

@Ploughingthrough, thank you for the welcome back and encouragement.
I had a pretty good day yesterday and have now managed 2 days without snacking and alcohol. I did about 25k on the exercise bike although I am not convinced it's the best exercise for me. I think a walk today would be a better idea.
Another lb off but lots to go before I am back to my weight 2 months ago. Feel I have made the initial push though, I always find the first day difficult. Need to get fully back into my stride with things.

Tryingtwo · 05/05/2020 10:35

Good morning all, up from Friday but only a lb and I'm still just in the 11's.

StudentHelp · 05/05/2020 11:47

I’ve lost half a kg since Friday so not a lot but it’s still a loss. Did 30 minutes of dedicated ab exercises yesterday and thought I’d really be able to feel it today but I can’t Grin which I think means I need to do more today after my work out

JessJonesJumps · 05/05/2020 15:44

@cricketmum84 our fruit and veg box comes tomorrow. I can't wait. I have some apples I need to use up so might make an apple cake tonight for DH and for DS.

Weight is slightly down this morning. I ended up doing OMAD yesterday so that probably helped.

DS is getting back into his snacking routine that he has at school and I'm too often slipping into it with him Blush so I think I'll need OMAD more often just now to compensate for it.

Ticklemeelmo · 05/05/2020 17:47

Hi all I have realised there is a problem with my Salter digital bathroom scales- the readings for weight changes by up to 4 lbs when you stand on them, then get off and immediately stand on them again. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? They're quite old, possibly around 10 years- wondering if it would be worth trying a new battery.

Have been relatively good today so far, managed a 45 minute jog at lunchtime.
