Morning everyone. It’s my weigh day and I have lost 2 pounds. Last week I was 15st 7, now I’m 15st 5.

I’m not sure what the plan is for food today - maybe toast and poached eggs for brunch then leftover vegetable and chorizo bake that I made last night for dinner.

I think I need to eat more fibre...what foods are a good source of fibre?

Onceuponatimethen · 07/04/2020 10:41

@HundredYearOldMan wow that’s great on the losing front! Fruit - fresh and dried, leafy veg, cauli are good for fibre. Drinking water is also good for the system!

@longroute11 the cardio workout sounds good and impressed by your salad plans

HundredYearOldMan · 07/04/2020 10:45

@Onceuponatimethen thanks. I think I’ll have a couple of satsumas today, and I’ll get some cauliflower at the next shop. I’ve been trying to up the water intake!

Have a good day everyone

Tryingtwo · 07/04/2020 11:21

Good morning all, some great losses and impressive exercise plans. Dh and I went for a walk last night and he walks much faster than dgs1 but I managed to keep up and wasn't too out of breath. Food wise I was back on track yesterday and had a slight loss today.

cricketmum84 · 07/04/2020 12:50

Oh boo I wrote a whole post and then it crashed and I lost it!!

@HundredYearOldMan for fibre plenty of leafy green vegetables, water and wholewheat pasta and brown rice (if you can find it 😂) well done on the loss!

@longroute11 ooh I would do an upside down pear cake!

Plan for today:
L - was a sandwich in wholemeal. I had a plastic cheese slice 😂 I know they have never even seen a cow but I do have a weakness for them!
D - spaghetti with roasted veg sauce.

Less wine more water!

KOKO!

Afternoon all,

I had a weird one yesterday, lots of exercise but lots of food too.

I started the free 14day Les Mills trial doing a body combat class then a body balance class. Then I did 10k on the bike.

But I just ate so much junk. A full pack of bourbons, bowl after bowl of cereal and no proper meals. I never eat like that so don't know what compelled me.

Trying to just stick to meals today. Haven't made the best choices but anything will be better than yesterday!

I'm going out for a walk soon but just waiting on for a parcel first.

Keep safe everyone. 😊

MrsRonaldUlyssesSwanson · 07/04/2020 16:59

@HundredYearOldMan prunes and tinned mushy peas are staples in this house, the fibre is great in both of them. Prunes are hard going but very effective Grin

longroute11 · 07/04/2020 18:15

Ooo yes @cricketmum84 a upside down pear cake would be v tempting but have had some just in a bowl plain. Still delicious and just though and youngest DC helped me out too.

Also I’ve just eaten half a chocolate button Easter egg. Decided I couldn’t save it any longer. Will eat the rest on Sunday, spread the weight about a bit!

Haven’t got any other chocolate in house though, apart from DC’s eggs.
Apart from egg I’ve been making good choices today.

Had a good fast hilly walk and did 20 mins keep fit session so getting in a good routine.
Have a good evening everyone.

Egghead68 · 07/04/2020 19:45

@hundredyearoldman - great loss. Pulses are great for fibre and very filling.

CarrotPuff · 07/04/2020 20:12

Can I join please? I realise it's already a week in, though... I've always been intrigued by these threads!

Currently 10.9 (although weighed in at 10.11 this morning 😫) My absolute ideal would be 8.4, although anything under 9st would be marvellous, I haven't weighed that in 10 years!

I've managed to get down to 10.6 in March, but then this lockdown happened... it actually started a week early for us, so I've been snacking all the way through non stop! Need to reign it in, but I find it very hard when I'm at home with food everywhere!

That turned out into a bit of a ramble...

My goal for April would be to get back to 10.6. I'm doing 16:8 and trying to skip carbs some of the meals, and no biscuits apart from weekends...

MotherOfDragonite · 07/04/2020 20:47

Well done @HundredYearOldMan and @Tryingtwo!

And welcome to @CarrotPuff! Many of us (including me) are also struggling with the snacking challenges presented by the lockdown. And the (un)availability of some of our favourite healthy foods, and need to use up tins from cupboards etc... Grin

I have actually had a reasonable week. Some days weren't ideal, and I had some snacking lapses, but overall I have managed to keep it together and stick within my WW points (green plan). It's my official weigh-in day tomorrow, but so far when I've peeked things have been going in a generally encouraging direction.

I am still not exercising at all. Can anyone recommend any really gentle exercise classes/videos online? Although I usually walk 10-15k a day, the rest of my core strength is low and I need something non-scary to get me into exercise!

recklessgran · 07/04/2020 20:54

Evening all. Really hope everyone is doing O.K. Tuna mayo salad for lunch and gammon with 2 fried eggs for dinner. 2 squares of dark chocolate. Gallons of black coffee. Might explain the insomnia. Welcome to all newbies - hope you will be happy here with us. Been a lovely sunny day but I've been too busy with work to make the most of it. I resolve to spend some time outside tomorrow. Ashamed that I'm struggling to get my steps over 1k per day.

CarrotPuff · 07/04/2020 21:43

@MotherOfDragonite Pilates is v good for core, although I've never looked for anything online, but I'm sure you'd find something if you looked. I was going to classes before this all happened.

Yoga is the next best thing, there's loads on YouTube. Yoga with Adrienne is good, although she's annoyingly talkative.

HundredYearOldMan · 07/04/2020 22:36

Thanks for all the fibre suggestions! I’ve upped the water again today and I’m feeling less bloated.

@MotherOfDragonite if you can get outside I like couch25k

crivit · 07/04/2020 23:19

@longroute11 - ooh, I love tinned pears! Could eat them all day.

@HundredYearOldMan and @Tryingtwo - congratulations Grin

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa - it may just have happened because you had no energy left to cook after all that exercise Shock

@CarrotPuff - welcome 😁

@MotherOfDragonite - I like Jessica Smith on youtube. They do a mix of stuff including core work and they're not too annoying.

First blip of the month for me, up slightly to 67.6kg. Food has been ok today. Usual porridge breakfast, green salad and bean salad for lunch with bread and butter with a dinner of homemade oven cooked chips, marinated baked tofu and veg. Now settled in with my cocoa.

goldenorbspider · 07/04/2020 23:19

I've put on! Think I need to cut portion size right down. Always on my feet with work but now only working two days. I go out for daily exercise with my toddler so don't get very far or fast

ploughingthrough · 07/04/2020 23:28

@MotherofDragonite I follow the Fitness Blender routines - there are sooo many routines of different length/ impact/ with or without weights and I find Kelli who does it much less annoying than Adrienne - she talks a lot less. Very doable and can choose to your level and add weights of you want.

longroute11 · 08/04/2020 09:03

@MotherOfDragonite, I’m following Phala B exercise on YouTube. It’s gentle and although she talks all through(20mins) she does give tips about things.

I’m finding it motivating and on day 7. I am struggling though as I have no flexibility at the moment but will repeat the whole 31 days again where I’m hoping to see a difference in how I can do.

I’ve stuck with it so far but obviously different ones suit each of us.
I like the fact I don’t have to think as it’s all planned out and there is no jumping around. It seems to be more about toning and getting flexibility back. She do3s market it at 50+ age so hence it’s quite gentle for us peri menopausal women.

Hope you find something as I think it will make a difference especially if you are missing walking like I am.

Tryingtwo · 08/04/2020 10:32

Good morning all. longroute11 thank you I will check that out as it sounds ideal for me - 53, post menopausal and as flexible as a plank (and big busted so jumping around is a definite no).
Weigh in day today - 12st 1.8lbs. I was below 12st 3lbs yesterday as well so I am going to count that as goal 3 met - I am now overweight rather than obese according to NHS bmi calculator (yes I know). Goal 4 is 10st 3lbs - top of the healthy weight range. (Goal 5 is still to be determined and will be based on how I look and feel).

recklessgran · 08/04/2020 10:46

Morning all. @Tryingtwo that's really brilliant - you'll soon be in the 11's. I suspect it will be some time before I get there. My weight has gone up again by a couple of pounds. Not sure why but today I'm doing OMAD to try to address that. Pork steak with pepper sauce and roast vegetables for dinner tonight. I'm still not exercising and think I've given up on the idea altogether - I'd rather curl up with a nice book but admire all your efforts [from a safe distance ha! ha!]. I'm sure I can't be the only lazy one on here. Hope everyone has a good day and poorly people are on the mend and sitting out in the sunshine.

MotherOfDragonite · 08/04/2020 12:03

So, had my weigh in this morning and I am very pleased that I've lost weight again. 2lb this week! It probably could have been more, but I baked cookies with the kids and we also shared doughnuts yesterday. It was within my weekly points though (just!)

Starting weight: 17 st 8.5 lb
Last week's weight: 16 st 4.5 lb
This week's weight: 16 st 2.5 lb
Lost so far: 20 lb
Still to lose: 52.5 lb

This week's goals are to drink more water and to find some kind of form of exercise.

Thank you sooooo much for all the wonderful suggestions of exercise options! I will go and look and hopefully find something to start tomorrow. This also involves some significant tidying of our living space so I have enough floor space! The toys are getting a bit out of control!

Tanaqui · 08/04/2020 12:08

Well done @motherofdragonite and @Tryingtwo!
I am struggling on today, but so far so good! Koko.

JustUrggghhhh · 08/04/2020 12:18

Hi please can I join you all? I am determined to go back to work, whenever that may be, with a decent weight loss.

I weighed in 1/4 at 14st 1.25lb. Weigh in today 13st 12.75lb so lost 2.5lb already. Been trying to follow WW but struggling to get my head properly in the game. I need to lose 4 stone in total.

Will catch up on the whole thread with a coffee later. Just wanted to jump in now before I chicken out!

CarrotPuff · 08/04/2020 12:34

I'm back down to 10.9.6, phew!

Working in the office today, so no snacking for a while, yay! Although had a sandwich with crisps for lunch, which is not ideal, but it's being provided by work at the moment, so can't complain!

Dinner will probably be omelette.

GetTheStartyParted · 08/04/2020 13:43

Quick hi from me and well done on your losses guys Star

Missed my weigh in this week as I was at work. Hoping I'm alright though, stuck to it all week.

Breakfast was yoghurt and raspberries
Lunch was spinach, cheese and bacon frittata
Dinner is pork and mushrooms in a cream cheese sauce.

Oh and hello new people Smile
