Sorry for late post today guys! Been a busy work day today.

Had bread earlier which was naughty of me. "Bacon" and mushroom sandwich. Then a pear for a snack. Got cauliflower wings in the oven now ready for dinner, will be adding a spicy sauce and a big salad.

@Ticklemeelmo I would say new scales :( are they digital or manual? If digital Make sure they are always in the same place and press on them a couple of times to make them register zero and switch off again before you get weighed.

@JessJonesJumps love my fruit and veg boxes :) I need to use up loads of pears though. Would your Apple cake recipe work??

Well done on the loss @StudentHelp and @HundredYearOldMan

Welcome back @WhatALearningCurve lovely to see you again!

Just planning tomorrow's lunches. I've now got 2 huge honeydew melons so need to start munching through them 😂

Good day for me today - 13k steps (about 3k of those were dancing around the kitchen with my headphones in, it was so much fun!) and I did about 15 mins of squats, lunges, leg raises, butt kicks, etc this morning.

No breakfast today, small portion of leftover chicken/chorizo jambalaya for lunch (turned out only one bit of chicken and chorizo was left in the pan though, booo!), breaded haddock, small portion of oven chips and peas for dinner, and a little mini bit of brownie we baked earlier.

No set plan for tomorrow, will have to play it by ear.

@cricketmum84 when I have pears to use up, I love the GBBO pear and cardamom cake Recipe
It's fab.
I make up my own recipes for my apple cakes because DH has tonnes of allergies - wheat, caffeine, eggs, dairy. Basically I adapt an upside down cake or I stew apples and then stir the apples and cinnamon into a cake batter or line the tray with cake batter, pour apples on top then cover with more batter.

I was right, I've lost the gain from last week but nothing new.

Ah well, onwards and downwards. 😊

Morning all. I overdid the exercise yesterday. Did a Zumba kids workout with the kids in the morning, a 20 minute cardio at lunchtime while my son napped and then went for a long walk in the evening. Then I couldn’t sleep and my legs ached and felt like lead. They still ache this morning.
Mental note not to go from doing nothing to everything in the first week of May...
... so I’ll be doing no exercise to give my body a break today. Will weigh in again tomorrow so will be good today.
B. Cereal and a banana (already eaten)
L. Rice cakes and low fat dairylea, fruit and baked crisps
D. Chicken, potatoes and veg
Snacks. Yoghurt and fruit
Good luck losers

Morning!

Weighed myself earlier and was 12st 0.5. I can't believe it. 3lb down from Monday apparently?!

I'm at the end of my period which is helping and I'm thinking about staying off the pill to see if that helps my loss.

I also drank 5litres of water yesterday which must be helping!

Morning, loving all the positive posts!

I have a NSV Star I can fit in a size 14! So happy, I was squeezing in an 18 in Feb. I bought new jeans as they were on offer, thinking they would be good for when I've lost a bit more and they already fit me Grin

I may have tried on all the dresses I have in size 14 too, and they all fit! Haven't worn them for around 5 years.

Today's food:
B - yoghurt and strawberries
L - ham, celery and cheese
D - something with chicken and runner beans, haven't decided what yet

Morning all. Sorry I was away yesterday - crazy work day.
@GetTheStartyParted so pleased for you and know how that feels as I'm also proud to fit in 14's and am busy gathering a new wardrobe ready for the end of lockdown. In the meantime I'm slobbing around in my old too big stuff and probably look a bit of a mess!
@CricketMum84 hope you're feeling a bit better.
@MotherOfDragonite are you O.K.? I've noticed that you're missing and have been thinking of you.
@Ecci how are you getting on with the Keto way of eating?
Great to see you back @Onesmallstep67 and @SconNotScone. We've got lots of lovely new people too so turning in to quite a big group for @Cricket to keep in order!
I've been good so far this month and it's showing already on the scales. Determined to finally get into the 11's before the end of May.
KOKO everyone.

@recklessgran thanks for checking in! Actually this keto ish diet hasn't been too bad. I miss my cereal but have replaced my rice for cauliflower rice and don't really notice any difference. I feel better and less bloated. I was always a 14/16 but would be lovely to get into an outright 14. Scales moved down a 1lb when I first started but nothing since. Will keep going though.

Morning everyone. A lovely bright sunny morning here in the Midlands. lots of positivity on the thread at the moment, so impressed with those who have managed to lose during this most difficult of times.
I'm hoping my backside is firmly back on the wagon. I am already more than a kilo lighter than when I weighed on Sunday but that's to be expected. I nice boost though to keep me going. For me it's as much a mental battle as a physical challenge.
Thanks as always to @cricketmum84 for keeping the thread going and hi to @recklessgran, great to see you are doing so well.

@getthestartyparted congrats! I love a good NSV. I seem to have lost a decent amount of weight so far but not enough to show in one place but I'm excited for clothes to feel different when this is all over. Especially as I've been living in leggings and T-shirt's so hopefully I'll see it in real world clothes ha

GetTheStartyParted · 06/05/2020 12:23

Thank you @recklessgran and @WhatALearningCurve It feels great, it's been too long! Unfortunately the dresses are all rather fancy so I won't be wearing them, I'll mainly be sporting baggy clothes Grin

Well done @Eesha glad to hear it's going well. Hope you haven't suffered with keto flu or felt too bad, the first week of cutting out sugar and lowering carbs so dramatically can be tough. I was fine but my DH was quite unwell.

DH has reached his target weight and returned to normal eating now. I'm only about halfway.

Report
recklessgran · 06/05/2020 12:32

@GetTheStartyParted I'm interested in your DH's "normal eating". I'm beginning to wonder what to do once I get to my goal. Half a stone to go, so I'm trying to work out how to arrange my eating going forward. Does he do Keto cycling or just low carb rather than Keto? I'm terrified of putting the weight back on so thinking that I probably need to avoid bread for ever [former bread/toast addict.] I'd be really grateful for any advice - thanks.

Well done @getthepartystarted ! That's a brilliant NSV! Star

I'm up again. I have no idea what's going on. Trying not to be too disheartened.

GetTheStartyParted · 06/05/2020 13:00

Thanks @JessJonesJumps I hope you have have more success in the coming days, don't be disheartened, you've done so well.

@recklessgran he is trying to build muscle now (he's too skinny!) so is following a plan for that, which recommends he eats 33/33/33. It came with a meal plan but he doesn't like any of the foods so he's eating anything he likes! He's had a full roast dinner, toast, sandwiches, chocolate. Smaller portions than he used to but he's been eating normally since Saturday and only put 1lb on.

He's not one to follow though as he only has to stop eating his second portion of dinner everyday to lose weight, it's not fair Wink Once at target, I plan on low carbing 6 days and a day off once a week so I don't feel deprived. I know I can't go back to eating normally. I haven't missed bread too much, though toast smells so good some days. I would love a roast potato though Grin

Report
recklessgran · 06/05/2020 13:10

@GetTheStaryParted thank you. I think I'm going to try introducing one carb a day and see how that goes. e.g. I can have one of toast/potato/pasta/ rice per day not all of them. Otherwise Keto 5 days a week then eat what I like on 2 days. That gives a bit of flexibility as we often [preCV] went out for meals during the week. I guess you're right everyone's different so it's going to be trial and error to get the balance right.Don't really know why I'm worrying about it just yet - if last month was anything to go by it will be another 3 months before I reach my goal.

Report
GetTheStartyParted · 06/05/2020 13:57

That sounds like a good plan. We often ate out too so I need to adjust and change my habits to suit. I have a long time to go before target but it's nice to dream about being there.

Guys I literally cannot wait until the bank holiday weekend!! I know we can't do anything or go anywhere but I so need a break from staring at the laptop all day!

Not really eaten today but having a leftover freezer portion of butternut squash and chickpea curry with brown rice in a bit. No change in weight although official weigh in isn't until Saturday so I need to be patient.

Thanks @recklessgran, still really sore and the rash is still rank. Hoping I don't need more antibiotics.

Excellent NSV @GetTheStartyParted!! That must be such a good feeling!

@WhatALearningCurve amazing loss! Huge well done! Sure lots of people say this but make sure you strike a balance between lots of water and too much water. You can flush out too many electrolytes with too much water - although I'm sure there will be someone more knowledgeable than me along!!

@JessJonesJumps no cake ingredients here I'm afraid :( I have salad and feta though - do you think it would go together??

Hope everyone has had a good Wednesday! I will post earlier tomorrow!!

I had a binge day yesterday. Lots of cheese and crackers, wine and ice cream instead of dinner. No excuses really, except that work is horrible at the moment – yesterday especially so – and the first day of my period.

Today:

  • Oat bran porridge with strawberries and nut butter
  • sardines on toast (x1 slice)
  • Apple and cheese
  • Roast chicken with potatoes, carrots and peas

Now finishing bedtime and going to go and have a glass of cold rosé and a few squares of dark 85% chocolate. It's not perfect (and I'm drinking too much), but I did 10,000 steps yesterday and a Joe Wicks workout at least. If I'm not gaining, that's something at least.

Evening everyone, hope you are all getting on ok, it sounds like lots of you are! It’s very encouraging.

Day 3 and my stomach already feels flatter, I’m not weighing myself, will only do that after each full week.

Today’s menu
B - x2 brown toast with peanut butter
L - apple/banana/strawberries with Greek yogurt
T - (Abit random) Moroccan cous cous thing with a veggie burger (without bun) and some green veg

Snacks - watermelon slices

Lots of water and a 45 min walk with dc.
Some more weights this afternoon.

Woooh more sunshine for tomorrow!

I weighed myself today for the first time since starting this. It's showing I've lost 3.8lbs. I know it's likely to be a fluke of the first week but I'm feeling quite proud!
