Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

It's probably all the water that your body is retaining to heal all those micro tears after intense exercise. Anyway, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Grin

Good morrow! Love the cat-in-the-tree photo, took me a while to spot it! Xmas Smile

Scales moving slowly, will try to go out for a walk today, depending on nap times.

Went overboard with Christmas decoration buying (now that I have a house to decorate), will put everything up next weekend! Ho ho ho! Xmas Grin

Onesmallstep67 · 05/12/2019 11:40

@Vebrithien, wonderful news from the scan, made me tear up a little, got everything crossed for you all Flowers

@7Worfs, hope you had a lovely birthday, sorry for the late wishes, only just catching up with the thread

more great losses happening, well done everyone. Maybe we are all subconsciously being a bit good in preparation for being a bit bad very soon Xmas Grin

i'm back at 15st 11lbs today, need to lose a pound a week to hit my target for December, that's got to be doable hasn't it ?? Crown Hmm

Egghead68 · 05/12/2019 13:26

Going to have to put today behind me. Just went out for lunch and ate around 5 pieces of bread and also had a chocolate muffin as a morning snack.

Damage limitation: nothing else to eat today and an hour on the treadmill.

Tomorrow's another day.

Ihatesundays · 05/12/2019 14:43

So I made the mistake of looking up my BMI which says I am still in overweight by a stone.
I just just can’t see me losing that. I know I have a lot of muscle but still makes me feel sad.
I’m trying to set a new target as I am 0.1kg off the one I have just now (72kg)

Egghead68 · 05/12/2019 16:02

@Ihatesundays think about how far you have come though! You are doing great. One day at a time and KOKO.

Megsmcgoo · 05/12/2019 17:07

@Ihatesundays I wouldn’t take account of bmi too much, I am 5ft 3 and at 11 stone was in size 8/10 clothes and I used to exercise lots so was quite muscular before tearing my acl, for my height i would still be considered overweight by 9lbs but I wasn’t - I am now though Grin

Megsmcgoo · 05/12/2019 17:11

Today’s food

  • porridge with strawberries
  • chicken and chorizo salad
  • sweet and sour chicken
  • fruit salad and advent chocolates

Desperately trying to save point for tomorrow! Going out with the girls from work and it’s fizz Fridays! Was pleasantly surprised to see that a glass is prosecco is only 4 points, slightly better then the 6 it was on slimming world

lilgreen · 05/12/2019 18:36

B: porridge with a small banana
L: salad with feta and olives, apple
D: chicken & veg noodle stir fry

lilgreen · 05/12/2019 18:38

Well the run last night was painful. Not in my legs but my ears!! So cold I got a terrible earache. Anyway, I managed a jog, sprint, walk over 3 miles. Weight the same this morning. Angry

7Worfs · 05/12/2019 18:43

I used to wear a headband over my ears when running in the winter evenings (can’t pay me to do it these days), also running gloves

lilgreen · 05/12/2019 18:47

Yes I had gloves on. Just thought I’d warm up quicker. I’ll try again when it’s not sub zero.

WoollyFoolly · 05/12/2019 18:52

You can do this ihatesundays, just keep going.

I've resisted all the Christmas goodies today! Just had an apple and a small bag of popcorn for snacks so pleased with that.

cricketmum84 · 05/12/2019 19:25

@Ihatesundays just think about how far you have come! You can do do this.

Also BMI is a massively outdated calculation. Especially when you have some muscle tone! My goal weight is only just into the normal weight range and I would look like a skeleton any lower than that.

@lilgreen I have horrendous earache just from going outside for a vape break this afternoon so I can sympathise. Cold earache is the worst!

I shouldn’t have looked! Doh!
When I was a teenager(and flat chested) I was 9 stone. I was super tiny!
I think I might aim overall for 10.5 stone or 66kg.

cricketmum84 · 05/12/2019 21:16

Absolute fail for dinner tonight. Attempted a mackerel risotto made with brown rice.

Never. Ever again. No idea how I managed 3 mouthfuls without throwing up.

OP posts:
DownUdderer · 06/12/2019 01:00

Mackerel risotto sounds gross! Sorry that was a fail for you!

I didn’t sleep well last night, had some period pains and I’m annoyed because I think the carbs are to blame. Recently I’ve had much lighter and easier TOTM and in the last few days I’ve been eating carbs and sugary snacks. Just mindless snacks. I’m annoyed at the disturbed sleep, I’m annoyed I felt sick yesterday after a sugary snack and I’m up two pounds!

My mum and dad left this week after a three week visit and I’ve just taken my foot off the pedal.

Running in the cold weather sounds very hard core to me!

cricketmum84 · 06/12/2019 07:01

It was awful @DownUdderer!

The recipe stated - a comforting warm meal. It reminded me of cat sick. And my stomach is awful this morning. I ended up having a little pack of ww protein crackers with violife.

On the plus side I'm 18.10 today so down another pound! Would love to be 18.7 by the end of the month. If I can get more off in the run up to Christmas then I've got a bit of leeway to eat drink and be merry :)

Plan for today is water and green tea for the am. Lunch is a packet of snack a jacks and a ww lemon meringue bar. Dinner is a leftover portion of chickpea and spinach madras with quinoa. Enough points left for a couple of gins tonight!

Happy Friday everyone!

WoollyFoolly · 06/12/2019 07:01

Nooo mackerel risotto is one of my favourites! I think it's probably very difficult to make any kind of risotto with brown rice though. You could try barley instead if you don't want to use white risotto rice, you need something to release starch to make it creamy.
Had a good day yesterday and really reined myself back away from the Christmas temptations. 12.0 this morning, which is where I got to towards the end of November. Hopeful I can get below it this time!

Egghead68 · 06/12/2019 07:07

Morning! 67.2kg. I’ve overeaten all week but am losing weight faster than usual - makes no sense.

Plan:
Fruit & yoghurt; something from Greggs; veg stew and rice.

Some good losses this week. Happy Friday!

cricketmum84 · 06/12/2019 07:10

@Egghead68 apart from last night I have eaten a lot more than usual. I swear my metabolism has increased since I introduced brown rice, wholewheat pasta and sweet potatoes in. Maybe we just needed the extra calories!

OP posts:
Ihatesundays · 06/12/2019 07:31

Same as yesterday which I will take gracefully as it was a loss.

Egghead68 · 06/12/2019 07:37

Maybe @cricketmum84! I’m not complaining anyhow!

7Worfs · 06/12/2019 08:05

Losing and gaining the same 0.2kg since start of December. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Annoying, as I’ve been eating a bit less, and fasting for 16-17 hours. Going to eat bacon and chocolate today, that will show ‘em.

Baguetteaboutit · 06/12/2019 08:06

Still 10st 5.75 ... Which is fine because I hit a wall with it all yesterday and mainlined toast. Back on it today.
