Hello lovely losers!

All I ask for is the same positivity and support that we have seen on every thread so far.

My stats are:
Starting weight: 18.13
Jan target: 18.6
Loss for December: maintained
Loss so far: 6 stone 5lbs

I'll be following 16:8 and WW purple plan.

Let's get ready to smash January! (As soon as the cheese and trifles have gone 😂)

Jonty I'm not weighing today either. I had quite a carb-heavy day yesterday which fended off the migraine and got me through the funeral but probably put my weight up. I'll try to be better this weekend. DS has a big project to complete for school so we'll be stuck indoors most of the time.

Skyejuly · 25/01/2020 11:32

I'm also not weighing today. Been awake since early so I have had 100 calls of porridge but I am not tracking my Tea's. Husband out this eve so I'm going to have a takeaway [santa]

Tryingtwo · 25/01/2020 13:51

Good afternoon all. Some fantastic losses especially those of you who are already at or near a healthy weight.
I'm doing well this week, I'm only eating at mealtimes and making sure I eat all my 1350 cals, because somedays I was only eating 1050, and drinking 3.5 pints of water so I'm eating more than I was and have lost 1.8 lbs since Wednesday but tonight's dinner will be from the takeaeay so I'll see if saving 100 cals per day (nhs recommend just over 1450 for my weight) is enough to offset chips/Chinese or if I'll need to change it up sgain next week

@AdventureTravelDreamer hope you're okay

Egghead68 · 25/01/2020 14:02

I’m giving a shout out to everyone who, like me, is just maintaining. It’s still hard work but without any reward.

Today so far
B: Toast & honey 200 cals
S: 2 mini macarons 200
L: veg lasagne & extra veg 6-700
S: trifle 300
Circuits, a mile on the treadmill & loads of walking.

JessJonesJumps · 25/01/2020 14:11

Egghead I can't remember if you were the poster who mentioned setting maintenance targets too? Maybe posters that are maintaining can have a Star when they reach target and then add another Star for each week of maintaining Grin

Egghead68 · 25/01/2020 16:45

I think that’s a great idea - maybe on a separate maintainers’ thread?

I would still rather be losing (I am 5kg from my target) but I seem to have got into a vicious circle of not losing so fast now -> No scales rewards -> feeling demotivated-> eating above my calorie allowance (when I need to start eating below it).

It feels like very hard work just to avoid putting on weight (I’m still eating much less than I used to).

The joys of dieting! Excuse my moan!

cricketmum84 · 25/01/2020 17:07

@Egghead68 I feel exactly the same. I know I have some blips but on the whole I eat such small portions and very healthy food but the scales just WILL NOT BUDGE!!

It's so frustrating when you are working so hard and not seeing results. Really feel like throwing the towel in some days and sitting in a corner with a pile of garlic bread and chocolate!

Egghead68 · 25/01/2020 17:33

It’s really tough isn’t it @cricketmum84? The early days of dieting are definitely the easiest (although it may not feel like it at the time). Let’s KOKO.

y0rkier0se · 25/01/2020 17:44

16”1 this morning so 7lb off in three weeks. I am sooo pleased as I’m on track to lose a stone by Feb 15th which is the first goal I set myself. Sorry to see some people struggling. I’m 6 stone overweight so have a lot to lose, those who are only a few pounds away from target but managing to maintain are doing amazingly.

recklessgran · 25/01/2020 18:53

Evening all. Looking as though I'm still stuck too. I'm expecting only a 1lb loss for the week when I weigh on Monday. Can't complain though as it means I would have lost 12.5lbs since 29/12. I'm just carrying on as I feel this really is my last chance to finally shift this weight. We shall see. Nobody seems to have noticed though. How much do you need to lose before people start to ask "Have you lost weight?" I wonder.
Wafer thin ham and salad for lunch and sirloin steak, pepper sauce and stir fry veg with a sprinkling of soy sauce for dinner later. I bought some nuts today to have for a snack but I know I'll have to be careful calorie wise and only have a few at a time. I'm hoping they will have the desired effect in the [ahem!] arse department if you know what I mean. Anyone else on Keto having this problem. It's a bit difficult when the only fruit you can have is a few berries.

Egghead68 · 25/01/2020 20:20

Nicely done @y0rkier0se.

I am surprised no one has noticed 12.5lb @recklessgran. That’s loads. Maybe your friends are just too polite to comment on people’s appearance.

I’m ending the day on 1660 calories (after 2 bags of roasted chickpeas and 1 halloumi fry for tea) but burnt at least 600 in exercise and walking so not too bad

KnucklesMcGinty · 25/01/2020 20:25

I lost 10kg before anyone commented. That's about a stone and a half.

Tryingtwo · 25/01/2020 20:56

recklessgran I was nearly 3 stone down before anyone commented! My dad noticed apparently but it was dm who commented along the lines of 'oh yes, your dad was right you have lost some weight, are you going to keep it off this time?' Smile Apart from dd and dh, who have known from the beginning that I'm trying to lose weight, to date dm is the only person who has said anything.

recklessgran · 25/01/2020 22:07

Thanks all for the encouragement. I'm quite tall [5ft 7ins] and 3 stone overweight so I guess I'm being daft in expecting anyone to notice yet. Actually, come to think of it when I bumped in to a friend earlier this week she greeted me with a "Hi, you look great". To be fair I don't suppose I look all that much different with my clothes on. The main difference is that my bread baby has shrunk quite a lot. I mainly wear shift dresses and thick tights and boots or black skinny jeans and tops. None of these clothes are really fitted but skim over the fat bits iyswim. I'm still "window shopping" and planning my new thinner wardrobe which is helping me to keep motivated.

Egghead68 · 25/01/2020 23:30

The new clothes are the best bit! (and the health benefits).

Egghead68 · 26/01/2020 05:51

Morning.
64.8kg. Plan:
B: Doughnut, fruit 560 calories
L: Blue cheese salad 500
S: Fruit salad 140
D: Quinoa salad 280
Happy Sunday everyone.

JontyDoggle37 · 26/01/2020 07:46

Morning all
Slight loss this morning which puts me at nearly 4lbs down since 6th Jan. Going for another pound this week. Focusing on meal planning, building my health (which is crap at the moment), hydration and hitting my fruit and veg targets. Have a good day all!

Skyejuly · 26/01/2020 07:58

Well done everyone.
I had a bad day yesterday and ordered an Indian but I had no rice or nan (damage control hah) and then ate chocolate...sooo trying to pick myself up today and not feel too bad about it.

Skyejuly · 26/01/2020 08:00

I'm short, 5ft 2 and no one has noticed my 11lbs either. I actually look and feel the same I think but it must have come off me!

cricketmum84 · 26/01/2020 08:12

@recklessgran my MIL commented at Christmas "Oh I saw on Facebook that you had lost some weight"

Yes MIL. 6 and a half stone. And I see you in person at least 3 times a week 😂

JontyDoggle37 · 26/01/2020 09:06

@cricketmum84 lol OMG I’m not sure if that’s funny or just bonkers!! Sign of the times - it isn’t real unless it’s on social media!!! (And huge congrats on the 6 stone by the way!)

cricketmum84 · 26/01/2020 09:19

Still 18.12 this morning, which is fine as I wasn't on plan yesterday at all. I stopped off at costa on my way home from the vets and got one of the new vegan ham and cheese toasties and a coconut latte for breakfast.

For the pub tea I had the mushroom and tarragon pie with mashed potato and peas although I didn't eat any of the pastry as it was a vegan suet pastry and really not very enjoyable. The filling was a bit sad and contained about 3 mushrooms. Ended up ordering a chocolate and coconut torte for dessert with a scoop of coconut ice cream. It was gorgeous but I gave half to DH Cos it was extremely rich.

Plan for today is plenty of water and peppermint tea as my stomach feels a bit "off" this morning. No porkies sausages for dinner with butternut squash mash and some broccoli for dinner.

I'm also going to batch cook and portion up some mixed pepper jalfrezi and some sort of Moroccan chickpea tagine. Need to get on top of having small portions to take to work for a point free lunch rather than skipping it altogether or ending up with a vegan roll!

Have a lovely Sunday ❤️

@JontyDoggle37 just plain old bonkers.

She is very into competitive dieting. She lost a lot of weight a few years ago but still barely eats and has been told by her doctor that she must not lose anymore. She is a competitive undereater who delights in telling you how little she has on her plate and loves to hold up hers and her size 8 daughters clothes to show me how small they are. She's spent years making me feel like shit for being the only fat one in the family!

KnucklesMcGinty · 26/01/2020 09:48

Bonkers!
@cricketmum84 if your tagine turns out nice can I have the recipe please? I made the BBC good food butternut squash & chickpea tagine, but it's not amazing. We're definitely not vegan here, but I like have a few non-meat days.

recklessgran · 26/01/2020 09:51

@cricketmum84 your MIL sounds charming. Us lot on here are in awe of your loss - so there MIL!
I'm doing OMAD today and extra water. This is because it's my four week weigh day tomorrow and I know it's being greedy but I really would love to have lost a stone.
I'm having either chicken salad or sausages and roast veg this evening. I'll see which of those 2 I fancy when the time comes.
Need to do some housework/bed changing so hope that will help on the activity front. Have a good day all.
Waves to @somesortofzilla - hope you're having a good weekend.
