Welcome to @StudentHelp and @HeyChief! This is a very friendly thread, I hope you find it as helpful and supportive as I have Grin

Weirdly the water thing seems to have a real impact. I dutifully tracked and drank my 2 litres of water yesterday (realising that I almost never ever have that much!) and lo and behold, this morning a pound and a half was gone. I've been hovering at around the same weight for ten days despite sticking to my points, so it was interesting! Going to try to do the same today!

Eesha · 02/05/2020 15:14

@GetTheStartyParted @recklessgran just checked my bmi and I'm officially obese at 87.5kg, 5ft 6. It's advised I should lose 4.5kg. My goal is very superficial, a date once lock down is over and I want to look on my A Game Smile....

So just eating leftovers today, no cereal for the 1st time. Tomorrow beginning keto so will be eggs for breakfast if anything, sausages for lunch with veggies.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 02/05/2020 16:45

Afternoon all. Hope everyone is well. 😊

I'm desperately trying not to order a cakeaway for tonight. Help!

Food for today:
B - porridge 150kcals
L- sausage roll 327kcals
D- steak, onion rings and sweet potato 456kcals.

Been on a walk with DD2 and earned myself 420kcals.

Hurtsrighthere · 02/05/2020 17:01

If it's okay I would like to join? I've been on and off a weight loss mission for 3 years now, I started at 14 stone 11, 2 years ago I was 10 stone 7, last year I was 11 stone 7 and now I'm 12 stone 6.75(I could round it up to 7 but I feel better if I don't 😅) a few weeks ago I was 12 stone 12 though, I needed to do something quick before it got too bad. I don't think I'll manage to get back to 10 stone 7, but I would like to. I've been walking 4/5 miles a day, doing weights and I started insanity 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately I haven't seen much improvement on the scales yet but I'm hoping it will show soon.

I have been sticking to between 1000 to 1100 calories a day, which is about 800 less than I was eating a couple of months ago. Unfortunately I just feel quite down because my stomach looks bloated and saggy and I've some big love handles and can never seem to get my waist measurements below 32inch which isn't good enough.

I'll be weighing and measuring Monday's I think. Had an off day today so I thought company might make things easier.

PlanetSlattern · 02/05/2020 17:15

I'm a couple of days late, I know, but I'd like to join you please. I've definitely put on weight since lockdown began: too much chocolate, booze and – last night – homemade cheesy chips. 😬

Currently around 11st3, would be brilliant to get down to 10st10 by June. I'm quite short so really ought to weigh a maximum of 10st4 – so ideally I want to shift a stone by the end of the summer.

PlanetSlattern · 02/05/2020 17:21

I feel best when I stick to fairly low carb... but I don't want to be too extreme as not sure it'll stick long-term.

Today:

  • Oat bran porridge with strawberries and cashew butter.
  • Roasted cauliflower with rosemary and feta, dressed with lemon juice.
  • Homemade chicken tikka masala with a side of braised spinach and chickpeas.
  • Snack: x2 oatcakes with avocado and artichoke dip.

I need to get into the habit of doing more exercise.

CarrotPuff · 02/05/2020 17:46

Fell off the thread last month...

I finished April with 1lb gain... must focus this month!

Scales have been stuck at 10.10 and a change for a week now, which is very weird as my weight usually goes up and down every few days. 🤞🏻 it will start going down soon. I've been doing better the last few days, hopefully I'll start seeing that on the scales.

I'm ramping up my running though which always results in weight loss kind of lagging behind. Must KOKO!

Like last month, I'd like to get down to 10.6 which was my lowest weight in March.

Ryslady · 02/05/2020 17:48

Can I join please.

Currently 10st 7lb
Would like to be 10st 2lb by June.

Going to try and low carb as I have been doing a bit on and off. And cut out chocolate, sweets, cake, biscuits because I'm a beast when I get going.

GetTheStartyParted · 02/05/2020 17:58

@Eesha I am obese too Sad but I now only have 1 stone to go before I'm 'just' overweight! 3 months ago I was 2st10 heavier than I am today so it's all progress! Good luck with keto. Make sure you check the carbs in the sausages, some are terrible and will use most if your daily allowance. Tesco finest are good.

Hi to @PlanetSlattern and @Hurtsrighthere sounds like you both have good plans, best of luck.

My day so far has been:
B- bacon, cheese and egg
L- keto biscuit bar, peanuts, celery and mayo.
D- will be mushrooms, cabbage, soft cheese and cheese, all baked together. It smells so nice. And a dessert of sugar free jelly with extra thick cream.

Eesha · 02/05/2020 18:34

My day was

  1. leftover cereal from kids
  2. 6 chicken nuggets leftover from kids
  3. Chicken curry homemade and Greek yoghurt
recklessgran · 02/05/2020 19:33

Evening all. Back on it here. A slice of ham, a small chunk of cheese and 6 walnuts for lunch. I'm having sausages tonight @Eesha [Tesco Finest thick ones] with fried onions and a whole pack of fresh runner beans to myself.[Being greedy!] I'll be having a pot of sugar free jelly and 2 squares of Lindt over 85% dark chocolate whilst watching Britain's Got Talent by way of a treat. [I know how to live don't I?]. @Eesha I was obese too when I started this but now I'm more than halfway down the overweight section on the BMI chart. I'm just beginning to think that I don't look too bad when I look at myself in the mirror. I could be mistaken - hard to tell as DH is not usually the complimentary type.
Really big welcome to @PlanetSlattern, @Hurtsrighthere and @Ryslady and welcome back@CarrotPuff. Sorry if I've missed anyone - hope you all stick around and enjoy hanging out with us all here. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Eesha · 02/05/2020 19:39

@recklessgran are you allowed sauces etc?

MH248 · 02/05/2020 20:44

Hello, just joined Mumsnet for the first time as I thought this would be the perfect place to find some weight loss buddies, and I was right. Been dieting since mid February and really think having a group to share ideas, and struggles, with would help.

My February 27th start weight was 18st 4lbs. Am now 15st 7lbs. So by the end of the month I’d like to be around 15st.

Looking forward to joining in the chat.

recklessgran · 02/05/2020 22:30

@Eesha yes you can have sauces as long as they're creamy and low carb. I'm very fond of pepper sauce and make one using butter, cream, peppercorns and ground pepper. I don't have a recipe I just go by the look and taste but there are lots of Keto sauce recipes online - some examples here;
www.purewow.com/food/keto-sauce-recipes
easylowcarb.com/pork-tenderloin-with-creamy-dijon-sauce-keto-low-carb/
@MH248 welcome - that's a brilliant loss. You are doing amazingly!

JessJonesJumps · 02/05/2020 23:06

Just realised I forgot to post this morning. Weight is sts.
I didn't log on my food tracker as much as I should have in April so I'm going to try to get back into the habit this month.
I dropped some food over to DM today. It's the first time myself and DS have left the house/garden since the week before the schools closed. We had masks, gloves etc and just dropped the bag at the door but it was lovely to see her.

ploughingthrough · 03/05/2020 02:36

Hi everyone. Welcome all new people you're in the right group. Weighed this morning at 61.5 kilos which is a slight decrease from start of the month. It's been really slow for me the last few weeks and I only have a few pounds till I'm happy with my weight and just want to maintain. My body is pushing against me losing much more I think - this last bit has been really hard work! I follow 16:8 and I've been fine without breakfast but today it's 9,30am and I'm sooo hungry. It's time of the month which doesn't help but I just want to eat!!!

Today Ive reached 14kg overal loss since this all began so that's a nice milestone to achieve. Couldn't have done anything like it without you lovely lot ♥️

katcha16 · 03/05/2020 09:35

Hi all,

I would love to join in please, need all the support and help I can get! Currently (unsuccessfully) ttc #2 but feel my weight is impacting so...

My stats:
Start weight (mid March)- 16st 12lbs
Current weight - 15st 11.5lbs
Target for 31st May - 15st 4lbs

Trying to follow IF 16:8 while maintaining 1200 cals and relative low carb in the eating window.

Definitely need to start exercising though.... Apple Watch is on and I am going to be more mindful of steps for the upcoming week more than setting a target for now.

Onceuponatimethen · 03/05/2020 09:51

Joining again ladies! Sorry for the late check in but this has been a hard week. Dp been very up and down this week - with work pressure and feeling down on himself for having plateaued with weight loss.

However after a bit of a push to cut calories for a few days we are both weighed in this morning and here to ‘start’ May!

Dp weighing in at 82.8 (so has probably lost around 1.5 kg since 1 April). Very proud of him considering where he started in December Smile He wants to lose at least 5kg more by the summer. He will probably want to lose another kg after that but he’s going for a realistic sounding target for him.

I’m now at 76.4 kg which is my lowest weight for two years and just going day by day to keep going to see where I can get to!
So grateful for all support on here and thanks to everyone for their replies to my last few posts. Read them all and really helped Flowers

Here’s to a great month for us all, ladies! We have definitely got this and we will all be helping each other through Star

CarrotPuff · 03/05/2020 10:24

My weight is very firmly stuck at 10.10.8. I've only eaten about 1100 cals yesterday, and my maintenance is 1600, plus went for a 5 mile run, so that's another 500 cals at least. Would the scales pleaaase just mooove.

Onceuponatimethen · 03/05/2020 11:11

It will happen @CarrotPuff dp was exactly the same for actually about a week and then they moved 1.2kg all at once!!

JessJonesJumps · 03/05/2020 11:27

@Ploughingthrough and @onceuponatimethen and mronce - congrats on your losses! You are so inspiring!
Weight sts here. Tbh it's the best I could have hoped for since I've eaten quite a lot of carbs this weekend.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone!

Ticklemeelmo · 03/05/2020 11:28

I've put on 2 lbs in several days 😫 May be time to put a bit more effort into this.

HundredYearOldMan · 03/05/2020 11:33

@CarrotPuff it’s annoying when the scales don’t move quickly enough!

I am feeling good, have seen a 14 on the scales for 2 days running. Official weigh day is Tuesday, hopefully the 14 something will stay until then! I have been having lovely food but in smaller quantities. That’s what I like about calorie counting.

Food for today
Lie in so no brekkie
Lunch - avocado, prawns, spinach and tomatoes
Dinner - burger with plastic cheese and bacon. Yum!

CoronaMoaner · 03/05/2020 11:47

Regretting the wine from last night... but I did get my you tube workout done and took a walk yesterday so not feeling guilty. Will try and get a walk in this afternoon, once I’ve got dressed.

StudentHelp · 03/05/2020 12:45

How often is everyone weighing themselves and are you having relaxed days on weekends?
I’m weighing once a week and relaxing what I eat at weekends, this seems to be working as I lost 10lb in 2 weeks.

I eat 1300 calories a day through the week and around 1600-1700 at the weekend and they’re often not as healthy.
I’m doing exercise 5/6 days a week and a walk every day. Before lockdown I was going to the gym 5 days a week and walking as well as uni but since I’m studying from home I piled a bit on instead of losing! So I made the decision to be stricter just less than 3 weeks ago.

I’m 5 foot 9, currently 12 stone 5 and hoping to be 10 stone by Christmas
