Fuck, I've literally ate my way through the last four weeks.

I was already a couple of stone overweight and now I've done loads more damage. All I do is eat and then eat some more.

I'm going to sort my shit out starting tomorrow, anyone else want to join me?

Hey çashmere, a lot of that will be bloating. You enjoyed yourself. Get back on plan and don't beat yourself up.

I'm just about to get up. Only two days working from home this week, two days in work. Bit of variety!

JonHammIsMyJamm · 04/05/2020 08:02

Back in the wagon it is then, @cashmerecardigans.

My scales have finally arrived and today is day1 of my period so, as expected, I’ve maintained. Slightly disappointing but to be honest, in real terms that means a small loss as I normally gain a lb or two during this week of my cycle. I’ll add my official weight in Thursday and try to keep a lid on eating in the meantime. That shouldn’t be too difficult as my appetite usually disappears this week. Exercise may be the tricky one this week as I have menorrhagia and so cramps and whatnot put me off. I’m due to run today so will push myself to do that.

Here’s to a strong start to a good week Flowers

Hi everyone. Last few days have not been great, have been in a down mood, no motivation for anything, haven't been sleeping well so not sure if its that or just lockdown in general getting to me. I'm going to force myself to go out for a walk later with DC to clear my head.
Eating hasn't been great. Scoffed a bag of Haribo on Friday night and another on Saturday night. I blame DH for buying them I love haribo. Yesterday I had cereal for breakfast, no lunch & chinese for tea, snacks I had a snickers and a creme egg(stupid shop selling them for 19p I couldn't resist), not bad for me regarding snacks as I would usually have a lot more, I did have a few glasses of fizzy juice though.

cashmerecardigans · 04/05/2020 08:25

@OwlinaTree you’ve really made me think. Actually I didn’t really enjoy it, it was more mindless snacking whilst doing something else, rather than sitting down to enjoy something lovely. So definitely not worth the extra pounds. Maybe the answer is to treat myself occasionally, but make sure I make the most of it when I do.

menthollyinsane · 04/05/2020 08:43

Morning, well I've had a shocking couple of days stuffing my face. I got on the scales earlier and have put on 2lb which takes me back to square one. Hating myself to the max right now.

Anyway, today is a whole new day and I'm going to attempt to get my shit together. I'm feeling so fed up with myself, looking at it logically though, I can change this.

Off to walk the dog soon and hopefully pull myself together.

I was going to just hide from this thread but decided to carry on, the alternative will be to get fatter and I really don't want that.

Happy Monday everyone.

menthol and others who have had a 'bad' few days food-wise, please don't give up! Our eating habits are one thing we have it in our power to change. The important bit is not letting a bad day or two roll into a bad week (or two). I know for me this thread stops that from happening!
Must return to exercise today. Felt absolutely shattered yesterday - nothing would make put the blasted Davina dvd on 🤣 Here's to a positive week to us all!

lovinglavidaloca · 04/05/2020 09:27

Hmm apparently I’ve gained 3lbs this morning. Usually this would really dishearten me but I’m not going to allow it to because I know that this will hopefully mean a bigger loss next week. I’m blaming my period!

Onthebrink67 · 04/05/2020 10:32

Another one who has had a terrible few days and I’m back to where I started. I need to unpick why I eat when I’m not even hungry but in the short term today us a new day and I’m going to stick to 3 meals and no snacks

sushinelove · 04/05/2020 10:35

I'll join the weight on gang! Spent the weekend ramming every form of loveliness in my face. Pound (so far) back on, so Monday motivation it is.

tigerbear · 04/05/2020 10:37

Morning all, hugs to everyone who is feeling a bit low.
It’s so hard to stick to healthy eating even in normal times, but I think in lockdown it’s even harder, as to a certain extent, meal times are the highlight of the day, and snacks/wine/sweets/cake etc are the only real treats we can have.

I’ve done some exercise for the last 3 days, after doing zero for a week.
Horrible to feel my tummy jiggling while I’m running! 😬

menthollyinsane · 04/05/2020 11:28

weight on gang 🤣

Happily my weight looks like it's finally going into the right direction! I've finally given up on weight watchers for good. I know it's just a money making scheme and actually calories and macros are the way to go so I'm now a MyFitnessPal convert! If anyone wants to be buddies, PM me!

Remember, if you're seeing fluctuations from day to day, keep track of the average instead. It's near impossible to gain 4lb of fat overnight so chances are it's your water, food or salt intake and it's short term. Keep at it! Smile

MrsSnitchnose · 04/05/2020 13:11

@lovinglavidaloca It could actually be that! I've read a lot of threads on the mfp forum and there are women on there who say they can weight up to 5 lbs more during their period. It's usually a couple of pounds for me.

To those who have slipped up, it's not the end of the world. Every day is a chance to refocus and get back on track. Losing weight is hard, and you will have setbacks. The important thing is that you get back up and carry on.

The best advice I can give you (from my own journey) is to take each day at a time. Every time you get into bed at night and it has been a good day, will bring you one day closer Flowers

OwlinaTree · 04/05/2020 14:54

Some good advice on here today.

So far today I've had overnight oats, lentil and veg soup, a slice of pastrami, a pear and an apple.

Fish, spuds and veg for tea planned.

MrsSnitchnose · 04/05/2020 15:23

@redavocado I've always said that places like weight watchers and other slimming groups are a waste of time and money! You really need to figure out how to eat yourself, otherwise you will be paying forever to be told what to eat.

Definitely check out the discussions on mfp, there are many knowledgable people among the ranks

ImperfectTents · 04/05/2020 15:36

Nobody should be hating themselves. Rhubarb crumble is delicious, dh made some at the start of this and I was face down within a minute. We are human. I think a lot of folk found this weekend tough, I was fairly gloomy for most of it. I gained a lb over the weekend but am focusing on pulling it back for Thursday.

diege · 04/05/2020 15:55

Interesting points about MFP. It's what I'm following and I love the flexibility it gives me (and how my choices have consequences for the rest of the day!). I know that Slimming World works well for me too, and my MFP intake is actually pretty similar to what Id eat on a typical SW day. While 'riskier' (in that I can get away with eating more crap than SW syns would allow) for now that works best for me. I love seeing my calories rise too when I've walked loads! 🤣

diege · 04/05/2020 15:58

owlina your meals sound great! Really healthy but delicious. I must try making soup.
I'm making the DCs fajitas for tea but making a veggi curry for myself ...I rarely eat meat (haven't eaten red meat since I was 16, have chicken about 4 times a year) so often cook separate meals. I can indulge that working from home - a silver lining!

SausageCrush · 04/05/2020 16:03

My ancient scales gave up the ghost recently, but I can just tell that I've put weight on by looking in the mirror. I reckon a minimum of half a stone.

Since last summer I've lost two and a half stone and was steaming towards my target when the virus hit and I began comfort eating.

I am determined not to lose the plot completely, so am back on the wagon again today...

Good luck all Thanks

Alicatz66 · 04/05/2020 17:32

I'm back to square one too... had lost 3 pounds.. put it all back on now .... started again today using Nutracheck App .. and binning booze ! ... my weigh day is Friday so I'm hoping a bit lighter by then

redavocado · 04/05/2020 19:55

@MrsSnitchnose it's so true! I successfully lost weight with ww as a student (on an old, old plan) and I've always gone back thinking I'd manage it again. I eat pretty well, it's the snacking that gets to me, so I do know what I should be eating. Actually keeping track and doing it is another thing!

I'll definitely have a nose around MFP beyond the food diary though.

lovinglavidaloca · 04/05/2020 20:02

Totally agree about WW and SW. When I think of the calories I must have eaten back in my SW days Shock

Been a good day for me today. A cereal bar for breakfast, roll with ham and lettuce for lunch, homemade chilli for dinner. I’m already looking forward to some chilli in a wrap for lunch tomorrow.

Hope you’ve all had a good day. I’m going to FINALLY open my Easter egg later and can’t wait.

Queenoftheashes · 04/05/2020 22:36

God when I did sw I’d have those cans of lamb curry from M&S and a whole pack of micro rice for lunch ... 800 cals or something! And then i wouldn’t lose any weight...
all those struggling need to get down coop and get their low cal ice creams. They’re saving my arse (and hopefully shrinking it).

OwlinaTree · 04/05/2020 22:49

I love tinned chicken curry on a jacket spud, yum yum yum.

menthollyinsane · 05/05/2020 09:29

Morning all, how's everyone doing. I was good yesterday after my three disastrous days, I'm feeling happier that I have sorted out the overeating. I was so close to just giving up.

It's much better waking up in the morning knowing that I didn't pig out the day before.

Thursday is coming round alarmingly fast.

Enjoy your day.
