Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

My stats are:
Starting weight (Dec 18) 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs
Loss for Feb: 6lbs (just missed target 😢)
Target for March: 10lbs so 17st 8lbs

We can do this people!!! Who's with me???

Vegan market food... had a little taste of the dirty fries which were incredible!! I had the samosa, "chicken" tikka masala and curried vegetables

I’d like to join in please. I’m currently 12 stone (at 5 foot 8). I’m aiming to lose 7lbs each month in March, April and May so I’m down to 10 stone 7 in time for the summer.

The plan is to walk loads and to restrict my calories to 1200-1600 a day. Day one has gone well with a deficit of 1000 calories.

Onceuponatimethen · 02/03/2020 06:57

@cricketmum84 that’s great news about dd’s school place! It’s a great idea about a cheat night. I think dp was partly down because he had an unhealthy main with chips for lunch when we went out and that reminded him how much he liked his old life!! We’ve been focusing on healthier eating since just before Xmas but only really doing it properly since mid jan.

Good luck @TooMuch87 - that sounds like a great plan. Being on this thread has really helped me keep going

Egghead68 · 02/03/2020 07:28

63.9kg.

Brilliant news @cricketmum84 and the food looks great too.

Egghead68 · 02/03/2020 07:31

Thanks for the get well wishes! I am not too bad just in enforced isolation due to people at work etc (understandably) panicking.

I have a mini-trifle left and profiteroles @recklessgran so all good!!

KedsAndTubeSocks · 02/03/2020 07:39

Good news about the school place @cricketmum84!
@Egghead68 if you're feeling a bit better why don't you look for a mini-project around the house to keep you distracted, like tidy the cupboard under the stairs, or sort out photo albums. To stop you eating all the profiteroles!

Ihatesundays · 02/03/2020 07:44

We also got our first choice @cricketmum84.
Back to normal of no weight change...

Newyearnewarse · 02/03/2020 07:54

Morning everyone ,
The plan of just looking at each half stone is perfect for me. Looking at the bigger picture is just too big for now.
My plan today is to log all food
I finish work around 3ish today so I am going to drag my arse to the treadmill and see how long it takes me to cover 5k.
I was regularly doing 5k three times a week about 3 years ago and I felt so much better.
I know I will have to walk most of the distance but it will be a good baseline for me to aim at.
Will also meal plan today as well as I know that makes a difference.
It's annoying i know exactly what works but ignore it Hmm

Good luck to everyone today!

cricketmum84 · 02/03/2020 08:03

Fab news @Ihatesundays :)

@Onceuponatimethen an absolute lifesaver for me are ww and sw fakeaway recipes. I can make myself a quorn chicken tikka kebab with garlic celeriac wedges and it tastes so good I don't feel like I'm missing out on a takeaway or the old tasty food or living on salad and miserable 😂 and the possibilities are endless, spicy turkey burgers homemade with low fat turkey mince, sweet and sour, endless tomato based curries, nachos!

Sounds like a good plan @TooMuch87!!

Plan for today is:
B - grilled asparagus and poached eggs
L - egg mayo salad
D - plant based mince chilli non carne and crispy salad

Have a fab Monday everyone!!

@cricketmum84 we got our school place too! Email didn't come through till after 3am, though. I'm glad I didn't stay up for that.

@egghead68 could it help to look at what he's GAINING rather than losing? Focus on improved health? Fitting better in clothes? Better complexion, compliments from people? It's hard to break lifetime habits, when you convince yourself that your 'losing' or giving up something you want.

recklessgran · 02/03/2020 09:41

Morning all, today is my weigh day.
Last week 13st 0.25lbs
Today 12 st 12.25lbs
So, 2lbs lost this week.
Hoping to get to 12st 10.75lbs before I go on holiday next Monday which will mean a loss of 1 and a half stones in 10 weeks. A miracle. [For me anyway.]
Hope everyone is O.K. and really pleased about the successful school places as it takes away so much family stress.
Work hectic so will catch up later. KOKO everyone. I'm loving the March Mantras.

JessJonesJumps · 02/03/2020 10:14

Congrats on all the school places! 🎉
Scales are playing up again today but I'm either the same or down so I'm happy.

Tryingtwo · 02/03/2020 10:14

Good morning all and welcome to the new joiners.
Up a lb this morning - not unexpected because I ate too many snacks over the weekend. I think I will go back to salads at lunchtime for a few days this week.

ploughingthrough · 02/03/2020 10:31

Congrats on the school places! I ordered some new work trousers today from Next in a size 14 (previously a 16). They were a bit big which I was amazed (and secretly delighted) about because I have stayed the same weight for a while but perhaps I have lost an inch with the added exercise. I'm not a 12 yet but perhaps a 13!

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 10:54

Hello - can I rejoin?! I can't remember when I was on here last year, faffing around and not really losing anything.

Anyway, I've been doing WW purple since Jan and have lost 9.5lb so far. Would love to jump back in with you lot please?

Also got DS's secondary school place confirmed this morning which is a huge relief :)

Anyway, all important stats:
Starting weight (Jan 19) 11st 12lb
Current weight: 11st 2.5lb
Loss so far: 9.5lb
Target for March: 7lb (but I don't think I'll make it!) so 10st 10.5lb.

whattheeck · 02/03/2020 11:10

Can I jump in also? It is very encouraging seeing all the starting weights and current weights. Hoping it will make me more accountable if I join in.

SW = 14.02 lb
Target = 11 st by 1st August, (off on holiday), don't want to spend 24/7 in 3/4 jeans and long cardigans for another year. Think it is 21 weeks away - so hopefully do-able.

DS2 also got his 1st choice so relief here also.

GetTheStartyParted · 02/03/2020 11:29

Congrats on all the school places.

What do celeriac fries taste like @cricketmum84 ? I have a fussy DH who is on the diet with me. He will finally eat cauliflower (smothered with cheese, thank God we are keto) but he doesn't really like any veg. I don't want to make him think I've found an alternative to chips and then hate it!

Meal planning and prep has been my saviour. I haven't had to think about what to eat at all, just open the fridge at meal times. It's been great, and easy so far.

Onceuponatimethen · 02/03/2020 11:32

Hi to all new joiners!

Breakfast - slice of toast with hummus plus a grapefruit

I’m just turning to lunch - working from home today. Plan is two small cooked beetroot and split peas soup

Dinner - eating out over at friends so won’t be able to control that!!

RoomR0613 · 02/03/2020 13:11

Official weigh in day for me (I weigh most days but only record it on a Monday)

I've been stuck at 11.13 for a few days and still there today. That seems to be my pattern though, plateau for 3-4 days and then suddenly lose 3lb.

Breakfast - coffee (Pre MFP it would have been coffee and a couple of pain au chocolat)
Lunch - a small child size beef burger (no bread or anything, just the burger), a boiled egg and 4 pickled onions
Dinner - it's going to be roast pork with crackling and roast potatoes and lots of green veg. Yummy

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 13:38

Breakfast was porridge with a banana and some of the amazing PBFit on top. Oh how much I love that stuff!

Lunch was homemade veg soup I made yesterday.

Dinner will be frozen battered fish and homemade chips or some sort of quorn or veg burger thing with chips. DH and I fancy an easy chuck-it-in-the-oven meal tonight.

Onesmallstep67 · 02/03/2020 16:12

Hi everyone. Sad news this morning @stepcat had been involved in an RTA and was found dead by someone on their way to work at the RSPCA.This was last week. She was scanned and they had rung the house phone but I hadn't been in and hadn't checked it as we so rarely use the landline. So I only found out this morning by checking in with the microchip people. Sad
I will back on the thread tomorrow to update weight etc.

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 16:15

Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear about your poor cat. What a shock for you :( Flowers

KedsAndTubeSocks · 02/03/2020 16:37

Sorry @Onesmallstep67 💐

CumbrianExile · 02/03/2020 16:46

Sorry to hear about your cat Flowers

Today is going well so far. Kids are currently eating tea though and I must not pick at the leftovers (always my downfall!)

cricketmum84 · 02/03/2020 17:09

Oh no @Onesmallstep67 😢 I'm so so sorry. At least there was someone passing who was kind enough to make sure she was laid to rest properly and not just left.
