Morning all!

@MotherOfDragonite I’ve actually joined a live online Pilates class which is great!

We went for a long family walk this morning and so for the first time ever in my life I already have 8,000 steps in before lunchtime

However have also got a bit seduced by Easter treats today so have already had chocolate and biscuits. And bacon and sausages for breakfast Blush

Anyway I’m koko so hopefully food plan is this

Lunch - veg soup
Dinner - fishfingers and white cabbage as that’s what we have!

Going to do a bit of dance routines on YouTube with dds later as well - maybe 2k steps

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 10:53

Reading back @recklessgran how cute and clever is your dgd Star

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 10:54

@GetTheStartyParted I’m afraid I sometimes have to say to dp I need to be alone now to watch reruns of bake off because I would go mad otherwise

GetTheStartyParted · 11/04/2020 10:58

Nothing wrong with that @Onceuponatimethen I'm currently enjoying a green tea and watching Masterchef, while everyone else is working hard in the garden Grin You do what you've got to do.

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 11:00

@MotherOfDragonite just saw yours are 2 and 6. They might like these exercise stuff and (if you don’t mind looking as crazy as I do when I do it with mine!) you can go along with them and gets you a fair few steps:

Andy’s Wild Workouts on CBeebies - my two like the animals!

Silly dances on YouTube like la Bamba or chicken dance or agadoo

Jump Start Johnny flash mob is on YouTube and has a lot of young girls dancing in it - my two love that one

My two also really like Jump Start Johnny freeze on YouTube because they like doing the ‘freeze’ bits

And they love this other silly freeze song m.youtube.com/watch?v=2UcZWXvgMZE

I find that although I feel grumpy and reluctant when I start that it often weirdly cheers me up watching their funny moves Smile

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 11:00

@GetTheStartyParted I think we may be on the same wavelength Grin

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 11:02

@cricketmum84 I think it sounds like quite a few of us get where you are coming from with too much time with the family, lovely as they are. Honestly I am not a cleaner but I cleaned the bathroom Kim and Aggie style yesterday just to get some time completely alone!

JessJonesJumps · 11/04/2020 12:37

I completely agree about too much time with the family. About a week in, I had to tell DH to work on a different floor from me and I'd meet him for lunch. Grin

Weight is down slightly today. We got a milk delivery this morning so DS is working through all the cereal that he obviously feels he's missed when we didn't have milk Grin DH is making something in his workshop. And I plan is to spend some time in the garden.

CarrotPuff · 11/04/2020 14:31

Oh god, I really do miss some space for just myself! Not that I'm at home alone ever, but at least when I'm at work I can spend some time away from everyone and endless "mummmyyy!"! Drives me up the wall.

I'm a pound up this morning, which I knew would happen. Had pancakes this morning, pitta and hummus for lunch. Dinner will be shop bought pizzas. Not very diet friendly, but we've had bbq for the last 2 days, and I just want something nice and easy for dinner. But then I'm waiting for the dough to rise for hot x buns... 🤔

cricketmum84 · 11/04/2020 14:38

Sitting out the front of my house, on a camping chair (no sun in the back garden). Watching the world go by and shouting hi at all the people who walk by.

If you can do the same it's really good for mental health! I'm having 6 metre away shouty conversations with neighbours I've never spoken to before!

Right. Confession time. Emotional eating day here. Not making excuses but seeing poor DD4 looking utterly exhausted and broken on the family zoom meeting at 1.00pm has finally tipped me over. We had a barbecue. So, sausages in a roll, chicken, mushroom and pepper skewer and chips. [Proper ones made with real potatoes in a chip pan.] Nothing remotely healthy on the table, not even a small salad. And that's not all. Whilst I was getting that lot ready a cheese and pickle sandwich AND a bag of mini cheddars. Next is a large piece of strawberry flan AND cream and a couple of glasses of wine. I know how to live - no half measures here! Oh well, an extremely rare fall from grace. Back on Keto tomorrow. Hope everyone has enjoyed the lovely sunshine.

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 19:55

@recklessgran I’ve been similar today so maybe we can be koko twins tomorrow. So far - biscuits, chocolate cake, bacon and just finished a wonderful massive g & t (otherwise had no alcohol for a month). We can get back on it tomorrow!

JessJonesJumps · 11/04/2020 21:02

I had ice cream and cream. It was lovely!

Bit of an odd question but how are you washing your soft fruits? We got lots of berries delivered today and I can't seem to find advice on how to wash it in the current climate. It's not as though I can leave it for days before we touch it. They'll go bad.

recklessgran · 11/04/2020 21:33

@Onceuponatimethen I just finished it off with half a chocolate orange. Will definitely be your KOKO twin tomorrow and tie myself back on the wagon with a big thick rope. God knows how much damage I've done weight wise today. I'm not expecting a loss this weigh day Monday that's for sure.
@JessJonesJumps I'm putting my berries in a sieve then lowering them into a bowl of cold water, swishing them about and then letting them drain and dry out in the sieve. I'm quite sure that it's not adequate and the only way to be sure is to cook them but where do you draw a line? It's really hard isn't it?

Onceuponatimethen · 11/04/2020 21:46

@JessJonesJumps I do very similar to @recklessgran and try to leave 24 hours before opening.

@recklessgran right with you on needing the rope. I feel a bit sick now and think I’ve clearly overdone it! Lucky that tomorrow is another day

JessJonesJumps · 11/04/2020 22:38

I've been doing the same but suddenly had a wobble tonight that it wasn't enough. I think you're right reckless that the only way to be sure is to cook them ... I might throw some of them into pancakes tomorrow and eat the rest uncooked on Mon.
I now have to hide the plastic eggs for DS. I'm thinking a G&T might help Grin
Happy Easter everyone!

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 11/04/2020 23:01

Jessjones hi, I’m new to thread but with regards the berries, I’d put them in a bowl of water with a squirt of fairy liquid, swish them round for a bit then rinse well. Apparently soap is what kills the germs as it breaks down the enzymes or something (hence the official advice being that washing with soap and water is better than antibac). That will be fine. And I wouldn’t obsess about it too much - that way madness lies!

I’d like to join the thread as needing a boost. I’ve been loosely following slimming world (I know!) for about 5 weeks now so trying to mainly eat “free” foods but really I’m mostly calorie counting. I’m trying to stick to no more than 1300 a day.
Start weight 11-4-20 : 12st 10lbs
Today I weighed myself and am 12st so that’s 10lbs in about 4 weeks which is good. However I’ve come on yesterday and have been having a bit of a binge. Just ate a load of chocolate and 2 bags of crisps. I never know whether it’s just psychological but I find it so hard not to snack when I’m on my period - it’s like I can’t stop thinking about chocolate and it drives me mad until I eat it! Then of course I feel rubbish for eating it.
I came on here as I don’t want to lose motivation and I like seeing what others are eating! My goal is to get to 11stone.
I’m walking for an hour every day and also doing some arm weights every other day.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 11/04/2020 23:02

Sorry start weight was on 11-03 not 11-04!

ploughingthrough · 11/04/2020 23:19

Welcome @ShesGotBetteDavisEyes. You sound like you've made a great start and you've come to the right thread for support.
Easter Sunday has begunneth in Singapore with the little ploughings hunting for their chocolate eggs at exactly 6am 😂
I'm back in bed having allowed them to have a mini pre breakfast of little eggs in front of the ipad (parent of the year).shall spend the day resisting chocolate ...

Tanaqui · 12/04/2020 06:03

Happy Easter! 10 stone 1.4 this morning, so am very pleased so far, although hungry! Aiming to be at 10 st by end of april, so looking good if I can stick to it!

MsTSwift · 12/04/2020 06:26

Got out my summer clothes yesterday barely any fit! My shorts all literally falling off me. Thrilled to have lost 2 stone with help of these threads but going to be expensive!

Was 11 at 9 in October size 14
Now 9st 9 size 10/12

cricketmum84 · 12/04/2020 08:59

Good feeling isn't it @MsTSwift! I bought 2 gorgeous pairs of denim shorts with a pretty appliqué design for our last holiday and was gutted when I couldn't get them over my bum! I was wearing them yesterday feeling very happy!! I need to do a summer clothes inventory properly. And get rid of all the too big stuff.

No change in weight today again but I haven't been sleeping and I know that always affects it. I've been rubbish at tracking too so putting more effort into putting every meal into the ww app. I am determined to be down into that next stone bracket by the end of the week!

Good work @Tanaqui :) happy Easter! 🐣

Welcome @ShesGotBetteDavisEyes sounds like you have made a great start already!

Plan for today is:

Brunch (when DH gets back from his walk) - quorn bacon and scrambled eggs.

Snack - hummous and carrot sticks

Dinner - freezer fish and chips at the request of DH and DD! I'm struggling to get hold of meat replacements so been having the occasional bit of fish. I'll take the batter off mine, do it with sweet potato wedges and mayflower curry sauce :)

Exercise - half hour walk later on and some free weights. My arms are looking very saggy :(

Have a lovely Easter Sunday. The bunny did bring me an egg today but I'm going to make it last! Dark chocolate coconut crunch!

GetTheStartyParted · 12/04/2020 09:14

@cricketmum84 and @MsTSwift my hoarding tendencies have proved useful for this, my wardrobe has sizes 10-18 in all seasons clothes Grin Pleased to fit in clothes I haven't for a few years but no where near the smallest yet! Got a while until I'm there. Well done to both of you, it's a great feeling and great way to see your progress.

I have some keto treats rather than my usual Easter eggs. @cricketmum84 your egg sounds delicious.

Breakfast will be bacon and egg

The rest of the day is tbd, I have homemade coleslaw and cauliflower cheese to use up.

GetTheStartyParted · 12/04/2020 09:16

Easter treat for me and DH

Lose 7lbs/3kg per month - its the April thread!
Onceuponatimethen · 12/04/2020 10:15

Morning everyone and happy Easter Flowers

Kids are happy this morning and enjoyed their lockdown Easter Egg Hunt Smile

Sounds like the @ploughingthrough kids had a great morning too - I’m guessing you are ready for dinner time now with the time difference!

Welcome to the thread @ShesGotBetteDavisEyes - this has been great for me and dp who has lost 12 kg or so! Definitely don’t worry about the odd dodgy day - I’ve certainly had a few and still lost plenty overall since December.

@Tanaqui sounds like you are going great guns already and still plenty of April left

@MsTSwift I know the expense is a pain but you must have had a very proud moment when you looked at your stuff and realised how much your shape has changed! I felt weirdly happy when I realised I couldn’t fit into my favourite denims any more!

@cricketmum84 that sounds like a lush Easter egg. As a bounty bar fan that would be right up my street. Your food plans sound nice as well.

@GetTheStartyParted I’m also a horder and so glad I hadn’t M Kondoed my wardrobe or I would literally be reduced to pjs and summer dresses now!

Food plans today:

Lunch low cal veg soup (after some nice chocolate this morning Grin

Letting dds choose dinner out of either shepherds or spag Bol

I will go for a very moderate portion of diner with massive amounts of veg which will be white cabbage and sweet corn as that’s all we have

Exercise - dds have big dance plans so going to do more of that. We did a long walk yesterday so weirdly ended up at 12k steps but feet a bit achey so won’t overdo it today!!
