Completely off the wagon today.

However on most days I'm in a large deficit and I'm starting to think my body needs some more calories to kick start it after having a big loss one week

I should also be stood in a field watching most of my favourite bands with my best friends today so I'm compensating by having a day off and having a Spotify party with added vodka ha

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 19:48

@WhatALearningCurve yeah it's been a weird old day here too. I slept from 12-4.30 while DH was out dismantling the shed. Then woke up and had 2 slices of freshly delivered granary load with mushroom pate and now don't want to eat anything. Might have a banana or some cherries later but I have no interest in food today.

Oh dear, I ate well today and walked the baby out for an hour... and then ate 2 slices of very sickly flapjack which my partner made today. Seems I'm not alone in having a treat.

Run tomorrow to make up for it Smile

recklessgran · 23/05/2020 21:42

Good evening everyone. Tuna mayo and cherry tomatoes for lunch and pork chop and stir fry for dinner. I've had sugar free jelly and raspberries and 2 squares of dark chocolate as a treat whilst watching BGT.
@cricketmum84 well done on your loss and I hope you feel better soon - I think it's the shingles that is affecting you - it's a horrible virus that takes some time to get over so I'm not surprised you are out of sorts. I hope you feel better soon and get to see your parents - I've decided to give my mum a socially distanced visit tomorrow. She's 87 and I'm worried that she is losing the plot as she's been locked up for so long now. I'm going there tomorrow and she's so excited. It's really hard isn't it? I'm going to use my common sense and am doing what I know in my heart is the right thing.
@JessJonesJumps your lunch sounds fabulous - right up my street. I'm still managing to behave but will be lucky to have a loss on Monday which is my official weigh day. Still longing to get into the 11's like you. KOKO everyone!

GetTheStartyParted · 24/05/2020 10:15

Another day of feeling sorry for myself here, day 15 of my period and it's so bad today Sad

Still kept to my diet but I'm so fed up. DH is currently cooking me some breakfast, I'm out of action for the day.

Enjoy your visits to family those who are having them. My dad is coming to pick up a bed for my DSis as her boyfriend has left and we have a spare one. So I will have a quick catch up with Dad today. I've missed him.

I work with DSis one day a week so we have our break at the same time and have a socially distant cuppa and catch up at work.

Food plan today -
Breakfast : I think is bacon, mushrooms and cheese, will find out when DH delivers it to me on the sofa!
Lunch : probably nothing but 2 slices of ham, if I'm hungry, and some cucumber.
Dinner : cajun steaks with cauliflower cheese or celeriac chips.

cricketmum84 · 24/05/2020 12:52

Oh no that sounds rubbish @GetTheStartyParted! I've been on the mini pill for the last 5 years and haven't had one period in all that time. I remember how shit they used to make me feel though. Is 25 days normal for you?

Yes @recklessgran you are probably right, I think the shingles has floored me a bit. I'm so tired all the time and just have no interest in anything. Half shingles half lockdown maybe?

Haven't eaten anything yet. I had put cauli cheese bake on the meal plan but I just don't have the enthusiasm to actually make it let alone eat it. Might have some cherries in a bit and reevaluate once I have some energy. Right now I'm going to curl up with a good book and my lovely purring fluffball cat.

@GetTheStartyParted, that sounds horrible and totally draining physically and mentally I'm sure. Can you account for the length of your period? Flowers
I'm doing okay here. Technically edged into a 6lb loss for the month so far so need to be extra good this week and hopefully I can hit the target by next weekend.

GetTheStartyParted · 24/05/2020 14:25

Thanks @cricketmum84 and @Onesmallstep67 since starting this diet they have been a bit heavier and longer but not this bad. Hoping they settled down soon. It's the only negative of keto for me but it's a pretty major drawback.

I hope you're managing to rest and look after yourself, sounds like your energy levels are depleted, cricketmum84 Flowers

That's a good loss Onesmallstep67 I'm sure you'll make the 7lb for this month!

cricketmum84 · 24/05/2020 16:18

Lovely DH has noticed how knackered I am and has just put a Linda McCartney country pie in the oven for me to have with mushy peas and 2 roast potatoes cooked separately from the meaty ones he is doing for him and the kids. Not really diet food but my body is crying out for carbs. He said to keep reading my book and snuggling with the cat while he sorts everything.

Think I married one of the good ones ❤️

grumpyorange · 24/05/2020 16:28

@cricketmum84 hope you feel better soon. Does sound like you've got a good one there though!

Gammon in coke tonight. Surprisingly not many calories at all but very very tasty!!!!

JessJonesJumps · 24/05/2020 17:48

@cricketmum84 your DH sounds like a star. Enjoy your book and your dinner Flowers
@grumpyorange I've always meant to try gammon in coke but then I forget. Is there a particular recipe you'd recommend?
By some complete and utter fluke, my weight was down today. I'm sure it will be back up tomorrow since I've just had home-made pizza for lunch.

grumpyorange · 24/05/2020 17:53

@JessJonesJumps we do ours in the slow cooker.

For a 750g gammon we put 2 cans of full fat coke in for low on 8 hours. It does us over 2 days. It falls apart in your mouth!

Onceuponatimethen · 24/05/2020 20:50

Ahhh your dh sounds lovely @cricketmum84

I’ve just finished a lush but not very diet-y bbq! Halloumi skewers and chicken kebabs!!

I did work up to it with only fruit for breakfast and veg soup for lunch with half a slice of bread, so hoping to STS! Scales said 75.5 yesterday! I really want to see 74, but that will be a project for June Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 24/05/2020 20:50

75.5 today! Not yesterday!

rollerkiwicat · 25/05/2020 03:28

Hi, joining you, better late than never, I have 21lb to lose. Need to reeducate myself as to what healthy is.

SconNotScone · 25/05/2020 08:29

Official weigh day for me today, and I am thrilled to see the scales at exactly 10 stone! I can hardly believe it! That’s a loss of 2.75lb this week, which I think must have been period related, because I don’t think I would normally have managed to lose that amount. 10st was my original goal, but I think I will do a little more - I want a buffer of a few lbs.

@cricketmum84 hope today is a better day for you - your husband sounds lovely, I’m glad he looked after you yesterday!

@MonicaBingaling I definitely get bloated during ovulation! I can literally feel my lower abdomen expand, it’s a really weird sensation.

@Onceuponatimethen your bbq sounds amazing, we are having one today as well. I think it is going to involve sausages, steak and chicken kebabs - I will try not to go mad 😂

@grumpyorange I love love love gammon, but have never actually cooked it in coke, so will have to try that one!

@JessJonesJumps fingers crossed your homemade pizza doesn’t have too much impact on your loss this week!

@rollerkiwicat welcome to the thread. Definitely better late than never! You will get lots of tips here and everyone is really supportive. Good luck!

WhatALearningCurve · 25/05/2020 08:48

@rollerkiwicat welcome! Never too late to join!

@sconnotscone congratulations! Can I ask what weight you started at and your height? 10 stone was my target (I'm 5ft 4) but now changed it to 9 stone 7 because I want the buffer.

Official weigh day today. 11 stone 12.5. A gain of 1.3 lbs. BUT I had a really big weekend of alcohol and food and I've woke up this morning feeling so crampy - came off the pill 2 months ago to help the weight loss so I shouldn't really be due in for another week or so but I feel like I'm about to have a really heavy period.

I've got no guilt about this weekend. I had a great time of zoom calls and self indulgence and it was worth the 1lb. That mindset definitely makes a change from previous attempts at weight loss. Today is a new day and going to try extra hard this week - especially if period is on its way

GetTheStartyParted · 25/05/2020 08:54

Welcome @rollerkiwicat

@SconNotScone that's amazing well done Star

@WhatALearningCurve that's a small gain for what sounds like a great weekend, you'll soon lose that!

Weigh in day here too, only 1lb lost this week despite being really good BUT that takes me to a milestone... I've lost 3 stone! Woohoo!

GetTheStartyParted · 25/05/2020 08:55

I've also started an Instagram page showing meals and progress photos if anyone is interested? I thought it might make me feel more accountable Smile

SconNotScone · 25/05/2020 09:05

@WhatALearningCurve it sounds like you have had a really enjoyable weekend, and that is so important! Sometimes having fun with friends and engaging in the social aspect of eating and drinking is more important than what the scales say for a week.
You asked about my starting weight and height. I’m 5ft6, my start weight was 12stone, so this is 2 stone off exactly, since the beginning of January.

SconNotScone · 25/05/2020 09:07

Thank you and well done @GetTheStartyParted, 3 stone is amazing progress!! I’d love to see your insta page!

GetTheStartyParted · 25/05/2020 09:18

Thanks Smile its kp.keto

recklessgran · 25/05/2020 09:18

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 12st 1.75lbs
Today 12 st 1.25lbs
So that's only half a pound off this week for me. Definitely more OMADs and water drinking planned here. I'm hoping to finally make the 11's before the end of the month.
@SconNotScone I'm really pleased for you - that's amazing to reach your goal, you must feel so chuffed.
@GetTheStartyParted 3 stone is brilliant that is such a massive milestone. I hope you have a treat planned?
@rollerkiwicat you're very welcome here - the more the merrier! We'll all shove up so you can join us on our virtual sofa for chat and support.
Beautiful sunshine here so planning to get out in the garden as much as possible today. I'm spending far too much time [and money] internet shopping. Have a great day everyone.

GetTheStartyParted · 25/05/2020 09:31

Thanks @recklessgran half a pound is in the right direction too, fingers crossed for the 11s for you.

I have only lost 4lbs so far this month so hoping I can drop at least two this week.

I had chicken instead of the steak last night so I will celebrate with steak and a beautiful mushroom sauce, followed by strawberries and cream for dinner tonight Grin
