Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

No, I think I'm a long way from the peri -menopause (I'm 40- sticks head in sand) . I've always been tubs in the middle relative to the rest of my body, even when I was right out of my teens and stick thin.

I like to think of my mid-rift as my body's prepper, unlike my boobs who would be first to desert me in a famine.

Egghead68 · 04/12/2019 13:19

Ignore me!

Boobs always seem to go first Sad

Egghead68 · 04/12/2019 13:21

You've done amazingly @Wildroselosesit!

7Worfs · 04/12/2019 13:24

Low-key birthday today, I’m turning 36 👀
No treats, trying to maintain discipline until at least the 15th.

Vebrithien · 04/12/2019 13:32

We saw a heartbeat on the scan today!
Words can't express how I feel right now.

This is further than we got with the last MMC. I've got a haematoma present, and with my miscarriage history, have been referred to the early pregnancy consultant, with the view to having fortnightly scans.

However, it's looking so much more positive than it was.

Thank you so much for all of your well wishes.

And, as an additional victory, the nurse asked if I'd lost weight, as (and I quote) "you don't look like you weigh that much" (referring to the last weight they have recorded for me).

And breathe!

7Worfs · 04/12/2019 13:34

Aw, lovely news, Veb!

Baguetteaboutit · 04/12/2019 13:37

Oh brilliant news vebrithien, I'm so pleased for you! Smile

And a bonus nsv as well!

cricketmum84 · 04/12/2019 13:37

So sorry @DownUdderer I really hope they get it all under control as soon as possible. Can't even bear to think about the wildlife, the animals and peoples homes that have been lost.

@Wildroselosesit that's an incredible result so far. You must be feeling so proud!!

Happy birthday @7Worfs!! You are only a few months older than me :) hope you have a really lovely day x

@Vebrithien omg that is amazing!! So so happy for you. Still keeping you and mini V in my thoughts xx

Happy Birthday 7Worf, and I tip my hat to your full spartan-like discipline on your big day Grin

WoollyFoolly · 04/12/2019 13:41

Ah that's fantastic @Vebrithien, fingers crossed it continues to go well.

I am struggling with willpower at the moment, I got a lovely box of chocs for my birthday and keep picking at them. I ate a load of custard creams yesterday too 😖 I'm resisting buying mince pies because I'd just eat them all. There's something about the cold and dark that just makes me want to eat and eat.
Back down to 12.2 this morning but seeing as that's how I started November, it doesn't really count.

Baguetteaboutit · 04/12/2019 13:49

There was a co-op as with a mince pie in last night and I almost broke there and then. Must.Not.Eat.Mince.Pies.

Ad.

Egghead68 · 04/12/2019 16:00

Great news @Vebrithien!

Happy Birthday @7Worfs! (Go on - have a piece of cake!)

Wow, an actual doctor, come to tell us how to do it properly, and a first post too...and a website to flog.

Chinney Reckons.

Oh I do love a patronising post :) especially where they have something to plug 🙄

Advice, please? I've been losing weight since August, doing OK I think, 23.4 lbs down so far and I've gone down a size, but I have an enormous waist. I've got some size 18 clothes that a friend gave me and they fit really well except round the waist - feels uncomfortably tight. i have to be a bit careful with that because I have a hiatus hernia and reflux disease which doesn't respond well to anything tight-ish round the waist. Does anyone know of any exercises that might help my waist to get a bit smaller, thanks? Off out to my WI Christmas nosh-up tonight so wearing something nice and loose. I will be back on the diet tomorrow, though.

lilgreen · 04/12/2019 16:34

B:dry fried egg on whole meal toast, tea
L: rye bread with small avocado, apple
D: will be beef goulash with brown rice

Baguetteaboutit · 04/12/2019 16:36

Tbf, I think credit due for originality. November spammers all started, "Hi girlfriends" with a Valley Girl vibe. "As a doctor" must be the December wave.

Startoftheyear2019 · 04/12/2019 16:37

Oh dear, I am off the wagon. I'm finding all the treats and sweets that are appearing atm impossible to resist. Considering giving up for December and restarting in the new year. Anyone have any advice (apart from the dodgy doc)?

lilgreen · 04/12/2019 16:41

My only advice is don’t have treats in the house. It’s far too tempting. At work I try to avoid the staff room when goodies are out.

lilgreen · 04/12/2019 16:51

I’m planning on allowing DH to drag me out for a run tonight. Been saying I’ll join him for a while and hoping it will help. It’s dark so that helps as I haven’t been running for a couple of years.

Baguetteaboutit · 04/12/2019 16:51

My best advice is always eat before you go to anywhere with festive food. It's hard enough to walk by mince pies treats and ignore them but it's almost impossible if you are hungry too.

Baguetteaboutit · 04/12/2019 16:55

I have no idea Ecci, sorry. My abdominal fat is stuck tight, I've done more crunches than I ever though possible with the benefit that I can feel the waist that I want under all the fat that won't fekking move.Grin

lilgreen · 04/12/2019 17:48

I think belly fat just has to be lost. It’s different in everyone. I’m more bum and hips so my belly is the first to flatten before the more stubborn bum and thigh fat shifts. If you tend to be more of an apple, it’ll probably be last to go. You’ll get there.
