cricketmum84 · 31/12/2019 10:22

Hello lovely losers!

Welcome to the January edition of "lose 7lbs or 3kgs a month" link to previous thread is here

Lose 7lbs/3kgs a month! The December instalment! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3756861-lose-7lbs-3kgs-a-month-the-december-instalment

All are welcome here, oldies, newbies, lurkers and watchers. There is a huge range of starting weights and weight loss methods.

All I ask for is the same positivity and support that we have seen on every thread so far.

My stats are:
Starting weight: 18.13
Jan target: 18.6
Loss for December: maintained
Loss so far: 6 stone 5lbs

I'll be following 16:8 and WW purple plan.

Let's get ready to smash January! (As soon as the cheese and trifles have gone 😂)

reckless what a great result! Well done! Have you scheduled a reward for reaching this milestone?

What does everyone else do when they reach a goal? Most of the weight loss programmes suggest celebrating achievements eg every 7lbs loss - but I haven't planned anything.

I've not weighed yet today. Will update later.

recklessgran · 27/01/2020 08:37

@JessJonesJumps and @cricketmum84 thank you and no, not planned anything as I can hardly believe it myself. Normally I reward myself with food. [Stupid!]. Perhaps I'll buy something like a top in a 14 ready for my new slimmer wardrobe.
Meal plan for today. DGS and his g/f are coming for dinner tonight so lasagne and salad for them and DH. Obviously I won't be having the lasagne but will have salad with something else.

Egghead68 · 27/01/2020 08:52

Woohoo @recklessgran!!

peachgreen · 27/01/2020 09:19

@recklessgran Brilliant! Well done!

KnucklesMcGinty · 27/01/2020 09:29

Well done @recklessgran!

MotherOfDragonite · 27/01/2020 10:23

I think I might like to join you.

I've been too scared to weigh myself! But I'm pretty sure that I've put on 3 stone in the past 18 months, due to a combination of work and life stress and poor diet choices.

I can't do 16:8 as I am breastfeeding. I'm vegetarian as well and seem to respond well to reduced carbs. I have two young children (2 and 6) who like plain food and lots of veg, but I tend to find that boring (and so I fall into the bad habit of snacking on unhealthy things late at night instead).

Can anyone recommend any diet plans that might suit my situation??

Onesmallstep67 · 27/01/2020 11:10

Fantastic result @recklessgran, you must be delighted. And it makes the carrying on so much easier when you are feeling successful and rewarded fro your efforts.
@peachgreen, don't be despondent, it won't be a proper regain, just a fluctuation. I was in your position last Monday, had gone up 3lbs but it came back down during the week
Weight this morning 15st 6lbs. ( - 5lbs on January starting weight) would love to see another pound off by Friday.
Have a great day everyone

Egghead68 · 27/01/2020 11:39

Welcome @MotherofDragonite. Can you have your plain food and lots of veg with a spicy sauce? Snack on chopped veg or sugar snap peas? Lots of different approaches to dieting on this thread ( calorie counting, low-carb, 16:8 or 5:2, OMAD (one meal a day)). The breastfeeding shoudl help.

Tryingtwo · 27/01/2020 13:27

Good afternoon all, recklessgran amazing result. Egghead68 hope your losses continue. Downudderer I admire your energy if I am grandchild free I plan which book to read not a hike! Hello MotherofDragonite and nice to 'see' you again WoollyFoolly
0.2lbs down again, but it is dm's birthday tomorrow so it will be lunch out and then cake (which I've got to make tonight) so expecting gains tomorrow and/or Wednesday.

JessJonesJumps · 27/01/2020 14:07

MotherofDragonite is it worth asking your HV or GP for advice since you're still breastfeeding?
I'm 0.2lbs down today which is fine.

Somesortofzilla · 27/01/2020 15:53

Hi all, so sorry! Things are going crazy here. All is well, on plan, kids are happy, I'll pop back on tomorrow evening after court if I can or else Wednesday morning!

waves @recklessgran hope you're still smashing it!

KnucklesMcGinty · 27/01/2020 16:29

Egghead68 · 27/01/2020 19:01

Can’t believe the thread’s nearly full!

Just documenting: ravioli 550 salad 50 chickpeas 100 quinoa 250 edamame beans 150 jelly 100 choc seeds 140 pop chips 100 cranberry sauce 100. Total 1540. Off to bodyblast class.

Egghead68 · 27/01/2020 19:13

I forgot 2 helpings of Brussels sprouts (apparently these were 150 calories!!! Who knew?)

KnucklesMcGinty · 27/01/2020 19:52

Burger & chips for lunch, but just fruit for dinner, so probably ok.

cricketmum84 · 27/01/2020 20:27

@recklessgran Congratulations! A stone in four weeks is amazing!

@cricketmum84 6 stone is absolutely inspiring! Well done you!

I went to Ikea and out for a carvery with my friend yesterday Blush this morning I weighed in at 16’4, having been 16’1 the previous day! I refuse to believe that I’ve put 3lb on yesterday Grin I had a grapefruit for breakfast then a standard size carvery which I didn’t go mad with at all, no pudding. Today I’ve had a ham and cheese sandwich for lunch, some melon, mango and pineapple, then fajita boats for tea and a yoghurt and now I’m off to bed with a peppermint tea. Finishing on 1550 kcal. Hoping I’ll be back to 16”1 tomorrow! Hoping to see the 15 stones by the end of this week, which I haven’t seen for two years!

Juliette20 · 17/02/2020 12:37
