cricketmum84 · 30/11/2019 13:00

Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Hi to everyone, hope it's been a lovely Christmas. I've had a great time here. I have been good at times and not so good at others. I was 15st 11lbs this morning so no gain particularly ( the lowest I have been in December has been 15st 9lbs for a couple of days but not maintained it )
Must have been wearing something particularly flattering on Boxing day as got lots of lovely comments about my weight loss. I guess some of those people haven't seen much of me in recent months and therefore noticed the difference.
Lay in bed this morning working out some new targets for key dates in 2020. My birthday is at the start of March so that will be my first goal- under 15st and would love to hit close to 14st 7lbs by 8th April as that will be the one year anniversary of when I started my weight loss/lifestyle changes.
I start rehearsals for the play i'm doing on Thursday this week and that will be a 3 times a week commitment which will help with my evening snacking habit. I tend to find if I am busy or have company I am far less likely to eat.
Hope the end of the month goes smoothly for everyone. I'm looking forward to the new year very much. Crown Wink

I can’t find any clothes I like on me! I look huge! Must not have a drink with dinner tonight!

lilgreen · 29/12/2019 18:17

Ok so still not weighed. These days are so off plan. Haven’t gone mad but just not really watching what eat at all. Didn’t drink yesterday or today but eaten cheeses and chocolate today.Thats it now, nothing else left that tempts me.Feel a bit bloated. Gave blood today and can’t help wondering if that makes a difference Grin

Megsmcgoo · 29/12/2019 22:31

Stepping on the scales tomorrow morning and dreading it! I do however have a cross fit induction tomorrow so there’s a plan in place at least!

Back to 100% tracking on weight watchers and I have the healthy food shopping coming —plus all the booze for NYE—

DownUdderer · 30/12/2019 01:02

I’m not 100% being good, a few snacks are passing my lips but I’m still weighing daily. I’m staying the same. I’ve been doing quite a bit of light exercise so maybe that’s helping. I’ve found our beach trips much more enjoyable being 36lbs down.

bluepixie · 30/12/2019 07:10

11 today. 3 more pounds Xmas bloat to loose then hoping to loose 1-2 a week.
Good luck weighing meg

bluepixie · 30/12/2019 07:17

Posted too soon! Sorry.
Plan today
Yoghurt and passion fruit (found them for 10p in the store yesterday quite excited about this!)
Lunch plain salad of mainly leaves
Dinner salmon and veg
Gonna try be very low cals today as tmrw is gonna be very high and undo today bascailly Confused

Downunder well done maintaining - I put on 5 pounds!!!! So cross at myself! I’ve got 2 off in 2 day’s so it’s prob mainly water but still. I didn’t weigh myself for a week which is what I did wrong

Egghead68 · 30/12/2019 07:34

65.8kg. Have a good day everyone. Wish I didn’t have so much trifle to eat up!

cricketmum84 · 30/12/2019 08:25

Morning losers! I'm still rather confused about what day it is. Had some gorgeous mushroom pate on melba toast late last night and am starving this morning! Still trying to use up the Christmas food...

Working from home today but DH and kids are also home with strict instructions to limit my cheese intake 😂

Haven't weighed today as I'm constipated from eating too many carbs. Need to start upping my fruit and veg intake again.

Plan for today is:
Am - lots of water
L - cheese, pickles and crusty bread. Must use up the Camembert
D - not sure yet, was going to do turkey curry for the family and chickpea for me but realised both kids are sleeping out at friends tonight so not sure now. DH is suggesting a Chinese...

Definitely going to be up a pound by tomorrow.

Happy Nearly New Year.

Getting back to normal from today. Weighed this morning and as expected have put on 2lbs since I weighed last Monday.

So back on plan from today as really I’m up 4lbs realistically cos I didn’t lose as well as added. Enjoyed Christmas but need to step on it now and not let it slide.

Got some weekends away over next two months so those dates becoming my new targets. Have even thought about going back to swimming or starting aqua aerobics but I do hate all the faff going to a pool. Plan to walk more with dog until I decide.

Food I’m having trouble avoiding at moment and over Christmas is bread and crisps. Thought it would be chocolate but they not bothering me.

Going to do a fruit and veg shop today to try to stick to menu plan for week ahead as need to work at it double hard this week. Will be happy if I’ve dropped 3-4 lbs by next Monday to catch up, really don’t want to slide backwards with all hard work I’ve done changing way I’ve been eating over last couple of mont.

Feeling positive that by July 2020 this will be my year I’ve cracked my unhealthy weight. Gotta keep thinking of all those clothes I want to be able to wear again as the weather warms up and my ultimate goal is to buy a pair of Levi jeans in the summer.

Hope everyone getting on ok.

lilgreen · 30/12/2019 09:40

Morning all, down 1lb of the extra 3 that went on last week. Properly back to weighing daily and calorie counting on my app. The only chocs left are unopened and that’s fine; the cheeses I like are gone and am doing ok in alcohol front. No plans for NYE so that helps. I really like waking to a new year with a clear head and going for a big walk.

Ihatesundays · 30/12/2019 09:43

I wasn’t very good yesterday but down to 72.3kg so creeping down again.

WoollyFoolly · 30/12/2019 09:51

Morning all, I'm impressed that we all seem to be largely maintaining or creeping up just a little (to be expected). I'm reminding myself what cricket said, it's not what you eat between Christmas and new year that matters, it's what you eat between new year and christmas.
Continuing 16:8 and eating up some Christmas goodies. Down to 11.13 this morning which is great as I'm very bloated.
Plan for today is lots of water. Goats cheese and beetroot salad for lunch and lentil dhal for tea.

twolungs · 30/12/2019 10:18

I have had a 3lb loss so far for December. Still two more days to go.

I have upped the ante on cronometer. It seems to think for a 2lb weekly loss I can have 700 calories which seems ridiculous. No way can I survive on that lol. Oh well if I land near that I might shift the last bit.

Waiting for a letter with my annual hospital check-up date.

I always worry they have forgotten me and have to remind myself just to wait.

twolungs · 30/12/2019 10:21

Oh also I have turned my usual porridge and fruit for breakfast into a smoothie. Just whacking it in the blender. The main thing is it's so much quicker to consume!

7Worfs · 30/12/2019 10:37

Hi everyone!
I’m in a reflective mood, 2019 has been very good to me and I’m full of gratitude. I hope we all have a great 2020! 🎇

Good day yesterday, had treats in lieu of lunch - unhealthy, but kept the weight in check.
Had a bit of meat and broccoli for dinner at 4.30pm and was feeling famished by 9pm, but resisted and broke fast at 9.30am this morning.

Pantry is full of sweet foods still, but DH promised to eat most of it, I’m only in charge of the last 6 mince pies. Xmas Grin

Today’s food:
B - porridge with dark frozen cherries
L - leek and potato soup and the last cheese and crackers. Maybe a mince pie
D - slow cooked pork, broccoli, sweet potato mash

I’m planning at least an hour walk with the pram today, it’s supposed to be 10 degrees and sunny.

QueenOfOversharing · 30/12/2019 12:16

peeks round the door

Hello. @custardbear suggested I pop over & join you lovely lot.

I posted as I'm terrified of doing my starting weight!!

Got a considerable amount to lose & swinging between feeling determined and feeling like "what's the fucking point?"

QueenOfOversharing · 30/12/2019 12:46

Oops! Apologies, it was @cricketmum84 who suggested here! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Egghead68 · 30/12/2019 13:37

Welcome @QueenOfOversharing.

Tryingtwo · 30/12/2019 14:09

After sticking to plan on Friday I lost 1.2lbs. Saturday not good but not too bad so stayed the same. Yesterday I ate chocolates, crisps, nuts, cheese and crackers plus my 3 meals Blush. It was difficult to get on the scales this morning - I really, really didn't want to and I have gained 1.4 lbs to 14st 2.4lbs. I'm so annoyed with myself as if I hadn't eaten like a pig over the weekend I might have made it to the 13's for the new year Sad
Anyway today:
Breakfast: porridge (223)
Lunch: scrambled egg made with an extra large egg and 2 tbsp of semi skimmed milk (113) baked beans (168)
Snack: baked crisps (109)
Cals so far - 613
Plan
Dinner: Ready meal (344) Mixed veg (77) [421]
Snack: fruit and/or 10g almonds

Well done to the majority of you who are a lot more disciplined than me Smile

cricketmum84 · 30/12/2019 15:10

Welcome @QueenOfOversharing! Please don't feel any pressure to post weight if you don't feel comfortable doing so. It took me a while before I dared to.

There's some lovely supportive ladies on here and there's no way I could have lost as much as I have so far without them.

I still have about 5 stone to go so will be here and setting up new threads monthly for a little while yet!

QueenOfOversharing · 30/12/2019 15:12

Thank you @Egghead68 & @cricketmum84

I'm going to first try to decide how I'll be doing this weight loss thing!!

cricketmum84 · 30/12/2019 15:32

I follow 16:8 so only eat between 12-8. It's not for everyone but it works well for me as I never used to eat on a morning anyway.

I'm also doing ww and have been doing since December 18. I've lost 6st 5 in that time so a steady half a stone a month on average, some months more some less. It fits really well for me and I find the accountability really useful. I've also gone veggie and going to have a go at veganuary (hence trying to eat all the cheese in the house) 😂

Lots on here all doing different things though so I'm sure you will get plenty of good advice!

OP posts:
lilgreen · 30/12/2019 16:53

A better day today.
B:small avocado on toast
L: spinach salad with 2 rice cakes, 1tbsp red pepper hummus, apple
D: will be 2 chicken sausages, small serving of cauliflower cheese, small baked potato, green beans.
No alcohol and just back from an hour long dog walk.

QueenOfOversharing · 30/12/2019 20:42

Thank you @cricketmum84

I like the idea of IF - I usually skip breakfast anyway, so I'd just make it more formal & not put milk in coffee.

I'm thinking of going back to low carb along with that. I guess that's how I'll start, then see how I get on.
