Just weighed and I’m down to 75.4, so going in the right direction back down to 75! Four days to lose .4kg so hopefully I can do that within May.

Plan for today:

Brek = tinned fruit as we’ve totally run out of fresh and Ocado not coming until tomorrow

Lunch = low cal veg soup

Dinner = eggs and salad again!

Exercise going to try to get to 10k steps like I did yesterday and the day before - more silly dancing and kiddie workouts with the dds and then some walking around.

cricketmum84 · 27/05/2020 08:02

Morning all, only a few days left of May. This year is absolutely flying! Down to 17.10 this morning so only 1lb for me to hit target this month. Surely I can do that before Sunday?

Didn't end up eating my planned meal last night. By the time I had cooked up all the sausages and bacon for everyone and veggie sausages for DD I was so hot I couldn't eat.

Plan for today is:
L - will reheat the tomatoes and asparagus from last night and add an egg
D - small piece of white fish and mushy peas

BBQ sounds good @recklessgran, am hoping DH will bbq this weekend but he's so busy in the garden at the moment I'm not holding out too much hope.

@ishouldtryabiteachday fingers crossed for the loss! You are doing well to even lose 1lb a week during all this going on.

I slept like a baby last night @Onceuponatimethen, I took some painkillers before bed and had the windows wide open for some cool air and was much more comfortable thanks :)

Don't be so hard on yourself @MonicaBingaling the scales aren't the be all and end all especially if you are exercising a lot and potentially building muscle. Definitely measure as well as weighing as I bet your body shape is changing. Hope the migraine has cleared this morning.

Have a great day everyone! Onwards and downwards!

@HundredYearOldMan well done that's awesome! And @cricketmum84 I'm sure you'll make that target. An achievable target before sunday. You've all done so well.

I did 12k steps yesterday and 40 mins on my static bike. Couldn't get out too far in the evening as I'm on call for work so have to be close.

Same reason I didnt get my morning walk. Itll have to be this evening.

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: left over crustless quiche
Dinner: maybe poached eggs on toast?

The OH isnt here this eve which normally means I eat less as hes a bit eater with a physic job so I always make more food (and then feel the need to eat it!)

Hope everyone has a great day

Onesmallstep67 · 27/05/2020 10:08

Morning everyone and well done on sticking with things. I am far from an expert but generally it seems that some days without rhyme or reason our bodies just do what they want. I haven't been massively strict with myself yet my weight is continuing to drop. Edging on the 7lbs for May. I have been doing some walking and time on my exercise bike though and at the moment that seems to be helping.
I have been filling up on lots of salad and drinking plenty of water. Need to make headway over the summer as the winter months proved to be trickier last year.

HundredYearOldMan · 27/05/2020 17:00

Thanks @Onceuponatimethen, @cricketmum84 and @Irishstout - by the way I have had poached eggs on toast the last 2 nights and really enjoyed it so I would recommend it!

@Onesmallstep67 well done, 7lbs in May is great, especially if you haven’t been too strict. Maybe your good habits are becoming ingrained! I hope my new habits/mindset can last, I feel good about it but then again I have lost weight a couple of times in the past and then put it all on again and more. One thing I haven’t learned is how to sustain this!

JessJonesJumps · 27/05/2020 17:35

I'm feeling very grumpy. I was doing so well this month and was on track to get to 12stone exactly (with a realistic hope of getting into the 11s) and now it's TOTM and I've suddenly jumped up 3.5lbs in 3 days Angry Trying to channel my anger into OMAD rather than eating everything in sight.

recklessgran · 27/05/2020 18:47

Afternoon all - @JessJonesJumps I'm grumpy too as my weight is up again this morning even though I was super good yesterday. I'm imagining it's the fall out from Monday's BBQ. I'm pretty certain there is no chance of me making the 11's this month. It will be a loss though, so for now, I'll take that as a victory.
Food for today. Ham salad for lunch and sausages and runner beans for dinner. II'll be going out for a walk round the village with DD1 and her wheels this evening. [Actually, it's more of a short stroll bless her - she's got a pink pedometer and tries to get it to 3000 steps each day.]
@Onesmallstep67 you have done amazingly well this month and so have you @HundredYearOldMan and MonicaBingaling! There are some great losses going on despite all the lockdown turmoil. @CricketMum84 that's a great loss too - you ought to be so proud of yourself especially as you've been having to deal with shingles as well. Hope everybody has been able to make the most of the beautiful weather.

Onceuponatimethen · 28/05/2020 06:34

Just got on the scales and weirdly it’s now saying 74.8! That means I’ve lost everything I put back on mid month and am progressing down again. Very pleased as 74kg is my goal for June, so if I stay committed for the next three days feel like I’m ending May in good shape.

Dp was really pleased when he weighed yesterday and found he’s at 79.9. That means I think he’s lost at least 18 kilos and may even be 19 kilos since he started in mid December. Very proud Smile

Onceuponatimethen · 28/05/2020 06:42

@cricketmum84 hope you had another better nights of sleep.

@Irishstout sounds like you are going really great guns on the exercise

@Onesmallstep67 so true about bodies just sometimes doing what they want. Can’t quite understand why suddenly I’m down to 74.8!

@HundredYearOldMan Poached eggs sound yum! On maintaining weight, there is a really good bit in the book dp and I have been following the Professor Roy Taylor book which is called Life Without Diabetes. We have a massive family history of diabetes and I suspect dp was pre-diabetic when we started this. The book explains how marked weight loss can reverse diabetes in 90% of people but says that maintenance of weight requires planning. It recommends long term portion control and regular weighing to ensure any movement from target weight is immediately corrected by a return to strict dieting.

@JessJonesJumps and @recklessgran really sorry you are feeling grumpy. I gained a whole kg and a bit mid month without much rhyme or reason and it has finally come off. I’m sure yours will drop off too.

SconNotScone · 28/05/2020 08:14

Morning all. I seem to be pretty much staying the same so far this week. My daughter has been begging for fish and chips for ages, and the mobile chip van has returned to the village this week, so we have agreed we’ll have some tonight. I will have a small portion of something. She is only 6, but I don’t like drawing attention to the fact that I’m “dieting”, by having too many different meals, or completely refusing to eat food she knows full well I like. So I will go by my usual motto of “a little of what you fancy” and accept that with Monday’s bbq and fish and chips today, I probably won’t see much of a loss this week! I have been missing breakfast a bit this week to try and make up for it a bit, but we’ll see. Really I need to get back to exercising, I just want the gym to safely open!!

SconNotScone · 28/05/2020 08:19

Well done @Onceuponatimethen on your loss, sounds like you’re working really well towards that goal! And @cricketmum84 and @Onesmallstep67 as well, so close to end of the month goals!

Sorry you’ve both been feeling grumpy @JessJonesJumps and @recklessgran. Hoping something shifts for you soon. And hope you are enjoying the good weather, being able to enjoy the outdoors where possibly definitely is making me feel better on my grumpier days!

Ticklemeelmo · 28/05/2020 08:22

Morning all

Weigh in day this morning and I'm down 1lb since last week to 10 stone 5, happy with that. Well done to all the losses this week!

Irishstout · 28/05/2020 08:54

Well done @Ticklemeelmo it's so motivating seeing the scales go down. @jessjonesjumps dont worry about it too much, I always gain during that time I'm sure it will come off after its just bloating. Try not to let it get to you.

@Onceuponatimethen I have always been fairly fit (even if a bit fat!) And I enjoy exercising. It just gets easier to do if I'm slimmer!

Tried to do a long dog walk this morning but he wasnt keen - we went late last night and hes a bit old these days so I think he had enough. Got a couple of thousands steps though which is better than nothing. Only managed 8k steps yesterday, it shows me how much of a difference being busy at work is. If I'm busy I hit the 10k easy but not and I struggle. Must work on that. I did an 18k bike ride though and went up some horrible hills so I hope that made up for it. I did some baking for work and i think most of the icing i ate rather than went on the cakes CakeBlushBlush

Oh well. Today porridge for breakfast, something egg based for lunch (I have a whole tray that need using) and maybe a chilli jacket for dinner.

Onesmallstep67 · 28/05/2020 10:05

Thank you for the shout outs and lovely words of encouragement. I am hopeful of tipping into 7lb loss although this is still very much getting rid of my terrible lockdown regain of weight I had already lost once this year !
I didn't eat enough yesterday evening and spent the night feeling hungry. I am in admiration of those of you surviving on so little food or OMAD. I am of the @SconNotScone school of thinking - a little of what you fancy- I definitely wouldn't be able to stick at it if it felt too much like a strict regime of deprivation.
KOKO losers ! Wink

WhatALearningCurve · 28/05/2020 11:35

Morning!

I've no what my bodies doing but I'm not complaining. After Monday's gain I was 11 st 8.5 this morning. Which is a loss of 4lb since Monday. No idea what's causing the big drops but trying to enjoy it and be strict with myself this week because if I could end the month on 11 stone 7 I would be over the moon.

10st 6 is the very top of my BMI being healthy so if I can end May on 11 7, 10 7 is achievable in my eyes by the end of July.

I know I won't have this level of motivation when lockdown ends and I've got it in my head that temptation will be rife in August if things are eased up over the next 2 months. So if I can at least enter August and not be in the overweight band I'll be a happy woman. I don't think I've ever not been classed as overweight!

MonicaBingaling · 28/05/2020 11:52

So I weighed myself after a week and I’ve lost a grand total of half a pound 😭

Not ideal when I’ve been working SOOO hard! 😫😫 i feel so close to giving up but I’m sticking with it!

I just can’t understand why it’s coming off so slow when I’ve been eating 1300-1400 healthy cals a day (mainly protein, fruit/veg and hardly any carbs) and doing my exercises every morning. My steps always above 10,000 a day.

Thank you so much @cricketmum84 , @Onceuponatimethen and @recklessgran for your kind words of encouragement! Hope you are all doing well ❤️

grumpyorange · 28/05/2020 12:16

Weigh in day today! 2.6lbs this week!

As it's my last official one for may it's a total of 12lbs lost since the start of the month!

Well done to everyone else!

HundredYearOldMan · 28/05/2020 17:08

Thanks @Onceuponatimethen I’ll need to check that book out.

Wow @grumpyorange that’s an amazing amount for a month! Well done.

Some great losses. Looking forward to June already!

SconNotScone · 28/05/2020 21:11

Well done on good losses so far this week!! @MonicaBingaling keep the faith, it will happen suddenly I’m sure!!!

I had my fish and chips this evening (Actually battered sausage, probably about 100 times worse than having fish!). Skipped breakfast and had a super light lunch in preparation. It was nice enough, but it completely triggered my IBS, and within about 15 mins of eating it, I was sat on the loo 😭 maybe that means I didn’t actually absorb that many calories though, haha. All in all, nice but probably not worth the pain!

cricketmum84 · 28/05/2020 21:27

Evening all! No change in weight today. I'm having one of those weeks where I have no interest in food so I've eaten very little today. IBS is quite bad so I cancelled the planned Chinese takeaway as I know it will make it so much worse. Just had a bread roll with some butter and cheese spread on. Hoping for a drop once the inflammation settles again.

I do love poached eggs @HundredYearOldMan, DD (11) has gone veggie with me and eggs are her fave veggie protein so good shout for something we can cook and eat together.

@JessJonesJumps positivity lady 😍 TOTM is a bitch for increasing weight a little but you know it will come back off again once you get through the other side. Onwards and downwards ❤️

Well done @Onceuponatimethen and Mr Once!! Excellent work from you both!! Yes sleep is much more forthcoming with the painkillers and open windows. I can't believe I'm still in pain with this! It's been well over a month now :(

@SconNotScone yep unfortunately gyms are going to be one of the last things to open and even then it will be cautiously. I work for a national gym chain and everyone furloughed is so desperate to get back to work!

Excellent work @Ticklemeelmo!

@WhatALearningCurve haha don't question it lol, just go with it :) amazing loss well done!

You are still going in the right direction @MonicaBingaling even if it seems slow. Weight loss just sometimes goes through these stages. Just keep going ❤️

@SconNotScone I am exactly the same whenever I eat pastry, fried food or takeaway. Within 15 mins am on the loo. Not fair is it :(

MonicaBingaling · 29/05/2020 09:35

@SconNotScone I hope your tummy is feeling better this morning , IBS is the absolute worst I suffer too. Sending hugs 🤗 xxx

MonicaBingaling · 29/05/2020 10:12

Morning everyone! Feeling a lot better today. The scales have finally moved and this week I’ve lost almost 2 pounds! (1 and 3 quarters to be precise but I’m rounding it up to 2!

Friday is my usual weigh in today so I’m feeling in a good mood for the weekend now! I never thought I would lose the 7lbs for May but I’m so glad and not only that I’ve now moved into the 10’s finally! (Only just)

This means I’m the lowest weight I’ve been since over 5 years ago which is mad!

My goal for June however is going to be less than 7lbs though as typically my body seems to lose 1 pound a week.

Wishing everyone a great weekend, and well done to all the losses. Stay strong if scales haven’t moved they Will eventually just keep going

SconNotScone · 29/05/2020 16:51

I’m ok now thank you @MonicaBingaling! Thankfully when I get an attack it is usually short lived. Congrats on your loss this week, see, didn’t we all say it would happen!!

JessJonesJumps · 29/05/2020 18:32

Sorry I've not been here for a few days. Home schooling, DM is ill again and I've been trying to get some sun. I'll go back and catch up now.

recklessgran · 29/05/2020 20:36

Evening all, sorry been a bit absent - crazy busy workwise as well as trying to make the most of the weather. I've been doing O.K. and my weight this morning was finally back to the same as it was on Monday's weigh day. I'm wondering if I'm going to manage a loss by Monday or not.
Tuesday is DD2's birthday so we'll be having a socially distanced BBQ for that I think. Will put DGD's paddling pool right down the bottom of the garden in the hope that it helps her to forget that granny can't give her a big cuddle. [I'm personally finding all this very difficult I must say but trying to obey the rules as per doctor DD4's instructions.]
Love reading how everyone is getting on - there are some stunning losses but sadly not from me at the moment. well done all!
