Hello my lovely losers and welcome to the April edition of lose 7lbs/3kg per month!

Previous thread here :) Lose 7lbs/3kg a month - The March Thread http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3835693-lose-7lbs-3kg-a-month-the-march-thread

All are welcome regardless of how much you want to lose or what method you are following.

All I ask for is the amazing support and positivity I see every month from this absolutely amazing little corner of mumsnet.

Obviously things are going to be a bit weird this month. If your goal is just to maintain then that's absolutely fine. Stick with us, share your plans, recipes, hopes and achievements. Share your good days and your down days. Chat is not limited to just dieting and food. You regulars have kept me going this last few weeks!!

Anyway, enough mushy stuff! See you all tomorrow for start of the month weigh in!!!

Much love and stay safe! ❤️❤️

Thanks very much for starting the April thread @cricketmum84 Flowers

Here’s to:

April showers
Maybe a few koko rainbows
Supporting each other in lockdown
And even some losses or just holding our weight

Think we are all champions to be keeping going in this unusual April Star

I’ve named changed but I am back. Two weeks off and I haven’t put on any weight. I am fine with food but I am used to being so active and homeschooling is not working for that!!
Also the may holiday I was working towards looks like it’s off 100% so hard to keep my momentum up.

I'll join too please! Lockdown could go either way so I need to keep myself in check :)

Me!! I'm so bloody anxious and depressed about it all, it would be great to use this time for something positive and to eat well and exercise.

I've got about a stone to lose and I really need to tone up.

What exercise is everyone doing? It's going to be hard to fit it in around wfh and home schooling but I have lots of extra time now without commuting and after school clubs. I just need to curb the evening snacking...

Checking in! Here’s to April! I tried to buy a treat chocolate which I don’t react to (don’t handle sugar or sweeteners well but this is free of both), thought why not, well obviously they’ve now totally sold out - seems there has been a sudden rush pre-Easter - so at the very least that keeps me in order Grin

Hoping for another 5lb loss this month at least, that would be great! I’m only 2lb away from my initial goal Shock but need to lose 7lb to get into the top end of the healthy range. But amazed I’m where I am already since starting in October!

Loss so far: 33lb / 2 stone 5lb / 15kg
Goal: lose another 7lb initially to take me to 140lb, longer term down to maybe 130lb (depends on whatever I can achieve!)

Took so long to type last post (distractions!) that I’ve crossed with loads of new joiners - so hi and welcome! This is a friendly and positive bunch here Smile

I have done precisely zero exercise so far @simplekindoflife but I like the Pilates and strengthening videos on Fitness Blender (of course it’s the space and time that’s tricky!), and am considering getting the kids and me to do Joe Wicks... Confused even his PE videos have lunges! Shock I don’t think my children have ever lunged! Grin

Simplekindoflife I treadmill every day, then do arm weights, pushups and sit-ups . Have been doing this for about a year as I was getting so stiff and could hardly get out of the car without leaning heavily on the door. Walking everyday (fast) has made me normal again and much less of the "oooofs" when getting up out of chairs.

I'm finding the current situation and lack of routine has thrown me off course and I've been comfort eating for the last week Blush
I have lost over two stone since summer and have less than a stone left to go. I am determined to get back on track and need encouragement.
I eat two sensible meals a day and allow myself treats (wine and chocolate) at the weekend. I also do a water fast once a week and did go swimming twice a week and once to the gym. Now I'm enjoying walks, but have been too scared to try an online exercise routine. I'm not very coordinated and think I'd end up damaging something Confused

Hi everyone, thanks for the thread cricket ! just checking in for April. Aiming for 7lbs loss but since I've spent most of tonight eating fruit and nut chocolate and a mini crunchie, and longing for cake, I'll be happy with any loss at all.

Checking in! Thanks so much for the new thread I love doing this weight loss journey with you lot!
Starting April at 64.4kg which is just over 11 kilos lighter than my starting weight on the 1st Jan. I'm a 16:8-er.
My personal goal for April is just 1kg off as this takes me to 10 stone. More realistic what with being stuck at home with my kids....

Thanks for the new thread @cricketmum84.

I dropped off the March thread what with sickness and the current situation. However I’m now feeling better and want to undo all the damage from comfort-eating.

It feels pretty hard-core dieting in lockdown!

Hi guys- I was here last August/September time and did quite well, until a stressful event knocked me a bit of course. The last few weeks have been horrible and I have piled it all back on Sad. Can I rejoin? Aiming just to stay the same or go down a pound or two, given the circumstances! 10.7 today.

Hi @Egghead68 welcome back - hope you are feeling much better now. It’s amazing what this thread can achieve in lock down!!

Hi @Tanaqui I’m really sorry you’ve had a stressful experience. Sometimes it’s all you can do to tread water and keep going. I hope April will be a good month for you.

Food plan for us today:

Breakfast = grapefruit
Lunch = veg soup and salad
Dinner = steak and veg

I've never done a weight loss thread before, do we weigh in/update on a certain day each week?

I'm trying to avoid chocolate today. I can't stop picking at sugary things and it's making my skin break out despite not wearing make up atm.

What are people eating for snacks?

Morning my lovelies and welcome to April!

Stats for me are:

Starting weight: 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 2lbs
Loss for March: 2lbs
Loss so far: 7 stone
Target for April: 17st 9lbs (7lbs off)

Food plan is:
B - satsuma
L - chopped salad with feta and olives
D - cauliflower curry

@ploughingthrough 11kgs since Jan is so good!

@Egghead68 so glad you are feeling better :) I'm trying not to think of it as dieting. I find it's a better mindset to think I'm eating as healthily as possible to keep my body healthy enough to fight this horrible virus. Half tub of ice cream though 😂 living the dream 😂

Am sorry about the stress @Tanaqui and it's lovely to see you back on the thread.

Welcome @simplekindoflife! Just weigh in whenever you like. Some of us weigh weekly, some daily. I'm trying to stick to every other day. For snacks I try stuck to fruit and veg. Working from home I like to keep a bag of grapes next to me and usually have satsumas in and plenty of carrots for carrot sticks and hummous. Although I've run out of hummous now :(

Thanks for starting the new thread @cricketmum84
As I said in the last thread, I’m not sure where I’m at right now, as no access to scales (none at home, weekly weigh-ins are done at work - now looking like I won’t be back there until September!!!). I’m going to have to buy a set to have at home, there is no way I’m going to lose this final half stone (probably now more like 10 pounds!) if I haven’t got scales to keep me accountable! So I’ll order some from Amazon soon, even though I do feel bad for ordering a non-essential delivery.
I have been snacking on junk like mad. Really need to just get back on it. On the plus side, I have been doing 20 mins of exercise each day, so that’s something. But 1st April seems like a good place to reset myself, so I’ll be putting some more effort in!
Good luck everyone, and keep safe and well.

Let's hope we all have a good losing month, despite the craziness going on around us.
