Hello lovely losers!

Welcome to the January edition of "lose 7lbs or 3kgs a month" link to previous thread is here

Lose 7lbs/3kgs a month! The December instalment! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3756861-lose-7lbs-3kgs-a-month-the-december-instalment

All are welcome here, oldies, newbies, lurkers and watchers. There is a huge range of starting weights and weight loss methods.

All I ask for is the same positivity and support that we have seen on every thread so far.

My stats are:
Starting weight: 18.13
Jan target: 18.6
Loss for December: maintained
Loss so far: 6 stone 5lbs

I'll be following 16:8 and WW purple plan.

Let's get ready to smash January! (As soon as the cheese and trifles have gone 😂)

The less said about December the better for me.
Roll on January!! I'm out tonight so I'll get on the scales tomorrow.
I'm nervous of what I'll see, but determined to get back on it
Happy new year everyone!

Gigia · 31/12/2019 18:31

Starting weight 62.4kg
Loss so far 5kg
Target for end of Jan 59kg

Purplequalitystreet · 31/12/2019 19:25

Ooh can I join? I need to get rid of the baby weight (he's 3 months tomorrow). Time is of the essence cos I need to fit into My wedding dress by June. It's just come into the shop so need to try it on soon to see how far off I am. I don't even want to think about. I'm heavier now than I was when I have birth, mostly due to living off biscuits. I've dusted off my old SW books and I'm on day 3 (although tonight is already off plan. And tomorrow will be as well. Bloody new year!)

Starting weight: 11st 3
Target for end of Jan: 10st 9

QueenOfOversharing · 31/12/2019 20:18

I'm in! Thank you for new thread @cricketmum84

Starting weight - too scared to look, but if I can, I'll post it tomorrow.

I'm going to be doing IF 16:8 and low carb - obvs once I finish the trifle & pavlova. Back in the gym 3 times a week (I'm pretty proficient at weight training, just abhor cardio) plus hoping my dog who's hurt his hip is able to get back to full mobility - I was walking them 3+ miles a day.

My non-scale goals are: lose enough to get back horse riding; hopefully not need CPAP machine; and get into trousers I bought last year that I've never got on!

cricketmum84 · 31/12/2019 20:57

@QueenOfOversharing weirdly enough horse riding is one of my NSV goals too. I'm still way over the maximum weight allowed but just feel so jealous watching DD on her riding lessons. Haven't ridden since I was about 13.

OP posts:
QueenOfOversharing · 31/12/2019 21:01

@cricketmum84 oh wow! I was riding a couple of year's ago - the limit was 13 stone 7 and I was 13. I just don't want to kill a horse!

We can do this!! Horse riding is my happy place.

WingingItSince1973 · 31/12/2019 21:05

I'm 11stone 8lbs which is 2 stone heavier than I was 2 years ago due to medication I'm taking (also more sedentary now due to illness) I'm only 46 and was so active and healthy. I'm determined this will be the year I get it back. Even if I loose 1.5 stone I'll be happier. Cant believe I'm this weight now. I'm also only 5ft 2". I lost my baby weight years ago through swimming and eating sensible and no bad snacking which is also my downfall 😭 So hoping to report a loss end of Jan xxxx

WingingItSince1973 · 31/12/2019 21:09

@QueenOfOversharing I used to own horses until 3 years ago when everything changed. I cant believe how much I used to do physically and now I'm in so much pain I would love to ride again but I dardent risk it. Plus I feel like a sack of spuds which wouldn't be fair to the horse 😅

mintoreo · 31/12/2019 21:16

Hi can I jump on this thread!
I've put on way too much weight over the last year, though to be fair I've needed to loose weight for a while. Hopefully this will keep me accountable..
Starting weight: 14 stone
Aim for jan: 6lb off..
Weight loss so far: nothing!
Planning to follow slimming world as it's worked for me in the past and to move more.

QueenOfOversharing · 31/12/2019 21:25

@WingingItSince1973 I would loooooooooove to own my own horse(s)! I just don't want to be limited to Clydesdales. Confused

Ethiopianflower · 31/12/2019 23:35

Weighing myself in the morning after the ding dong of new year. Would love to lose 7lbs this month. Going to use mfp and joining unislim in my local village to feel part of a gang on this new healthy eating journey. Good luck everyone ☘️

DownUdderer · 31/12/2019 23:35

The Scout leader shorts made me laugh! I have put on two pounds over the week between Christmas and New year, I was good on actual Christmas day, it's just been the snacking this week that's out me off my stride. I'm trying to focus today but we'll see how I go.

I have lost 3lb in December and I'd like to loose 7lb in January, but I'll need to screw my head on and get refocused.

QueenOfOversharing · 31/12/2019 23:50

Quick sneak in... I've just signed up for 14 day trial of Noom - because my eating is definitely disordered & maybe a bit of cbt stuff would help. 14 days for £1 - worth a try.

Skatesbythesea · 01/01/2020 03:38

Checking (I was twolungs, new name to reflect new active me).

Starting weight 10st 10
Goal for Jan 10st 3
Loss for Dec 2/3 lbs
Total loss since last Jan 18 lbs

I'm doing meal planning and cronometer, and more regular exercise.

Skatesbythesea · 01/01/2020 03:38

Checking in

Egghead68 · 01/01/2020 06:09

Happy New Year!! (whispered quietly for sore heads).

65.8kg this morning - up a bit with last night’s Brie fest.

Probably going to have one more day over calories today before getting back on it.

All my plans of an early night and a long jog first thing this morning were scuppered by fireworks outside my window till 1am. I’m going back to bed!

Egghead68 · 01/01/2020 06:33

Ooh now 65.3kg. That’s more like it (and better than I deserve).

bluepixie · 01/01/2020 08:03

Thanks for thread cricket.

Starting weight 11 stone
Goal 10.5 for now.

Had the hugest blow out yest resulting in too much wine and passing out at ten
Refusing to be hungover today
On 900 cals and low carbs today x

Happy new year xx

JontyDoggle37 · 01/01/2020 08:23

Final goal: 10 stone 0lbs
Initial Goal: 12 stone 0lbs by end January

Togstiree · 01/01/2020 08:32

Thank you for the thread.
Went and joined back at SW 3 days ago and starting today.
Lost nearly 2 stone for my wedding and have almost put it back on.
Starting 13st
Jan Goal 12.7
End goal 10.10.
Good luck to everyone. X

7Worfs · 01/01/2020 08:40

Happy new morning, all! Xmas Wink

Thank you for the new thread, cricket!

For all posters with underactive thyroid/Hashimoto’s, keto and very low carb may have adverse effects on hormone levels - if it doesn’t work for you, that may be the reason why.

My stats and a summary of what I’m doing:

Current weight: 58.6kg
December loss: 3.2kg
Overall loss since I joined 1st October: 10.8kg

I’ll stick to 16:8 as it’s been extremely effective for me, not least because it stops me mindlessly snacking in the evenings.

Eating window 9am to 5pm, eating three normal meals, no snacking in between. Drinking only water and black coffee.

Exercise - occasional fasted HIIT. Will get back to weight lifting soon when my conservatory gym is not so cold. I’m also recovering from an EMCS and burn a lot of calories through breastfeeding.

Good luck to all of us, hope we have a great 2020 with less stress and better lifestyles.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 01/01/2020 08:43

I’d like to join if that’s ok. My weight has yo yod so much, I’m sick of it. Not too much to lose, but my clothes don’t fit.

Start weight - 8.5 st
End goal - 7.6
Jan goal - 8.2

I’m short and apple shaped, so everything shows on my stomach and chest. Small torso, longer legs.

I want to stop bingeing on chocolates and biscuits. I’ve realised I have to eat none at all, as it leads to me finishing the whole packet.

I’m going to do low carb (but not totally cut out bread etc) and just general healthy eating. I do enough exercise I think - it’s just the rubbish I consume. More fruit and veg, and less cake. Sounds so simple.

Thanks all, and good luck.

KnucklesMcGinty · 01/01/2020 08:43

Morning & Happy New Year! Mind if I join in? I lurked on the December thread, lost a load of weight then put it all back on over Christmas.

JontyDoggle37 · 01/01/2020 09:11

Also, massive motivation - went to do the ten years photo challenge on Facebook and nearly cried. I had such a great body and I never appreciated it, and my face didn’t look tired and puffy. So I’m using that picture as my motivation.

WoollyFoolly · 01/01/2020 09:30

Morning and Happy new year!
Starting January and 2020 at 11st 13lbs. I started 2019 on 14st 7lb, very happy with that difference!
I'm not going to start again in earnest until next Monday when the kids are back in school but I've been largely staying on track anyway.
