cricketmum84 · 29/02/2020 12:03

Hello everyone and welcome to the March edition! The plan is to lose 7lbs or 3kg this month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, newbie, lurker, returning member... all I ask for is the amazing positivity and encouragement I have seen on every thread so far. You guys have been incredible!

I am following ww blue plan and very low carbing. There's a good mix of different methods on here though :)

Previous thread here is anyone wants to look back: Lose 7lbs/3kg per month! The February edition! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3810787-lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-the-february-edition

My stats are:
Starting weight (Dec 18) 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 18st 4lbs
Loss so far: 6st 12lbs
Loss for Feb: 6lbs (just missed target 😢)
Target for March: 10lbs so 17st 8lbs

We can do this people!!! Who's with me???

I was too late finding the February one so I've been keeping my eye out for the March one.

Started on 02 Feb
Starting weight 12.8 and size 14 if I breathed in.
Current weight 11.13 and size 14 now fitting pretty loosely.
Hoped for weight 10.5 which should put me back to being a 10 on top and a 12 on the bottom.

I'm just calorie counting on MFP 1200 calories a day and being quite strict about it.

I don't have time to do much any exercise due to working, having preschoolers that don't nap, and very little help but I was eating huge portions and drinking too much wine. I love food so I'm just eating the same stuff I always did but smaller portions and using more veg if I'm feeling hungry.

Newyearnewarse · 01/03/2020 10:32

Morning , another newbie to the thread.
I have over 3 stone to lose and I am really trying to change my mindset .

I have spent this last week trying to think more mindfully about what I am eating .
I eat healthy meals but far too many snacks. Hoping that popping in here every day will help.
Starting weight is 14:3 !!

chrispenrallt1 · 01/03/2020 10:32

Hi RoomR0613, your stats and aims are just about the same as mine ! Here’s hoping we glide down to the 10 5 step together .

cricketmum84 · 01/03/2020 11:03

Morning all and welcome to Day 1!

Me and eldest DD are heading down to a vegan outdoor market later today. There look to be some amazing Food stalls and I'm going to need to be very restrained and not just eat allllll the food! Although I will definitely be sharing a portion of vegan hot wings....

I've prepped a dish of broccoli and cauliflower cheese for this evening. It's my favourite comfort food. I'm kinda having a relaxed weekend with the intention of being back on it 100% tomorrow. I'm also only weighing on Wednesday and Saturday instead of every day.

Wishing a huge welcome to all the new joiners. It's lovely to "see" you all! I really think the accountability of posting here and the support we all get from each other makes these losses doable. I've been running this thread since June last year and haven't seen any negativity towards another poster in all that time!!

Happy birthday @Onesmallstep67!! Keeping paws crossed that little cat returns safely after her adventures!

Glad the party went well @recklessgran and a little whoop for the comments from people! Sounds like a great night.

@Egghead68 sorry I'm giggling a bit at triflegate 😂 hope you are feeling better soon though. I still have the horrendous cough so sending sympathies!

@DownUdderer I also need another clothes clear out! I've still got a couple of size 22 dresses in there and I'm buying a 16 now!! New clothes are so exciting!

Good morning all. Thanks for the new thread cricketmum84
Checking in with my stats:
Start weight (18.9.19) - 16st 10lbs
Feb 1st - 13st 4.4 lbs
March 1st - 12st 10.4lbs
Target for March - 12st 3lbs (this is also my 3rd goal weight as it puts me in the overweight rather than obese category)

I'm a daily weigher but my 'official' weigh day is Wednesday and I will also report on Sundays. I count calories, try to drink 3.5 pints of water per day, but haven't been doing well at this the past week or so. I'm inactive but want to start swimming again when I feel comfortable in a swimsuit - which won't be this month, but I am looking at swimsuits so it is less pie in the sky and more of something I will do!

Kolo · 01/03/2020 12:09

Ooooh can I join you? Been having some words with myself last few weeks and I really need to change. Since turning 40 (5 years ago) I've struggled with my changing metabolism and put on weight steadily, till I'm now 2.5 stone over my 'normal' weight. I've set myself a target to lose 7lb in March.

I'm pretty active already, got MFP to focus on my eating.

KedsAndTubeSocks · 01/03/2020 12:30

Ooh, I really dislike weekends off. I was so looking forward to this one, but I'm now in bed with a sore stomach. Not used to rich food any more. Sad

Egghead68 · 01/03/2020 13:05

Thanks @JessJonesJumps and @cricketmum84. I hope you (CM) and your son (JJJ) feel better soon. Meanwhile I am on lockdown here. Work don’t want me in for fear I will cause coronovirus panic or at least give people flu, the gym don’t want me in and I’ve cancelled social engagements. I think the diet is going to be on hold for a few days as all I can do is eat and watch Netflix :(

recklessgran · 01/03/2020 13:24

@Egghead68 have I missed something - are you O.K? Is this isolation on account of your recent holiday or are you unwell? Either way I do hope you're alright.

recklessgran · 01/03/2020 13:27

@Egghead68 sorry just read back the thread! Hope you're O.K. and will feel better soon. Can you send out for more trifle?

KedsAndTubeSocks · 01/03/2020 13:50

Aah that's rubbish @Egghead68!
Hope you feel better soon. Look after yourself while you're feeling unwell and not allowed out to play.

cobwebfew · 01/03/2020 14:01

Hey everyone.
Aiming to loose 7lbs in march 😃 lost 9.5lbs in January and 8lbs in February so fingers crossed this month 😄
Unfortunately not off to a great start though 🤦‍♀️ I'm currently following slimming world and meant to be food optimising but had my wisdom tooth extracted on friday and been completely off plan and living on soup, ice cream and yogurts 😂

TheOnlyMrsW · 01/03/2020 14:47

Hello, please can I join you? Have noticed weight steadily creeping on but not brave enough to hit the scales until this weekend 12st 12lbs [shocked] so now determined to do something about it. 7lbs per month would be such a good start, aiming for 10st 7lbs in the end..............

MotherOfDragonite · 01/03/2020 15:16

I've got my fingers crossed for stepcat too, @Onesmallstep67. And a very happy birthday to you!

I hope you feel better soon @Egghead68.

And that your son feels better soon too (and that it isn't coronavirus!) @JessJonesJumps -- yikes, that's a bit close to home...

Welcome to all the newbies! This is such a lovely supportive, encouraging thread. Make yourselves at home :-)

@cricketmum84 that sounds delicious... you've inspired me!

I am having an extremely lazy day at home with the kids. Weirdly, the scales are suggesting that I'm going to have a good week when I weigh in next Wednesday. Unless something goes wrong, I should be on track to hit 1 stone lost in total, which would be so so so wonderful.

I have so much weight to lose that I don't even think anyone other than me will notice I've lost weight! But I feel healthier and more in control. I had really got into a bad place with my diet and self-care and this feels so much more... like loving myself, I guess?

Ihatesundays · 01/03/2020 15:33

Still 70kg this morning. At least it’s not gone up.
Worked out this morning rather than this evening and I am SHATTERED. So much to do as well...

Onceuponatimethen · 01/03/2020 15:37

Me and dp didn’t do too well at the social thing - there were literally no low calorie options Shockso we are just going to have to let today go and move on in a good vein!! Confused

Parsley65 · 01/03/2020 16:28

I've been lurking a long time, but as a yo-yo dieter all my life, didn't want to commit and then disappear Blush

Well it seems I have got the bit between my teeth, so here goes:-

Starting weight: 13 stone (Sept 19)
Current weight: 11 stone
Target weight: 10 stone

I do a zero calorie fast on a Monday, then eat two sensible meals for the next three days, then some treats at the weekend (wine, chocolate, toast & Marmite)

I also exercise - mainly dog walking or swimming, but can manage the gym once a week.

I have been losing 3 pounds fairly consistently each fortnight, but it has now slowed right down, so I'm going to have to go up a gear.

Good luck with the week ahead everyone Thanks

Greatdomestic · 01/03/2020 16:30

Hi all

I've been trying to get rid of menopausal weight for approx 2 years, and have not done very well.

At my heaviest I was 11.7. Today I am 10.12. Ideally I should be 10 or just under. I have a holiday in the sun in July so would like to be just under 10 by then.

However I seem to be two steps forward and one step back.

Redred2429 · 01/03/2020 16:37

Can I join started slimming world last week and joined the gym 4 pounds off another 42 to go 😬😬i have lost almost 2 stone since November but that was due to illness so don't think I can count that but feeling much better and determined to get healthy

CumbrianExile · 01/03/2020 19:53

Hi.

I've been lurking for quite a while but I need to join this month I think to keep me on track. Doing slimming world, which I do find quite easy to follow when I'm thinking about it 😀

Starting weight 14st 5.5
Current weight 12st 12.5
Target for March is 8lb (to finally get my 2 stone!)

GetTheStartyParted · 01/03/2020 21:12

Hi, jumping on board too!

SW: 15st5 (27th Jan 2020)
CW: 14st0

Lost 19lbs in Feb, feeling very proud of myself Grin Following the keto WOE and finding it pretty easy at the moment. Look forward to reading through everyone's stats and for any hints and tips.

2020 is the year I stop being obese and start enjoying myself!

ploughingthrough · 01/03/2020 22:49

Hi all, thanks for new thread.
Starting weight: 75.5kg
Current weight: 67.5kg
Target weight by end of March: 65.5kg.

Joining these threads has been the first time in my life I have taken accountability for my weight and made conscious decisions about eating. Thanks for all the support and looking forward to hearing all your successes this month.

Onceuponatimethen · 01/03/2020 22:58

It’s so good to hear of everyone’s plans and determination!

Dp is having a wobble tonight. Feeling like he’s done really well but that there’s still such a long way to go. I’ve tried to be supportive so fingers crossed that has helped.

ValentineFizz · 01/03/2020 23:47

Thanks for new thread @cricketmum84

Checking in for March:

Start weight (6th Jan) 10st 11lb Angry
Current weight (1st Mar) 9st 12lb Smile
Target loss in Mar 7lb so 9st 5lb

Logging everything on MFP, some days 16:8, minimum 10k steps per day, at least 2L water and some running when I can fit it in! I weigh on a Sunday so trying to keep to that.

Welcome to the new faces, this is a great team for support Star

cricketmum84 · 02/03/2020 00:33

Stayed up to see youngest DDs high school offer at midnight. She got her first choice so lots of happiness :) she's just popped down to find out as she was feeling quite nervous about it!

Vegan market was lovely but quite a bit smaller than we were expecting. I had a little plate of vegan Indian food and DD had the most amazing looking dirty fries. We also bought pesto, thai curry paste, wax melts and the most gorgeous hazelnut flavoured moonshine liquor that tastes like liquid Ferraro rocher!

Called to see my mum this afternoon and she kept saying how slim I looked, cheered me up quite a bit!

Thanks @ValentineFizz :) it is an amazing team!

@Onceuponatimethen I think it's normal to have a wobble at this point, you guys have only been doing it a month haven't you? It can be so hard to overhaul everything and completely change your diet. Just keep supporting him, I find it helps to have a cheat night once a week although the longer I let the less I need the weekly treat night.

Thanks @ploughingthrough you are doing so well!

Hello to all the lovely new joiners. You are all very welcome here :) sorry I don't have time to tag everyone individually!
