Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs

Morning all. Today is my weigh day.
Last week 12 st 8.25lbs
Today 12st 8lbs
So its a quarter of a pound only this week. Will weigh again tomorrow for the end of the month .Still hoping for a tiny bit more as I've been up to three quarters of a pound less than today's weight over a few days in the last week. Either way it will be at least 4lbs loss for me for March. Frankly, happy with anything at the moment.
Thanks @Onceuponatimethen - yes I am learning to be grateful for the tiniest things at the moment. Hope your Ocado order turns up - I have a slot on 8th and can't get in to edit it nor can I get another slot. I have no clue what I ordered either. Funnily enough I'm having stirfry as well tonight using the left over chicken from last night. Reckless cat normally has all the leftover chicken from the roast. Not any more.
@GetTheStartyParted and @TryingTwo blinking well done - those are amazing losses for the month. You must be so pleased!
Hope everyone else is doing O.K. and having as good a day as possible. I'm trying to eke out the jobs here so today planning to do some cleaning upstairs. We shall see if I motivate myself enough to actually crack on and do it. I think I need a project. Used to be a great knitter and still have a big wool stash so might try to absorb myself in something like that.

JessJonesJumps · 30/03/2020 11:33

cricketmum since your DD is vulnerable, I think it would be ok to drop items off as long as you don't go in and they disinfect everything. It all sounds tough. Flowers

My fruit and veg box turned up today - hurrah!

I also finally reached one stone loss! Which is 5lbs for this month.

DS is getting lots of schoolwork sent home. Tbh I'll be glad when the Easter holidays start.

cricket you've just reminded me that I don't know if mine has strawberries. I've just left it in the porch but may have to investigate Smile

beforeihit30 · 30/03/2020 13:34

Congrats @JessJonesJumps! We’re not getting too much work, although DCs are young Primary (having said that I know some Primaries are sending loads!). But the headteacher sends a weekly update every week and is continuing during closure, and last week said if you can’t do the work or it’s all just a bit much to just not worry, this is a tough time, be with your kids, if they just need a film and hugs that’s fine, if they want to work then that’s fine too, but don’t let it be a cause of stress at an already stressful time. I really appreciate her pragmatism, as that’s how we've been approaching it but part of me didn’t want their class teachers to think we just don’t care!

Also all your fruit and veg deliveries look great!

Recovering (again) from tonsillitis, clearing up nicely but still quite drained, but have to remind myself this is only 3rd day on ABs!

KOKO everyone! It’s got chillier here, hope you’re all not too cold!

JessJonesJumps · 30/03/2020 14:42

beforeIhit I like the sound of your HT. Although to be fair, our HT keeps sending pragmatic emails then the teachers send out tonnes of work for the day ahead Grin There seems to be a bit of cognitive dissonance going on at our school.
Look after yourself.Tonsillitis is horrible. Make sure you rest enough Flowers
(It was lovely here this morning but the temperature has suddenly dropped. I was going to pack away my winter clothes but am now reconsidering!).

Onceuponatimethen · 30/03/2020 16:01

Loving the look of the fruit and veg boxes Smile

My Ocado is apparently coming with a few ok subs and not many missing items. Due any minute so keeping my fingers crossed!

ModernMilli · 30/03/2020 17:44

Hello, can I join? I dont really get on with diets as I have disordered eating so just trying to be more mindful and careful. Thought maybe if I joined others I may be more accountable. Thats the plan anyway.
I am writing down what I eat to be more aware. I do a 20 minute walk most days and weights. My goal is 1 stone 10lb off as that would take me to a size 12/14. Im 5 ft 9. I also do 16:8 which I find very good for me in terms of stopping mindless eating.

Onceuponatimethen · 30/03/2020 17:56

Hi @ModernMilli welcome to the thread! I’m a relatively new joiner too, but being on here has really helped me (and my dp) keep going.

News from my side - I’m pleased to say my Ocado came!!!!

ModernMilli · 30/03/2020 18:19

Thank you Inceuponatimeth. Happy your order came. I've done my first ever food order for next week . Bit scared haha.

ModernMilli · 30/03/2020 18:20

Onceuponatimeth should have been. Sorry

GetTheStartyParted · 30/03/2020 18:44

Hi and welcome @ModernMilli

Yay for your Ocado delivery @Onceuponatimethen

@beforeIhit30 I hope you feel better soon, especially with having your children at home. Resting must be difficult.

@cricketmum84 I agree with others, dropping some home comforts and clothing should be fine, sounds quite necessary.

Just enjoyed a dinner of gammon, egg, cheese, salad and coleslaw, so full. It was delicious.

Onceuponatimethen · 30/03/2020 20:25

That sounds delicious @GetTheStartyParted

Fingers crossed your order comes to @ModernMilli

recklessgran · 30/03/2020 20:43

@CricketMum84 I'm so sorry you're having it super tough at the moment. Poor DD. Such a difficult time for transition. I too think it is fine for you to drop off some girly things for her.
@ModernMilli welcome, you're sure to be happy here - we don't have any judgy pants and everyone is super supportive of each other. Our lovely leader @CricketMum84 is awesome and keeps a close eye on us all.
I didn't enjoy the leftover chicken one little bit so I'm afraid that next time reckless cat will be the beneficiary of the leftover roast! Had a busy day workwise so didn't do one scrap of housework. Not proud to admit that I haven't got dressed today. Is anyone else struggling in that way?

ModernMilli · 30/03/2020 20:52

Thank you for the welcomes 🤗

beforeihit30 · 30/03/2020 22:11

Thanks @GetTheStartyParted it’s not too bad as DH is here too and is lovely so he’s been taking care of most things! I’m just tired, ha.

Hi @ModernMilli Smile I didn’t grow up with the best relationship with food and my eating has been disordered, I spent years trying to find my ‘healthy’ when it comes to food. I don’t want to feel deprived as it will just lead to negative behaviours. Thankfully I did find my way, for me personally eating very low carb and high fat diet has been the solution to hunger (I turned to it not for weight loss, but as a recommendation for managing my chronic illness and it just came with bonus benefits!), I combined that with a lot of thought exercises around my relationship with food, why I eat what I eat, why do I want something, why did I eat until I felt sick, etc. It was actually something I found online which was very simple but it just worked for me to think about my relationship with food in both a more objective and healthy way. I’m not good with tracking food because it starts to become obsessive, I tracked recently (which I hadn’t done in ages) and sure enough it started to become an issue. So I stopped it and feel immensely better as a result. That’s my roundabout way of saying we have all sorts here, and I’m also not following a diet for weight loss (as above, I’m low carb but that’s for illness reasons, I don’t physically tolerate other foods well), and I’m not tracking, so going with following hunger cues, making considered choices and seeing how I go!

ModernMilli · 30/03/2020 23:42

beforeihit30 Thank you so much for sharing. I'm similar to you. If I think of dieting I'm fine for half a day and then I end up having a little binge as I have deprived myself of something during the day.

ploughingthrough · 31/03/2020 00:04

@ModernMilli welcome. I also do 16:8 which has been working for me pretty well.
It's morning here in Singapore so I have done my March weigh and am finishing at 64.4kg or just under 10 stone 2. This is a 3.1kg loss for March which I'm delighted about. An 11.1kg loss since I started.

For April I only really aim 1kg loss. This is more realistic what with home education and Easter holidays and will take me to the 10 stone mark.
Keep on everybody

ModernMilli · 31/03/2020 00:26

ploughingthrough Hi. Morning ...I'm a natural faster as i don't eat until between 12-1. Well done on your weigh loss.

Onceuponatimethen · 31/03/2020 06:54

@ploughingthrough that is a good loss! Sounds like a good goal for April.

I’m going to weigh and dp is also going to weigh today - I’m not expecting huge losses. I think I will just have maintained and dp will be down possibly another kg

We are both on a new exercise push here - have decided I don’t want me or dds to be totally unfit when we leave lockdown, as I was already pretty unfit and dds not that sporty either.

I’m going for 10,000 steps a day and have somehow managed it the last three days. This is my aim for today - Joe Wickes workout with the kids in the morning, dance dvd with the kids this afternoon. Then in the evening I have phone calls with my dm and dbro and walk around 2,000 steps while I do it Grin

Food plans today:

Breakfast- grapefruit (so relieved this came in the Ocado!)
Lunch - veg soup
Dinner - will have to be lamb and veg as that’s what we have that needs eating!

ploughingthrough · 31/03/2020 07:23

@ModernMilli I am definitely not a natural faster I miss breakfast! But the model works for me so I just do it. It's been easier when I've been at work as I teach and there just isn't the time to think about food or snacks. But online teaching and being home all day I feel much hungrier.
I do plan on relaxing on myself a little as I don't want to lose too much more as I fear I won't be able to maintain. But this will come in the form of a bit more for lunch rather than bringing breakfast back.

cricketmum84 · 31/03/2020 07:29

Down to 18.2 this morning whoop!!

Heading out in 5 to take the boys over to eldest DD, I've got her Easter eggs too :)

Welcome @ModernMilli :)

@recklessgran cricketcat wants to come and self isolate with recklesscat and share the leftover chicken 😂

Plan for today is:
B - satsuma
L - leftover small portion of jackfruit chilli
D - black bean chilli on a baked sweet potato

Have a lovely day everyone! ❤️🌈❤️

Well done @cricketmum84 & @ploughingthrough! My weight is up a bit for the month, but it's not a disaster. I think it's more important to be kind to ourselves right now. I'll have to try a different tactic, now the children are home all day every day.

GetTheStartyParted · 31/03/2020 09:06

Well done @ploughingthrough and @cricketmum84 Star

@KedsAndTubeSocks you're right, being kind to ourselves and also finding what works to keep us happy is most important at the moment.

These 3am starts are taking a toll, I'm worn out.
Breakfast- about 5 cups of tea!
Lunch - keto mummy dogs
Dinner - either 'cottage pie' or spiced chicken thighs with broccoli, I haven't decided yet (depends how tired I am by then!).

recklessgran · 31/03/2020 09:30

Morning all. Weight today for the end of the month is 12st 8lbs. That's a 4lb loss for March which considering I've been on holiday not to mention the current situation I'm very happy with. My goal for April is to get down to 12st 3.75lbs which would give me a 2 stone loss since I started at the beginning of the year. Once I get there I'll think about what my actual goal will be. I'm tall and according to BMI chart ought to be 11st 5lbs but I think that might be too light. Long way to go yet so I've got plenty of time to think about it.
Got myself together today - make up, dress and tights on. Washing machine and cat fed. Will try again with cleaning upstairs today.
@Onceuponatimethen I'm pinching your idea of walking during phone calls. I seem to be spending hours each day on the phone and my steps currently are under 1,000 per day so thanks for that!
