Hello everyone and welcome to day 3!

@HundredYearOldMan god I love plastic cheese slices 😂 especially in white bread with lurpak! Very occasional treat when I've got enough ww points left.

@Ticklemeelmo I've been rubbish at it this week but I do find tracking everything keeps me more on track. I use the ww app but even just having a notebook and writing everything down makes you a little more mindful. It's a weird time at the moment so don't feel down at a small gain. We can pull this back!

@Onceuponatimethen lowest weight in 2 years is an instant high five from me!! We have got this!!

@katcha16 fantastic loss so far especially since only mid March!! You are putting me to shame!

@ploughingthrough ❤️❤️ you've done so well

@JessJonesJumps ive also been a bit rubbish on the tracking front but am going to try harder this month. I meal planned for the week yesterday and have logged each days evening meal in the ww app to give me a kick start!

Huge welcome to anyone who has joined in the last couple of days! I really hope you feel welcome and supported.

Plan for today is:
L - v small final leftover portion of quorn chilli and brown rice
D - ww recipe one pot pasta with leeks, mushroom and broccoli. It's wholewheat pasta so 2 points per portion on purple :) should be enough for lunch tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a calm, peaceful Sunday

@JessJonesJumps that was a lovely thing to be able to tell dp - thank you! Dp is made up!

I always take STS as a win - there’s always the rest of the month for losing and I’m sure we can all achieve it Smile

Onceuponatimethen · 03/05/2020 13:37

Loving your we got this meme @cricketmum84. Your one pot pasta sounds lush!

@StudentHelp I know they say you shouldn’t weigh too much as it’s only over a longer period of time you get a true picture. I probably do it around 5 times a week, but think it would probably be better if I only did it once!! I do allow myself a little more at weekends but try not to ever go crazy, because I think for me it’s hard to get back into good habits once I’ve let go!

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 03/05/2020 13:40

Hi.
Can I join from today please? I would love to do this and see all your ideas and hopefully it will give me a kick up a bum that I need! Good luck everyone !!

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 03/05/2020 13:42

I forgot to put I'm going to do 1200 to 1400 calories a day and my height is 5ft 2 and currently at 10st 6. I'm hoping to do 10,000 steps a day and hopefully that will help too!

grumpyorange · 03/05/2020 13:46

Hi all, may I join in?

Day 2 of me changing my ways and hoping for support and kicks up the bum!

Onceuponatimethen · 03/05/2020 13:47

Please do join ladies - this is a life saving thread with lovely supportive people!

CarrotPuff · 03/05/2020 14:41

@HundredYearOldMan I'm very excited about your plastic cheese 😂 I used to love it as a child!

I weigh myself every day and record it on FitBit app. My weight can vary up to 3-4 lbs throughout the week, so if I only weighed myself once a week and it happened to be one of higher days, I'd get quite disheartened. It helps me see patterns and trends and be quite honest with myself. It helps to learn that weight loss is very very far from linear, it's the overall trend that matters.

Fitbit also calculates a running average each week and plots a trend line that smoothes out all peaks and dips. Which I find very useful and fascinating.

recklessgran · 03/05/2020 15:09

Afternoon all and welcome to some more new faces. The more the merrier. I had a tin of tuna with some cherry tomatoes for lunch. Trying to up my water intake too. DH and DD1 are having Hunter's chicken for dinner but I think I'll have ham and egg mayo salad as DGS brought us some fresh salad bits yesterday so I'm keen to start using that. I'm a daily weigher - it is best for me as I keep a diary in a pretty notebook with my daily weight and food intake. I also keep a record of each week's weight loss and my vital statistics [Grim reading would love to be 36-24-36 but I'm more like 38-33-41] Good job I'm tall.
@onceuponatimethen you and Mr. Once are doing great things there. Please tell Mr. Once that any loss right now is amazing. This really isn't normal times so......all we can do is our best. KOKO everyone.

grumpyorange · 03/05/2020 15:44

Could I ask a question - what do all of you do for drinks.
I don't like water at all and if I do drink it, it needs to be very cold and remembering to put it in the fridge is a nightmare.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what they've done?

(Sorry if it's a stupid question)

PlanetSlattern · 03/05/2020 19:01

Thanks for the lovely welcome everybody. Loved reading about the inspiring weight losses.

Still feeling "weekendy" today. Will try to be a bit stricter this week, without going mad. (I'm a firm belief in slow and steady...)

  • Bircher muesli with pomegranate seeds and pistachios
  • Homemade wholemeal bread with mozzarella and tomatoes
  • Slice Victoria Sponge (out of politeness, but it was gorgeous)
  • Cottage pie with steamed carrots and leeks
  • x2 small glasses red wine and a G&T
Ticklemeelmo · 03/05/2020 19:07

@cricketmum84

Thank you, that's just what I needed to hear! keeping a food diary is a good plan, I used to do MFP so might try downloading that again. Can't believe you have already lost over 7st, that's amazing.

recklessgran · 03/05/2020 19:32

@Grumpyorange I try to drink 2 litres of water a day - it most definitely helps with the weight loss. I just buy the cheapest 2 litre bottles from Tescos and put one in the fridge door each night next to the milk ready for the next day. That serves the purpose of knowing that I have to have drunk the whole bottle by the next night when I put the new bottle in for the next day if you see what I mean.[Saves all the tracking and measuring malarkey]. I don't mind it as long as it's cold. I guess you could flavour it with fresh lemon juice or something. Otherwise black tea or coffee I guess - after all it's still water. Hoping someone more knowledgeable will come along and help you out as I have no clue I'm afraid!

GetTheStartyParted · 03/05/2020 20:29

I drink lots of water, black tea and green tea with lemon. On occasion I have cherry pepsi Max.

Had a lovely day today, nice walk through the local woods next to the park.

Meals were
L: cheese, ham and celery
D: Chicken thighs and broccoli

SneakersandSocks · 03/05/2020 20:59

Hi all,
I’d like to join too!

I had my first baby in Sept last year and have not shifted the baby weight , I’m 2 stone heavier . Non of my clothes fit and I feel very dumpy.
I’m still EBF so want to lose it in a sensible way that won’t affect my supply.

Current weight - 12 stone 13 lbs
Target weight - 10 stone 9 lbs ( pre-baby weight)

Looking forward to hearing what other people are doing and getting on.

Darbs76 · 03/05/2020 21:46

Hi all. Do you mind if I join? I have around a stone to lose. Only short height and any extra weight goes straight to my stomach. I’m only weighing monthly as find the scales affect my motivation.

Starting weight 9st 3.5 (short height that takes me into overweight category
Weighing 8th May - hope to be 8st 12
Plan for end of May - to be 8st 7
Not counting calories formally but expert over the years so eating roughly 1200.
10,000 steps minimum, burning around 1750-1800.

I’ve started my own version of couch to 5k. Have to do very slowly as I have a damaged pancreas and constant pain. I’m doing it round the garden, laps aka Captain Tom style. Recording it all on the kitchen door blackboard so even in the rain I’ve got to get out and do my laps. It’s my lockdown motivation.

Good luck everyone

Onceuponatimethen · 04/05/2020 06:45

@Darbs76 and @SneakersandSocks welcome to the thread - it’s lovely here and lots of support to go for it and lose weight.

@GetTheStartyParted I actually really like cherry Pepsi - get it occasionally if I’m out for the day, but not for a long time now in lockdown!

@recklessgran think you are right that drinking lots of water is important. Will be taking a leaf out of your book today - not been drinking enough for a few days! Thanks very much for the supportive comments - read them to dp and he liked the encouragement.

Onceuponatimethen · 04/05/2020 06:53

Today’s plan here!

Food:

Breakfast- fruit
Lunch - veg soup, salad bits and a slice of bread
Dinner - boiled eggs and veg

Exercise - morning kiddie workouts with the dds - probably Andy’s Wild ones from CBeebies plus some silly dancing from YouTube - 3k steps

We have some school PE challenges to do so will do those with both dds this afternoon - should hopefully be 2k steps

2k incidental steps just walking around, tidying, cleaning etc.

Will walk around chatting to family For an hour on phone In the evening- should be 2.5k steps

recklessgran · 04/05/2020 08:22

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 12 st 5lbs
Today 12 st 2.5lbs
Gosh, not sure what happened there but that's a loss of 2.5lbs since last Monday and a whopping 3.5lbs since Friday when my May start weight was 12st 6lbs.
Obviously very happy with that and interesting that it coincides with me going back to drinking my 2 litres a day. I stopped the water in lockdown as I'd run out and couldn't get any so was drinking black coffee instead and definitely not 2 litres of it. The water here is so heavily chlorinated that it tastes vile so nobody drinks it unless flavoured with something. Either way, I'm very happy and so pleased to have finally passed the 2 stone loss mark. Keep drinking the water folks!
Have a good day all.

Eesha · 04/05/2020 08:36

Morning all!

So I tried keto ing yesterday and my scales finally moved from 87.4 to 86.6. It's been so long since they actually moved so I'm really quite surprised! It's only probably 1lb but still, and has made me more inclined to stick with things.

Today will be pineapple for breakfast, scrambled egg for lunch and then curry with cauliflower rice for dinner.

howsoonisnow85 · 04/05/2020 08:44

Morning all, will join in for some moral support! Ive lost about 0.5 stone since Feb when had DD but want to up weightloss now & hopefully lose another 0.5 this month. In the past Ive found that I have to cut calories significantly to lose any weight- down to about 800 calories a day. Im going to try some fasting I think. Wish me luck! Confused

CarrotPuff · 04/05/2020 09:09

Morning!

Welcome @howsoonisnow85 ! Congrats on new baby!

Thanks for the water tip @recklessgran it definitely helps with shifting weight! I find it harder to remember to drink it at home though.

Well the scales have finally moved but in the wrong direction Confused so I'm 1lb up this morning. We've done lots of walking yesterday though (over 22k 😱) so hopefully it's just a temporary blip, although it was a bit snack heavy i have to admit. Back at it today.

Plan for today:

L: salmon salad
D: leftover chicken curry with rice

Lots of tea and water.

Onceuponatimethen · 04/05/2020 09:24

@CarrotPuff don't forget if you up exercise sometimes you see a little weight gain as you put muscle

JessJonesJumps · 04/05/2020 09:51

I'm up 0.6lbs which I guess is the reward for eating mini cakes and nice rolls over the weekend.
Trying to get back on top of it this week but snowed under with work which doesn't usually translate to my best decision-making regarding food.

GetTheStartyParted · 04/05/2020 09:57

Morning, well done @recklessgran definitely a good reminder to make sure I drink plenty of water.

@Eesha that's a great start, well done Star Unfortunately pineapple isn't ok on keto, the sugar and carb content is too high. General rule for fruit is a small amount of berries.

Weigh in day for me, I've stayed the same since my Friday end of month weigh in, so that's 2lb this week.

Plan today,
B: Strawberries and yoghurt
L: tuna salad
D: Roast beef with mushrooms and I'm going to try roasting some radishes as I've seen it suggested, I have no idea if they will be edible Grin
