Well hello there! It's been the longest day ever here! Hardly even had chance to eat.
B - skipped
L - chopped up carrot and a bit of hummous
D - about to stick a butternut squash curry on. Am starving!

No change in weight at all today. Never mind. Fingers crossed for some movement for Saturday!

@JustUrggghhhh welcome :) no chickening out allowed now!!

Well done @MotherOfDragonite! Excellent work!!

@recklessgran I'm a lazy one too. Still not been for that run!!

I've been so busy with work the last few days and my scales are jumping about so I haven't posted. Today has been fuelled by too many biscuits yes, I opened the Christmas tin Blush

I feel like I'm starving all the time atm. Plus I'm getting hardly any sleep because DC has a D&V bug and their temp was a bit high yesterday. All fairly common symptoms but everything is much more worrying just now. They still have D&V but their appetite is back and their temp is fine so hopefully I'll get a decent sleep tonight.

Busy work today tomorrow again but I'll try to weigh and check-in.

Hello to all the new peeps and well done to all the regulars with losses!

crivit · 08/04/2020 22:49

@MotherOfDragonite and @Tryingtwo - good work and congratulations Grin

@JustUrggghhhh - welcome 😁

Weight went in the right direction again this morning, at 67.2kg. Food was ok. Porridge for breakfast, seitan, houmous and salad with bread and butter for lunch (and two lotus biscoff with the post lunch espresso - très français), dhal and rice for dinner plus my usual cocoa.

JontyDoggle37 · 09/04/2020 08:06

Morning all. @JessJonesJumps I’m right there with you, too much snacking. Life feels very disjointed at the moment with a lack of focus so I keep wandering through the kitchen. On the plus side I have been running every day and also plying with my little boy so that’s got to help! Going to get my head down on a proper list of tasks today and see if I can stay away from the fridge!!!

recklessgran · 09/04/2020 09:35

Morning all. Doing OMAD again today. Planning to have bacon, egg and cheesy mushrooms for dinner tonight. Not particularly healthy as probably ought to have a side salad or something to balance nutrients properly but I don't think it will hurt for one day. Trying to use things up in the fridge. Will be making cottage pie and veg for DH, DD1 and DD5.
Spoke to DGD who is 2 and a half on the phone last night - she really made me laugh - suddenly in the middle of a conversation she said "Granny! Rescue me, pleeease." So funny the way she came out with it - I think she's as fed up as the rest of us of the family separations. We are doing a whole family twice weekly zoom meeting to fit in with DD4's rota so we can at least have a virtual get together. It's weird as everyone struggles to come up with some "news" to contribute. We'll be showing off our newly treated shed and fences at the next one. Trying to keep busy here. Hope everyone's O.K. and has as good a day as possible.

Tanaqui · 09/04/2020 10:55

Hope you are all well! I just read the fast800 book, and am thinking of trying to do 2 weeks on 800 if I can! Apparently it is very good for your body, and you can combine it with 16:8, and with low carb or Mediterranean woe.

cricketmum84 · 09/04/2020 13:15

Hello all! I'm down another pound whoop!! So so close to the 17s now!

Plan for today is:

Brunch - 2 crumpets with lurpak. Already eaten so you can't judge me now 😂

Dinner - jackfruit chilli in a tortilla wrap, starting to run low on salad now although DH is attempting lidl Saturday morning.

Was also very excited this morning to learn that my bottle of Plymouth gin will be delivered tomorrow instead of Monday! That should cheer my weird long Easter weekend up! As long as I can procure some tonic from somewhere!

Egghead68 · 09/04/2020 13:16

Nice one @cricketmum84!

JessJonesJumps · 09/04/2020 13:49

reckless I'm laughing so much at your DGD begging to be rescued Grin I think we all feel like that!
cricket I hope your gin arrives safely. I was so disappointed today. A box arrived and I thought it was the Easter chocolate I'd ordered. When I eventually had two minutes to check, it turned out it was from Hey Girls! Sad
I haven't ventured near the scales today. I've eaten 4 biscuits so far ... but nothing else so who knows it may balance out over the course of the day.

MotherOfDragonite · 09/04/2020 17:18

Very well done @cricketmum84!! I am also super motivated for going down to the stone below. There's just something about it that's really satisfying.

I am doing ok on drinking more water and sticking to my points. I did a lovely thing with my morning egg and mashed it up with a teaspoon of reduced fat mayo, some English mustard, and some chopped up dill pickle (the kind with no sugar). Deeeelicious!

crivit · 09/04/2020 22:11

@cricketmum84 - yay 😁

@JessJonesJumps - I feel your parcel disappointment. Today the delivery I thought was my coffee was actually my partner's contact lenses. Ok, it's not chocolate but I bloody love coffee 😟

Another 100g off for me this morning. 67.1kg. Usual exercise, usual breakfast, fairly usual lunch although with a sun-dried tomato houmous this time. Dinner was a new recipe though. Mushroom and spinach (and tofu) tart with a chickpea flour base. Base was overcooked (clearly doesn't need as long as the recipe suggests) but tasted good and will make again.

CarrotPuff · 09/04/2020 22:44

I've lost 0.2 lb this morning. Today's been quite good, although I did eat a magnum after dinner. Will see what tomorrow shows! Although tbh I'm just happy it's finally the weekend, this whole wfh malarkey makes me feel like I'm working all the time. Will be good to switch off for a bit.

Onceuponatimethen · 10/04/2020 07:36

Sorry to have dropped off for a few days - been very busy with work (still working just from home nowadays).

Being busy has meant I haven’t always got to 10k steps but averaging 9k a day over the last week

Food wise we’ve had days where not much has been in so I haven’t been as low cal as I would have liked! Today is going to be:

Breakfast: moderate portion porridge with dried fruit
Lunch: veg soup
Dinner: will have to be roast chicken as we got a chicken in the meat and veg box that now needs eating due to dates

Hope everyone has a lovely long Easter weekend

recklessgran · 10/04/2020 09:40

Morning all. My 2 OMAD days seem to have worked and I'm back to my Monday weight so I feel I'm back on an even keel now. Not too sure what I'll have tonight but it will be some kind of salad. Will just try to have a very small lunch.
I'm going to tackle some weeding in the front garden today. No excuse for it not looking pristine now is there? Hope everyone can make the most of the weekend. We are not drinkers but ours might involve some alcohol.

Ecci · 10/04/2020 09:58

I've been mostly lurking this month. The coronavirus gloom has got to me, I think. This month so far I've put on 0.2 lbs. I was expecting more. I've decided to give up for the weekend and get back on track on Tuesday. Got a Crunchie for my Easter treat and planning to make some hot cross buns today, not sure how that will work because I haven't been able to get any strong flour. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Egghead68 · 10/04/2020 10:25

@recklessgran that’s very cute from your granddaughter! @ecci me too.

Depressing day yesterday. Had been looking forward to my Tesco delivery but forgot that in the middle of the night a few days ago (in a fit of healthy eating good intentions) I had deleted all the chocolate and ice-cream from the order. All I got was stacks of vegetables! Sad

longroute11 · 10/04/2020 14:56

Beautiful weather for us here, so been sitting in garden looking at all the things I might do to sort it out. DH has decided we need! a small greenhouse type thing to grow our seeds when they come in post.

Whilst he Is pottering about DC and I have made a chocolate cake covered in mini eggs. Told everyone they can’t start it till tomorrow, mainly so I don’t get tempted as once it’s cut there will be no stopping me.

Had a delicious salad for lunch as click& collect shopping came yesterday so decided to eat lots of salads for next 4 days. I love salad.

Weighed this morning but stayed the same but ok with that as want to enjoy the long weekend, roast, last of my Easter egg and some cake.

Tuesday back on it.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.🐥

CarrotPuff · 10/04/2020 16:55

@Egghead68 oh no! Damn those righteous moments!

@longroute11 your cake sounds amazing! I might attempt hot X buns tomorrow.

I seem to have lost 2 lbs overnight, which obviously is just bloat. But I'm very happy about it regardless, I haven't seen that number on the scales for a while now.

Also went for a run this morning. Didn't get out until 10.40 though, I forgot how hard it is to run when it's hot! 🥵

We're having a bbq and some drinks later, hopefully everyone is enjoying the sunshine 🌞 even if we're all confined to our houses.

cricketmum84 · 10/04/2020 17:07

The gin arrived! Yay! Ended up working today as we have so much to do and, we'll, it's not like I've got anywhere to go??

Naught tea tonight - Greggs bake at home vegetable pasty with mushy peas. OMAD day though so not too bad.

I'm so confused by what day it is today!

@CarrotPuff me and DH have both said the same. It's hard to switch off when your living room is your office.

@Ecci yes I also have the gloom. But you've just reminded me to add hot cross buns to the shopping list for tomorrow so you have cheered me up no end!!

@longroute11 DD has made a lovely lemon drizzle tray bake today. I'm just dip dying her hair (with the dye that was meant for me obviously) and then she is off to deliver some to next door neighbour as he cut our grass for us Wednesday while we were both working!

Weather is ok here, not quite warm enough to sit out though

Hope everyone is enjoying the extended weekend (all eleventy billion weeks of it)

Surviving! The girls are lovely and great company, but they are 2 and 6 and I really miss grown up company. The evenings are particularly lonely and I have to be careful not to snack too much. It's not that I went out in the evenings before, but somehow between work and socialising at the school gates and friends at weekends, they felt different.

I have been having my usual egg on toast in the morning (with Tabasco sauce, always!), then a 1pp chilli miso soup at lunch, then a biggish supper that I don't have to worry about.

The last couple of nights were courgette and sweetcorn fritters made with chickpea flour, and then refried black beans (sort of mashed) in a tortilla wrap with coriander and tomato and a squeeze of lime on top. I am really enjoying the more interesting food but the kids are suspicious! However, the black bean tortillas were deemed acceptable for future consumption...

I've stayed within my points today and drank a fair amount of water. I still haven't exercised. It feels like there's no time for it, but I need to make time...

crivit · 10/04/2020 22:59

Stayed the same this morning. Exercise was ok today, food the same. Tried a new recipe for dinner again but it was a bit disappointing. West African bean stew sounded tastier than it was 😞.

At least the wine was ok. This week's tasting was of cabernet sauvignon. Had a Bordeaux blend which mellowed well after a while out of the bottle. Next week back to whites with sauvignon blanc...

Tanaqui · 11/04/2020 06:06

Those fritters sound lovely @MotherOfDragonite. Could you maybe try filling your evening with some kind of exercise? Maybe something like yoga or zumba online so it felt more like a hobby than a chore? That might kill 2 birds with one stone!

cricketmum84 · 11/04/2020 08:00

Fritters sound lovely @MotherOfDragonite! Did you add anything to the black beans? I've got 2 tins in the cupboard that I need to do something with.

Weight STS today which is fine. I probably should be eating a little healthier to be honest.

Plan for today is:

Brunch - mushroom omelette
Dinner - homemade veggie burger with salad

Struggling with lockdown to be honest. I really appreciate my alone time and this constantly being with DH and DD (whilst I love them both completely) is absolutely exhausting for me. He's gone to do the food shop this morning and DD still in bed so am sat with a coffee alone for what feels like the first time in weeks.

Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday whatever you have planned.

I hear you, @cricketmum84!! (Proudly reporting for duty for Team Introvert!)

For the black bean dish I just fried some onions (I throw a bit of water in so they're half frying and half steaming as otherwise I find they don't soften well with the Frylight), added some crushed garlic and cumin and heated it for a while, then the black beans, and pureed it all with a stick blender when it had heated up. It was very nice on a tortilla wrap! Especially with a squeeze of lime on top (lemon would work too) and chopped coriander (not essential but nice) and chopped tomato on the side.

The courgette and sweetcorn fritter recipe is here, they were nice: www.makingthymeforhealth.com/healthy-zucchini-corn-fritters/

@Tanaqui I should definitely try to do some exercise in the evenings, I think you are right that it would be fun and relaxing as well as good for me. But I end up looking around at the living room and just tidying up millions of toys and messes I hadn't spotted during the day! Then I am exhausted and just want to sleep!

GetTheStartyParted · 11/04/2020 10:17

I'm also an introvert. DH keeps asking me to go out and spend time with him while he works in the garden, no thanks, I'll stay in and have a cuppa in peace! We are both still working our usual jobs, but we don't have our nights out, sports clubs for him and the DC or swimming for me. I can't imagine how we will feel if we can't even go to work, fair play to you all.

Usual weekend breakfast here of bacon and eggs.

Lunch is slices of beef with cheese and coleslaw

Dinner tbd

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
