Hello. Posted earlier about my weight. I'm wondering if anyone here is taking meds for fibromyalgia and anxiety plus pain killers? I think since the doctor upped my medication for my anxiety and then I went on lyrica for pain control my weight has soared. Wondering wether to cut down on the meds but I dont want to go back to how I was before. Anyway I've walked the dogs today (half hour). Taken combo of pain killers and now going to inlaws for a large family gathering which equals lots of food. I'm not a pudding person but I do like my savouries. Have put some tangerines in bag to munch on if I get tempted but second helpings 😀 I never used to eat much at all and was always active but my energy and pain levels are crap but I would like to loose my belly!!!Dont really mind about legs and bum it's my stomach that makes me look 9 months pregnant 😭 Oh I also dont drink alcohol so dont have to worry there xx

danni0509 · 01/01/2020 14:13

Just for those who haven't done already, take pics and or measurements, but especially the pics.

It's so motivating looking back when you feel like throwing the towel in.

tibni · 01/01/2020 14:14

@cricketmum84 I wish it was a dream but alas it is real. Hopefully no snow in May so I will not have to roll about naked snow rolling (yes that's a thing too).
Fantastic weight loss so far @cricketmum84, well done. Mini targets sound good, my first is to drop into next stone which is possible but will not be easy!
Good luck all we have got this. I've done a long forest walk today and only had coffee at the cafe. My job is office based so I want to get a little more active, although with caring responsibilities realistically this will be limited. Smile

Crochetnanigans · 01/01/2020 14:17

Don't know if you remember me but I was FunkyBarnyardBroom previously hello!!

New Fitbit for Christmas. And bough the Aria Air scales in the sales. And joined the gym.

1st January: 11st 6lbs
Mini Target: 10st 6lbs by end of Feb
Max Target: 9st 6lbs by end of June

Think this feels realistic?

Last year I joined these threads in Feb I think at 12st 3lbs and got to 10st 1lb by June

Need to calorie count again but finding it hard to resist the christmas goodies 🙄

I have set myself a NY resolution. Last year I walked 1247 miles according to my Fitbit. This year I want to hit 1500 miles minimum

Let's do this!

Egghead68 · 01/01/2020 15:07

@tibni that sounds traumatic.

cricketmum84 · 01/01/2020 16:13

@WingingItSince1973 not the same but up until July I was taking mirtazapine for anxiety and depression. It's so effective at causing weight gain that they actually use it as an appetite stimulant! After an initial large gain I did manage to lose weight whilst taking. I think this was mainly because the depression and anxiety were healing so I was eating more mindfully and taking better care of myself.

For any mrs changes I would speak to your GP, I don't know much about fibro but surely any illness is helped by being at a healthy weight. There may be some changes they can make that could help with the weight loss but crucially also still treat the condition?

@tibni this is getting weirder and weirder!! Do you mind me asking what culture they are? Naked snow rolling is killing me here! 😂

@Crochetnanigans I remember you :) welcome back!! Sounds like you are determined 💪 sounds like a sensible target to me!

@cricketmum84 it's Finland. They sauna then roll in snow to cool off or jump in an ice hole! What I don't know is what their hunting culture is - will they harpoon me Shock
dd is studying out there now but has been visiting last 5 years, it's a beautiful place but naked sauna with her partners mum fills me with dread! It's offensive to wear costume or have a towel but I may be prepared to offend depending how the weight loss goes Grin

Crochetnanigans · 01/01/2020 17:25

@cricketmum84 and I you! I am pretty determined if anyone would like to friend up on Fitbit please pop your name up as it does help to have a little competition 😉

QueenOfOversharing · 01/01/2020 17:53

Today logged my food in Noom (my cals are set at 1200 on there)

Breakfast (meant to skip as fasting!): white coffee
Lunch: steel cut oats with milk & raspberries
Dinner: rice & peas (kidney beans) and homemade chilli (made by son); meringue, cream & raspberries - made sure I had enough cals).

Friend from OA called & I'm texting her my food, for accountability - to avoid bingeing (or trigger foods).

roiseandjim · 01/01/2020 18:02

Ooh can I join please? Getting back on Sw on Monday- recently lost 2 almost 2stone for a holiday and it's slowly going back on so I need to start making changes again and I just love SW! I'm hoping for a 2lb loss a week. I don't know my current weigh- my scales are saying 9.9 but I think they're lying and I think it's more. I was 9.4 at my lowest I just couldn't get past the 4. Would love to be 8.7 by August 🙏🏽🙏🏽

lemontova · 01/01/2020 22:43

Hello, can I join too please? I need to lose the 10kg that’s crept on over the last 4 years and am now very close to BMI obese. Also saw some truly horrific photos over Christmas- after 20 years of being told I look much younger than my age this extra weight is really piling on the years and I look fat and old and frumpy.

Weight: 68.6kg
Jan target: 65.6kg
Goal: 58kg

Going to calorie count on MyFitnessPal at 1300 per day, cut down on alcohol, sugar and bread, and close all 3 activity rings on my Apple Watch!

MsTSwift · 01/01/2020 22:48

Starting weight 76kg (11st 9) on Oct 8th
Current weight 64 kg (10 st 3)
Height 5 ft 6
Bmi was 27 now 22
Aim to get under 10 stone and stay there!
Broadly doing 16 /8 and turbo cycling an hour most days with weights

beforeIhit30 · 02/01/2020 00:59

will they harpoon me @tibni Grin

@lemontova it’s amazing how weight loss can actually mean looking more youthful too, perhaps something to do with looking more fit/active and that being associated with youth? It’s one of the biggest things I look forward to, I don’t think I look too bad but I’ll be much happier once I’ve shifted this pregnancy weight, not just for slimming but to look and feel ‘youthful’/healthy and less frumpy. Maybe that’s my attitude to blame too... but anyway it’s how I also feel!

Egghead68 · 02/01/2020 06:34

65.5kg. The less said about yesterday the better.

Plan: Fast till this evening then salad, nut roast and gym.

tibni · 02/01/2020 07:42

Yesterday was ok, managed to swerve cake/ trifle when my friend came round for coffee.
I'd not been on the scales for a long time and I think this task ahead has sunk in a little today and mini targets to aim towards has to be my focus.
I can feel new job anxiety kicking in and Sunday dd and partner fly back so need to focus on not comforting myself with food.
Lots to do today to keep me busy! We can do this! Smile

DownUdderer · 02/01/2020 07:53

Hello to all the new people joining!

I’m in Australia, so I’m often posting at different times of the day to everyone else :)

I’ve had a much more focused day, I went shopping and have restocked the fridge with healthy bits.

December wasn’t the best for weight loss, but not a total fail either. I’ve got two weeks until my birthday and I’m really looking forward to being slimmer for it. I bought quite a few bits in the sales and it’s all arrived now and it all fitted and looked great, so motivating! I’ve lost 2stone 7lbs, so my face looks so much better!

Megsmcgoo · 02/01/2020 07:53

Checking in! Goal weight is 9 stone not sure on starting weight this morning but the last time I weighed was 13st 5 Sad I expect it’s similar

Restarted the WW weigh in day to Thursday to start afresh today, good luck all!

cricketmum84 · 02/01/2020 07:58

Morning all! Welcome to Day 2!

Didn't eat enough yesterday at all. I made Mexican stuffed peppers which were nice but not very filling. Then I was famished in the evening and had a packet of salted crisps and 2 plant kitchen salted caramel truffles. I really need to get myself more organised!

Plan for today is 16:8 and eating window of 12-8. Lunch will be leftover stuffed pepper, dinner is leftover portion of mixed bean chilli with brown rice. If I get snacky i have apples in and a lidl graze style nut thing.

Have a lovely day everyone and good luck to everyone back to work today!

@DownUdderer how are the fires down there? Just sat watching the news about it now. Hope you are in a safe area.

JontyDoggle37 · 02/01/2020 08:19

@DownUdderer thinking of you, just seen NSW is in state of emergency now.
1lb down this morning at 12st 5.0, which is a good start. Still off on leave until 6th so doing a gentler start to the diet while still off with family etc, going hardcore next week!

Piixxiiee · 02/01/2020 08:57

Hi I'd like to join. Looked at keto diets but I have underactive thyroid (medicated) so it's not advised. Think I'll do low carb high protein.
Honestly if I can stop the junk eating and sugar addiction then I'm sure it will make a big difference. My danger time is once kids in bed- have a habit of eating a snack- chocolate/crisps so I need to break this.
Start weight 68 kg
Target 63 kg

Going to take measurements and photos - great idea.

Ihatesundays · 02/01/2020 09:24

So first proper day on WW. Not counting the crisps and wine I had after midnight Crown Blush
Trying to do 16:8 but feeling a little tender this morning, might not last waiting.
I’m 72.3kg, so I’ve put about a pound on over Christmas Crown Confused

WoollyFoolly · 02/01/2020 09:24

I'm going to go through my wardrobe next week when the kids are back and pack away all the 'big' clothes. Not quite sure what to do with them yet, charity shops seem a big step.
I've been looking back at photos from a year ago, I took one on 7th jan when I wanted to start tackling it but didn't actually do anything until April/May 🤦‍♀️

I've tried this dress on regularly along the way. First photo was June last year, I'd already lost 8lbs or so by then. Second photo today, 2 more stone lost and it's now totally hanging off me.

Good morning all. I joined mfp yesterday and not sure I'm doing it right. It set my calories at 1200 which is about 150 lower that what I have been eating. NHS advises 1497 to 1900+ and to stay to the lower end of the scale to lose 1-2lbs per week. I'm confused.
I edited my cals to 1400 and was in the green for everything except sugar and carbs for which I blame the last mince pie which I ate as I was so low on my cals for the day - should have had nuts/granola as usual Smile

7Worfs · 02/01/2020 10:07

Very nice, Woolly

Piixxiiee I also have an under active thyroid and evening mindless snacking problem.
The only thing that works reliably for me is 16:8, I eat dinner at 5 and then that’s it! Around 8-9pm when DH starts snacking next to me, I usually have a moment of difficulty, but then because I’m invested in the fast, I manage to rein in it and just drink lots of water.

I’m 0.1kg lighter today, which seems to be my daily average loss. Got a cold, so full of paracetamol.
Food is:
B - porridge with banana
L - scrambled eggs on toast, orange, mince pie
D - chicken and rice
