Wow @grumpyorange that's amazing. Congratulations. Try not to worry too much about it @monicabingaling a loss is still a loss and you'll probably find you have the odd week of a big loss where it all catches up.

Thursday was a bit of a lazy day got my steps and did 20 mins of yoga but nothing else. Dragged myself on a bike ride yesterday because I cant go this weekend (working) and did another 16k. My legs felt heavy and tired though - but I did the route in the quickest time and got a couple of personal records to make me feel it was worth the effort.

Today's plans:
B: porridge
L: poached egg on toast
D: DP wants to get a takeaway so I think I'll have a look and see what looks like the healthiest option.

Will try and hit 10k steps and get on my static bike. I'll weigh in tomorrow as that's the closest to a week.

cricketmum84 · 30/05/2020 08:38

Morning all! Official weigh in day today and I managed to hit 17.9 which was my target for May :) I feel positive that things are moving again!

Don't have much of a plan today as I haven't done my weekly meal plan yet... probably some melon slices later and then some kind of salad tonight.

That's brilliant @MonicaBingaling! And congrats for getting down into the next stone. That's always such a good feeling!

@JessJonesJumps oh no, I hope your DM recovers quickly, must be so worrying with everything else that's going on.

Have a lovely sunny Saturday everyone. I'm planning on spending some time in the garden with my book.

Very pleased you met your target @cricketmum84 Star Hope you enjoy your time with your book. The weather has just been amazingly good.

Well done for 16k @Irishstout very impressive

@recklessgran it is so hard not being able to hug, isn’t it, but I’m sure you will all enjoy seeing each other even if under these rules

@JessJonesJumps I hope your DM gets a bit better soon

@MonicaBingaling well done with your loss - makes it all worthwhile doesn’t it - brilliant work Star

@SconNotScone I couldn’t agree more - my youngest dd is a similar age and I’m very conscious not to go on and on about scales and calories. We say to them that there is no such thing as a bad food, just that less healthy food has to be eaten in moderation

Onceuponatimethen · 30/05/2020 08:51

Meant to say - weighed today and 74.4 kg now, so actually creeping closer to my 74 kg target.

Dp is a bit baffled because his weight is now 80.4, so up .5 kg even though he’s been eating the same meals as me and I’m losing. I’ve said that sometimes that just happens and to keep on keeping on!

recklessgran · 30/05/2020 09:10

Morning all. A sneaky weigh in this morning puts me at 12st and a quarter of a pound. Wondering if I might be able to lose half a pound by Monday so that I can finally get into the 11's. If nothing else it might help me stay on track for the weekend!
@Onceuponatimethen tell DH I'm also baffled at times by the scales having a mind of their own. I largely try not to take their tantrums too seriously and KOKO as you say.
@CricketMum84 well done on your great loss, amazing, especially when you're not well and need to pamper yourself. It's stunning weatherwise here so I'm going to try to spend more time in the garden too. Hope everyone gets out and about to make the most of this.
Food plan for today will definitely involve some kind of salad. It's far too hot to spend much time in the kitchen. Have a great day all and don't forget to keep drinking the water!

Onesmallstep67 · 30/05/2020 10:36

Well done everyone. Great losses. It's lovely to hear about all the successes and to feel part of a group of such lovely, supportive people.
I am doing okay. Still teetering on the 7lb lost target for May. Food wise I feel I am making fairly sound choices. My downfall remains a need to reward myself with something if I have been 'good '. Yesterday I had wine and chocolate. It was offset by a fairly decent walk and sensible food choices. But if I could resist the extras think how much better I could do !

Enjoy the sunshine and whatever your weekend has in store. See you in June ! Smile

Confusedmamamia · 30/05/2020 12:50

I've been quietly watching for quite a while so would like to formally join if you don't mind!

I have a long way to go but I managed to loose 12.4lbs this month! Hoping to keep it up!

JessJonesJumps · 30/05/2020 15:02

Thanks for all the kind wishes about DM. We're hoping she gets out of hospital again today.
Well done everyone who hit their May target! That's amazing!
Also well done to everyone else. I think even just being on these threads is an achievement in the current climate.
My aim was to lose 5.2lbs in May which would have brought me to exactly 12 stone. As of this morning, I've lost 5lbs. Hoping although it's highly unlikely I can lose 0.2lbs by tomorrow or even 0.3lbs to put me into the 11's Grin

WhatALearningCurve · 30/05/2020 16:14

@onesmallstep67 I'm like that. I find My Fitness Pal really helpful for that. I put my food into it for the day in a morning - then "complete" so I can see what my 5 week finish will be like without any exercise. Then when I want a "treat" I put it in and check it again and ask myself whether the slower loss is worth the extra calories

TheStirrer · 30/05/2020 18:37

Well done on the fab weight losses!

Somehow after annoyingly staying the same last week I managed to lose 3.25lbs - not quite sure how! Just scraped the 7lbs mark coming in 7.5 lbs for May.
More excitingly I have now lost 50lbs so far this year (I had a lot to loseBlush) and am tantalisingly close to having lost half the weight I need to to get into healthy bmi range. Hopefully I can cross this off in June and get into the 15s. Fingers crossed.
Wishing everyone a good June ... onwards and downwards!!

GetTheStartyParted · 30/05/2020 21:53

Evening all, seems like most of you are still doing really well.

The scales are slowly moving here. I doubt I will have made 7lbs this month but my body is changing shape. From reading up, this is common with keto. I am edging towards dropping another dress size so the numbers don't really matter I guess.

I am going to attempt to attach a photo that shows me wearing an old pair of my trousers (they fit me in January). My DH suggested this after I said the scales were not moving fast enough!

I'm in awe of those that keep losing big amounts but all of us slower losers will get there too, one step at a time Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 30/05/2020 22:08

@GetTheStartyParted wow! That’s a great picture - you have lost loads and that must have been a very triumphant moment Smile

GetTheStartyParted · 30/05/2020 22:12

Thank you @Onceuponatimethen it does feel great but I still have to lose another 9lbs before I am not obese anymore. I really want to be just overweight.

I think that's going to be my June target. I'm going to introduce some exercise since swimming won't be an option any time soon.

cricketmum84 · 30/05/2020 23:12

Sad day here today as our little ancient hamster passed away. She had lived twice as long as the average life expectancy so we were expecting it soon but still very sad. DD(11) had a big cry and says she doesn't want anymore hamsters as it's too sad when they die.

@GetTheStartyParted that is such a huge difference! I'm tempted to put some pics together to show progress :)

Ended up with a really really lovely salad for dinner. Lettuce, ultra ripe beautifully sweet tomatoes, cucumber, fresh mint, avocado, lime juice, chilli and feta. Could have eaten it twice :)

WhatALearningCurve · 31/05/2020 08:00

Good morning!

My official weigh day is Monday but thought I'd get an end of month one today and a start of month one tomorrow.

11 stone 8 this morning.

Didn't say myself on the 1st May but thats 8.5lb since the 4th May! (Weight then was 12 stone 2.5).

I am so happy with this!

My aim for June is definitely 8lbs so I can end in touching distance of the 10's! I've always thought I just had a body type that was heavier set. But the way the weight is coming is showing me I've been lying to myself all these years. I always thought I'd be overweight and my healthy BMI was a ridiculous figure. It's mind boggling that I'm only about a stone away from it.

WhatALearningCurve · 31/05/2020 08:02

@cricketmum84 oh I'm sorry about your hamster! Hope DD is okay.

@GetTheStartyParted those pictures are amazing. Sometimes seeing how clothes change on you is more satisfying then seeing a scale move

@thestirrer that weight loss is amazing! 50lb is around what I'm aiming to lose in total and it just seems like such a big thing at the start doesn't it

GetTheStartyParted · 31/05/2020 08:16

@cricketmum84 that's so sad, I hope your DD is ok. Your dinner sounds delicious.

@WhatALearningCurve Thanks, you're right, this is for my health so while I obviously need to keep losing weight, my body needs to heal and change along the way. Well done for your loss, you're doing great.

I also used to tell myself that my body type was heavier than others (mainly as I have a very petite older sister that doesn't seem able to gain weight!). I feel so much better already that I can't wait to see how I feel when I have lost the same amount again!

@TheStirrer sorry, I missed your update. That's amazing Star Hope you have given yourself a huge pat on the back!

We're buying a barbecue today so I have the day off cooking. DH makes breakfast during the weekend and he is also in charge of barbecuing. Looking forward to a day in the sun.

SconNotScone · 31/05/2020 08:29

Morning all!

@WhatALearningCurve congrats on a brilliant loss this month (less than a month in fact!) Just think, in a couple of months, you could be into the healthy BMI, that’s no time at all!

@GetTheStartyParted I love your pic! Well done, it does just go to show the importance of measuring and progress pics, as well as what the scales say. Enjoy your bbq in the sunshine!

@TheStirrer big congratulations on hitting such an amazing milestone - 50lb down is fantastic!

@cricketmum84 sorry to hear about the hamster 😥 hope your daughter is ok today. Your dinner yesterday sounds really lovely and summery!

@JessJonesJumps I hope your mum is doing ok? Was she discharged yesterday in the end? Well done on your 5lb so far this month, fingers crossed that the last tiny bit comes off so you reach that goal for the end of the month!

@Confusedmamamia welcome and wow!! Over 12lb off in a month is amazing!!

Hope everyone has a good end to the month!!

SconNotScone · 31/05/2020 08:43

Monday is weigh day for me anyway, so I’ll weigh tomorrow morning and use that as my end of the month and start of the month weight.

My actual exercise has been almost non-existent this month, except for making sure I get at least 10k steps. I’m thinking of setting myself a little challenge, and doing a short (15 min) workout on YouTube every day in the month of June. I know that if I say “I’ll do a 30 or 40 minute workout 3 times a week”, I’ll just put it off each day and not do it. If I have a chart on the fridge to cross off every day, and they’re only short workouts, I am more likely to stick to it! Of course, this could all end up crashing down around me, when I get too lazy, but I’ll be trying my best!

I found a pic on my phone the other day that I took back in January, it was me in my undies just as a reminder of my body shape. I had already lost 7lb by then. I’ve now lost another 21lb, and I can see such a difference in my body shape. It is nice to have that visual reminder!

Food plan for me today is skipping breakfast, a katsu curry “meal soup” for lunch (got some in Sainsbury’s to try, just under 300cal for the pot), then a Caesar salad with chicken breast, crispy bacon and mini new potatoes for dinner. We had it last week, and it was delish. Just one of the Caesar salad bags from Sainsbury’s, comes with the dressing, croutons and Parmesan shavings. I just make sure I put less dressing and Parmesan on mine, but the calorie count is pretty reasonable overall, considering how yummy it is!

cricketmum84 · 31/05/2020 09:13

Morning all :)

End weight for May is still 17.9 so I officially made the 7lb target. I was secretly hoping for a tiny bit more but I'm happy with that considering how the last couple of months have gone.

Plan for today is OMAD, normal for me on a Sunday. I made a point free crustless quiche yesterday with eggs, fat free cottage cheese, red onion, diced peppers and some tomatoes I had slow roasted the day before. Planning a chunk of that warmed up with some BNS wedges and a cucumber, tomato and mint salad again.

@TheStirrer fantastic result for May! And for the year so far too. I bet you feel so different :)

@WhatALearningCurve amazing :) I've always been as you say - heavier set. You are giving me hope that I can finally get down to a healthy weight. It's been 16 years since I wasn't in an overweight BMI range.

Welcome @Confusedmamamia that's a pretty impressive start!!

@SconNotScone I wish I had taken some more brutal pics when I first started lol. I've got my newly ordered smaller size summer clothes on today so going to get DD to take me a full length pic and then put together a collage type thing for the last 18 months. I think it will give me a boost :)

I'll get the June (!!!) thread up and running in a bit and link back here for us :)

Have a lovely relaxing Sunday!

That is AMAZING @cricketmum84!! Huge well done. I love comparison pics!

recklessgran · 31/05/2020 11:28

Morning all. @cricketmum84 so sorry about hamster. Made me think of our Henrietta the hamster which the DD's had when they were children. They even had a funeral for her and I had to wrap her up in cotton wool - she was buried with her toys and some food for eating in heaven in a tiny green Clark's shoe box in the garden. The dd's made a solemn little procession to the "graveside". [Some of them were quite young at the time so it did help with the processing.] Hope your DD feels better about it soon - at least she knows that she gave her little friend a happy and loved little life.

@Confusedmamamia welcome to our thread - hope you'll be very happy here with our lovely leader @cricketmum84 and the rest of the gang.
I'm confused - is today the final weigh day for May or is it tomorrow for the start of June? Today I am exactly 12 stone dead but tomorrow is my usual weigh day. That means a loss of 6lbs for me for May which I'm very happy with even though it has felt a bit of a struggle at times. Plan for June is to finally get into the 11's and reach 11st 10lbs which I think will be my final goal and is the very top end of my heights BMI healthy weight chart. Not sure about that yet as I need to see what I look like when I get there. I'm still a 14 though but I think given my age that is O.K. I'm thinking of starting to wear my new smaller wardrobe from tomorrow as I do now look a bit of a state in my 16/18 current stuff if I'm honest.
I think progress pics are a good idea and wish I'd done something like that from the beginning.I don't think any of mine would be as impressive as yours though @GetTheStartyParted. I'm still wearing my "fat" jeans - they're VERY stretchy and I just have to hoik them up now and again but I can't make them show a gap like you have. [Blimey I must have been stretching them to the limit!]
Today's food will be roast beef dinner but I am determined not to eat roast potatoes or Yorkshire so it will be just roast beef and veg for me.
Hope everyone is doing O.K. and enjoying the sunshine.
