@cricketmum84 weather was lovely yesterday wasn’t it? In a way I’m relieved it’s slightly cooler here today. Very partial to a. Iced mojito! I nearly broke yesterday and had a lovely iced g&t but decided to stick to my no alcohol rule for this month in the end

Onceuponatimethen · 22/05/2020 11:27

@JessJonesJumps great compliments! You are clearly doing amazingly Star

Weird that because of the lockdown no one has physically seen me since I lost 10kg!!

GetTheStartyParted · 22/05/2020 11:30

Thanks @Onceuponatimethen I'm doing 18:6 fasting today and tomorrow in the hope that it gives me a boost, I would do OMAD but my DH frets and ends up cooking for me if I try Grin

I like reading through the posts and the encouragement offered so usually only post when I feel positive to keep it upbeat.

recklessgran · 22/05/2020 14:20

Afternoon all. I've just been for a walk round the village - it's very windy here so it did me good to blow the cobwebs away. My weight seems stuck but I'm just going to keep going. I'm not expecting a loss this week when I weigh on Monday but I blame the snackcidents for that. [Looking at you - 2 late night slices of toast and marmite and 4 digestive biscuits.]
Never mind. I'm OMAD today to try to mitigate my transgressions. Pork chop and roast veg for dinner. I've just taken some raspberries out of the freezer to have for my dessert with a pot of sugar free jelly. Gosh, I know how to enjoy myself.
I too love reading about how everyone's getting on. It's definitely helping me to stay on the wagon so thanks all!

SneakersandSocks · 22/05/2020 21:03

Hi @Ticklemeelmo
It’s good to hear from you, we all have bad days, you’ve still been for a few runs, that’s better then nothing.
I’ve had a mixed week, a few good days, followed by a few not so good!
I’ve only lost 1 lb but I’m ok with that.
My DC is teething at the mo, bless her, she’s up every few hours in the night, we are all abit sleep deprived! I find it harder to eat better when I’m tired.

cricketmum84 · 22/05/2020 21:34

Evening all. It's finally the weekend!! Whoop!

Weighed in at 17.11 this morning so keeping everything crossed it's the same (or lower!!!) tomorrow!

Today I've had a coconut iced latte and a leftover portion of yesterday's leek carbonara which came out as 3 ww points per portion.

Well done on the loss @grumpyorange that's fantastic :) I get sleepy if I have my main meal in the afternoon rather than an evening to be honest. I really don't tend to eat much during the day.

Another good loss @MonicaBingaling well done :)

@PlanetSlattern it's my birthday coming up in a few weeks and I fully intend to derail. Glad you had a lovely time. It's once a year so enjoy yourself!!

@Ploughingthrough hello Singapore :) you are so close now. I hope you stay with us while you maintain :) would be good to keep hearing from you!

@Onceuponatimethen I much prefer the cooler weather, DH keeps joking I'm going through the change Cos I'm so flipping hot all the time!! I'm only 35!!

Just about to have my Friday nighty treat of a large white wine and a little bag of smiths scampi fries 😂😂

Official weigh in tomorrow!!

Thanks @cricketmum84

I’m really struggling tonight. I feel so bloated and I don’t understand why 😢

Been so healthy the last 2 days. This morning scales said I lost another quarter of a pound so was happy

But then tonight I’m so bloated and up another 2 pounds. I had a healthy salad tonight so should not be bloated and not due on my period or anything

Feel very rubbish and horrible about myself 😓

WhatALearningCurve · 23/05/2020 07:11

@monicabingaling don't take what the scales say at night as a reflection of your weight. I can easily be 4 or 5 lb heavier at the end of a day compared to the start of it

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 07:53

Same here @WhatALearningCurve. I can easily be 314lbs heavier on a night vs a morning.

Sending you positive thoughts @MonicaBingaling. You are doing amazing and especially to keep on track during all this shit that's going on. ❤️❤️❤️

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 07:53

3-4 lol not 314!! My fingers are still fat....

@cricketmum84 that's just really made me laugh 🤣

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 08:16

Haha it's too early still 😂😂

SconNotScone · 23/05/2020 08:29

🤣@cricketmum84 that really made me laugh. Hope you enjoyed your Friday night treat! Good luck for your official weigh in today, things are looking good based on yesterday!

@MonicaBingaling I agree to ignore whatever the scales say at night time (in fact, don’t even bother weighing any other time than first thing in the morning - before a drink and after a wee, if you’re anything like me!)

I’ve weighed this morning, things are looking good for Monday. I think I can hit my target in another week or two (fingers crossed), but may try for a couple more lb after that as a bit of a safety net.

Hope everyone has a nice day. I am finally going to see my parents today, I haven’t seen them for three months I will have a little walk with my mum, and then sit outside their house to chat to my dad from a distance. Hoping that might perk up my mood a bit!

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 08:32

Official weekly weigh in day for me and I'm down 2lbs since last week and 5lbs for the month so far. Really hope I can meet the 7lbs target! I feel like I've not lost properly in ages so I'm pretty happy with myself at the moment.

Plan for today is:
B - skipping, just having plenty of water, maybe a satsuma
L - cucumber batons, fruit and veg order arriving at 11 so probable some cherries too
D - big salad with a small portion of cheese, ploughman's chutney and oatcakes, pickles, bit like a Boxing Day plate :)

Slightly naughtier day for me with the cheese but I've had a lot of v low cal days so feel like I've earned a bit of a treat!

Looking forward to the lovely long weekend ahead and a stack of murder mystery books and no home schooling 😂

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 08:44

@SconNotScone god I miss my parents so much. I'm so tempted to do the same at some point this weekend. I'm just really scared of someone reporting us or stopping us. We've got a table to take to my sisters who lives next door to my parents so could do it all in one go and then just sit and have a chat from 2 metres away??

OP posts:
SconNotScone · 23/05/2020 09:23

@cricketmum84 it is so hard knowing what is “ok” to do. My parents are about a 40 min drive away, which for me feels about as far as I’d be willing to travel at the moment. I know they won’t let me in the house (which I’m fine with - except slightly worried about if I need the loo!) and in order to stick as close to the rules as possible, I will be only going out with my mum for a walk, so we’re not mixing too many people for too long a period. I guess going and sitting outside with both parents is going against the guidance though, but we will maintain a good distance the whole time.
In your situation, personally, I would go and say hello to them all at once. I know it goes against the guidance. But you’re making the journey anyway, and so long as you’re sensible with distancing.
I won’t be taking my daughter (age 6), which is heartbreaking for everyone, but I just don’t think I can trust her to maintain the right distance and I think it would have potential for her to come away feeling worse. It’s shit really isn’t it?!

cricketmum84 · 23/05/2020 09:51

@SconNotScone it's really hard! My littlies are a bit older (11 and 15) so I can explain to them that we are seeing nana and grandad but must maintain social distancing and they will do that.

I hate this virus so much!!!

Ticklemeelmo · 23/05/2020 10:42

@cricketmum84 well done on the loss, coconut latte is my favourite!

@SconNotScone sure that'll be great to see your family, I miss my parents so much! They're about a 2.5 hour drive away so bit far to just pop over really.

@SneakersandSocks 1lb is still great, definitely hard to stick to healthy eating when you're not getting the sleep you need. I know what you mean about good and bad days!

@JessJonesJumps so are you , so good to have a friendly supportive group.

@MonicaBingaling don't beat yourself up, as others say it's because of the time of day. Always first thing in the morning is best I reckon!

MonicaBingaling · 23/05/2020 10:52

Thanks @WhatALearningCurve @cricketmum84 @SconNotScone i know I shouldn’t take any notice of what the scales say at night and I normally only go off what they say in the morning after a pee.

I’m feeling down this morning as I weighed again and was hoping to lose another pound but I’m still 11.1

Although I’m pleased to lose a pound I was hoping for 2 a week.

I’m wondering can ovulation cause bloating?

Does anyone else only seem to lose 1 pound a week rather than 2 or more?

It makes the journey so slow and I’m so impatient to lose weight and I working so hard

Wishing everyone a lovely bank hol weekend xxx

Onesmallstep67 · 23/05/2020 11:27

Well done everyone on your losses and sticking with it.
I am 5lbs down so far and hoping to get another 2 off before the end of the month. Then June's target would be to get back to seeing 15st on the scales.
For those considering seeing their family I think you should do what feels right. There seems little doubt from your posts that the people on this thread are a thoughtful bunch and you'll all absolutely minimise any risks ( which are pretty small anyway in my opinion ) with outdoors, distanced meetings
Have a wonderful time Smile

WhatALearningCurve · 23/05/2020 12:30

@monicabingaling I had a massive lost last week of about 5lb. This week I seem to be maintaining so I'll be happy with a loss of 1lb. As much as I'd rather lose as much as possible before lockdown ends and temptation is about, I knew 1lb a week probably means a more manageable lifestyle change

TheStirrer · 23/05/2020 12:43

Some great losses this week!

Weigh in day for me and I have stayed the same Sad. Didn’t think I had a bad week so probably need to keep an eye on things a bit more and cut back on the snacking (even if it is within my allowance)....

Think like someone else said “I am feeling the fear“ I always Seem to struggle to get below the 7lb and stone mark....

Anyway onwards and downwards

Onceuponatimethen · 23/05/2020 15:32

Hi everyone! Very quick hi and a confession that the last 24 hour haven’t gone entirely to plan. I’ve had 4 marshmallows, a big burger, bacon for breakfast Hmm

Tried to make up for it since with just a salad and bowl of veg soup for lunch.

Hoping scales won’t be too bad when I get back on to them tomorrow morning! I did weigh today and I was 76 kg. Have been 75 kg so I’m 1kg up on my lightest. Not going to stress and just going to koko and remember what a massive improvement this is since where I started !

PlanetSlattern · 23/05/2020 16:23

@Onceuponatimethen that doesn't sound like a disaster (how on Earth did you stop at four marshmallows?! That sounds superhuman to me). Good plan to turn the day around... though hard.

Louise Parker (who I love) says that if we get sunburned, we don't say, "F*%# it, it's too late now," go out in the midday sun and cover ourselves with oil. She says we shouldn't do the same with our diets either; you go off-piste, you enjoy it, you come back into the "inner circle" again. I think that sounds very sensible.

Easier said than done, of course.

I'm not bothering to weigh myself this weekend as it won't be pretty. Back on track and enjoying the weekend.

  • Chocolate and raspberry oat bran porridge
  • Summery butterbean and vegetable stew with leftover cod, lemon and parsley
  • Chicken and mushroom risotto and a glass of chilled rosé
... is the plan for the day.
JessJonesJumps · 23/05/2020 16:27

Well, my weight was slightly down this morning but I feel like I have eaten all the food today so I think it will be up tomorrow.
My friend and I had a Zoom lunch today. I had ham, cheese, salad, crisps ... and two mini cakes and one very large G&T. It was lovely. If I can manage to keep away from the gin for the rest of the day, I might try some exercise to counteract all the treats ... but it's more likely I won't. Grin
